I've been with Verizon over a decade and lived in the Midwest up until 2 1/2 years ago. Since living in Denver I've rarely seen 4g. Mostly 3g and 1x on my phone. Really frustrating cause out cuts out very often and pretty much gene to be some where with Wi-Fi if I wanna use my internet. I've always liked Verizon but friends I know with other services always have good connections around here. My contrast has been up and I'm wanting to get the new galaxy note 4 but am debating on switching services. Just doesn't seem justifiable to be paying over a $100 dollars a month for bad service. Any chance of service getting better in CO?

    Hello,
I am looking to move out to the Denver area in the next month or two, so I'm trying to find some work.  I'm hoping to find a full-time position but I'm open to doing contract work.  I've been using LabVIEW for 6-7 years and I've been a CLA for 4 years of that.  I've worked on a whole variety of projects mostly in the Test and Measurement, and Instrumentation and Controls areas.  I've got an MS in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in controls.  Not only do I do software but I also do some hardware work.

  • Using Griffin iTrip in Denver area?

My daughter is thinking of purchasing an iTrip for her iPod mini, to use in her car. Anyone have exp using one in the Denver area with any luck?
I had one back in the Green Bay area years ago, and it didn't work very well as Green Bay is situated right where many radio markets overlap at the edge of their signals, so there was never a good empty freq to use. Not sure about the Denver area...
    Thanks!

I don't use the iTrip but use the Monster iCarPlay FM transmitter and there are a few stations that I use just fine like 90.1, 91.7, etc.
Oh yeah, I live in Denver too

  • Iphone 5 having problem with LTE

Hello I seem to be having a problem with the Iphone 5. I live in the Denver CO market and use ATT service. After speaking with ATT the problem I am having is an "Apple Problem". So here is what is going on. Att recently launched LTE in Denver. I work on the edge of the LTE/HSPA network borders in Greenwood Village. So basicly I get 1 bar of LTE service and 4 bars of HSPA. That being said the one bar of LTE is dramaticly faster then the 4-5bars of HSPA. The Iphone seems to be doing something that I can't understand at all. Because it is having problems picking what connection to use it opts to use nothing at all. No HSPA no LTE just phone signal at full bars.
So I reboot the phone and BAMM! I have LTE 2 bars and great speeds for about 3min. Then back to nothing........ I am loosing my mind here anyone know if there is a setting or something that can be done?

    Hi  LSUZouave,
Even i am also experiencing same issue. Like during the day when tried doing browsing when i am on LTE, and it doesnt respond. If i reboot the phone, it then starts to work.
I am almost 99% sure , this has started happening since 6.0.2 iOS update.
APPLE support : In case, if you are reading this ... do you know a permanent fix for this by any chance, would it more like waiting for another iOS upgrade or can apple/att do something about it ?

  • 4G LTE service on a galaxy 10.1 tablet

I have a Galaxy tab 10.1 with 4G LTE.  When at work  I am in a Verizon 4G LTE Extended service area.  The problem, I am dropped from the network and cannot get a good signal(1 or 2 bars).  I have a galaxy 3 that connects via 3g with a full signal.  If it would help, is there anyway to switch to 3G on the Tablet?

I've been dealing with this same issue for four months now.  I live in a 3G only area.  After the ICS update, my tablet lost all 3G connectivity.  4G works fine.  I am now on my fourth tablet to "resolve the issue."  Of course, the fourth tablet isn't working under 3G. We've tried a new SIM card, and that didn't change anything either. I've also been connected through to Samsung service reps, and they can't resolve the issue.  It is always the same answer.  "Send in your tablet an we will check it for technical issues and send your repaired tablet or a refurbished tablet."  Rinse and repeat.  I am very tired of this issue. Since the tablet can't connect to the network, it's battery runs down fast.  The tablet in general performs poorly without the Verizon network connection. This device is worthless to me.  To make matters worse, I will have to spend ten dollars a month for the next sixteen months or so on a line and device that are not functioning.

  • Verizon wirelss seems to have more drop areas and less coverage in the Spokane area.  Why is that?

