No media Data \ BMPCC .dng file \ Premiere Pro 7.2.2

Hi there.
So, I just watch this cool demo explaining that now, I can finally import my raw .dng file from my lovely BlackMagic Pocket Cinema Camera into Adobe Premiere Pro CC ( version 7.2.2).
But... it still not working.
I still get the same message:
"Error Message"
"The file appears to have no media data."
The file opens up just fine in Photoshop camera raw.
So... what's going on?
Merci.

The Error is back!!!
Yesterday it worked today it crashes when I export from premiere via media encoder. I tried it with all the things you told me:
1. Bars+Tone => export => crash
2. Video Project with 2 short h264-files => export => crash
3. Software only renderer => crash
These are the two logs that I found:

I have a dng sequence shot on the BMPCC (blackmagic pocket cineme camera)
Are these files suppose to work in Premiere Pro 7.1.0?
    They don't work for me.
    Its saying.

the file opens up just fine in Photoshop camera raw.

At this time the Pocket Cinema Camera is not supported, only it's big brother is.  Please let Adobe know you'd like that changed.  Here's the feature request I submitted, if you'd like to copy/paste.
    *******Enhancement / FMR*********
    CinemaDNG Support
How would you like the feature to work?
I'd like every possible flavor of CinemaDNG files to work natively in all of the video programs of the Creative Cloud suite, including full access to RAW settings in all programs.
Why is this feature important to you?
Because I want the full quality and features available with CinemaDNG files.

  • Cannot get my tape based media to the timeline in Premiere Pro CC

Cannot get my tape based media to the timeline in Premiere Pro CC, I have eqrlier in my edit, but now I get the hand dragging it with the circle and slash on it . THis will not let the media download to the timeline anymore. What happened.... DId I hit a button and/or cause it to be locked out from loading media intot he timeline. My digital basde media loads fine.

Here is more information: I use Premiere PRo CC 7 and the taped based media in the bins are from a Canon HV30 taped based catured to PP directly in a MPEG format. I have already used some edits from this media as well as my captures from digital, which isnt causing any problems. When I mark the taped based media in the source window and attempt to drag it into the timeline the hand gets a circle and slash line on it and will not let me place it into the timeline. Yet I can still load my digital stuff into the timeline and edit normally. I need some footaghe from the tapes but cannot get it into the timeline from the source monitor even after updating, shutting down and reopening. No avail still when trying to drag the hand with the circle slash still exist not allowing it into the timeline. Previous footage on the timeline works no problem. This started yesterday.

  • No Audio after Relinking mxf Media Files - Premiere Pro CS3

    Product: Premiere Pro CS3 - Version 3.2.0
    Hardware: Pentium 4; 3 GHz; 1GB RAM
Hard Drives: Using 2 external 1TB Hard Drives for my film's storage and access
    Clips: High Def mxf files
    User Experience Level: Novice
Whenever I unplug one or both of my external hard drives - or - forget to turn them on before entering Premiere, I am required to relink my clips. After relinking, and upon entering my Project, I click "Play" in the Timeline Window to begin editing for the day - to realize: "the Audio Is Silent."
To experiment on how I can get the audio to work:
1)I've clicked on an individual mxf clip file in the Project Window
2)Clicked Media Offline in the Project menu drop down list
3)Copied and pasted the Offline Media mxf clip file to a new folder in the same project
4)Clicked on the Offline Media mxf clip file in the new folder
5)Clicked on Link Media in the Project menu
6)Dragged the Linked File into a new sequence
7)Clicked Play and Still No Audio
8)Additionally tried to play the clip in the Source Monitor, Still no Audio
A friend suggested something about offline editing - copying the file somewhere else and relinking but I'm not sure of the process now apart from what I enumerated above.
Would any of you Premiere Pro geniuses be willing to help a wannabe Premiere Pro user? I'm not giving up and appreciate any advice you could give me! Thanks in advance for your help!
    Sincerely, susan

