"no match" in address lookup

Thanks in advance for the help. I was on an Enterprise Server at my former employer prior to loosing my job. They took me off but since then have had this problem with address book.  I can find them by scrolling all 600+ but not easily. Also won't do lookup for email addresses either. Thanks, Phiphirn
Solved!
Go to Solution.

The 'Lookup' feature can only be used if the device is connected to the Enterprise Server, and it's used only for looking up addresses for people that do not exist in your device's Address Book.
When you go into your devices Address Book, you should be able to just start typing a first or last name and device should start to filter the addresses based on what you're type.  So if you type J then O then H, it should find any names that have JOH in them (John Smith, Mike Johnson, etc).

UM shows the contacts from the External Ldap, but when I try to bcc, or cc or to, it is not updating my destination fileds (bcc/ cc/ to). But if instead of select the List "Contacts" I select the Internal Directory (OID) it works fine?
Which argument I miss ? or how I configure UM for export the email address from the AddrLookup Window to the Message_compose Window in the destination fields (bcc or cc or to) ?
    Thanks alot for any help.

It is happening to us as well, we have OCS release 2 9.0.4.2 on Linux trying to access an external OpenLDAP linux server for shared contacts.
After we get the results of the search on the external LDAP, no button works on the Address Lookup window except "Close". It doesn't matter is we select the "Corporate Book" or other Oracle internal address books; we have to close the window and open it again to do a new search.
Are you seeing the same behavior?
I will have a phone conference today (5/11/05) with Oracle support to talk about this issue, we have had a TAR open for about 20 days now.
I'll keep you posted with the results.

  • Specific Destination Address Lookup?

Now on a dedicated GPS device, you can enter an exact destination address, and the GPS device can find it, quickly, and create a route to your destination.
Does Nokia Ovi Maps support direct address lookup on the phone?  I have not been able to get it to work.
Now you can locate an address on the phone by finding it on the map, save it to favorites, but this is tedious and time consuming, to get the street number right.
You can also enter the address online to Ovi Maps, and sync the location to the phone into your Favorites.  This works well too.   Now you have your precise destination.
Am I missing something or is this a limitation with respect to the downloaded maps to the phone?
To have precise address to GPS coordinates on the phone offline to all known addresses would make the maps too large.
This is using the phone offline.  For example, doing route planning, inside your house with no GPS or network connection.
The second case is you have your current GPS position known to the phone, since you are outside, yet the phone cannot determine your specific destination, when you enter it.  In this case, you only have a GPS satellite connection, nothing else.   I cannot enter a destination here either.
My belief is you must be "online", either WiFi or with a phone data plan, to get specific destinations.   Is this belief correct?

    Hi Biff27
The answer appears to be that it is regional variation whether or not you can navigate "Offline" to a specific address. Using v3.04 with UK maps downloaded there is no problem but talking here about small surface area compared with other countries. At one point I had world maps downloaded together with all "ClientIndex" so it certainly wasn't absence of available data to blame but no comparison to that on remote server.

  • Address Lookup option has disappeared

    hi all,
my company recently moved to google mail and i am using a BB with curve 9300. all seems to be working fine except for 2 things.
firstly when i go to compose an email on my BB and look for a company name in the address book i no long have the address lookup function. i am sure it was there when i first set up my BB with our company gmail domain.
secondly 2 way sync seems to be working fine except for when i delete a message on the BB i get the option to delete on handheld and on mailbox and select that. except it never does. i have recived the message over and over from the server. i have changed the settings so on conflicts handheld wins and still the message wont delete on the server. the sync works fine for sent items on BB calender and for read items. just wont delete.
any help would be much appreciated. have been trawling the internet for help but not found anything yet.
    thanks in advance

    Hi gjrc,
The address lookup feature is only available when using a BlackBerry Enterprise Server. If your company has switched to GMail for their mail service, they would not be using BlackBerry Enterprise Server anymore.

From the purely technical point of view I can't, other than provide a general pointer in the direction of web services...
(Thats also Free?)...however whatever technical solutions exist, they are doomed on this critieria. UK postcode data is owned by the Royal Mail and must be properly licensed: the last project I worked on with this feature [non-APEX] had a feature to count the number of postcode searches performed so that the appropriate royalties could be calculated and paid. Given the state of Royal Mail's finances I doubt that this has changed since then, or is likely to in the foreseeable future.

