Well I have and FCP5 project that I opened in FCP6, the clip is on the timeline but it just black. I have tried to reconnect through media manager but it is connected. Has anybody seen this before???

I accomplished what I needed last night. I remembered I had picked my favorite images from each year and put them in a "favorite" folder by year. These folders included 500 to 1200 images per year. I pulled up the folder for each year and highlighted all images and clicked on "Keywords" and all keywords used for all images were listed. I made those keywords persistent. It took me a while to realize I had to click on each keyword to make it persistent. After doing this for all years, I assume 95% of all keywords I have used over the many years were back in my list. I'm sure there is probably a more "technical" way to accomplish what I needed, but this seems to have worked. I also exported my list into a word document and is saved on my hard drive.
If I had not made folders with my favorite images for each year, I could not have used this method, so if you figure out a better way, I like to hear it. Thanks for your comments and willingness to help.

Why not leave the choice to let the media files in their place (in the Final Cut Events folder for exemple) in the update?
All my media files are missing for other software (like Motion) and we loose the control of our raw footage.
This would have the dual space on our hard drives to protect our original files separately.

Ok i find a part of the solution. I can Open the Package on the library in the Finder. I have everything inside. So it's good for me to keep the hand on all my medias. But others software can't open it, it's hidden (for Motion or DaVinci Resolve for exemple). I must search all neccesary files on Finder, duplicate on a normal folder to use it.

A Verizon corporate store can provide you with a nano SIM and activate it for you. Corporate stores do not charge for SIMS. I don't know what a reseller might or might not do.

I'm losing my mind here.
I have recently became aware of BT's decision to remove usage restrictions during peak hours for certain types of traffic (e.g. Peer to peer). As an existing Infinity customer ("BT Infinity Option 2") I would like to get rid of these usage restrictions as they're the only part of my current service that I find frustrating.
So my plan, as a (once) happy BT customer, was to recontract to "Unlimited BT Infinity 2" and by doing so extend my stay with BT by at least 6 months (my current contract expires in April).
This is where the fun starts...
My first attempt to upgrade was through the website. It was on MyBT that I discovered the newer packages and attempted to upgrade immediately, however towards the end of the process the website gave me an error message of 'service unavailable'.
I assumed the website was broken and so rang the customer options team, who promptly informed me that I was on the best possible package and it was completely unlimited. As I hadn't tested any P2P applications since finding out about the change in usage restrictions (I didn't realise at the time that they had been introduced in February) I gave them the benefit of the doubt.
Unsurprisingly, the next time I tried to use a P2P based application during peak hours the throttling was still evident. After doing more research on the subject it was clear that my current package would still have the same usage restrictions it had always had and that I clearly needed to upgrade. Armed with more specific product names, I tried to ring BT again...
This time I resisted the "But you're already on the best package" speech and tried to explain the difference between a download limit and traffic shaping - by the way, I find it annoying that not one of the sales team (all of whom work for a major internet service provider) I spoke to seemed to understand the difference. Eventually I was transferred to the technical department, which was useful in this case as I could check once and for all if the usage restriction was still active on my line, 30 minutes of language-barrier-awkwardness later we decided it clearly was. At this point, the lady informed me that she had put notes on my account and that I was to contact the options team the following day for further advice.
I did just that. After explaining the difference between download/traffic restrictions the sales advisor, after consultation with his manager, informed me that I would be unable to recontract until my current contract expired. This didn't make any sense to me and I proceeded to send a complaint email to BT asking why they were so against me giving the company more money and to get in contact with me to resolve the issue.
They contacted me today. And, as you can probably tell by the tone and length of this rant, they didn't resolve the issue. After the usual back and forth about download vs traffic restrictions the lady informed me in no uncertain terms that there was nothing they could do as the system would simply not allow me to get Unlimited BT Infinity 2. This seems bizarre to me as all the availability checks I have run clearly list the following:
- BT Infinity 1
- Unlimited BT Infinity 1
- Unlimited BT Infinity 2
The "system" at BT clearly has the final word. I find it very difficult, however, to believe that the reason I cannot get the service is because it is not available in my area. Removing P2P restrictions doesn't seem like it would require any major hardware changes so I believe that the "system" is simply blocking my ability to get rid of the P2P restriction as I am an existing customer.
If it is available for new customers in my area, then it is an insult to us all that BT can put the following on their website:
Some Internet service providers put restrictions on certain types of Internet traffic or limit how much you can download or upload which means at peak times of day, customers may experience slower speeds.
We don't think that's a good enough experience for BT customers so we have made all of our unlimited products 'Totally Unlimited'.
Does anybody know if there is any truth to the 'unavailable' story? Is the availability checker on the BT website broken? Has anyone had similar issues trying to recontract? Is Sky broadband any good...?

No images but the word "graphic" is read

When using the JAWS software, the word "graphic" is read in the middle of a sentence on each slide eventhough there are no images on the slide. Could someone please help!!!!

Try a reset i.e. hold the home and power buttons until the Apple logo appears. If that doesn't help you could give me a name of a book and I'll check a sample on both my iPad and iBooks on Mac.

