NO MAPS OR A PICTURE WHEN USING GPS

Bassically when i try and use my gps theres no picture(just a white screen) and two flashing arrow type fonts in the top right hand corner of the phone the sattelite @ the bottom of the right hand side of the screen has a red cross over it,please can someone explain whats happening and tell me what to do.

Firstly the "two flashing arrow type font" means that A-GPS=Assisted GPS is enabled and using an active network connection. "Red Cross" means that satellite lock-on has not yet been achieved.
Go outside awy from high buildings and trees with view of open sky, hold phone with keypad slider open at 45 degrees, don't cover the "#" key as GPS antenna is below this.
Go to Menu > Tools > Settings > GPS data > Position > Open > Options > Satellite status > Open:
You need a minimum of three solid black bars, but usually get four for lock-on position.
If empty rectangles haven't turned to solid bars by 20 mins your GPS isn't working!
Now that you've determined GPS is working Open Maps application - at first there is RED CROSS on satellite icon at bottom right - this disappears when GPS locked-on
Close application and you see "saving data" above globe on screen. This creates folder structure on memory card that Maploader requires.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

I have coloured vertical lines about a quarter of the way from the left of the picture when using my apple tv 2. Anyone got any idea what is causing it. Have done a reset but still same. ATV2 is only a month old.

Just to make sure, try a different set of cables. If the problem persists, have the unit replaced by Apple.

When on Facebook (for example), Firefox is not allowing me to open pictures; when using apps, the bottom of the screen is missing so cannot utilize the apps. All working on Safari; just downloaded new Firefox 4, so seems to be a problem with this version?

HOW TO KEEP SCREEN ON WHEN USING GPS OR SHOOTING THE VIDEO

I was wondering if there any setting I could leave the screen on when using GPS or shooting the video, I'm currently set backlight timeout is 2 mins. After 2 mins device will automatically out and I have to reenter the password for continue my video, This is very inconvenience when using GPS or shooting the video.
Is there any one out there can assist? thanks in advance.

PHONE OVERHEATS WHEN USING GPS

If I use gps for long periods of time plugged in to car charger (have to charger while using gps battery drains quickly)the phone gets so hot you have trouble even holding the phones.Is this a GB issue

My phone gets warm when using the GPS in the car dock. This has happened since I bought it on launch day (Before Froyo). It seems to get a little warmer after Gingerbread, but its also summer here and the phone gets pretty warm (38-41C) during my hour long drive to/from work. When I use the speedometer, the temps stay cooler.
When you are using GPS, you are not only proccess lots of data through the display, but also using the CDMA radio quite a bit. If/when Google gets their act together and allow downloading of routes/maps to navigate with, you will see the tempetures go down. Until then, prolong use of GPS will warm the phone up.
In the winter, the phone is cooler.
Its normal for a computer processor to get warm during heavy use. Gingerbread does use more processor power than Froyo, so the phone is warmer than it was with Froyo. Nature of the beast.

My New iphone 5s gets hot quickly when using GPS and downloading apps/movies. Is this normal? My Iphone 5 never did that!

I Have had my IPhone 5s for less than a month and have noticed that it gets very hot while downloading apps/movies and while using GPS. (not at the same time) Battery life is also disappointing! Normal?? My 5 never had this problem!

IPhone 5 data network stops working when using GPS

Hello,
I have a strange problem for some time now. The DATA connection in GPS apps stop working when navigating. When I use Google maps or WAZE apps the first time after rebooting the device, everything is working just fine for first address search, but after beginning the navigation, DATA network disappears only for the navigation app, browsing is working just fine (a bit slowly, but fine).
Tried to factory reset the device few times, and changed the carrier provider, didn't help
Any ideas???

White circles in picture when using flash

When I take a picture using the flash, I get large white circles in the picture. The circles are perfectly round. They are always in the same location.
Zooming in changes the size of the circles.
I have only had the phone for a month. This just started happening a couple of days ago.

Zooming in simply enlarges the image so the circles will appear larger.
If it's only on the image when you use flash, the sensor is obviously fine so I would suggest an issue with the rear of the camera...maybe a film or smearing around the flash itself?

For some strange reason, maps don't render when using Find My iPhone.

After updating to IOS 8.1 (or maybe a coincidence), whenever I use Find My iPhone app on my phone, or Apple Maps, I only see the gridlines but no other detail about roads, etc. Anyone experiencing this, and any solution? Thanks.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen. Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then take one of the actions that you're having trouble with. Cellular signal lost when using gps related apps

Everytime I wanted to open a MAPS apps, the cellular signal will immediately dropped and after few seconds it will LOST (the "searching..." will appear). I have tried using other sim from different service provider but same problem. Anything to do with the antenna or gps hardware? or maybe software or settings related matter? if any diagnostic application such as the "field test mode" that I can try please let me know.

To rule out a software issue try a reset first. Press the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose data by resetting. If this does not work, set it up as new device without using the latest backup, explained in this article:

Google maps having trouble loading when using 3g

it's fine when i'm at home connected to my home network, but when i'm away from home and using 3G it, doesn't load. how can i get it to work when away from the house?

Let's ensure Google Maps is up and running. What device are you using? How long has this issue been occurring? Do other data services work while on 3G?

I get green fuz in my email pictures when using firefox.

I can switch to google chrome and the pictures are ok. I use firefox as my main browser.

Which mail service do you use (e.g., Yahoo, Gmail, Windows Live Hotmail)?
By default, Firefox will try to apply a color profile if it is specified in the image file. However, this does not always work out well.
You can turn off color management, or you can specify a color profile you want Firefox to use, but these settings are a bit tricky to access. You might want to try this add-on which provides a dialog to set them: [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/color-management/ Color Management].

T3i will only take picture when using view finder

Hi I'm new to the forum & relatively new to DSLR cameras. I have the t3i and love it but recently I tried to take some pictures using the view screen. It attempts to take a picture, but never actually does. If I am using the view finder it takes pictures just fine.
I asked a photographer friend to look at to see if I had accidently switched some setting. But he couldn't find anything off and suggested try a forum. So here I am

if he formatted my phone and installed a new software, does that mean I can not track him any more?
That is correct; if the iPhone is erased, you cannot track it thereafter.
Can the serial No. help in this regards?
No. An iPhone cannot be tracked solely by its serial number. The serial number will only be of help to the police in identifying you as the owner of the iPhone should they be fortunate enough to recover it.

Pixillation on picture when using external drive

Hi, I have been editing with Final Cut Pro 5.0 on my Mac Book OS 10.4.8 2GHZ !GB 667 MHz, capturing directly to my hard drive, until I recently ran out of space. I bought a My Book (Western Digital) 500 GB Premium (7200RPM firewire) drive to move all the video footage to, but after moving it, the picture in the sequence is pixillated and crappy (it worked fine when the media files were on the internal drive). Can someone help me-- is it the drive or the limitations of the computer? Or is there a way to fix this problem?

So as I look at it this morning, it looks that the video (as Quick time files) plays fine directly from the external drive. No pixillation in just playing the Quick time files. The pixillation is evident in FCP only, mostly on the high motion material. And just to repeat, the pixillation was not there when playing from the internal hard drive. I did indeed format the drive for the Intel-based Mac.
