No margin printing

Hi,
I use an epson R300 printer, but I'm unable to use its no margin feature when I use customize paper size.
I have created a special size, 18cmx28cm, I setup all margins to 0, but it still uses margin...
So if anybody has an idea...
Thanks

Try using the GIMP printer features. the following is how things work for my computer, which is currently running 10.4.7 on a G5 (I don't know if it works properly on an Intel)
If you have the GIMP printer drivers loaded (which are sometimes better than the manufacturers drivers) you may find more robust options for your printer.
Granted, I am using the R200 but it should be similar to the R300.
Choose print. Where the Copies and Pages shows up (It should be a menu button), click and choose Printer Features.
Under that you should see Feature Sets 1. Click on that and you should see another menu which includes GIMP-Print Printer.... Choose the GIMP-Print Printer Features Common With this selected you should find an option for Borderless Yes/No.
Choose Yes.
Now, I don't konw if this is going to work with older versions of the Mac OSX, but you can find more information on GIMP-Print (now called GutenPrint) here.

  • Print margin printing ...

    Hi,
I have a HP OfficeJet G85 printer. When printing a web page I can print completely the page with margins even less than 1/4". If I save the same document as a PDF file, I also can print it from Preview without loosing any information in the margins that still are less than 1/4".
Yesterday I received a PDF email attached file that I can view entirely on my computer with Preview, but when it prints the margin is larger (almost 1/2") and I loose text on the print page. I wanted to adjust my page setup in Preview to correct this but was unable to find how to do it.
Do you have an idea what is the problem ?
    Regards.

Why not post this to the *Printing, faxing and scanning* Snow Leopard forum? Do you believe this is an installation problem?

  • Margins print too big in pages

I'm using an imac running 10.8.4 and the latest version of Word and the latest version of Pages.
It's a long story.  I've got a document I created in Word.  It prints beautifully in word.  But when I convert it to a pdf, the links in the TOC cease to work.
If I open the document in Pages and convert that to a PDF the links in the TOC are perfect.
However, the Pages document has massive margins.  When I change them ALL to 0, yes, to zero, they are still huge even tho on the wysiwyg page they have effectively disappeared. When I try to print them, they are huge again.
And when I save them as pdfs, they are just as huge.
    I'm attaching screen shots:

  • Margins print numbers

    Hello,
how can you manage in numbers 3.0.1 print margins?

    Hi Fedebarebone,
Numbers 3 has lost Print View. If you had Numbers '09, it has been moved to a folder called iWork '09 inside your Applications folder.
Open a new document in Numbers '09.
    Set the margins.
    Save and close.
Open that document in Numbers 3.
    Save as Template.
Numbers 3 will keep the margin settings.
    Regards,
    Ian.

  • Re: c4450 card stock (avery 8371 business card stock) margin printing problems

I have been dealing with this for a while now. Finally researched the problem and You are right! The printer only works with less than 110 lb paper stock. It says in the the specifications. I have to go buy a new printer. Even the photopaper jams and sticks.
Sorry HP, you have to do better than this. It uses tons of ink...sick of paying $37 for printer cartridges from HP.

    nellang507,
Sorry to hear that you too have encountered the "HP Wandering Margin Problem" that occurs with sheet business card printing.
One issue is that most people don't know the 110lb stock specification or what to look for.
We had tried printing on both avery business card sheets (probably 110lb + stock) and cheaper generic business card sheets (probably less than 100lb stock) and had the same problem. Even 4 sheets of regular paper taped together on the long sides would print ok but not perforated business cards.
Here is one link to similar problems people have had as you: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Other-printing-questions/Avery-Business-Card-Printing-quot-WANDERING-MA...
    Good luck with it!

  • C4450 card stock (avery 8371 business card stock) margin printing problems

printing to plain paper works fine every time
printing to cardstock starts printing on the top edge (no margin)
if i peel the top margin perferation then it prints somewhere else on the page
did i just buy a printer that cant do cardstock? if not then how do you fix it.
this is a hardware problem (brand new printer) not a software problem - does the same thing for every software pac that i use
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

I tried printing using a matte photo paper, but it didn't work.  My HP C4280 still prints without a left margin on Avery business card stock.
This IS a bug.  It has to be.  Why on earth would anyone build a printer by design that prints without the margin just because a different paper is used?  If I print with plain paper, it prints just fine.  But when I put in Avery paper, no good.
What is the point to this?  So that Avery makes more money from customers who waste business card paper?  So that HP makes more money from customers who waste ink?  I am not happy.  This should NOT be happening.
    HP, fix this problem now.

