No media on Device / Auto Reset

For some reason, this morning i turned on my iPod Touch 64GB, and when I went to select Music, it stated that there is no media available on the device. It gave my the same message for Video, but all my apps & photos were still there.
I went into my General Options > Info, and it says that 56GB were being used, but Music & Video showed with ZERO files.
When I tried to go back to my main screen, the iPod froze for a minute, and then it came up with a little pop-up saying "Resetting Device" (or something like that).
Now, my device is back to factory defaults. Not a big deal, because I have all my music on my iMac, and also backed up on an external HD.
I was wondering if anyone else has experienced something like this before.

I had something like this happen to me, once, and I opted to reset the Touch. It's been working fine since. The problem had come about as a result of a software error from the Amazon store.
It's very smart that your data is fully backed up; the data is also available via iTunes, which can automatically reset your Touch.

IPhone won't activate after "auto" reset

Hi,
I went to bed at 10:30pm last night, set my iPhone alarm for 05:30am this morning, dimmed my brightness to its lowest setting (as I always do, so I don't get blinded when I check the time during the night) and then left my phone beside my bed.
This morning, when the alarm went off, I couldn't switch it off, because my iphone was in the middle of some "restore" after doing what can only be called an "automatic" reset. I had to switch the phone off to stop the alarm.
Now, I can't get past the activation screen and keep getting the "Your iphone could not be activated because the server is temporarily unavailable" screen. No matter HOW many times I try, or how long I wait between tries, it just won't complete this part.
I followed the advice in various forums, and tried connecting to iTunes. However, iTunes says "The software on the iphone has expired and must be updated to a new version" - all of which I find extremely strange as:
1) My iPhone is (was - God only knows what it's on now) on the latest build of 5.1
2) iTunes is on version 10.6 (updated recently)
3) When I clear the iTunes message, it tries to sync the phone but, obviously as the phone hasn't yet activated after the auto-reset, can't.
4) The iTunes screen showing the iPhone information states that the software is the latest version and doesn't need changing.
I'm now stuck with an iPhone which doesn't work and I don't live near an Apple store either - only a Stormfront store

I have a similar situation. I woke up with a 'bricked' iPhone. I can't get into it as I had a beta version installed and the beta has expired. I used that beta version because the stable iOS 5.0 gave me a SIM error every so many hours (after which I needed to turn on and off my phone). Tried everything, and installing the beta solved that issue for me (really glad it did). I installed it as a non developer.
I now can't update the iOS through iTunes, I can't get in my phone, I simply can't use the device as I can not get passed the developer screen. I can't even backup because a session cannot be started from iTunes. All iTunes is saying is "The software on the iphone has expired and must be updated to a new version" and when I check for update, it gives back "This version of the iPhone software (5.1) is the current version".
So I'm stuck with a great device which doesn't work.

Error: Media In Device Not Functional

I keep getting the error message, but only occasionally, when I connect my iPod Classic to my car. I have a factory cable so that I can access the content through the navigation but several times/week the iPod stops (sometimes mid song) and tells me "Media In Device Not Functional". The dealer has done a couple of "patches" that they said would fix it but it hasn't. I'm beginning to think it's the iPod itself since we have an iPod dock for our home stereo and it too was have issues with the iPod. I'm thinking of doing a Restore.

Relieved to hear I'm not the only one with this problem with the 80gb classic, I Opened mine on xmas day and it worked ok for a few days then I got the problem as described...
the ipod played music and videos fine but windows wouldnt detect it so I couldn't sync it ... tried a factory reset (hold action and menu button for 10 seconds) this didn't make any difference, I then managed to get it into diagnostic mode by doing a factory reset, then holding the action button and the left arrow before the apple logo disappears ... after going through all the keypad diagnostics which passed windows again recognised the device, I then opened Itunes which recognised that the ipod had a serious error and offered to restore it back to its factory settings, which I did, I then also updated it to the latest software
again it worked fine for a few days and then I got the same error in windows xp again ... thinking the drivers might be corrupt on my PC I tried it on a different PC but with no luck, again got the same error
My Ipod is now back at Comet ... but because of their stupid policy I cannot get a replacement as it was bought more than 14 days before I took it back, even though it wasn't unboxed till christmas day!! so it looks like I'll be without it for a while,
I will keep posted on the outcome but any other feedback would be appreciated from anyone who has had the same problem

We have blocked the items in sales order now we want after approval the blocked status should be auto reset from block to free. how to do it.

How is the approval taking place? Is it through work flow? If yes, You can write code for BDC or BAPI for removing the block after the approval step.
If it is manual approval, then you can write a program with BDC/BAPI for removing the block with input as sales order number.
Ask the approver to run this program after the approval.

