No matter how many times I try to upgrade or reinstall, it always installs an older version that allows pop ups and viruses to keep coming back. How do I upgrade to the latest version of firefox if it only somehow always restores the previous version?
No matter what I do, I cannot upgrade firefox, and as a result, almost every site I go on that no longer supports my browser keeps telling me to upgrade, and I keep getting back unwanted viruses. Each time I try to reinstall or upgrade firefox, all it does continuously is reinstall the old version I had previously.

When you gte requests to locate iTunes.msi like this, the Microsoft Installer Cleanup utility usually fixes it.
Here is a method for removal, clean up and reinstall of iTunes.

Download a fresh copy of iTunes and the stand alone version of Quicktime (the one without iTunes)

restart your PC
Install the stand alone Quicktime and check that it works.
If it does, install iTunes.

Linc Davis has indicated how to Force Quit out of any application that is frozen.
For your Mail issue, try the following:
- Go to Software Update to apply the new update for Mail. Not sure, but there may be bug fixes in the new version.
- Go to Disk Utility (In Applications, Utilities) and run a Permissions Repair. Then do a restart of your computer. -
I was running KeyPassFox with Firefox 8.0.1, but the plugin does not work in the new release (9) . Is there a way to restore my previous version with all of my bookmarks intact? I do not mind if I have to restore the plugins myself.
The plugin shows on the list as enabled and functioning, yet the tool does not show on the toolbar. It would appear that I need to restore the previous version of Firefox and wait until a newer release of the plugin is available before upgrading the browser.I copied the iTunes file from the external drive and it's in both places. I thought all I would need is the iTunes program (which I downloaded to new computer) and my iTunes library file. There must be something else that's missing. My iTunes library looks the same on the new computer as it does when I open it on the external drive. If I click on an iTunes library song from my new computer, it will only play if I have the external drive plugged in.
My back-up drive is a mess. I have multiple copies of music, video, photo, and document files and I don't know how that happened. ={ Obviously, I don't know how to back up stuff properly and there are back-up files extending over a 6- to 8-year period. I think all I did was just drag and drop the main folders from the back-up drive to the same main folders on the C: drive. Also (and I'm kind of fuzzy on this) Windows used to automatically save music files in a folder within my document files (which makes no sense to me). As my Jewish friends would say, "Oy Vey!" -

I have opened the plugin scanning page many times before, and have done some updating of plugins recently, but yesterday I couldn't bring up the scan, I keep getting "Plugin Finding Service Error", which says to "try again later". I believe what I updated most recently was Flash (I think). No matter how many times I push the "try again", or shut down Firefox and the webpage, I still get the error, and get nowhere!
This problem has been occurring for the past two months. I have updated Firefox to version 3.6.16...including Flash Player to version 10.2.153.1 as instructed. I am able to click on the "Add-ons" tab and "find updates" for "Get Add-ons" and "Extensions." However, the "find updates" tab is not working for "Plugins."
I followed one of your suggestions in your "troubleshooting plugins" topic (disabling the plugins...then enabling them after a check). That didn't work either. In fact, a message box would appear saying that Firefox has "disabled Flash" instead, which of course it did not, since I was able to confirm that the Flash Player update version was still intact. Unfortunately, it appears that updating the Flash Player through Firefox is not a standalone operation. Apparently it will not work properly unless a separate update is subsequently processed through Internet Explorer as well. -

You MIGHT have another appleID that has the email address you are trying to verify already as its own verified email address. You can figure this out by using the find my appleID link from the appleid.apple.com page. OR...it just isn't working and you'll have to call AppleCare, get a senior advisor who can force a verification email to be sent to you. Tomorrow morning. -
When i go to System Preferences and choose Desktop & Screensaver the system locks up and will not show any options. All i get is the circle of color and have to do a force quit. Any suggestions?