  • PRO-100 margin print problem

Did a PRO-100 driver update recently (11.7.1.0) on my MacBook Air 10.9.5, and the right-side printing gets cut off when print articles on regular "letter paper". Not sure how this can be corrected? Thanks.

ebiggs1, thanks for a reply and i will tell you what i know.
    1. am not real computer literate, so i probably don't know some basic things....
    2. This Mac was purchased about 5 wks. ago and all i have done besides the canon printer update is update Firefox (this is the browser i use), Adobe flash p. and reader, downloaded Libre Office and Carbon Copy Cloner.
3.examples of what I print would be paragraphs in a discussion on a camera review site, or a recipe off a food website, etc., or an email i got.
    4. Since writing about my problem i experimented by clicking View on the top Firefox bar and zooming out 2X (the print size has been TOO large, also) and i also checked the box on the print screen, "Ignore scaling and shrink to fit page width"... doing these 2 things seem to solve my problem, but if you have other insights i always like to learn.
    Thanks again!

  • Preview not putting in margins when printing

I have an HP6500 e709 (Duplex) printer that is capable of no margin printing that will accept any margin arrangement from zero up to half the paper size being used. I have a document that was set up in Pages with landscape margins set for: Left - .25", right - .25", top - .75" (no header), bottom - .75", footer - .75" (10 pt type) then exported to PDF in sections because each section has its own paging. The sections were then combined into one document using "Combine PDF", a free application. When I printed this document from Preview I noticed that both right and left margins on the printed page were .5" or or more which cut off both right and left parts of most lines and in one section skipping an entire left hand column. The individual sections print properly from Pages.
Is this a problem with Preview?

I have discovered that this may be a printer driver problem though there are different symptoms on different applications but is more related to the duplex printer capability.

  • Acrobat X Pro - create PDF from Excel with no margins...ARGH!

    Hello all,
Does anyone know if it's possible to create a PDF from a selection of Excel cells without a margin appearing on the PDF file? Even if I set the print margins (print to Adobe PDF) to zero, Acrobat still puts in margins in the PDF. The background of the Excel file is black (as specified by my manager), and he wants black all the way to the edges of the PDF page.
I have to submit this weekly, and as it's several pages long I don't want to be faffing about with the crop tool each Monday morning (it already takes long enough to source the data). The current solution I have been given is to create a template in Powerpoint (HATE) and link the cells/graphs, but and paste any text boxes, and then convert from Powerpoint to PDF, as no margins are imposed this way.I know cropping would be quicker than this, but surely in this day and age it's easily possible and there's just some simple option I'm just missing?
    Regards,
    George

I have the same setup with Win 7 and Office 2010 and have created thousands of PDF from Excel sheets, but never noticed this particular issue.  Regardless, rather than fight an issue like this where no specific documentation exists, I usually resort to other options in the interest of not getting bogged down in a maddening search for answers.
Go ahead and convert to PDF so that your links are retained, etc.  Open the resulting file in Acrobat, and use the crop tool to remove the blank margins that are at issue, either maintaining proportionality or not, depending on your needs, making sure to set the cropping tool to apply the scheme to all pages.  I'm assuming that all pages are formatted the same, such that this strategy will work.  Then, apply the cropping, and sanitize the file to remove the cropping data.  At this point, your blank margins should be completely gone, and the file can be scaled for printing if that is your objective, but that will obviously introduce some white margins again at the printer.
The only other option I'm aware of to address this from the PDF side is via a third-party plug-in from Evermap called AutoPagex.  One of its features allows you to scale a document's content to the page margins, either maintaining proportionality or not.  Without proportionality, I was able to scale an Excel sheet with black background to all but a tiny sliver of the top and bottom margins in landscape orientation.  From here, I scaled the content via an additional feature to 100.5%, and all white margins were gone.  That said, it probably just as effective to accomplish this via the crop tool, assuming the page formatting remains consistent.
Disclosure:  I have no affiliation of any kind with Evermap, but did address the use of several of their products in my book, "The PDF Litigation Guide."
    Hope that helps!

  • Printing progressive numbers

    Hi All,
Below is a reply (Peter) posted and I am trying to follow it. I do
everything he outlined but when I click on section all I see is text or
blank page. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?
    Thanks
    Paul
You don't duplicate the image to 100 pages.
Make sure you are in Word Processing mode (choose a blank WP mode template).
    Select the ticket design:
Menu > Arrange > Send Objects to Background
    Menu > Arrange > Lock
    Menu > Format > Advanced > Capture Pages… > Name: > Ticket
Now use this Section available from the Section pull down menu on the Toolbar and the image will appear in the background on each page.

