No Mail on iPhone After iCloud Migration

After migrating to iCloud I am uanble to get mail in my iPhone 4 (iOS5),  Message says "Cannit Get Mail The connection to the server failed".  ICloud works fine on MBP.

It's a bit different with calendars. iCloud is not fetching what's already on your Mac, like with contacts. You need to create new calenders either in iCloud or on the Mac: File>New Calender>iCloud. I am not entirely sure, though, as to whether there is a way to "transfer" existing "On-My-Mac"-calendars to become iCloud-calendars.

  • Missing password message yahoo mail and Iphone after Icloud restore

I have deleted my yahoo account from the phone and rebooted and added account back and I am still having this issue. It started when I was switching from on Iphone to another and then restored from Icloud. Everything was working fine prior to this on the old phone.

If this is your iCloud email account, go to Settings>iCloud, turn Mail off, then turn it on again.
If it's a different email account, delete the account and recreate it again.

  • Disable Yahoo Sync after iCloud migration

I am getting this pop up and it's driving me bonkers. I don't even use Yahoo sync, but I guess it was turned on when I had MobileMe. After the migration to iCloud, my MobileMe prefs have been disabled and it refers me to the iCloud prefs.
Does anyone know how to turn this off? I tried doing searched but only found solutions that required me to be able to access MobileMe preferences. So, that is a non-working solution after iCloud migration.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jen

Yes, this also driving me nuts. I gave in and said sync and it disappeared and never came back. Unfortunately, for some reason (possibly unrelated) my trial mobile me (I never paid for it), automatically appeared one day and took over 75% of all my contacts! I didn't know this and so I deleted the old mobile me account from address book which then deleted these contacts and then proceeded to wipe the rest of my devices!
I deleted all accounts off address book and reloaded a contacts back from a *.vcf file I had and presto everything back. As soon as I turned on iCloud sync again, so again did this flipping yahoo sync message appear again!
Is this because of old mobile me accounts even those that were just trials that are messing with apple cloud syncing? I have turned everything off and short of deleting my yahoo account I'm not sure what to try next!

Are you syncing your calendar with iCoud?  If so, when you check your calendar on icloud.com from your computer, do you see your calendar events there?

Mail not working after using migration assistant - what am I missing?

The mailbox list is divided into categories with headings in caps, such as ON MY MAC. When you hover the cursor over one of those headings (except for MAILBOXES), you should see the word Show or Hide on the right. Click Show. The  MAILBOXES category can't be hidden.
In each category, the mailboxes are arranged in groups, such as Inbox. To the left of each group is a small disclosure triangle. If the triangle points to the right, click it so that it points down.

  • No Mail On iPhone After Going to iCloud

I went to iCloud a few days ago.  Got mail via iPhone and iPad 2 until tonight: 8:30 NYC time.  Neither my iPhone nor iPad 2 can reteive mail. I get the dialogue box: "The User name or password for iCloud is incorrect."  Which it isn't as I went to settings to make sure everything is in order on both devices for mail.  Anyone know what I should do?  Any help appreciated.  I'm really unhappy with iCloud.  Thanks

Ok, here is my theroy.   In looking at the settings on the iPhone & iPad under mail/account/advance/outgoing mail server/primary server/
The Server is on (cannot turn it off)
but under Authentication it is set for Apple Token.  Since you cannot turn off the server and change it to id/password I came up with this temp solution until apple comes up with a fix:
    I did the following:
    under mail
    Add Account: (other)
    Mail
    Add Mail Account
    Name (Your Name)
    address (account [email protected])
    Password (iCloud Password)
    Incoming Mail Server
    Host Name: imap.mail.me.com
    address (account [email protected])
    Password (iCloud Password)
    Outgiong Mail Server
    SMTP smtp.mail.me.com
    address (account [email protected])
    Password (iCloud Password)
After your done filling out the information hit the next button & it will start to verify.  It my verify sucessfuly or come back & say it was unable to verify.  if the latter, then just hit continue.
Hit the save button & you now have access to your mail.
    It worked for me.
    Home it works for you

  • Mail Rules gone after iCloud sync

I've lost all of my Mail VIPs, Rules, and signatures.
I had two iCloud accounts.  After backing-up all vital documents and data, I put everything under ONE iCloud account.   Upon doing this, all of my vital custom features (VIP list, siggys, rules) have gone missing.
I'd like to use Time Machine to go back and restore these critical aspects of my Apple Mail experience.
    1. Where should I look for the original rules, signatures, and VIP list?
    2. Where do I restore the old data, such that it works with my current iCloud?
THANK YOU to anyone who can help me correct this set-back!