If an iPhoto or Aperture library is the source of your desktop pictures, it may need to be rebuilt, or you may need to update the application to the latest version.
Otherwise, continue as below.
Back up all data.
In the Finder, hold down the option key and select
Go ▹ Library
from the menu bar. From the Library folder, delete the following item, if it exists:
Caches/com.apple.systempreferences
and move the following items to the Desktop, if they exist:
Application Support/Dock/desktoppicture.db
Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist
Launch System Preferences and test. If you still have the issue, put the items you moved to the Desktop back where they came from and post again. Otherwise, delete the items. -
Why does my iPhone keep cancelling my syncs no matter how many times I try?
Please don't try to give me advice like "have you tried restarting your iphone?" Yes. I have. Several times.
I want to know why my syncs keep cancelling for seemingly no reason. YES I have the usb cable plugged in. YES I've updated to the latest version of iOS.
I've tried doing complete syncs. That doesn't work. I've tried managing my music manually and dragging albums into my iphone. That doesn't work. Every single time the message at the top of the itunes window all of a sudden switches to "cancelling update" or "finishing sync" and I'm left with nothing.
And this all started because I was trying to solve the problem of iCloud creating doubles of all the songs I purchased on my phone directly, which is another stupid problem that this "support" website has failed to fix. And by trying to fix it myself I've reduced my phone to a state of total uselessness as a music player.

Usually the reason for interrupted, stalled or canceled syncing alerts is a result of either security software interference or TCP/IP modifications. Also, non Apple cables and low powered USB hubs can cause this issue. Here are a couple resources that I would recommend going through as they may help resolve the issue.

I am trying to switch my imob account from my iphone to my ipad and when I try to transfer, the ipad says that i cannot transfer another imob account to it because I bound the imob account to the device that is already on the ipad. This is driving me crazy. Every time I try to permanently delete the imob app from the ipad and download a new one, it opens to my existing app that I keep deleting. I wiped the ipad clean numerous times. I even tried using a different apple id to download it. Nothing it working. Why can't I get rid of the information stored in the app that is on the ipad? It's creepy how it won't go away. So if I sold the ipad and someone else tried to download their own game, they would not be able to because my original information that is saved on the game would keep coming up. Any help is appreciated.

Adobe Flash is not working in FF 26 no matter how many times I try installing it.
I am having an odd problem where Adobe Flash Player is not working but only with FB games/apps and only in Firefox. I am able to play FB games in IE and I am also able to see Flash test videos in FF. I have tried installing v26.0b of FF as well as updating to the most recent version of Flash.
Recent crashes of certain multimedia contents (this includes Youtube videos, certain flash games and other applications) in conjunction with Firefox are most probably caused by a recent Flash update and/or a malfunctioning browser plugin such as Real Player.
In order to remedy the problem, please perform the steps mentioned in these Knowledge Base articles:

Help!!! I've used Itunes for the past 5 years and its been fine. However now on my father's computer it says when I try to download it that the feature I'm trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Then below it says click ok to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'ITunes.msi' in the box below. I have no clue what to do. I need some serious help!

IPod won't restore no matter how many times I try...
After a fall, my iPod has been showing the message telling me to restore it using iTunes. I did so, but every time it restores the same message just pops up again and it repeats...so even though it says it restored factory settings, immediately I get a message saying iTunes is detecting an iPod in recovery mode that needs to be restored. None of the R's have worked. I've tried reformatting it, and it said it didn't format properly.
I will be bringing it to a friend's tomorrow who has a mac to see if I can restore it there, but other than that is there anything else I can do?? I leave on Wednesday for Scotland so I NEED to get this fixed ASAP!You are caught in a Restore loop, probably due to a drive conflict with another device connected to your computer on the USB chain. Connect your iPod to a rear port on your computer, your keyboard and your mouse and disconnect all other USB devices including scanners, printers, modems, external hard drives, thumb drives etc. and disconnect from any network you might be on. Then change the drive letter to something much higher, like M or P or Z.
If you format your iPod on the Mac, you'll have to Restore it on your PC for it to work.

Not sure if there is a limit for the number of attempts for it, but if you can't remember the restrictions code then was it on the iPad when you last backed up ? If not then you can restore to that backup and it should be removed. If it was on the iPad when you last backed up then the only way to remove it is to reset the iPad back to factory defaults and you can then re-sync your content back to the iPad - you won't be able to restore to the backup as that will keep the code in place.
