No longer connecting to 4G after programming

I live in mid-MI where 4g coverage is not a problem. As long as I've had this phone (S3), I have had solid 4G connections. Last week, I went to CO and had no issues connecting to 4G. On Saturday, I returned to MI, checked my phone, had a 4G connection, then dialed *228 to program the phone (as I normally do when I travel). As soon as the programming was finished the phone switched to 3G and hasn't been able to get a 4G connection since. I have removed the SIM card, rebooted, put it on airplane mode and even did a factory reset. I have checked other friends with the exact same phone and the same carrier and while sitting next to each other, they have 4g and I have 3g. Does anyone have any ideas on this? I'm thinking the SIM card is bad after the program?

You don't update the PRL on 4G phones by dialing *228, it's handled by the SIM card.  Usually it's updated as needed whenever you reboot the phone.  The SIM card may have become corrupted when *228 was dialed; you may want to get a new one (they are free at your local Corporate Verizon store).

  • Apple TV can no longer connect to network after upgrade.

I had heard that lots of people were affected with this problem with the software upgrade before this one so I deliberately waiting until this one came out before taking a chance. I was wrong.
After updating to 4.4. (3140) I can no longer connect to my network. It says there was a problem and gave the error messaged number: (5) in brackets.
I've had nothing but problems with both Apple TV's that I have owned, version 1 and this new version 2. I've a good signal from my router and I've used three different ones over the time I've had the two apple tvs.
    Anyone got any ideas.
I can't connect the apple tv directly because they are too far apart in the house. I can only connect by wifi.
There is nothing wrong with my wifi because I'm connected to it fine though my imac, iphone and ipad and laptop, (not all at the same time)

Ok, here's a solution, courtesy of our friends at AppleCare.
Unplug the router for 90 seconds.
I was running ATV2 with a Time Capsule.   The TC thought the ATV was still connected using its former IP address so wouldn't let it reconnect with a new one.
Hope this works for anyone else with same problem.

  • Webex can no longer connect to meetings after upgrading to Yosemite.

I recently upgraded to Yosemite 10.10.1 and found thereafter that Webex, which is a screen share application used for online meetings, can no longer connect to Webex services using the most current versions of Safari, FireFox and Chrome. Java scripts are enabled, pop ups allowed on all browser and yet the problem persists. Any thoughts on how to resolve this?

There was nothing that I did to make it work--it just started working again in Safari. However, it takes a few minutes after I click on Login and then the meeting comes up in another window behind the one I logged in on. I just tried it in Firefox and it now works there; still does not work in Chrome. All three browsers still have the following message in a black banner at the top: "Your browser version is not supported for use with WebEx and may not provide an optimal experience. To view browsers that support the best WebEx experience, go here." One thing I did do that may have enabled it to work in Firefox was to remove Silverlight, which is a Windows app and I'm not even sure how it got on my computer. I was told that it has a similar plug-in as the WebEx plug-in. I'm still searching for answers.

  • Can no longer connect to Photostream after installing Photos

Photos has deleted my iPhoto Photostream and Shared photos sidebar items.
iPhoto can no longer connect to iCloud photos. Does anyone know if this is because the Photos app has made this feature incompatible now? I am concerned I'll not be able to get access to this feature again. It's a big worry!

Same thing here on all my devices. Basically it seems like there is a web page that the device attempts to connect to confirm internet connectivity after joining a WiFi network which seems to now be a bad link.

  • Messages.app no longer connects to Jabber after App Store auto-installed Remote Desktop Update 3.8.2

Messages.app no longer connects to my company's Jabber server after App Store auto-installed Remote Desktop Update 3.8.2 (even though I never purchased that app). The Remote Desktop app can not be found anywhere on my machines.
I suspect the Remote Desktop update because Messages stopped connecting on my office MB Air after the update but still worked on my home iMac. Next day the iMac received the update and Messages stopped connecting on that machine too.
Messages attempts to connect for several minutes (it's been trying for 30 mins as I type this) and just hangs. Occasional I get the following error message:
Error: Messages lost the connection to the Jabber account 'account'. A network error occurred.
    I've tried:
    - Deleting and recreating the Jabber account in Messages.app
    - Toggling on/off SSL (SSL required by our server)
    - Toggling on/off auto detect server and port (port 5222 on our server)
    - Deleting every plist, cache, etc., I could find in the Library for any IM client I've ever used
    - Checked that Keychain trusts the Jabber server SSL certificate (it is a self signed cert)
    - Tried connecting from three completely different networks including the company VPN
    - Multiple PRAM resets
    - Setup a Google Talk account in Messages - works fine
    I'm at a loss...
    Kurt

I installed and setup Adium. Adium works but Messages.app still does not connect to Jabber.

  • Ipad no longer connects to internet after using remote app for apple TV

I can use the Remote app on my Ipad to connect to Itunes library through my apple TV but as soon as I do that, I can no longer connect to the internet on my Ipad.  The network stays connected on my Ipad but no internet.  I have to recycle the router (airport extreme) and power off the Apple TV.  Once I do that I can then connect to the internet again.  I am using a Mac Pro as my desktop with airport extreme as my router.  All software is up to date.  Appreciate any thoughts anyone might have.  Its a pain to use that litte remote for my Apple TV.

