No Mackie Controller Support??? Seriously???

I have been a loyal Audition user since version 1.5 when I opened my studio 7 years ago. Before that, I worked with Cool Edit Pro. I purchased CS5.5 today only to find out you've done away with external controller support. I cannot tell you how much this angers me! I use my controller every day. What the H-E-Double-Hockey-Sticks were you guys smokin' when you decided, "Oh, they don't need that old controller, we'll just rip that out. Oh, and they won't need to group clips anymore, either." Huh???
That is arrogance and a lack of respect for us loyal customers who helped make Audition as successful as it has been.
I just put in for a refund and I'll be going back to v3 until I find something else that I like or until the Audition designers get their act together. Someone needs to lose a job over this.

Between Adobe's crappy customer service center (that know virtually NOTHING about Audition, since they are probably not audio types, this doesn't surprise me) and the cajones for them wanting to charge me $39 to resolve an issue after I just purchased an upgrade for both Mac and Windows is absolute insanity.  Add to the fact that there is no controller support for my Tascam FW-1082 like they had with AA 3.0, and I am just plain outright disgusted.  It only proves to me that this new version of Audition was not put together by radio/tv/film production people.  It was put together by techies that know their way around an Apple or PC enough to create something that looks good, but is USELESS for anyone in the industry.  I suggest, in my humble opinion, that you get some PROS on your phone/customer service line who known your product in, out, backwards, and forwards.   I also suggest putting people in the labs to develop this software that are actually in the industry, and KNOW what's needed in a piece of software.  Just sayin.....

  • Does cRIO-9022 controller support LV RT 8.5.1?

    Hi, everyone.
Does cRIO-9022 controller support LV RT 8.5.1?
    Thanks.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I "believe" because I searched ni.com and couldn't find anything about software limitations with cRIO. I talked to a couple people I know that work with cRIO and they said that software version isn't a limitation. Basically you could run cRio with LV RT 7 without a problem.
However I'm not 100% sure about this.
    My advice is:
    Try it and see.

  • Mackie controller vs mackie hui for logic

i sold my mackie controller and i regret that
i want to by a controller back
on the internet i saw mackie hui controller with audio inputs
does someone have experience with this setup: does it work like the mackie controller?
i also use soundcard with firewire

I've had mine for about a year and in any session it gets used about 10% of the time.
If you have the cash spare its worth having but for me it is often far quicker to use the mouse and keyboard.
The plug ins are also better accessed via the screen commands.
As we all have different work methods and needs maybe its just me but its not really a necessity in a Daw set up.
That said I prefer having it than not even for the amount I use it but if cash is a consideration there are far better things to spend the money on.
Another thing that disappointed me was the build quality as compared to other pro mixers I have it feels distinctly on the cheap side despite the price!!

  • IOS 7 Controller Support?

    Hi,
Are there plans for supporting the new Controller APIs in iOS 7? If so, is there a timeline when we can expect these to work?
iPhone will be announced Sep 10, and probably 3 weeks after that the public will be getting iOS7.
Any guidance on Adobe's plan here would be appreciated.

Bump. I'm assuming this must be on the Radar internally @ Adobe. Can anyone please confirm?

  • Does the new Pentium-M controller support RT?

Does anyone know when RT will be supported on the new Pentium-M PXI controller? I am running IMAQ applications on older PXI RT controllers (PXI-8176RT) but I'm trying to increase the test throuput by switching to faster controllers.

    Hi mhig,
The release date of new Pentium-M PXI controller to be supported by RT is still not confirmed. However, R&D is working on it to be released. I have asked the R&D, so I might be able to tell you the approximate month of the release. I will post up another messege once I get any reply from the R&D.
Also you have mentioned about increasing the test througput and yes new Pentium-M controller will have higher spec.; however, that will depend where is your bottleneck is. You might have heard about PCIe-1429. If the bottleneck would be the transfer rate from the camera to the computer, then PCIe-1429 could also be your solution. Yet since it uses PCI express bus, there are no board for the PXI.

  • Will the NI VXIpc-770 controller support HPVEE 6.X?

