No longer have access to old account email or password and need it to do a cloud restore

I just got a new iphone 5s today and while doing the restore from the cloud, it asks me for the password of an old username (email) that I no longer have access to.  If I choose to skip this step, the restore won't complete and tells me to choose another backup date. I have the same issue with all of them since a lot of my purchases were done with the old signin. Hope someone can help. Thank you, in advance.