  • Media Encoder not starting from Premiere Pro

I'm having issues Exporting from Premiere Pro - I'd rather queue it through Media Encoder so I can move onto the next edit, but when I select Queue and Media Encoder opens, it doesn't do anything - simply sits there with "Not Currently Encoding" as opposed to importing the data to export.
    Help?
    Adobe Media Encoder, 6.0.2.81
Also installed other CC products Ps, Pr, Id, Lr, Ai, etc
I have run Adobe Updater but no updates available for Me.
    Mac OS X 10.7.5 (Lion)
I am using Adobe Media Encoder through a Creative Cloud Membership subscription
Project is 6 minute film shot on Sony FS700 (AVCHD) and exports from Premiere Pro
No error message, just no action from the Application
Have not seen the problem before - most of my work is vi Canon 5D MK III, so maybe it's a Sony Codec issue? Though I have exported footage from this camera before though...
    Apple MacBook Pro, 17",
I am using  Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration in Premiere Pro
    Cheers

Finally got fed up and rang Adobe (if all else fails...)
Video Support Team Member opened my Library folder (Go\Go to folder...\~/Library/) then went into \Preferences\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder\ and changed the folder called 6.0 to 6.0old (i.e. rename it to anything else), then hit Queue in Premiere Pro and the project successfully opened in Media Encoder and was able to start encoding.
Hopefully that helps someone else suffering the same issue!

  • File failure with Adobe Dynamic link when opening a *.prproj file - Premiere Pro CS4

    Hi everyone,
I'm trying to open a Premiere Pro CS4 file (*.prproj) but the bar that appears sating 'Opening file' (or similar) gets stopped before finishing to load the file.
I tryed to export some sequences using Adobe Media Encoder CS4 (I wanted to rescue my work), but when I have to select the sequences that I want to export, it says that there is a problem with Adobe Dynamic Link.
Any idea for rescue the file?
    Thanks!

  • Avid Media Composer exchange with Adobe Premiere Pro

As many of you know, the features to exchange data between Premiere Pro and Avid Media Composer have some limitations.
The chapter from An Editor's Guide to Adobe Premiere Pro is the best resource that I've seen on this topic. (I may be biased on that matter.) I asked Peachpit Press to make this chapter available as a free download. It's linked to from this post.
I hope that this helps, if only to make it clear where the boundaries are.

Thanks Todd.  I've experienced these limitations lately so I appreciate your post. I would urge Adobe to strengthen this compatibility.

  • Media stopped playing in CS4 Premiere Pro 4.2.1

After rendering a video, the media could not be played in all windows of Premiere Pro 4.2.1. I have edited a lot of videos with this set up.
I reinstalled premiere, did not work.
I reinstalled Quicktime it worked once then stopped again.
I reinstalled Quicktime but this time it did not work at all.
I always update all my software and premiere worked fine. NO UPDATES before the incident, could it be a virus?
    OS: X 10.5.8
    Processor 2.4Ghz
    Mem 2G
    Disk space: plenty
    Thank you,
    Francis

This post is still not fixed.
After installing more RAMs it seemed that the problem was solved. Then Premiere stopped again playing media files.
I reinstalled Premiere and its updates and it works for 2 days. The third day, again, Premiere stopped playing media files.
I removed Quicktime to see if it was a problem of codex. When I tried to reinstall the new version of Quictime, the installation went fine then when I restart the computer, no Quicktime.app was visible on the computer.
I removed QT, restarted, but still QT.app still not visible via a search.
However, After I reinstalled Premiere, premiere worked for a day or two (despite not seeing QT) then stopped working again.
    I tried AfterFX, it works.
If I try to play a file with QT "using ctrl click" then open with QT, QT is not visible.
At this point, I do not know what to do, except reinstalling my computer from scratch, one program at the time to make sure I do not have any other file that is conflicting with Premiere and QT.

  • Media Encoder CC conflicting with Premiere Pro CC

Why does Adobe Media Encoder pause while exporting a video when I try to edit another video in Premiere Pro?
On the older version I was using before I upgraded, they would both run simultaneously.
Also, is there a phone number that I can call to get direct support from Adobe?
    Computer Specs:
    Mac OS X ver 10.9.5
    2.7 GHz Intel Core i5

  • Can you automatically embed Exif data in DNG files LR4

For years I have been using Bridge and ACR for my raw workflow. I use only DNG files and have the database turned off so the EXIF data is embedded right into the original DNG file. This means my files are 100% portable without and sidecar.
Can I work with lightroom 4 without having a database? OR can I assure that each DNG file has all it's setting automatically embedded as it does in Bridge?
    Thanks,
    Tom

In the catalog settings, metadata tab, there is an option to automatically write to XMP.  That should do what you want.  Since there is no sidecar file with the DNG file exif data will be written to the file.