I have been a Verizon wireless customer for many years.  This last year or so I have found more and more light coverage areas and have had more dropped calls than in the previous five.  I have had to consider moving to another carrier.  Does anyone know of why Verizon coverage has become worse and are others experiencing the same thing?

Thanks for filling us in on a few more details! There are definitely many factors that can contribute to changes in service. Builging materials, terrain, number of customers trying to use the phone nearby, even signal boosters can all have a different effect on your coverage in an area. The Network Extender http://vz.to/IHRT6h is intended to help with both voice and 3G data inside of a home and there is not a 4G LTE version (calls are not placed over LTE services in most cases).
If the purchase of a Network Extender hasn't helped inside your home, we do need to take a few troubleshooting steps to see why. When you place a call, do you hear the short tones before the call connects indicating you're connected to the Network Extender? What type of home internet connection do you have? What model router is the extender connected through?

  • How do you get a sim card for an LTE iPad?

How and where do you get a mini sim card for a new iPad? Does it work with the iPhone? I'm just saying this because I got a new iPad as a gift and it doesn't have a sim card, so how do I get one?
And what plan does it come with?

You can pick your provider. Most carriers offer data plans for iPads, giving you access to their 3G networks.
If you with to use LTE, then you are tied to the carrier specified by the model iPad you own; either AT&T or Verizon. Look in the small print on the back of your iPad. Model A1430 is AT&T, A1403 is Verizon. LTE currently works in the USA only.
If you have an iPhone already, then it may be easier / cheaper to use this as a Personal Hotspot. You will need to make sure that your iPhone plan allows tethering, but that may be cheaper than paying for an additional plan.

  • IPhone 5 Verizon LTE problem

I have the 64GB iPhone 5 in white on the Verizon network.  Each day at a random time LTE will have a problem where I can't make a facetime call.  If I try and run a speed test either my up or down will not complete the test.  The only way for me to fix the issue is to toggle airplane mode and as soon as my phone picks up the Verizon LTE signal I can make a facetime call.
I have done some troubleshooting on my own and here are some of those steps and results.
I contacted Verizon and they "rebuilt" my line in their system.  I'm not sure what that means, but Verizon assured me it would fix any issues in their systems.
I have the issue on LTE only, 3G and Wifi have no issues with facetime and complete speeds tests every time without issue.
LTE in my area is a full 5 bars and when I'm not experiencing this issue I typically get 10-20Mb down/up
I contacted AppleCare and they suggested I do a reset.
I tried a reset on "Network Settings"
Nothing above has made any progress so tonight I'm trying a full reset on the phone per AppleCare instructions.  If that doesn't work I was told to take the phone into an Apple store.  The only issue with that is the 1 hour drive one way which I'm trying to prevent.
If anyone else is having the same issue please speak up or point me to a fix you have done.
    Thank you,
    Tom

I appreciate the heads up on the other thread but I'm not experiencing the same issue.  My LTE signal stays at 5 bars and doesn't drop to 3G yet I still experience slowdown and can't complete a speed test or surf the web.  Video services stop etc, so my data is effectively gone on LTE until I toggle Airplane mode or turn LTE off and use the 3G network.
For anyone that was following this thread its worth noting that I did a full restore of the phone and I still have connectivity issues on LTE.
Dialing *3001#12345#* on my Verizon iPhone5 brings up "Field Test" mode which shows my LTE signal strength at -82db.  After spending a little time on google -82 seems to be a decent signal strength and is reinforced by 5 bars of signal strenth.  I don't think the issue is with Verizon's network as they report no issues and the signal appears to be good.
At this point I think I will be scheduling an appointment at the Apple Store.  I'm very weary of driving an hour since the issues crops up at a randomly during the day.  I'd have a nagging feeling that everything will be working at my appointment which will have to be scheduled a few days out.
Oh well I'll update this thread once I have made some progress.

