No matter what website I visit, when I click on the box to the left of the browser bar, it tells me that my internet connection is not encrypted. I've recently got a new router. Could this be a part of the problem? Thanks in advance for any help!

That button only has useful information if there is a secure HTTPS connection like this forum uses.<br />
With a regular HTTP connection you will see the "The connection to this web site is not encrypted" message.

I need help. My itunes cd diagnostic test says everything is fine. However when I put in a cd no tracks appear. I am at a loss as what to do. I running the lastest version of itunes and have Vista. I never have had this problem before....thanks in advance for any help.

thanks in advance for any help! I am having difficulty syncing music from my iphone. this new music was uploaded to my iphone from my parents computer. I have an itunes library on their computer.
You can only sync to 1 computer at a time.
To put the music on it from the other computer, you switched the sync computer to that one.
If the music was purchased from iTunes and is under the same ID as your home computer, why don't you go into iTunes, open the store, click on the purchased link and download it from there? -
I tried renting a movie last night but was unable to. Tonight I was able to rent the same movie & have been watching it but now it is frozen on my TV. I can rewind it but it continues to freeze in the same place. I cannot forward it at all. Thank you in advance for any help.

Periodically delete all apps from the recently-used bar (double clickHome button) and power off and then back on the iPod. With iOS 5, the iPod uses more memory (do not confuse with storage) and periodically you have to reclaim memory for use.

I didn't put it there and can't delete it. I can only turn it off. Is this some kind of Malware? I am not using any other operating system with OS X Version 10.8.2
From Apple support, I found out this file is in the operating system folder. Apple support is satisfied that it's not a virus because a virus wouldn't be mixed with the operating system files. I only have familiarity with PCs and know that malware frequently disguises itself within the Windows operating system. Are there any out there who are adept with OS X 10.8.2? There must be someone. I mean, people code software for new Macs all the time. Anything would be helpfull: a book, an article--anything. I don't want to spend money on an antivirus program that may not even work and probably also slow down my computer. I went through all the major antivirus programs on my PCs. All of them allowed malware to get onto my computers. And what's worse, they couldn't delete the viruses. They would just give complicated instructions that involved manually editing the registry in Windows. The primary reason I bought a Mac is that I was told at a Mac retail store that I don't need an antivirus program; that the operating system is designed with built in barriers to malware. I thank anyone in advance for help.

I recently got a new iPad from Apple, everything was stored to the cloud now I have set up new iPad i have nothing. Apps can b replaced pics cannot. Can anyone help me please?
Sorry to read about this. A relative had a similar experience. Just a few things she was told to do. Hopefully one will get your content back. Make sure you are logged in to the same Apple Account the last iPad was. You should have a recent backup that can be downloaded to have your new iPad look like the one you replaced. When I changed from one iPad to another I used my last backup and all my apps and photos reloaded with no issues. This was done over wifi.
Another way is connecting your iPad to a computer that is logged into your iTunes account. It will show what backups you have available to download To your iPad. Again hopefully a recent backup was made of your iPad with all your most recent content.
In my cloud settings I made sure any photos I took were uploaded to the cloud to be downloaded automatically to my iPhone and visa versa.
If you had your photos setup to be uploaded to the cloud they should still be there. You just need to be logged into your Apple ID and your new iPad and I see no reason you cannot access them. Hopefully it is a simple fix.

I have an iPad 3, iPad Mini and iPhone 5S and they are all sluggish on capitalisation using shift keys. I hope that Apple will solve the problem because it is driving me crazy.
I find using a Microsoft Surface and Windows 8 phone, which I also have, work as well as all the ios devices before the ios 7 upgrade.
It has something to do with the length of time that you need to hold the shift key down. The shift key needs to be held longer than the letter key for the capitalisation to work. For some reason, this is a major change in the way we have learnt to touch type on computers. I am having to relearn how to type!

I have AVI files that I need to convert to MOV files so that I can edit them in Final Cut Pro. I am going to use Quick Time Pro for this....When I have the files open in QT Pro do I have to 'export' it or can I just 'save as', or is there even a difference? Thanks in advance for your help!
I strongly recommend you use compressor to do the conversion (if it will open the files - since quicktime will open them, it will more than likely do it.
Compressor allows you to customize presets and save them and apply them to multiple files. Although the interface may seem daunting, it's actually pretty simple.
Even if you can edit the avi in fcp, it's not a good idea. Liable to cause problems down the road. -
what happened is that my internet connection was not good so i downloaded .ipsw file from a torrent but now i cannot get it to update my ipad because ios 5.0.1 is out i tried copying files to ipad updates in the itunes folder but it still asked me to download a 700mb software update
plz helpIf you downloaded the correct version for your iPad model (and the different models have different ipsw files), then you should be able to navigate to it in iTunes by pressing and holding the shift key on Windows (command key on Mac) when clicking the Check For Updates button.

Is it possible to save a Photoshop project with multiple tabs (inducing images) for later use. Now, when I close Photoshop, it ask to save each tab separately and they are not staying in the project for later usage. Thanks in advance for you help.

Just purchased a new router yesterday since ours got struck by lightning. Now my husband's iphone and my ipad are asking for guest wifi passwords. Don't understand.
Some new routers come with the standard connection as well as a guest account. The guest account can be used for when friends come over and want to use your Wi-Fi connection. You can give them the guest account password and still keep the main account password private. Make sure you are logging on to the main connection and not the guest account.

How do I change what website opens up when I click on a new tab?
I unintentionally downloaded a Yahoo toolbar which was installed into my Firefox browser. I uninstalled the toolbar however when I click on a new tab, it opens up to the Yahoo search engine. I want to have it open up to a different page. When I click on new window it opens up to the correct site, but not new tab. How do I change this?