Am having troubles with the controller recognizing the VXI hardware under Instrument Manager in VEE Pro 6.01.

We do not currently have any historical data for using our VXI controllers with HP VEE. I looked into the use of Instrument Manager, and it appears that you can create instruemnts that are outside of HP support, so you may want to try that. This may cause a conflict with our NI-VXI driver, though, which is required for use with our VXI controllers. I would also recommend you contact HP or Agilent for further help.

  • How many AP does 2504 Controller Supports

    Hi,
I would like to know how many AP's does WLC 2504 supports? As per the data sheets it supports 75 AP then why is the part number is still AIR-CT2504-50-K9 (where 50 is AP?)
    Thanks.
    Shakeer.

    Hi Shakeer,
You are correct as per model AIR-CT2504-50-K9, 50 means that the maximum number of APs supported on this WLC is 50.
But, 7.4 WLC release increased scale on 2504 WLC. Previously, it could support max of 50 APs.
From the 7.4 WLC release notes:
"Increased scale for Cisco 2500 Series Controllers to support 75 access points and 1000 clients."
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/controller/release/notes/crn74.html
I suggest if you upgrade to 7.4 you will get the full AP count as expected.
    HTH.
    Thanks,
    Ishant

  • Will the 4404 Controller support Office Extend

According to the The Software release bulletin
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/wireless/ps6302/ps8322/ps10315/product_bulletin_c25-530367_ps10315_Products_Bulletin.html
We just purchased a 4404 controller. The document above states 4404 controllers have the capability to be upgraded to the new 6.0 software which supports Office extend. Does anyone have any idea whether it will be possible to purchase a wplus (wireless plus) license to enable office extend on a 4404 controller?
    Thanks

Regarding Office Extend is a new "feature" with the new 5508 controller running the new IOS, 6.X and Office Extend license. No one as yet knows if the Office Extend feature will be extended to the WLC200/2100, 4400 or the WiSM. I am suspecting that because Office Extend is a license feature, I have no doubt that this will be exclusive to the 5508.
Because the 5508 can AP support license can support 25, 50, 100 and 250, anticipate the End-Of-Sale announcement of the WLC 2100 and the WLC 4400.

  • AS3 or AIR controller support?

I recently updated my Flash Player and noticed a phrase that Adobe has added support for game controllers.
What I would like to know is how can I leverage this in an AS3 project?
Here is a website making reference to the support:
    http://forum.starling-framework.org/topic/gamepad-support
It's a forum topic of discussion.
I would also like to know that if game controllers are supported, can any MIDI device be supported as well?  I am interested in using a 4x4 16-pad controller for something like an audio sequencer.

why don't you communicate with the author (and join the testing team)?

  • Help needed with audio output (Mackie controller with Motu interface)

    Hello,
I have booked my university's recording studio for the day and am having a complete nightmare! There's no engineer around...
I'm not getting any main level out of my Motu 828mk3. Logic is talking to my Mackie interface (Universal Pro, 8 channel digi mixer) fine, and but when I try and play (or record) anything there doesn't seem to be a level. On the Motu the 'out 1&2' LEDs light up, which makes me think that something is being received, but that isnt manifesting into an output. Interestingly, iTunes (routed through the same Motu) works and comes out of the speakers. All the Audio Preferences settings in Logic are set to the Motu.
Can anyone offer any suggestions? We have already wasted the entire morning trying to get a sound out of the speakers!
    Thanks,
    John

The question you need to ask is: why do you need a midi in/out? Do you want to connect your keyboard to it? I run my keyboard through USB and that works just fine.
Do you already have speakers? Because that seems to be missing here. Also, if you want to record yourself you'll probably need some headphones.
I don't know what your budget is (one mans low budget is the others mans highest, so..), but you can get some decent speakers and headphones for not too much money. But just know this, it's often better to save a little bit more instead of buying everything cheap and wanting to upgrade everything next year.

  • Virtual WLC/Wireless Lan Controller supported AP's

What Ap's are supported with this new vmware option?   I have some 1131's and 1142's, but the document says all 802.11N ap's are supported.  Does that mean the non-N ap's are not?