  • ICal address lookup

I have noticed a bug in the address lookup in iCal, it never seems to find the same addresses as it does in the native maps app which renders this function useless.
I was wondering if anyone else has found this issue or a fix.
When iCal is searching for the address the most popular are not showing according to my local area.  Also it displays missing suburb names and won't select address.
Also is this able to translate to ios7? I can't seem to get the travel times on my iPhone, with iCal on ios7 again would be great as I take my phone with me not my desktop. Just a suggestion

Ditto. If I paste in a complete address, the map function does not work. But if I slowly type the address, giving time for maps to search after each keystroke, *sometimes* I am presented with the correct address to select.
Why can't it simply map whatever address is input? Very odd.

  • Match source-address and url

I have an existing policy-map with vip and port 80. Now I need to do:
    1. Match pool of ip address and url /abc then redirect to url /abc1
    2. If url is ok but ip is out of the pool then redirect to url /abc2
It's probably possible to achieve but I have problem with mixing class maps (L4 and L7). Please advice how to do it.

  • No match defined for lookup dimension CATEGORY

    Hi,
I am trying to load data into cube and i get blelow error during import.
"No match defined for lookup dimension CATEGORY"
This is first time i setup the this cube and loading the data. I verified category dim has members.
    You help is appreciated.
    Thanks
    Ramesh

If you are using an input template in excel or loading data via data manager and have allowed default logic to run, the issue is most likely tied to the execution of default logic.  I would verify that the System constants file in the adminApp/[APP] directory has the correct dimensions named in the cube you are sending data.  If you are using a "C" type dimension that is named Scenario or some other name, you may need to verify that the constants file has the categorydim is set correctly.
Otherwise, you have some logic that may be using a business rule that depends on a category member that is not present in the application.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to fix "Email address lookup" failure

    Here is a weird one...
I have created a new nickname object which has three email addresses.
They all list OK under "View Email Addresses"
However when testing, GWIA reported "no such user". !!
After double checking the "View Email Addresses" screen for typo's, I did a Tools | Utilities | Email Address Lookup and it fails on the address, but the other two addresses for this nickname object are found OK.
So I deleted the nickname object and recreated it, but it still the 3rd email address can't be found.
Does anyone know why this is the case? Or better yet how to fix this?
    Cheers, Gordon

    Uwe,
I have synchonised the user object, and strange thing is that the nickname addresses actually appear in the user object under the "View Email Addresses" list, in the "Nickname Email Addresses" section. So the user object looks correct.
I guess that when the Email Address Lookup utility searches as does GWIA, it accesses an address list and not by actually looking at each individual user object's address list. So I just have to figure out why just one of the three nickname email addresses are not making it to this "Email Address Lookup" list.
I might look into doing a PO rebuild, unless there are any other less drastic ideas.

  • Insert Matching Records from Lookup Table to Main Table

First off, I want to say many thanks for all the help that I've been provided on here with my other posts. I really feel as though my SQL knowledge is much better than it was even a few short weeks ago, largely in part to this forum.
I ran into a snag, which I'm hoping someone can provide me some guidance on. I have 2 tables an import table and a lookup table. What I need to have happen is anytime there are matches between the "Types" in the 2 tables, I need a single instance
of the "Type" and all corresponding fields from the lookup table appended to the import table. There will only be a single instance of each type in the "Lookup" table. Below is an example of how the data might look and the results that
    I would need appended.
    tblLookup
    Type Name Address City
    A Dummy1 DummyAddress No City
    B Dummy2 DummyAddress No City
    C Dummy3 DummyAddress No City
    tblImport
    Type Name Address City
    A John Maple Miami
    A Mary Main Chicago
    A Ben Pacific Eugene
    B Frank Dove Boston
Data that would be appended to tblImport
    Type Name Address City
    A Dummy1 DummyAddress No City
    B Dummy2 DummyAddress No City
As you can see only a single instance will be inserted even though there may be multiple instances in the import table. This is the part that I'm struggling on. Any assistance would be appreciated.

I'm not really sure how else to explain it. With my example, the join would be on "Type" As you can see, there are 2 matching records between the tables (A and B). I would need a single instance of A and B to be inserted into the import table.
Below is a SQL statement, which I guess is what you're asking for but it will not do what I need it to do. With the example that I have below, it would insert multiple instances of type "A" into the import table.
INSERT INTO tblImport (Type, Name, Address, City)
    Select tblLookup.Type, tblLookup.Name,
    tblLookup.Address, tblLookup.City)
    From tblLookup
    Join tblImport on tblLookup.Type = tblImport.Type

  • Address Lookup

Can RIM add the capability for Messages to lookup addresses not only in my local Contacts but in my Corporate Exchange directory as well as my BlackBerry Tour 9630 currently does?  Thank you!

    Hello,
The Lookup function is standard in BES. If it is not working on a BES activated BB, then you need to talk to the BES admins to figure out why.
    Good luck!