    Thank you Eric,
I wasn't clear at all in my OP, please forgive...
I do indeed see/know where my root user Library folder is.  And within that folder the Mail folder, I see the V2 folder, and within that, the MailData folder, which contains all sorts of files.  Several of these files indicate they have something to do with Rules, VIP lists, and Signatures.  (Opening to preview these files in Time Machine even shows the data, albeit in code — of these assets as they existed when working.)
Upon attempting to restore these specific assets, the backups from Time Machine are NOT restoring the lost rules, signatures, nor VIP lists.
What's making this situation unique is this:
These sorting features WERE there when I had mail syncing under two iCloud IDs. In an attempt to "unify" my iCloud experience (across my MacPro, iPhone, and iPad) — I thought my rules, siggys, VIPs were under the "master" iCloud account.  Evidently,  they were not, and I deleted the account which contained these Mail function assets.
Currently I'm at a loss, as to where I can find the backup of those original assets — and where they go once I locate them in Time Machine.  OY!!

  • Totally random Apple ID request on iPhone after iCloud sync.

After syncing my iPhone 4s with iCloud I get a totally random Apple ID request.  I am not familiar with this email at all. Most of the posts I have seen seem to be related to an old email or the email of a family member.  The email address is completely foreign to me.  Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks so much,

    Hi shailzonly,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like you edited the Apple ID that you use for iCloud. To sign out of iCloud you do need to have the Apple ID and password for that account. In this situation, it may be necessary to temporarily change your Apple ID back to the one that is signed into iCloud (no need to change the password, you can stay with your new one) and sign out. Once signed out you can edit your Apple ID back to the new email address and sign in to iCloud with that one. Please use the attached article for more information.
If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud - Apple Support
    Change your Apple ID temporarily
If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't help, try these steps:
Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
Tap Settings > iCloud. Complete these steps only if the Find My [Device] setting is turned on:
Scroll down and tap Sign Out, then tap Sign Out to confirm. If you're using iOS 7 or earlier, tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm.
Tap Keep on My [Device] or Delete from My [Device]. In either case, your data remains in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
Enter the password for your previous Apple ID.
Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
Return to Settings > iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID.
If you're still asked for your previous Apple ID password, continue to the next step.
    Best regards,
    Joe

  • Can't use Trash icon in Mail in iPhone after upgrade?

    Hello all:
Have two mail accounts on my iPhone, both IMAP. Before the switch to 5, one was POP.
At that time I could delete an email from either account by simply hitting the trash icon at the bottom
of the screen, while the email was open.
Now, tapping the trash icon in an open email brings up a d-box which reads: "Unable to move
messages. The messages could not be moved to the mailbox trash."
Next version: From the Inbox pane for either account: I hit Edit and select the emails I want to delete.
Then I tap the Delete button, which reads "Delete (1)."
Get Delete Message bar - Click the bar.
Same message appears, saying "unable to move.." etc.
My only option is to use Inbox > Edit > select email for deletion > Hit Move button > Under "Move this message to a new mailbox",
select Trash as destination > Mail is sent to Trash.
I do have my Mail prefs set to delete the Trash contents after one week.
But is there a way with fewer steps to do this? What does the Trash icon do now, if not move to trash?
    tia

I assume I only have to recreate the one that will not send mail...? The other account works fine.
Should I simply recreate it, with the same settings?
It is currently a POP account; lives in the server space for my website. Is that the issue?
Or if I reconfigure it as an IMAP - how do I determine the settings for that?

  • Sending Mail on iPhone (through iCloud) uses Apple ID?!

When i try to send mail through iCloud.com, the sending email would be my iCloud email. However, when i send it through my iPhone, my Apple ID (@mac.com) is used. As such, the mail would not be successfully sent out. I cannot change the email used to send through iCloud.
Thus, i am able to receive Emails into my iCloud Email Inbox but cannot send any mail out through my iPhone.
I was wondering if anyone has similar issues or solutions to resolve this problem.

I fooled around with the settings on the iPhone and was able to get it to send emails from @mac.com.  I think what I did was to go into "Settings" --> "Mail, Contacts, Calendars," and delete the iCloud account.  Then go back and re-add it.  When you send an email you should be able to select your mac.com address from the pulldown.
My Apple ID was a mac.com address, so I don't know if that makes a difference.  I could always select mac.com from webmail but not the phone and that seems to have reset it.  Also, this was a couple of months back so my memory might not be completely accurate.

  • Double track listing in iPhone AFTER iCloud download one with and one without iCloud logo

My phone has a number of songs downloaded from match and the. After a few days the songs will appear listed twice now with an iCloud stumble next to one. As if it doesn't realize that the track has been downloaded and is on my iPhone. It is as if it doesn't realize the iCloud tracks are already on the iPhone. It is kinda crazy and makes it unusable

I know it this post week old. But try go into settings, iTunes and App Store turn off  "Show All" for Music. If left on, it will show even show music not downloaded to your phone.
