No more iSight, so which Webcam can I buy for Mac Pro tower?

I have a new Mac Pro tower with 23" Apple Cinema display.
I need to buy a FireWire web cam. Dosn't need mic as I have headset, but won't matter if mic is built in.
I wanted iSight, but Apple don't make them and they area expensive used (UK price used is £100).
Can anyone recommend a decent web cam for use with Skype and iChat AV?

You do realise that OS 10.4.9 and above will use a USB Video Class camera without drivers ? (They are now in the OS).

I am about to purchase a new Mac Pro and am curious which video card to buy - particularly when it comes to rendering speed.
Apple offers the ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT with 256MB of GDDR3 as a standard option, with the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT with 512MB of GDDR3 as a $150 BTO option.
I primarily use AE CS3 using adaptive resolution in lieu of Open GL. The projects are very 3d intensive. My initial thought is that the NVIDIA card has more VRAM and would be a better pick - but would my $$$ be better off toward more RAM? Does using CS4 make a difference?
Any thoughts would be appreciated. And yes, I have searched the forums but have not found anything definitive.

Personally, I'd buy more RAM. The standard display card supplied with the Mac Pro will have perfectly good specs for AE and Prem Pro.

OMG help me. I have a 2008 Mac Mini - I need to skype and have tried a few webcams that either just don't work or there is no sound - I understand it nees to be the correct kind for mac... so what webcam can I use on this computer I've been researching for days and can't seem to find any definitive answers anywhere online.... what webcam can I buy for a mini mac 2008??

The entire enclosure is tuned for both external jack placement, EMI-RFI radiation, airflow, and for cooling. You need exactly the correct shell and fans for the electronics you wish to install in it.

For German, you would have to call them and make special arrangements, or pick one up an additional keyboard when you get back home.
This thing won't fit in your suitcase. Are you sure you want to pay to ship it home again? I would be tempted to sell it when you are leaving, and buy a new one at Home.
A laptop would be a better choice. These are also available with the same four choices of languages (in all models) through the online store.
You can make all the German characters and accents with the USEnglish keyboard, but some are two keystrokes.

For the sound, it depends on the HDTV. Some have a dedicated pair of red/white RCA connectors that go with the HDMI connector. I know some good solutions to a lot of problems with Mac Pros. And other readers know a whole lot more solutions.
I do not know of any problem that can be solved by replacing these boards in a nearly-new Mac Pro. The processor board is sold as a bare board, with no processors or heatsinks. It takes an hour of trained technician time just to install the processors and heat sinks, and you MUST get the correct parts or it will not work. If your technique is not correct, the processor(s) will self destruct when you power them up.
The mainboard does not include the SATA connectors, which are actually on a wiring harness that is attached from behind.
What problem are you trying to solve here?

(3) OS X already has everything it needs for Mac-compatible cams. I recommend that you not add any OS X software that comes with your chosen camera to your OS X Mac, at least until you have tested your new cam without adding anything.

This added software caution applies only to Mac OS X. For use with Windows® on a Mac, feel free to install any compatible Windows® software your external camera may need.

Which cable lock to buy for Satellite Pro P200?

In the specs it says there is a slot for a kensington cable lock, but under the compatible options tab I can't find a lock to buy.
Searching generally on the Toshiba website for cable locks, none of them are listed as being compatible with my particular model.

I am not 100% sure but such cables are not designed for each notebook brand separately and you should visit nearest PC store. I am pretty sure you will find this cable there.

Which dual DVI video card for Mac Pro?

We just got a Mac Pro at work with a single DVI port video card. Want to use 2 monitors, but don't want to order an incompatible card. Don't need screaming performance, just a stable setup for a sprawling desktop with some applications running low-res/low-frame-rate animation.
One Evga card that looked like about the right specs was shown on MacMall's site as 'platform: universal' but the manufacturer's site specifed Windows and Vista. Called MacMall and tech support said it wasn't supported. So, now I'm suspicious.
Anyone have a list of decent cards that will work? Would like to keep it at or under $100.

You could just add an adapter, though not everyone is happy with that, for your 2nd port on the GT120.

A basic MBA will be more than adequate. Take into consideration that storage may be a long term issue unless you are not averse to traveling with an external HDD.