My question: Is it normal for the internet connection to switch from an Apple Network to another network?
    No.
You are probably connecting to a neighbor's wireless network. Unplug your base station and see if the network remains.

  • Roku Photobridge no longer connects to Mac after OSX Tiger security upgrade

I do the MacOS security upgrades as soon as they come out, and around mid-July, I noticed that my Roku Photobridge (aka HD1000) could no longer connect to my Mac. The error I get on the Roku is "User/Pass OK but read permission denied". Here's what I know:
    - another Mac user on the Roku forum reports the same problem, with roughly the same timing, and he also installed the same security updates
    - the Roku has its own account/user on the Mac, and all the permissions look fine (in fact, they're all 644 if you look at them using the command line)
    - the Roku uses Windows Sharing; I've confirmed that Windows Sharing is on for its account
    * the firewall on the Mac is set to allow Windows Sharing through
Any ideas or help would be gratefully appreciated!

Let me add: I've repaired permissions and repaired the disk on the Mac. No joy.

  • Can no longer connect to WiFi after iOS 6

After updating my iPhone 3GS to iOS 6.0 not 2 hours ago, everything seemed fine - for about 30 minutes. I soon lost all connections to my personal WiFi router in my house (both of them, actually). For a short period of time I was not even able to find networks in Settings>Wifi, even when standing next to my modem & routers.
No searches helped online, and Apple apparently doesn't believe in tech support emails, so I tried resetting my network settings. When I did that, it finally showed my 3 home WiFi networks. However, I'm no longer able to connect to them. When I click on one, it will take me to a "Log In" page at www.Apple.com, where it will say "Hmm, the page you're looking for can't be found" and send me back to the WiFi settings page, and put me on 3G.
This is really starting to get on my nerves, and I understand new OS' can be buggy, but this seems like a bit too major of a screw up to be a simple bug.
Any suggestions? If there's no way to fix it, Apple will have just lost another customer.

  • Safari 4 no longer connects to Internet after installing

The Software Update automatically installed Safari 4. Now, Safari 4 errors with "Safari can't connect to the server" regardless of what address (both alphanumeric and numeric) I type in and iTunes errors with "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. The network connection was refused."
However, Firefox is able to access the World Wide Web and I'm still able to access files on my Windows computers on my network.
    I've already:
    1. Repaired permissions with Disk Utility
    2. Tried Safari in a new user account
    3. Removed the preferences file
    4. Cleared the caches
    5. Deleted .com.apple.safari.plist
    6. Emptied the trash and restarted the computer
But it still cannot access the Internet. I don't see any option to uninstall Safari 4 and go back to Safari 3.

    HI Raymond,
    Try using Open DNS.
Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu. Click on TCP/IP and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' enter the following two numbers:
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
(An explanation of why that is both safe and a good idea can be read here: http://www.labnol.org/internet/tools/opendsn-what-is-opendns-why-required-2/2587 /
Open DNS also provides an anti-phishing feature: http://www.opendns.com/solutions/homenetwork/anti-phishing/ )
If OpenDNS doesn't work for you, download the 10.4.11 combo update available here.
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosx_updates/macosx10411comboupdat eppc.html
    Then repair disk permissions...
Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

  • Can no longer connect to WiFi after IOS 7 update

I own a small hotel. After updating to the new IOS, no one can connect to the WiFi network on their iPads or iPhones.
    Help!

Too little info here to work with however ...
    1. Go to SETTINGS on your iphone, then to WI-FI
    2. Can you see any networks listed? If not, then you have a problem with your Wireless Router. Reset it and see if it appears.
    3. If you can see the wireless network, try to connect to it manually. If this works, then off you go. If not, then you need to tell me what wireless router it is before we can go much further. Also, are any other devices connecting successfully (ie: pre-iOS 7 handsets, Macs or PCs)?

  • Xvision no longer connecting to server after office move

our Corp. office moved and my machines not longer can connect to the Unix machine on the VPN, nothing on the machine has changed, only the location. I'm not familiar with the details of this sytem, but need help urgently! Does Xvision need ports opened in the corp. firewall? which ones?

You don't update the PRL on 4G phones by dialing *228, it's handled by the SIM card.  Usually it's updated as needed whenever you reboot the phone.  The SIM card may have become corrupted when *228 was dialed; you may want to get a new one (they are free at your local Corporate Verizon store).

  • Apple Network No Longer Connects To Internet After 6 Weeks.

This morning I was connected to the internet via Apple Network. However, after work I couldn't connect to the Apple Network. Eventually, I started experimenting and I switched internet connections. Now, I can make an internet connection using a connection by the name of "000D...BF60."
I'm connected via an ethernet. I have Airport On.
My question: Is it normal for the internet connection to switch from an Apple Network to another network?
No idea why it changed like this. Apple Network still doesn't work and I was using it since I started with Mac 6 weeks ago.
    Thanks.