Here is a link to the data sheet on the vWLC.

The 1130 and 1240 APs are supported per the data sheet.

  • Updating the firmware on mackie controller xt

How the **** do I do this thing

    Have you read this?
    http://www.mackie.com/products/mcu/mcu_upgrade.html

  • Mackie Controller Universal Pro wiged out!!!

Does the MCU pro work with Logic pro 8 or what???? It worked fine for a few minutes then it just wigged out and now all I get is a little flashing dash light. Does anybody know how to configure this or have had similar problems?

u made a statement that wasn't true about the hardware
I you actually read what I said, I said this:
"I highly doubt LP8 had anything to do with your hardware dieing, if it has - it is more like one of those conicidental things so you pin the blame on something else because it seems that's the only explanation."
I didn't say it wasn't the cause, I said I "highly doubt it" and "it is more likely to be" - based on my - not insignificant - experience. I cannot say for 100% what it was or what it wasn't, and that's why I attempted to engage in a troubleshooting discsussion with you.
My suggestion is to trouble shoot with the people who know best: mackie or apple, not most of the people on these forums, know more than them.
If you can speak to the knowledgable people in those companies, then I would agree with you. If you are talking about Apple Geniuses etc, then I would highly disagree - people here have vastly more knowledge than the kids they emloy in those places, particularly on the professional applications. Some of us have been using Logic everyday for fifteen years...
If you treat who ever you speak with treat them real nice and you'll be surprised at how much they will teach you.
LOL! Perhaps you should take care to follow your own advice too - telling people who you don't know that "they do not know what they are talking about" is insulting.
if you get a chance and you want to learn something interesting, there's a fellow on the 1st page in the forum, who has in bold letters, logic, leopard and tiger and read what he has to say who had all of these same problems
Thanks, I'm pretty well-informed of Logic issues in general, and of frustrations that people have had in Leopard. None of those are related to LP8 corrupting the firmware in an MCU though, which was really the point of my initial post.
You don't think that Mackie and I went through every possible trouble shooting
I don't know what you have and haven't done if you don't document it - which, again, was why I started to enter in a troubleshooting discussion, so we can get on the same page. If I assume you have done things which you haven't, it doesn't result in a productive use of the time.
If i was to harsh on you or to much ranting you just continue on the path your going and please let me know how well your studio runs so i can inform apple and mackie that you solved the problem and should follow your instructions.
"If you treat who ever you speak with treat them real nice and you'll be surprised at how much they will teach you."
Well, why didn't mackie tell me to drop files or add files or anything like you were saying.
Hmm... perhaps I might actually have some helpful knowledge that the particular guys you spoke to didn't have? Wait, I'm just some guy on a forum, I couldn't possibly know anything, right..? shrugs
I wish you luck, I'm sorry if i hurt your feelings, that was not my intention.
Well thank you for that. And no, you did not hurt my feelings, I'm old enough and ugly enough to not let some forum postings get on top of me. It just annoys me when I go out of my way to try and help people who then slap it back in my face.
Personally, I agree that LP8 and Leopard are not ready for primetime yet, and had I not the need of buying a new machine that will not run earlier OS versions, I wouldn't be making the jump either for critical work. I generally tend to wait until 10.x.5 or so, or at least until the reports come in that things are smooth. Same with Logic - generally X.0.0/X.0.1 are going to have issues, which tend to largely get sorted in later versions. But I'm kinda forced into it, much like other people buying current machines are.
But, in the few days or so of experience on a virgin 10.5.2 / Logic 8.0.1 system, it ran pretty smoothly with none of these audio dropouts that other people have been reporting. That might change with my third-party stuff involved, or with more involved usage, I can't say yet. When I get my machine back I can spend some more time and get a better understanding on what's going on.

  • Keep losing logic control (mackie controller) settings

Sometimes my logic controller stops working and I've found the way to reset it is to open up the controllers->setup window and drag the controller icon. But after that, I lose all my custom mappings. Is there a way to have these persist?

    com.apple.logic.pro.plist = main preferences file
com.apple.logic.pro.cs = control surfaces preferences file