I'd like to copy and paste a few Gigs worth of photos residing in iPhoto (ver. 5?) to a flash card - is there a simple way to do this w/o the issue of "duplicate" image numbers (when they are in fact unique images, but the translation is lost)... thx

Tried doing this a few yrs ago and it was maddening, the receiving flashcard (or desktop) kept flagging duplicate image numbers and my only choice to was to delete one or replace, when - because they are unique images - I wanted all of them to be saved on disk (is there a way to auto rename to prevent this)??? Just tried to export photos and kept getting messages that a certain photo was corrupt or some such thing and then it stopped and did not continue with export. Frustrating as I spent hours moving ~1200 photos into 2 folders on desktop. Tried doing a few at a time and one always stopped the entire export. Is there a way around this? I.e., program so it exports photos that work, does not export those that are damaged? Would be nice to know before the fact (in moving to folder) that photos have issues. HT4623 I don't know what's happened but the media sound isn't working unless I have headphones in. Games, voice notes, music, radio, touch tones and lock tones aren't working and it's also starting to not charge properly as we'll now. What do I do ?

I've tried resetting all settings and tried to alter the sound in settings. It plays ringtones and alarm works but no message alert tone or touch tone lock tone radio and when I try to turn the volume up by the buttons I just get the bell with no volume bar. I don't know what's going on it's annoying I don't wanna have to wear headphones all the time. How do I fix it ???

Best Buy has Zero iPhone4s but the AT&T store NEXT DOOR has 80 (with more arriving!)

Best Buy in Mount Laurel, NJ (1400 Nixon Drive) has ZERO iPhone 4s as of 6 PM on 6/28. Despite preordering on the 15th and I am still waiting with no word on when my phone will be in.
So I call the AT&T store that is located NEXT DOOR @ 1420 Nixon Drive. I mean it is literally right next door in the strip mall. I'm told that they received 80 phones today and are expecting a shipment of 60 to 80 MORE phones tomorrow. The rep told me that they will have extra phone for walk-ins, but it's going to be first come-first served, etc.
I mean, C'MON! It's like a bad joke.
I've heard the arguement "it's not us, it's Apple" from Best Buy, but I guess I'm not clear on why Best Buy seems to have no leverage to get their pre-orders expedited.
Heck, I don't understand why Best Buy can't, at minimum, get a straight answer from Apple about where/when Best Buy will be getting replenishment stock.
As a customer, I don't care who's "fault" it is - in my opinion, it's Best Buy's fault. Obviously, there's no universal shortage of iPhone 4s when the AT&T store is getting extras and Best Buy can't fullfill it's preorders from the 15th.
IMO, the problem is that Best Buy must have a pretty weak relationship with Apple to be treated this way. As a small business owner, if one of my suppliers was jerking me around like this, I'd sever the relationship. (Sure, I know this is more complex, but the principle is that Best Buy has a bunch of angry customers due to Apple's lack of support. That's a BAD business relationship, when your partners force you to lose crediblilty with customers).
I'll never pre-order from Best Buy again. But you can blame Apple for that ...

It simply amazes me that Best Buy continues to point fingers away from themselves. I understand the RS situation. They've never been what I'd consider an outlet for this type of situation. While sad, RS's ineptitude doesn't surprise me. Best Buy's does.
That tells me there are more fundamental problems with Best Buy. They either don't have a good relationship with their vendors (in this case, Apple). Or, they really don't have a handle on inventory and shipping basics. Maybe, as has been suggested, there's something amiss with employees taking the customer pre-orders and putting their family and friends in front of them. Still, this has happened at seemingly every Best Buy store. That tells me the problems with Best Buy are very widespread.
As I posted before, I just walked into an AT&T store yesterday and bought a 32GB iPhone 4, no reservations. Others have reported doing the same. AT&T probably has fewer stores than Best Buy. And, from what I can tell, have smaller iPhone stock than Best Buy. Yet, they handled it much better.
All pre-orders were filled first. Then, walk-ups were allowed to buy. No employees were allowed to buy them, under any circumstance, for anyone, until the customers were taken care of first. Simple concept. Apparently, too simple for Best Buy to understand.

Using button to hide an image but to stay on the slide, can do?

Hi,
I want to use a button to hide an image but WITHOUT closing the slide.
I have set it up slide with two images and a button which "hides" one of the images,but the project continues onto the next action.
I have tried No Action but as soon as I click the Hide button, the project continues onto the next slide.
If I wanted to open a url of file I would be given the ability to overide "continue playing project".
Is there anything I am missing to tell the button to not continue with the project but to stay on the
slide I am on.
I have also added a button with "continue" in the hope of holding the slide but no luck.

Hi there
I have done this using an Advanced action. Basically you do the hide and show using the Advanced Action then reposition the playhead. I put a sample up this morning that would probably illustrate this. You may download it at the link below. It has a link at the end that allows you to download the .CP file so you can pick it apart to see what I did.
The example was simply to illustrate making a button available after a check box was selected. Basically the "check box" is two images. One is hidden and the other shown. Even though it was created for a different purpose, it still holds substantial value for illustrating what you want to do.

Unable to get the media from the Endeca Experience manager version 11.0.0

Hi.,
Iam unable to get the media from the Endeca Experience Manager for my endeca app 'CRS'.
I have created the endeca app named 'CRS' using the reference app discover-data-catalog-integration and successfully initialized and indexed.Iam able to see the Indexed data in my endeca_jspref and the configurations in my Experience Manager.
I want to import the media from my experience manager(this is my actual requirement) and for this iam executing the get_media.bat cmd from my application's control folder,the cmd was executing successfully without any errors, but the media folder was not populating with any images that i can see in the Experience manager .Please do the needful to resolve this issue.

What media are you trying to import? There won't be any media returned with get_media unless you but media in to begin with using the set_media cmd. However, it's preferable to use the media MDEX rather than storing media in the ECR.
