No longer receiving Facebook notifications

I'm sure it's something simple but since upgrading to Yosemite I no longer get Facebook and Twitter notifications in notification centre and my MacRoumors notifications have disappeared completely.
I've checked in system preferences and Facebook and Twitter are turned on, I just don't get the notifications.
Any ideas?

I also have this issue, since I updated to Yosemite in my works machine I've never have a notification from Facebook; also removed my FB account, rebooted, reinstall my FB account and nothing.
Besides that I can't get the locations in the blue arrow options (see the image).
I don't have this problem in my MBP with 10.8.5 (Mountain Lion).
Any ideas how to fix this bug?.

  • Not receiving facebook notifications

Hey guys, this post actually kinda picks up where my last one left.
Review: I stopped my BIS from sending my email to my phone. Why? To avoid "new mail"/"read mail" redundancies b/n phone and computer. This issue was pretty much solved here - http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/board/message?board.id=8300&message.id=56538&jump=true#M5653...
Current Problem: But, now I don't receive facebook notifications. I have the newest version of facebook, and i still receive regular ol' email notifications via my gmail app, but no more cool little f's with "so-and-so wrote on your wall!". not in my "messages" client or in my facebook client. i can still connect to facebook with the client, as i can retrieve status updates of friends, write messages from it, etc.
everyone that i've read on the boards is under the impression that facebook app notifications simply aren't linked to your BB email account... but my situation seems to question this. any suggestions? i appreciate it!

  • I can no longer receive Facebook messages in the notification center after upgrading to Mavericks

Hi everibody! As in the heading, i can no longer receive Fb messages in the notification center, but i can still receive push notifications for facebook likes and comments. Is someone able to fix this issue?

The problem has been solved with the help of a MobileMe online counsellor. My MobileMe account had in fact been hacked into and the fraudster had been redirecting my e-mail messages to a phony account that he controlled. We took the forward off and reset all my passwords and security questions, which solved the immediate problem.
    Thx.

  • Since downloading iOS7 onto my iphone 4, I no longer receive text notifications. How can I fix this?

Since downloading ios7 onto my iphone 4, I no longer receive text (or game) notifications. I do if my phone is in use, but not when the screen is dark and the phone is idle. If I click the top button to activate the phone, a text will be present on the screen before I unlock it, but there will have been no visual (screen activating with text in view) or auditory (text chime) alert. Has anybody else experienced this problem? If so, how did you resolve it?

I feel like such an idiot. I just figured out that when exploring the new control panel, I accidentally turned the Do Not Disturb function on. I've turned it off and all is well again.

Did a battery pull fix your issue?  No
    App Info: Facebook 1.7.0.22
I stopped receiving my notifications about 2 weeks ago (approximately June 8/9th). So far I have tried the following:
    -powering down and restarting
    -removing the battery and restarting
-switching the email address associated with Fb account (yes both old & new are linked to my Bb)
-changed password, thought my account may have been hacked into
-deleted and reinstalled app several times
I follow BlackberryHelp on Twitter and a tweet was posted last week that the problem was fixed and users should be receiving notifications again but I still am not.  Please let me know if there's something I'm missing and haven't tried yet or if I need to speak with my provider about this issue.
Thanks in advance for your assistance:smileyhappy!

I am having the same issue... did you get it fixed in the end? help!

  • I am not receiving Facebook Notifications in the Notification Center.

I've enabled Facebook integration on my MacBook Pro, and it allows me to set up Contacts and whatnot, and it even placed a Post to Facebook button in my Notifications Panel but I have yet to recieve any Facebook notifications these past two days. What gives?
'Apps' are set to 'ON' in my Facebook privacy settings, and Posting from NC works just fine. Am I missing something?

  • Facebook notification

I noticed saturday that I am no longer receiving facebook notifications, if I go to the app it will show that I have notifications, but its not alerting me.  I have deleted fb app & reloaded it, I reset my phone, & nothing is working.  Please help if this has happened to you!

    Hello iggy577,
Gina7239 provided a great first step.  When you open the Facebook application press Menu>Settings>Check Notifications (Active) and all the notifications you want to receive such as Messages, Request and Invites>Check the ringtone you desire and or LED option.  Are the notifications working for a while and suddenly stopping?  If so, please navigate to the phone Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>All>Facebook and clear data and cache.  Power the phone off and on and tap the Facebook application and sign in.  Please observe the notifications and advise if this was successful for you.  Thank you.

  • Was not receiving Facebook chat messages through Skype, unlinked Facebook and can no longer link

Hi there, I noticed I was no longer receiving Facebook messages in Skype, I followed some recommendations to unlink my Facebook account from Skype, which I did via the web interface, now I cannot seem to link it again. When I click the "Learn More" it just shows me how to sign in to Skype with my Facebook account. I don't want to sign in using my Facebook account. I want to continue to use my Skype ID and chat to my Facebook friends from there. Can this still be done?