I need to print two part tickets for a fund raiser. I will need 160 tickets on 3x5" index cards and they need to be numbered (both parts). I followed every step as Peter outlined and named the capture and clicked OK. The only option I have on the drop down is the First Page Only.
I just tried it again and it still will not work.
    Thanks
I think there's a much simpler method than the one Peter described.
If you're printing directly on individual cards, the numbering part will be easy.
Open a blank Page layout document.
    Go File > Page Setup...
Choose a page size as close to 3 x 5" as possible. Choose the orientation that will be most comfortable when setting up your ticket.
If the page size is larger than 3x5, you'll need to either adjust a margin or add a layout guide line to keep yourself within the 3 x 5" (less margins) print area. Which margin you use depends on your printer and your page orientation.
(Modify the set-up instructions to fit your situation.)
Add the graphics objects you need. Add one or more text frames to hold the fixed text that will appear on each ticket.
Add one text box for the ticket number. In side the box type "Ticket " (no quotes, and note the space after the word), then go Insert > Page Number.
Press command-+ to increase the type size to the size you want.
Set the font and colour as you wish.
Resize the box to hold the largest number you'll need.
When all is set, Select the Text box, then press command-D to duplicate it.
Use the Metrics Inspector to rotate the second text box 270°, then drag it into position on the stub at the left end of the ticket.
Drag the first box to a position near the bottom of the main portion of the ticket.
When you are satisfied with the layout of your ticket, print a test copy.
    Adjust as (and if) necessary.
*When you have one finished copy:*
Click the View button and choose to Show Page Thumbnails.
Click on the thumbnail for the first (and only) page to select it.
Start pressing command-D to duplicate the page.
When you get 8 pages, press command-A to select all of them.
Press command-D to duplicate all of them (You'll now have 16 pages/tickets.)
Press command-A once more to select all 16 tickets.
Press command-D nine times to make a total of 160 tickets.
Scroll to check that the last card/ticket is numbered "Ticket 160".
    Print.

  • Print Jobs Stuck in Print Que

I have a USB printer connected to my MacPro (Leopard), the driver is correct, has been reloaded, print system reset, etc., all of the expected fixes for routine issues. I've replaced the USB cord, tried another identical printer, etc.
About 2 in 5 print jobs go to the print que but stop there. I work around it by unplugging the usb cord, re-plugging, and pressing resum on the print que. Occasionally I have to do that twice, but it never fails to work. What a pain-in-the-arse#$!!@ Network printers always seem to work.
There have been several similar posts over time, most of which seem to die. I don't want to install a third party driver, alter the CUPS, or do anything else other than use the OS I purchased. This seems to occur with several brands of printer (mine is an HP), so I've got to believe that it is an OS problem.
Can anyone own up to it? Is there a fix in the works? I've had printing issues with OSX since the initial OS (which could not respect margins, printer features, etc.). I've never had an issue with Windows (it just seems to work).
    Help!

Hmm. I have an HP printer that's behaved fine, but I've moved it to my iBook (running Tiger) so I can print wirelessly.
It may be an issue with the driver or the software. I'm guessing the software was written for the PPC machines, and that might be causing the problem.
The way I've checked this is to open up "Activity Monitor" (Applications>Utilities) and find the processes related to your HP printer (usually begin with "hp") under kind what's shown?
You might want to look into the CUPS idea presented earlier as it may give you better results.

  • Software Update for Brother printers disabled my printer

This morning I installed a Software Update for Brother printers and now I can't print.  Every time I try, I was gettting an error message that says some of my software is missing and it asked if I wanted to install it.  A window opened looked like it was looking in Software Update and it didn't find any software.  I deleted the printer in Printers and Faxes and downloaded the CUPS driver from Brother that says it's compatible with OS 10.7.  Now I can't add the printer.  When I go through the steps to add the printer, for Print Using I select HL-2140 series, which is the model of my printer.  I click on Add and the Add Printer window starts looking for the printer software, but I think it's looking in Software Update.  The message comes up "the software for this printer is currently unavailabe.  Please contact the printer's manufacturer for the latest software.  I did that, but how can I get it to use the driver I downloaded from Brother instead of looking for it in Software Update?

This helped with both my Brother printer and my HP AIO.  I was having marginal printer function after installing OS X Lion, then replace the Airport Express with an Airport Extreme.  That knocked out everything....After several days of loading and reloading programs in different permutations, this relatively simple step was the charm.
    THANKS!!

  • Problems for printing checks - field positions

Hello, I need help with a report
I have to do the printing of checks, the size of the check sheet is 7.6 cm in height and 22cm in width.
I have to print 4 checks on each page, then created a sheet of 30.5 cm in height and 22 CDM wide.
when I print out all the fields out of position and is small print on the sheet, the fields do not
are in the same position as in the report appear to be, I am using an HP1300 printer and sometimes
appears on the last sheet the following message "PCL XL ERROR: ILLEGAL MEDIASIZE.
    How can I fix this?
    Thank you for your attention.

We print cheques all the time and it is trial and error because depending on the version of Crystal you are using you have to take into consideration of the page margins.
print an example of the cheque on a blank piece of papper then hold it up to the actual cheque to see if the alignent is correct. once you believe you have the align correct then do a test print on a actual cheque.
