No mobileme gallaries showing up in Iweb?

None of my mobileme albums or movies are showing up in IWeb.
The pages that had photos or movies from my gallery are there but if you click on them in IWeb they go away and it says I need to upload items to my gallery.
anyone have any ideas about this?
Thank you!

  • Aperture galleries on MobileMe dont show up on iWeb?

I have created some galleries in Aperture and sync'd them with my MobileMe account. I also have a website hosted on the same account but these galleries dont show up in iWeb when I try and link them? Galleries created in iPhoto show up fine and work as they should, its just the Aperture ones. They are visible however if I go direct into my MobileMe page and into the galleries?

  • Websites not showing up in iWeb

I have some websites that were created in an earlier version of iWeb that show up in the Sites folder on the MobileMe website, but they DO NOT show up in iWeb. I cannot figure out how to "sync" my local iWeb with what is on MobileMe. Any Suggestions?

There is no way to "sync" your local iWeb with what is on MobileMe. Only iWeb's Domain file can be opened in iWeb. See this Apple doc on How to back up MobileMe data. It says:
Any websites you have published with iWeb should still be available within iWeb. iWeb stores everything in a Domain file, normally located in the ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder (although it can be moved). If you no longer have this file, you can view your currently published pages and manually recreate them within iWeb, but there is no way to import published pages back into iWeb.
You can manually back up the Domain file, or use Backup to back it up.
By the way, for searching purposes it may be useful to know that an iWeb '06 Domain file is called "Domain.sites" and iWeb '08 & '09 Domain files are called "Domain.sites2" — although the “.sites” extension is usually invisible.
If you don't have a backup of your Domain file (e.g. via Time Machine), paragraph 2.3 of this FAQ page gives some tips on how to use published files, graphics, photos, etc., to help rebuild the site from scratch:

  • The iWeb '08 nightmare has begun!  My ENTIRE site does not show up in iWeb!

*Remember the whole iWeb 1.0.1 fiasco?* I think we are all gonna have to live through that again with iWeb '08. During the first fiasco, it took Apple more than 2 months to issue a fix, lets hope it doesn't take them as long this sime.
*So my problem:* I imported my iWeb 06 domain into iWeb 08. It was a simple site with only 8 pages. Of those 8 pages, only the first page shows up in iWeb 08. All the other pages are just blank!!!!! I don't know what to do. Can someone please help me as I need to get changes to my site online ASAP!

    We had the same problem.
    Here's what we did.
I don't think that this first step is crucial but I'll include it as it was what we did.
    1. move the Domain file from
    ~/library/application support/iweb
    to the desktop
    2. option-click on iweb application to open it
    3. select "open domain"
    4. locate the domain file you wish to open
    That's it
This also fixed a publishing problem we were having as well
the only issue with this "fix" is that when you open iWeb after doing this, iWeb will ask you to select a domain each time. We deleted the prefences for iweb which fixed this issue but took us back to square one regarding the sites content.
I'd rather select the domain each time I open iWeb than be faced with a page without content
    Hope this helps

  • Aperture is not showing up on iWeb or iMovie

My library in Aperture is not showing up on iWeb or iMovie. All that shows up is iPhoto which I dont have much on there so right now my temp fix is transferring the photos I need to iPhoto and then using but shouldnt Aperture integrate the same way.

but shouldnt Aperture integrate the same way.
It definitely should. Have you set Aperture to always share Previews with the iLife and iWorks Appications?
Aperture main menu -> Aperture -> Preferences -> The Previews Tab
Set this to "Share previews with iLife and iWorks", also to "New Projects automatically generate previews" and select a reasonable preview size, the size of your screen would be perfect.
If you already had sharing enabled, update the previews:    Photos -> Update Previews
or  Photos -> Delete Previews, and then "Update"
If this did not help, you may have a problem, that the Media Browser does not recognize your Library:
Create a new (temporary) Aperture Library:   File -> Switch to Library -> Other/new
Then Quit Aperture, open Aperture again,
Switch to your old Library:  File -> Switch to Library ->  Your main Aperture Library
    Quit Aperture again.
Hopefully the iApps now will show Aperture.
If not, maybe there are problems with your Preferences or the Library needs fixing: Then go thru the drill of the Trouble Shooting basics:
    Aperture 3: Troubleshooting Basics: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3805
If this does not help, report back.
    Good luck

  • Do I have to subscribe to MobileMe (or whatever) to use iWeb?

