No more Facebook contacts after update

Hi,
As I was experiencing Facebook connection issues the last week, I updated Skype to the 7.5.64.101 version. After I'm asked to sign in on Facebook on Skype Start I get this message:
Facebook friends on Skype
To chat with friends on Facebook, simply add them to your Skype contacts below. You'll also be able to enjoy free voice and video calls with them too.
[Show Facebook friends]
The strange thing is, I only see a few friends who already have a Skype account. Also in the contact lists I only get to choose "All", "Skype", "Online", where I also had "Facebook" before the update. In other words, I'm not able to chat on Facebook Messenger using Skype.
I did not try a system reboot yet, because I'm running Skype on a server.
What happened? Am I the only one experiencing this?

I lost most of my contacts after updating to iOS 7.1.2 last night! I can't see the contact in my contact list but when I text/call they are there...what is going on and how do I restore this to see all contacts?

It never happened to me, but try to Reset the iPhone by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears and ignore the red slider.

amyhs, thanks for those details. This is certainly quite odd that this has been going on so long and we definitely want to get to the bottom of this. Now, you stated that you have reached out to technical support and spoke with a tier two technical support representative. At this time, what actions or troubleshooting steps were taken? Are you aware if a ticket with our network technicians was ever created? As well, have you ever previously had an iPhone and are you aware if the users that are unable to message you are using iMessage?

My iPhone loses contacts after update

My iPhone loses contacts after updates. Also I noticed the My Phone option on main contacts screen is now Gone too.

I was finally able to get into Recovery mode using a different computer with iTunes -- one I had never sync'd with. That was after having logged into iCloud and removed the iPad from 'Find my iPad'. This seems to have enabled me to reset to factory settings. That isn't entirely certain, as I had not attempted to recover using the 'different computer' prior to having removed the device from 'Find My iPad'.
Anyway. I then restored from iCloud, (it does give the choice between restoring from Cloud or iTunes).
If one doesn't have one's Apple ID this will not work. Also, now with iOS 7, you need your Apple ID -- NOT your device passcode -- if you wish to disable 'Find My i[Device]' in Settings. And you need to NOT FORGET your device's passcode. Because I'm hearing that with iOS 7 this will cease to be recoverable/resettable if forgotten.
I actually do have 'Find my i[Device]' enabled, even though I am extremely skeeved by the fact that the iPad spuriously disabled itself while riding around in my bag. I also activated 'ask to join wifi networks', so that if it ever *is* disabled it should remain 'visible' to the net, since its basic background processes appear to still run, even when disabled. Not totally sure about this, but I was able to see the device in 'Find My iPad' while it was disabled.

Many contacts are not visible to alphabetical browse on Contacts after update to OS 10.2 on the Z10

After updating to 10.2 on Z10 many contacts do not appear on the Contacts list, but if I search for them, I get them one at a time. I can't browse for them, but they are still in a file somewhere. That file is no longer fully connected to the Contacts app, it seems. I'm going to call the two alternatives the "browsible" list when I refer to the Contact app working correctly and lsiting the contact alphabetically; and the "non-browsible" list, when I can only find them by a search.
One other thing of interest. When I add a contact that is in the same name as one on the non-browsible, I will get a message asking me if I want to replace the [old] contact. If I say yes, the new contact listing joins the hidden list and replaces what was there. If I say no, I get the contact added to the browsible Contact app. Thereafter, if I search on that name I get two hits: one is the old, non-browsible entry and the other is the new one that is browsible.
I did the 10.2 update when I was running the older BB link on a WinXP computer and it did not work to create a back-up, so I can't try restore. I now run Win7 64-bit and the new link seems to work okay, but that was installed after I upgraded to 10.2..
Any suggestions as to where I go to find the hidden contact entries on the non-browsible list? And how I get them to appear on the alphabetical, browsible, list when Contacts is opened?

That's another odd thing. I did make a big effort to back-up the Z10 before the update to OS 10.2.1. But, it appears to me that by downloading the new OS to my computer [T-Mobile never does push the BB updates, not as long as I've owned it, which was a few days before the US distro, when I got hold of one for the South American market in Miami Breach] it seems to have removed my installed BB Link from my laptop. And my back-up files are empty.
Last time something like this happened. there was a workaround. Do this, do that, and suddently the contacts that are lurking somewhere on the phone, appear. I was hoping for this again.
If this is a known issue, why is it not featured on the BB page where the installer was located? I would never have downloaded OS 10.2.1, if I was warned I might lose my contacts and texts.

