No longer access to old PC, getting iTunes to sync without erasing ipod?
I mislaid my Ipod and have since changed computers and no longer have access to the old hard drive. How do I get iTunes on my new Pc to recognise the tracks on my ipod?
Easiest way would be to download a utility that does it for you.
For a utility, you should try YamiPod (http://www.yamipod.com).

I'm sure you know that when you sync your iPhone to your computer, it automatically replaces the songs on your iPhone with the ones on your computer. It is important to sync your purchases to your computer on a regular basis, so that if you do lose them from your iPhone, they will be on your computer's hard drive and you will be able to retrieve them, if needed, the next time you sync. Purchases made on your device are not automatically saved to your computer. Your device has to be physically plugged in after purchasing.
Since it automatically replaces the songs on your iPhone with the ones on your computer, this could effectively erase any songs downloaded on your iPhone that haven't been backed up. I highly recommend checking out this article for future transfers:

What I need is for my books which are on my iPad to be synced to my mac, and not vice versa.
The iTunes library lost track of all of my media. Everything's still there and for songs its no big deal to simply reimport (from the directory which never moved, but which iTunes stopped pointing to for some reason.) But for my books, which have notes and highlights, I don't want to erase whats on my iPad and resync with the current state of my books on my macI will address your second question.
First, make sure your iPhone and iPad have absolutely identical Apple IDs. If they do, use that Apple ID in Settings > iCloud on your iPhone to select the "Notes" option. Lo and behold, all your iCloud notes should appear on your iPhone. -
ITunes 7: sync - manual erases iPod
Hi all,
I just installed iTunes 7.0. Before I synced my iPod at home. Before I leave for work, I switch the iPod to manual. At work on the PC, the iTunes library is empty and I play music and audiobooks directly from the iPod via iTunes (was 6.0.5). When the weekend comes I switch the iPod to autosync. I only switch the music to manual and leave Podcasts on autosync.
Now in iTunes 7, when I turn off sync to go to manual mode, iTunes erases the iPod! I had walked away from the comptuer and didn't realize what iTunes 7 was doing until it was too late. I am now resyncing the iPod.
Why the change? Or am I doing something wrong? Any help will be appreciated.
BTW, it is funny that the 60GB drive in the iPod Photo is bigger than the HD in my work PC (WinXP Pro SP2). I've got over 40GB of music, podcasts, and audiobooks the iPod.

Or am I doing the playuing songs from the iPod via iTunes wrong? When I have autosync enabled, all songs are grayed out and I can click on the browse button that brings up the genre, artist, and album windows above the music listing.

Following a software update, I can no longer access/authorise music purchased via iTunes from my old Apple ID, which I have not used for 8 years, and no longer have password. Any ideas how I can re-access/recover that music?

I transferred my files from a G4 to a new macbook pro, but I can't access my old songs in itunes. I clicked on library in itunes and get the mac page to access mp3 and acc files but it doesn't work. Any suggestions?
They maybe corrupt, try transferring again from the g4. If iTunes is giving you an error then you need to authorize your computer with the same iTunes account as previously. Also, you could try exporting your iTunes library via iTunes on the g4.

If you do not have a backup in either iCloud or iTunes, then you will have no way to retain the information on your device because you will have to restore it in order to access it again.

I didn't do any kind of backup other than my usal sync with itunes. What do I have to do to get itunes to sync everything back like the old one? I was planning for a repair not a replacement. I'm afraid to plug the new one in to my pc until I know what I need to do.

On set up I am frozen on screen which ioS 6 cant get itunes to sync and I can turn the IPAD mini on but has no apps and is un responsive. When checking with computer its downloaded my pictures from Old ipad but I can see no apps or differing screens.
It is basically just a zombie machine with a screen with IOS6 on it. I have left it on with WIFI over night and still nothing.

I recently purchased a Windows 8 laptop and istalled Office 2013. I then installed iTunes. After moving all my music to my new PC I got iTunes to import it, and then synced it to my iPod (3rd gen.) However, I cannot get iTunes to sync my Outlook Calendar or Contacts with my iPod. When I try it crashes Outlook. iTunes continues to try to sync, but when it finishes my Calendar and Contents are empty (ERASED!). I have de-installed and re-installed iTunes (according to Apple's instructions), repaired Office 2013 and Outlook, scanned for viruses (etc), cleaned out temp folders, defragmented, etc., etc., etc. Has anyone seen this before, and does anyone know houw to fix it? (HELP!)

How do I get iTunes to sync working PDF files to iPad (iBooks)?
iTunes is synching PDFs into its books section (I can confirm the latest file times) but not passing the updated PDF to iPad iBooks during syncs (the file is selected for sync). How do I get iTunes to sync the latest PDF to iPad without manually deselecting and then reselecting to force a sync?
The problem here is that iTunes wants to make sure that the songs that were purchased are sent to the same device that purchased them. In this case, you would need to authorize your computer first. This is as easy as opening iTunes, find "store" in the upper status bar, and select Authorize This Computer. A dialogue will pop up asking for your iTunes ID and your password. Enter the ID you purchased the songs with. Afterwords, you should be able to sync the songs.

Can't get iTunes to sync and update with iPhone 5. Help!
I can't get itunes to sync some metadata over to my iphone 5. For example, for all of my metadata for Orianthi is correct, but When I choose her on my iphone, it shows thw songs all broken up followed by artwork from AC/DC! So I opened itunes, made sure all metadata was correct and then connected my phone to sync. Nothing. It doesnt change my music on the iphone to match itunes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ok, ran updates, found 3 new updates and after this was done all was well again. Still not sure why it only affected the touch and iphone, but guess i don't need to LOL.