I have my own domain name, and don`t wish to publish through apple, but I cannot tell if this is possible. It seems they force you to use their service. Is that correct? Thank you,
    Vlasta

Vlasta ~ No. You can publish your iWeb site to a folder and then FTP it to any host. See the end of this video tutorial:

  • Drop Shadows not showing up with iweb 2.04 in firefox please help!

Drop Shadows on my frame are not showing up with iweb 2.04 and firefox please help!
They show up with safari but not firefox. I've read that publishing to mobile me solves it but I publish to my hard drive and ftp to my host (not mobile me).
    Thanks for any help

Drop shadows, borders etc are a bad idea in that they increase the file size and the download time of your page.
Create your image, drop shadow etc on your iWeb page, take a screenshot, crop it and replace the original image with the, much reduced, JPEG>
    Example....

  • My site no longer shows up in iWeb...

I made some changes in my site and kept the pages I had deleted in a "site 2" folder. After the last iWeb update, I find that "site 1" (my published site) no longer shows up in iWeb! I went to my library folder and the only "domain" file there is the one without my published site (site 1) on it.
    Any ideas on what happened?

Open up your Finder window. Find the "user" list on your hard drive.
Open your "user" folder and navigate to: Library/Application Support/iWeb.
In the iWeb folder you should see a file entitled "Domain". Click on it and it should open up iWeb with all the information on your websites. If they still don't appear, then go to an older backup of this same file (easy with Time Machine) and try replacing the new "domain" file with the older copy.
If this doesn't work, then you are probably in the same boat I am, a sinking one...
I'm having to cut and paste all my text from off the web and re-build the site by scratch. The photos I will restore from iPhoto as drag and drop from my website will result in loss of resolution.
Like I said before, I'm glad I'm using something other than iWeb for my main website.

  • Blog page shows blank in iweb, but can see entries

blog page shows blank in iweb, but can see entries. I have search fro many help hints and currently I have deleted the Home Folder/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iWeb.plist and restarted (done this a few times) and fixed permissions.
If there is no fix for this, then can someone tell me if I can create a new blog then add the old entries to a new blog ??

Alrighty... i might have found a way to make your blog page shown again.. it's a lot of work tho! Especially if u have had a lot in your entries...
I only have 20 or so entries... What i did was, changing the blog page theme to another theme that has similarities in the blog layout page.. and then switching it back to the theme that you have...
ex. My original theme is the Modern Frame.. I switch it to Water Color theme (check if your blog page is there..) then switch it back to your original theme.
It's not done yet! You have to edit your entries again, in order to get your web original look! i edited it per post! make sure you keep saving it after you edited a little bit of stuff, just to make sure you won't lose it AGAIN...
Once I'm done, i even save another copy of a domain file on my desktop.. you know, just in case..
Mac should fix this iweb problems.. Thank god i only have a few posts by now.. What about people who has hundreds of post...
iWeb should come in handy.. Not giving us more problems..

  • Comments show up in iWeb, but don't appear on published MobileMe site??

This seems to be a pretty recent problem, perhaps with the latest update?
So I have enabled comments on my blogs, and in iWeb, the "comment" option shows up. Comments worked previously, because I had several people who had left me comments... NOW, when I publish my site (through MobileMe), the option to leave a comment doesn't even show up on my site. What is going on, here? Needless to say, I am FRUSTRATED! Any help, advice would be great, a solution would be even better.
    Thanks!

It can often be a problem with MobileMe that comments don't show up.
What is your url so that we can see what the problem is?