  • Media Export not working in Premiere Pro CC

I own the latest version of Premiere Pro CC 2014 on a PC.  It's been working fine until a few days ago when I tried EXPORT / MEDIA
Nothing happens.  No crash, no window opening.. Nothing.  It sits there as if it never got the request.  I cannot get it to work.
I have opened older versions of premiere and it seems to work fine.
Media Encoder CC seems to work fine, but I like rendering from within Premiere

    You're welcome.

  • Avi files & Premiere Pro CS3

I just picked up one of those little Flip Ultras. They produce avi files and the documentation and support from Flip says that dvds can be created in third party software by importing the avi files.
So I did that with my CS3 version ... nada. I see little black boxes with a yellow line running through them.
Do I need to do something special to work with these avi files in Premiere Pro and then export to DVD?

    Kristin,
You might get some info on using a Flip, if you stop by the Premiere Elements forum. There are a couple of entries in their FAQ's (read the FAQ's for all versions, as they have never been combined). The steps for dealing with those files will carry over pretty much to PrP, as well. Link: http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.3bb574e6/
Also, there are many discussions on Flip cameras in the main forum articles (search for "Flip"), and also on www.muvipix.com, in their "Community" forums. You will need to register (free), and not need to "subscribe," unless you want to download some of their Assets.
Flip cameras present some challenges. I stongly suggest doing some reading, before you attempt a Project from one.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Problems reading xmp data into dng files

    Hi there,
I am working on a Mac and have exported files as lossy dng for colour correction externally. They have done the work for LR 5 process (I am using CC) and returned xml files. I cannot seem to read this data into the dng files for further editing in Lightroom. I have tried re-importing them and I have tried reading metadata from file. Any help would be appreciated as I usually simply read the xmp to the original RAW but the RAW files are currently on an external drive in another country!!!
    Thanks,
    Andy

    Hi Andy,
I dunno how best to get extracted xmp files into the raw folders, but if you are comfortable with exiftool, you can use it to extract xmp sidecars from DNG files.
If you want a turn-key solution which does not required you to futz with exiftool, then consider a free plugin I wrote:
    robcole.com - xEmP
It will allow you to create xmp sidecars with all your DNG adjustments and metadata (which can then be applied to the non-dng raw files).
However, if you won't need the DNGs in your catalog afterward, then the easiest way is to convert them back to proprietary raw format using this plugin (also free, and I wrote it):
    robcole.com - UnDNG
Conceptually, you can think of it as converting the DNGs to proprietary raw format, but note: it doesn't convert anything, it just allows existing raw files that are NOT in the catalog, to replace the DNGs that are in the catalog. All adjustments and metadata and everything else will be preserved (just like when you convert a proprietary raw to DNG format).

  • AE not reading all the XMP data from DNG files

I'm working on a very large time-lapse for a construction company - I have a sunset that is broken between two folders and rendering the folders seperately makes Quicktime unhappy during playback and I get an ugly jump in sunset exposure.
So I combined the two folders in Lightroom (LR) from my RAW files (NEF) and exported the entire sequence as DNG files with simpler numbering. The sequence is about 1560 files and constitutes about 22 GB of data. I created a new LR library from the DNG sequence to make sure it all looked good and it does.
I imported the same DNG sequence into AE, checked a few frames in the preview and sent it out to render. Two thirds of the way through the QT movie, exported in H.264 at 30 fps, I start seeing problems. Huge sections look like the XMP data has not been read, then there's a good section and then bad again. I matched the movie time to preview in AE and indeed saw the same problems in the AE preview. So the problem begain in AE's reading the files from the folder, not in rendering.
I went back to LR for file comparison. There was no problem in LR. All the DNGs look great.
I'm on a MacBookPro Retina with 2.8 GHz Intel processor, 16GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Ram and NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB graphics
I have the standard 69GB cache on an external drive and have 11GB RAM available for AE.
    Installed CPUs =8
CPUs reserved for other apps = 2
RAM allocation per background CPU = 1GB
Actual CPUs that will be used = 6
I have the latest AE from the Adobe Cloud, although I haven't done the most recent update yet.
My thought was to break the folder up into smaller segments for rendering, but that's not the problem. I see the XMP hasn't been consistantly read in preview. To me it doesn't make sense that the folder is too large for preview because it's not even rendering it there, just reading the files...?
    Any insight, solutions?
    Thanks,
    Dennis