  • Address 'lookup' and 'more / more all' very slow

I use an AT&T version BB 8820, and have had it now for three weeks. It syncs up with a Lotus Notes-based address book. When using the 'lookup' feature in the address book, it was retrieving addresses within three seconds during the first two weeks of ownership. But, it started retrieving addresses versy sluggishly over the last week, sometimes taking ten minutes or more to obtain an enterprise email address. At the same time, the 'more / more all' feature to retrieve truncated messages also slowed down, also from weconds to minutes. And the 'receiving more' message appears minutes after being launched.
My comapn's administrative support team as moved me to three different servers, coupled with two successive 'wipes' and enterprise activations. The problem still recurrs several hours after the rebuild.
I seem to be the only user struggling with this in my company. Do you have any idea what would be causing this?
    Thanks in advance....
    Herb B

Ok, it seems you have already covered the basics. I am wondering about the wireless portion of this setup. The 8820 is wireless. Is it possible that you can shut off the wireless to see if there is any change in the performance of the phone? Yes, this is a reach but since you seem to not have any 3rd party apps that are not running, I would think that the performance issue is either these apps are still open robbing you of memory and you think they are closed but they are not. You can view what apps are running at any given time by pressing the menu button from the home screen and selecting "Switch Application." You'll see all the open apps. There are 5 basic ones that always run and can't be shut down: BBMessenger, Home Screen, Mail, Phone and Browser.
If you are not using these apps, then unload them for a short time to see if they make any difference. Yes, I saw you had mentioned this in the first post and confirmed some slowness prior to loading the apps, but to trouble shoot the issue, you can eliminate these apps as a potential issue testing this way. You can always install them later.
Moving away from the apps issue, the other option is to reload the OS and tweek the memory. There are primers on the forums and how to's. One easy one is to remove any extra languages on the d... This can be done on the Desktop Manager.
Lastly, you may have a defective phone if the OS load does not remedy the symptom...

  • My icloud Contacts do not match my address book all contacts .. I an trying to synchronize icloud with outlook .. it does not appear to synchronize current address book with icloud

I setup icloud to sychronize with outlook ... I have been sychronizing with gmail contacts so the 2 do not match.
I would like to have one contacts file that synchronizes with outlook. How do I make the contacts file on my iphone synchronize with the icloud then with outlook?
    Ernie

Nuts isn't it. This seems to have been an issue snce dAY 1.  iT FROSTS ME THAT THERE IS NO SIMPLE QUICK WAY TO UPDATE OR CORRECT the data in both programs simultaneously.. Thats why i decided to just put everytning into the i cloud address brook, and let the one other sit and rot.
then i got smart and said, why don't I delete the outlookaddress book files. and save on confusion.
result - both addresses books  and their contents became invisible to outlook.!!!!!! and I can find no way to correct this...to go back to the imperfect world that was.
I did get the outlook contact s back from an archive - but any thing from icloud has become inaccessible from outlook.  (fortunately i can get the vcard infformation directly from icloud. but I can't access it from outlook mail.... means no replying, forwarding etc - and a time swallowing nuisance..

  • IP address lookup and Sockets

    Hi All,
I have created a Socket using java.net.Socket(String host, int port) by passing the required host, port parameters.
The host string is specified in the form of xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, even though the Java
program(client) is running on the same machine where the server socket is listening, (IP address is not specified as 'loopback address' localhost/127.0.0.1).
Below are my queries for the above mentioned scenario.
    1) When the data is sent/received to/from the Socket, will the data
travel across the network and return back to the same machine or it will be a direct send/receive within the same machine?
    2) Is the loopback address 'localhost/127.0.0.1' used internally by the underlying socket implementation without performing lookup of the IP address in the network?
    3) Does this behavior varies/depends on the underlying OS or the network
    protocol/configuration?
    Thanks in advance,
    Sreenivasulu

1: it depends upon the mechanism through which the sockets between client and server are established (in ur case the client and the server is the same machine). When u specify the localhost/127.0.0.1, port where the server is listening, then i think the request should go out to the network and the OS will handle it by it self and manage the connection then the data will not travel through the whole network. Other wise when u specify that the server is listening on 192.168.0.0:9000 then the OS will go to look up server /dns it will tell him where this system in laying on the network is it in he same netwrok or out side this network and then a connection is established now the data will travel through the network, cause it will look for the system 192.168.0.0.
2: when u will use the loopback for specific IP then the direct connection is made to the system.
3: i can say nothing about this issus how the other OS are behaving cause i had mostly worked on Windows NT/2000
i am in the learning process. If i am wrong plz correct me. And i am also very much interested for the replies from other users...
    thanx