  • Can I add a slide show to my iWeb created site using MobileMe

    Hi there,
What I want to do is to create a folder with a load of pictures of me in them and then add them to the Home Page of my website, so that when people visit my website all the pictures play as an automatic slideshow at the top of the page and automatically scroll through all the pictures in that set.
I have created my website in iWeb 09 and it is published on MobileMe, I really hope that someone can help me because I really want this to work. At the minuet I can add MobileMe photo albums but I cant get them to play as an automatic slideshow and just scroll through all the pictures (without having to open any separate windows or anything)
    Huge thanks for you help

Jason ~ The following two suggestions don't involve MobileMe...
Here's an example of a fast loading, looping embedded slideshow (not mine):
    http://www.heese-cadieux.com
    ...and done like this:
iPhoto > select photos > File > Export... > QuickTime tab ...set width and height, etc.
Then iWeb > Media button > Movies tab ...drag in your movie created above by iPhoto.
Then iWeb > Inspector > QuickTime tab ...settings.
Note: The above generates a QT slideshow of small file size and thus appears quickly in a web browser.
An alternative approach (that doesn't require QT to be installed on the viewer's computer) is to set up a slideshow at weebly.com — open a free account there and then embed your Weebly slideshow page in your iWeb page:
Embedding a Site Within an iWeb Page
To see a Weebly looping slideshow, see the third example here:

  • Used Iweb to upload to ftp but now all my mobileme sites show up on ftp

I created a website on Iweb, then uploaded to Mobile me for final drafting process. When the client was satisfied, I moved the website to their designated ftp server using Iweb.
Now, however, all the other websites I've been creating on Iweb and uploading to Mobile Me can only be found on this client's ftp server. What happened?I checked my Mobile me settings and the other websites are set to upload to Mobile me.
The ftp server where everything seems to be migrating is ftp://dcimed.com.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Photos not showing up in iweb media browser

Hi - I'm a total Mac newbie - just switched from a windows pc today ! I'm trying to post a few pictures to the web using iweb , but when i select the photo tab of the media browser it just says I must open iphoto 2 or later to see images ??
My itunes audio shows up in the music tab - am I missing something ?
Thanks in advance for any replies
I'm using a new iMac with ilife 06 installed and have updated to the latest versions.

    mcloopingstar:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Go to the search field above and search in the iWeb forum for "open iphoto 2 or later" and you'll get a number of threads about this subject.

  • Photo Albums showing up in iWeb but not in published site

I'm publishing to an FTP server using Transmit. The site address is chrisfitzgeraldmusic.com . All of the other pages publish perfectly, but the photo albums page has never published correctly. In the past, some albums have shown up, others haven't. Within the ones that showed up, some pictures were displayed while others weren't. Just today I tried to fix this by deleting all the albums and putting in a single iPhoto album which I also rebuilt. The album displays perfectly in iWeb, but shows up as a blank photo albums page when I publish it to the FTP server. Any ideas? I'm at my wits end.

For some reason not all of the files are getting uploaded. Publish to a folder on your hard drive and open the site with your browser to make sure the photos and albums are getting created as they should.
If you using iWeb's ftp client to upload to your server then try publishing to a folder on the hard drive first and use a 3rd party ftp client like the freeCyberduck or Transmit to upload the files to the server. This might help also: Old Toad's Tutorial #2 - Uploading only those published new or newly edited files when using a 3rd party FTP client.
If you are already publishing to a folder what ftp client are you using? If it's not Cyberduck give it a try. It's well thought of here in the forums.

  • Using mobileme password protected galleries on iWeb

I have a bunch of galleries on my mobileme gallery; most of them are visible only by specific users. I would like to use them on a iWeb (password protected) web site but the option Insert-> MobileMe Gallery is only available for public galleries not for password protected ones. Is there any workaround for this?

You could try embedding a Gallery in your iWeb page — see this old thread:
...or you could hyperlink from an iWeb page to a Gallery.