Yet another case of lost contacts after updating to iOS 5

I'm an iPhone noob cos my personal phone is a htc desire s and the phone I'm having problems with is my mother's.
So since I didn't see anything about iOS 5 having any major issues, I updated from 4.X.X to 5.1.1. During the process, iTunes said 'backing up phone' or something like that, but after a while it said something like 'restoring phone to factory default' and I found this weird but thought nothing of it.
After the update completed, I checked that the pictures and messages were there but didn't notice if the contacts in messages were there. Few days later my mother tells me that all the contacts were gone.
Been trying for the past 3 hours to fix it. Syncing did nothing and for some reason, iTunes only had no previous backups!! I also didn't enable iCloud when setting up the phone for the first time after updating it so the disabling and enabling iCloud didn't work. The messages didn't show my contacts so I couldn't use the 'editing a contact' method. There aren't any contacts on windows contacts or anything else and the phone is rarely connected to the computer (apple noob here).
I'm really out of ideas, many important contacts on the phone that she needs back. Any help is appreciated!

Yeah I thought I should have before doing the update but with no warning on Apples behalf of the chance of files going missing I thought I would have been safe, especially as I backed up my iPhone before hand.
Other people have been able to access their photos by using software like iPhone Explorer but even by looking in the file structure of my iPhone, none of the photos are there. I guess this just means I'll have to forget about the photos, and start again.
I think it's just weird how I still have 45 photo stream photos on my device, just none in the camera roll. :(

you can restore them if you had them backed up over icloud
or check if there's any left on your sim card (settings > mail, contacts,... > import from sim card)

If you have an Icloud backup, sign in to your account. It will reload your contacts. If over a computer, use a previous device backup, or in the sync menu of your devce, go to mail and contacts and select the info you want to copy to your iphone, if you have the contact info on your computer. If by chance dont have icloud, or a previous backup to itunes, then I'm afraid that your contacts are gone. This is why I went to Icloud as soon as I got ios 5. Hope this helps

I´m not sure what "adjourned" means, but if it has got something to do with software update, I regret to have to tell you that your contacts and sms are gone for good, if you have not followed the advice before updating, to save all data using the Nokia Content Copier within PC Suite...

Problem sync contact after Update

We have updated the BlackBerry Q10, after restart all contacts is not synchronised and unavailable ?
We work with ActiveSync (Synchronisation with Office 365) before update the BlackBerry worked fine.
I tried of deleted account Exchange ActiveSync and recreate but the contacts is synchronised ?

After any OS upgrade on a BB10 device, it will take 48-72 hours for the device data syncing of email, contacts, social apps, etc., to complete and finish. High data transfer after an upgrade cause high processor use, which in turn causes high battery usage. Likewise, high processor use will cause some lag and initial slowness. Ignore and and be patient. It can take the 48 hours for all contacts to sync back to the device. And, the battery will recover after a few days. Just don't drain your battery to 10% or less each time, top off the charge. You'll notice a difference after a couple days.

I updated my phone to the new ios 8.2 and after installing the update my contacts were gone. I didn't have them backed up to icloud. How do I get them back?

If you did a clean install then you have to manually import contacts from the sim. Try this guide to import sim contacts easily on ios 8.
OR
Try going into settings ---> Mail,Contacts,Calendars ---> Import SIM Contacts.

Hello there, I'm in deep stuff and I seriously need help.....Yesterday I plugged in my Iphone 4 to Itunes for a back up after the back up was done it asked me to update my Iphone so I did after it was done it asked me to restore it and I did but somehow the backup from last night was replaced from the backup after the update...this is what COMPLETELY blows my mine...where did that backup go? any suggestions? PLEASE someone help me i had over 4000 pictures from my sweet 16 and when i went on vacation i need them....God bless whoever finds me a solution and sorry if I'm not making sense <3.

You should be importing all pics taken with the iphone to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera, particularly before any update or restore.
You should also be syncing your contacts to your computer regularly. They hsould be in whatever program/service that you have selected to sync.
If you have failed to do this, then they are very likely gone.
You can try restoring from backup.