I have a problem about IT-security.
In our company we are using Windows 7 Professional/Enterprise Edition.
We could easily block/forbid using of Storage Devices such as Pen Drives, USB-Flash Drives, SD-Cards via USB port on a Software Level, but we couldn't block/forbid using of
Mobile Removable Devices / Media Removable Devices such as Mobile Phones, SmartPhones, Tablets, MP3 Plyaers!
When you connect SmartPhone to PC via USB cable, it is detected as Removable Device (NOT as a Storage Device!) and can be easily used for copying Information from PC.
The question is : "Is it possible to block/forbid Mobile Removable Devices / Media Removable Devices via USB on a Software level, without disable USB ports in BIOS?" Any solution(personal PC configuration or Group Policy) would be
great.

Yes, it is.
On a DC, create a new GPO or find an existing GPO. Then edit the setting in the GPO, and link the GPO to the target scope (site, domain, OU).
Note: if we configure the setting under Computer Configuration, it applies to computers,
regardless of who logs on to the computers. While if we configure the setting under User Configuration, it applies to users, regardless of which computer they log on to.
In addition, regarding how to create, edit, and link a GPO, the following articles can be referred to for more information.

AP Downloader-"Failed to load plugins to get media from devices"

I'm using Photoshop Elements 6.0/ Premiere 4.0, the problem comes up if I try to load to either program. I have it set to automatically download my pics when I insert a media card into my computer; the following dialog box comes up when I insert a card; Adobe Photo downloader- “Failed to load plugins to get media from devices”. I tried to fix the problem by using the Adobe CD, but the program asks for “Disk 1”, the original disk is in & I have no other disks. What needs to be done to correct this problem?

Dave,
Please close Organizer and delete the folder Organizer inside your user folder @ path: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\6.0\Organizer.
This would delete your APD preferences. If relaunch doesnot fix the problem, remove your card and restart your system and try again. Let me know if this works.

New Mac Pro, USB devices auto-eject.

External USB storage devices auto eject during read and or write.
Some devices are not recognized by the computer.
USB Hard drives will consistently eject while writing data.
Spent a half day on the phone with Apple support. They gave up.

From what you said it appears that the synthesizer is not compatible. That would be a problem for the synthesizer manufacturer to resolve.

Hardware & Devices the Device Auto Detectbit recigbuze tge externbal drive.

Ran McAfee TechCheck found that Device Auto Detect is not recognize the external drive.
How do I find and fix this? Could this cause system not installing McAfee Total Protection?

Hi Granny72,
Sorry to hear about the issue your having. To clarify you have an external drive that is not showing up on your computer. What type of external drive do you have? Below is a link to a Microsoft page that will show you how to fix your issue. I would recommend that you go with the Fix It For Me option as the Fix It for Yourself has you going into the registry and if you make a mistake in there it can cause lots of problems.

Here's more information about property nodes on NI's site.
The short answer is that you right-click on the indicator, select Create_Property Node, select value and place the node on the Block Diagram. Once it's there you can right-click it and make it to writeable and create an empty array constant on the input terminal. This replaces the existing data with the 'nothing' contained in the empty array.

[Device Auto-mounting] HAL,KDE4.4 and default permissions

I have a small problem with default permissions of Automounted
Removable Devices. Whenever I mount it via KDE4.4's Auto-mounter. it
sets all files to be owned by root.

I know KDE does not mount anything, it asks HAL. nothing is in
/etc/fstab but in /etc/mtab and in /proc/mount I got

$ cat /proc/mounts
/dev/sdb1 /media/Backup ext4

I like all my files and folders to be owner by me and NOT by root.

Are you using [testing]? Partially updated system?
The error looks like you have a different version of gcc-libs / glibc than the app was built against.

Media Go - Stop Auto Sync

Hi there,
I have an Xperia Z2 and i use Medoa Go for media management. When i plug the phone into my PC via USB in auto-syncs which is fine. However the annoying thing is i'm running a USB storage device (Sandisk Ultrafit) which i have permanently placed in the back of my pc which contains all of my work (i'm self employed).
Media Go also keeps auto-syncing this device every time i start the program as it obviously sees it as removable media. Is there any way to prevent this from happening? If so i can't find it in the Media Go preferences. I thought i may be able to disable this via Windows settings (probably the wrong forum).
I'm not going to abort using the USB device so if i can't sort it Media Go will, er, have to go.
Any help would be appreciated.

The next time you connect your IPOD, check the box that pops up in ITunes 7. It should state whether the update setting is checked as "manual", if so, there s/b a grey checked box right below that says disc enabled. If that's the case, ignore what the IPOD says...Last night I was playing with this for hours and I finally was able to change the update setting to manual once I upgraded to version 7. Despite the "Do not Disconnect" warning, My IPOD had the same number of music files before and after.
You can also, charge your IPOD on a computer that doesn't have Itunes loaded.