  • Slow LTE in Valrico, FL

Since getting a 4G LTE phone nearly two years ago, my LTE speeds around my home in the Bloomingdale area of Valrico, FL have been slow. I frequently have zero bars on my phone, and it usually drops to a weak 3G signal. I have spoken with Verizon Wireless support a number of times, but nothing has improved. If anything, it's gotten worse. My average speeds on LTE in the area is 2Mbps download and 1Mbps upload, which is TERRIBLE for 4G.
When I'm in North Tampa with four bars of 4G, my downloads speeds are 9Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload, which is better than what I get at home, but is still far slower than what folks on AT&T and T-Mobile are getting here. Back in November I used to get 18Mbps down and 12Mbps up on LTE, so VZW network has gotten congested.
By the way, the same is true for my wife; it's not just my phone. We also lose 4G signal inside buildings, grocery stores, etc.. This LTE network is notnearly as good as the 3G network was. I'm considering switching carriers.

Correction: my 4G LTE speeds at home are averaging 1.54 Mbps download and .47 Mbps upload. Pitiful!

  • What happens if the iPhone 5 is 4G LTE?

Does anyone know if the 3G network will ultimately be phased-out? Purchasing another iPhone 4S, just hope it won't be obsolete in the near future if the iPhone 5 is 4G LTE or Verizon pulls another fast one on customers and no longer wants to support 3G service.

some day 3g will be obsolete.....but not any time in the next few years. the iphone5 will likely be like the rest of the LTE devices that are out now. it will be able to utilize LTE where it's available, but will also have 3g ability. there are WAY too many 3g devices out there and way to few LTE markets to get rid of 3g any time in the next few years.
verizon is currently phasing out "3g only" devices. they want every phone to be LTE capable......they will all still be 3g capable as well.

  • LTE signal lost, about 2 bars worth city wide (4 down 2,2 down to zero) city wide last 3 months.

The last 3+ months LTE service has dropped about an even 2 bars worth all over my home city, of North Ridgeville, Ohio 44039.
Areas that had 4 bars are down to about 2, In my home I had 2 bars and now have no LTE and only 1 bar og 3G service that sometimes drops calls with NO SERVICE. This experience is with both my Iphone 5S phones, and my neighbors andriod devices as well. He purchased a new phone last week and that phone has the same poor signal, where we both had 1-2 bars of LTE consistently. The local Verizon store in town, told me that they have had the same experience over the same time frame, and are not aware of the cause. In the store, last week I was getting 1-2 bars, where I had 4 months ago. Are other cities experiencing similar issues? I figured this was just temporary, maybe citywide cell tower work that was effecting all carriers? 10 months ago I switched from Sprint due to a lack of 4G service that was promised for years. I still have one of my Old Iphone 5's that I never traded in, and gave to my daughter to use with WIFI. I activated this phone a few weeks ago with TING (uses the sprint network) Her phone now has 2-3 bars of LTE service at home! The same or better around town, too. Searching maps online it looks as though sprint finally rolled out LTE in our area, and it has the best coverage according to LTE service maps online. Could Sprints upgrade have cause Verizons service to decline? permanently? I wanted to upgrade to the Iphone 6 Plus and was looking into early Edge to do so, But Sprint is now offering to Pay ETF's like T-mobile, and would offer $350 for each 5S and $275 for my 5. I don't want to go through the hassle of switching carriers again, porting numbers and all, but Sprints plan would be cheaper (they used to be the same when I switched) Do carriers Boost signal at rollout?, then drop power output after acquiring new contracts, Is it a maintenance issue, where Sprint is better because its a fresh rollout? I cannot find much info on long term variability, only solutions to short term issues, and handset specific problems. This is going long term and effects all devices similarly with near equal loss of signal +/- a small signal strength. Sorry for the long post, but maybe the detail will find the right person with a solution. Thanks for any help

Mickey, I have not installed the new update, keep hearing stories of other issues, crashes etc. I don't have 3G in my area, and am finding that the phone works fine on Edge, so for now I am sticking to edge! Even though I don't think we should be paying for 3G if we are not getting it! I would like to be sure of what the update fix's before installing it.....

  • WHAT IS LTE AND WHERE CAN I FIND IT ON MY PHONE

    WHAT IS LTE

LTE stands for Long Term Evolution and is a super fast form of 4G data sevice. Your iPhone 5 will automatically switch to 4G LTE when you are in an area that is covered by the sevice. Not all areas are covered and more places are being added regularly.