Skype dropped support for Facebook because Facebook decided to change it's data sharing policy. It means that no 3-rd party application can' t connect to Facebook now. It's business as usual. Only thing is to hope that Skype can push Facebook to make some exceptions for Skype, in the name of Skype community.

  • Why are Facebook notifications not showing up in Notification Center?

On OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 Facebook account is setup in Internet Accounts preference pane in System Preferences.
Facebook is configured in Notifications preference pane in System Preferences.
The Share Buttons widget is configured in Notifications preference pane in System Preferences.
When I view my Facebook account via my web browser I usually have notifications available, but these notifications are not showing up in Notification Center.
I do receive Calendar, Mail, etc. notifications in Notification Center so I know it works.
I can send posts to Facebook via the Share Buttons widget in Notification Center, but presently I can receive nothing from Facebook..
Anyone know of a solution to this problem?
    Thanks!
P.S. I read in another thread how Facebook can be setup in iMessage, but I don't want to use iMessage if I can get Notification Center to function properly.

I got it to work yesterday. I tried none of the advice from discussions dealing with changing settings, enabling/disabling accounts, terminal commands, etc. All I did was ask a Facebook friend to respond to a post, and I was able to see the notifications in Notification Center.
I know most have their settings configured correctly in System Preferences, but this is how my preferences are configured on OS X Mavericks 10.9.3:
    (1) Internet Accounts preference pane:
There isn't much to configure here. I signed into my Facebook account. I checked or unchecked the Calendar and Contacts selections. It doesn't matter. I left the Description, found in the Details button window, as Facebook, but it doesn't matter, either.
    (2) Notifications preference pane:
Facebook alert style is set to Banners, but Alerts will also work just fine. This setting is crucial because if it's set to None, no alerts will be received. I left Show notifications on lock screen unchecked, but it doesn't matter if I check it or not. And I put a check mark in Show in Notification Center, and the number of Recent Items can be set to whatever available setting desired, mine is set to 20 Recent Items.
    (3) Notifications preference pane:
I placed a check mark on Show share button notifications in Notification Center, which is found when Share Button is selected in the list of notifications like Facebook, Calendar, Mail etc.
Again, I did nothing else, and it just works. As a side note: before I got it to work I called AppleCare and a senior advisor spent considerable time with me trying to find out why it wasn't working. And his last bit of advice was that I should reinstall the OS. He needs retraining because that bit of advice was ill-advised, to say the least.
I simply had no experience with receiving Facebook notifications in Notification Center 'on OS X', and the AppleCare employees had no training in this area, but if Notification Center is part of OS X, and Facebook notifications are part of Notification Center training in this area should be standard, but the AppleCare employees were guessing, not advising, which certainly is not technical support. Hence, my AppleCare dollars were not at work as expected.
So without prior knowledge as to how the specifics of 'Facebook' notifications worked in Notification Center on OS X, my assumption was I would be notified each time someone tagged me, someone liked a comment, post or photo of mine, someone commented on one of my posts, or someone sent me a direct message.
When I asked one of my Facebook friends to help me test it out, the following occurred (I don't remember if I had Safari up and running at this time - Note: I was signed into Facebook via Safari. I say this because AppleCare employees did explain on OS X some applications must be launched in order to received notifications, which in my mind is wasted time and code for Apple developers. Why offer notifications if the application is already launched? Ridiculous, if you ask me. That's what configuring each applications preference to set badge app icons, if it's not already coded by default.):
    (1) I sent a Facebook post via Notification Center using the Facebook Share Button.
    (2) I communicated with one of my Facebook friends by private message via iOS device and asked for a response to the post I sent.
    (3) My Facebook friend responded to my private message, but I don't remember if I received a notification in Notification Center.
    (4) My Facebook friend liked my post, shared my post, and commented on my post. I received two separate notifications in Notification Center on OS X, yet I received notifications on Facebook for all three actions, seen via iOS device. By the way, I wish Notification Center notifications would stay in Notification Center until we manually remove them. If they did stay until we manually remove them I would have time to find out which action of my friend I was received the notification for in Notification Center.
    That's it!

  • Macbook pro problem facebook notification

my friend logged in before his Facebook account in my computer. now i always receiving Facebook notifications from his account event if my Facebook account has been set up to my mail ,contacts, etc. settings. please help thanks

I can't even get into booting it from the installer, I only got it to get into the main login once, but once it got into logging in, it just went back to the purple square thingies...
It's model number is A1226 (what it says on the bottom, can't find any of the manuals or anything that would have it, my dad hoarded them away on me -.-)
I do know though, that it was purchased right near the beginning of '07 because it was supposed to be my high school grad. gift from my parents, but they gave it to me earlier.
If I can get it to run any farther than the logging in (I have a guest account on there as well) I will definitely try the repair disk. I'd hope that works if I can even get it farther than anything.
