No more "Low Battery" alert

hi,
my macbook doesn't give me anymore the "low battery" alert...
i can't understand why...
anyone could help me?
sorry for my english...

Have you ever calibrated your battery?
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1490
Is your machine shutting down before your battery indicator gets very low... or is the display showing it has run out but just not giving a warning?
Reset your System Management Controller (SMC). This can sometimes help with power-related issues. Be sure to follow the instructions for your particular model as they vary from machine to machine:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1411
I would suggest resetting the SMC first as it is quick and simple. Calibrating your battery at this point may be difficult if your machine is not shutting down properly when your battery is low.

  • How do I turn off the low battery alert for my wireless keyboard?

The question is in the subject line. I find it kind of annoying to have to keep closing the alert window, and am still able to use the keyboard for a while past when the low battery alerts began. I tried system preferences for both alerts and for the keyboard but am not seeing how to adjust it there. Any help is appreciated! And yes I understand changing the batteries would probably help but I am comfortable using the full life of the batteries rather than changing them out right away.

Edit: Oh I found a possible, but drastic solution: disable the whole notification centre:
    http://www.tekrevue.com/tip/how-to-completely-disable-notification-center-in-mac -os-x/
I haven't tested this long enough to know if it helps yet, but it is easy to turn on again. I am so annoyed with not being able to disable these warnings that I am more than happy to disable the whole notification centre, if that is what Apple wants us to do to sort this annoyance.

  • 6750 How can I get a ''Low Battery Alert'' from my...

I have recently bought  a 6750. At one point I realized that my phone died without any warning. Went through the User Guide, nothing.
Went through the phone and only found one thing under: >Settings > Tones > Other Tones, ON or OFF. I set it to ON.
Is this going to solve my problem or is there something else that I need to set?
How can a mobile not come by default with a low battery alert?
Maybe the OVI Suite should have a GUI to help setup the phone with all the proper instructions?

the only way to find out if warning tones set to on will work is to let the battery run low again
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

  • No More Low Battery Warning

I used to get a friendly warning that my battery was running low. Now my MacBook just turns off abruptly, losing all my unsaved data. Similarly, once upon a time it would go into a deep sleep and last for hours in that state, no longer. Are these known issues? Or is the solution "buy a new battery" even though this thing is just a year old?

As an addendum to my 12 March posting, a battery re-cal didn't work.
The bundles inc BatteryUpdater and PowerManagement are still .bundle files but are listed under 'Kind' as iDVD 2 files instead of bundle files. (Uh???)
I upgraded my HDD to 250GB in Sept 07 so it has loads more stuff on now. I tried putting the old disc back in, but not allowing a s/w update and all was well. I made a copy of the .bundles. I then s/w updated the old HDD and things were still OK. Now I've swapped the HDDs back, I've got the same old problem, abrupt power down, no battery alert. I trashed the BatteryUpdater bundle and tried copying a 'good' one back into SystemConfiguration but it wouldn't let me do it without authentication. Did a s/w update to get 1.2 back but still turned out to be an iDVD 2 kind.
I thought it would be wise to stop at this point and see if anyone had any ideas?
    Does the 'kind' matter?
I see Johan Kool in his link recommends his actions to ALL MacBook users; is this OK when running Tiger 10.4.11 Johan?

  • Low battery alert tone iPhone 3GS

I was wondering if anyone can confirm if there is a way for to be notified when the battery reaches a low level by way of a tone, which is common place on all other mobile phones that I know of. After looking around I cannot get a definite answer.

iPhone does have an alert...however only when talking on it...it will alert at 20%, 10% and 5%...
if you mean while on standby...no...it only gives the screen pop up not an audible tone you can hear if not next to it
Thanks for the help ShadyMac its much appreciated.
I cannot believe Apple would have overlooked/left out a low battery tone for when the iPhone is in sleep mode. You would expect that this could be implemented easily in an update. This has surely got to be included ASAP in the next update.

  • Wireless Keyboard - Low Battery Alert - Way to turn off?

I have a wireless keyboard (macbook late 2008 model running Lion) and while I've come to terms with the speed the thing eats away at batteries, I am most annoyed by the alerts telling me how low the battery is.  I get alerts at around 15% and around 10% they pop up almost every 7-10 minutes, which is quite annoying if you're doing a bit of work. I would prefer to use my batteries until they run out or at least until they are 5% or less, yet the annoying alerts almost make me wish to throw them out now.  Clearly the easiest solution is to just always use new batteries or rechargables, but I would prefer to find a method to just get rid of the warning altogether. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    To my knowledge, no.

  • LOW BATTERY ALERT!!!

HEY! I OWN A SATELLITE A305-S6858 AND WHEN THE BATTERY  GETS TO A LOW POINT I ONLY GET A QUICK ON SCREEN MESSAGE "10% BATTERY POWER REMAINING". I CAN NOT FIND AN AUDIO ALERT LOUD ENOUGH TO WARN ME RIGHT BEFORE IT SHUTS DOWN. I HAVE GONE TO CONTROL PANEL AND CHOSEN THE LOUDEST ALERT I COULD FIND BUT IT  IS BARELY LOUD ENOUGH TO TAKE NOTICE. I AM USE TO A MUCH LOUDER AND REPETITIVE WARNING SYSTEM ON MY LAST LAPTOP (ALSO A SATELLITE).
ANY SUGGESTIONS/ADVICE ARE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.

According to Microsoft this is by design.. check this out  "Low" and "Critical" battery alarms do not sound on a Windows Vista based computer
    HOpe this helps. Thanks!

  • Low battery alert sound

    Hi
I was wondering if anyone can help me.
I have a Iphone 4, running IOS 7.2.1. When my phone is on silent mode, and the battery is on 20% or below, should it still make a beeping alert sound?
I went through the settings to see if I can turn the alert sound off but can''t seem to find it.
    Can someone help please.
    Cheers
    Dengy

Hey , no the iPhone doesn't make a sound when its draining battery . The only battery related sound is when you put your phone on the charger .
I hope this helps if you have anymore questions you can reply to me and ill try and get back to you when I can !

  • Changing Low Battery Warning Alerts

I would like to change the system settings that concern the low battery warnings. My goal would be to create a new alert OR change the low battery alert to go off when the battery charge reaches 1%. How would I go about doing this?
    Thanks

My MacBook Pro tells me approximate battery life left in the top info bar - doesn't that do it for you? I'd hate to have a pack go down to 1% - that's just too close for comfort (grin).

  • Macbook shuts down on low battery

    Hi!
My macbook powers off on low battery several minutes after low-battery alert. So nothing gets saved if macbook was left without power for a long period of time.
About first 3 month when it was new it went to sleep on low battery. But what happened now and how can I fix such a behaviour?

I believe I have found the problem...
If your battery is 0102 or 0102a firmware (check in System Profiler), then I believe it is the culprit; I have been through 4 batteries, and the only two that worked were 0110 firmware.
Another thing....if you have Secure Virtual Memory on, turn it off. I've noticed that Safe Sleep on low-battery doesn't seem to function if SVM is turned on; however, if I have SVM off and a battery with firmware 0110, it works dandy every time. I've tried SVM both OFF and with it ON with a firmware 0102 battery, and it still gives the same result--shuts down instead of hibernates.
I don't know if that will fix it for everyone, but it certainly fixed it for my last-gen Blackbook! (knock on wood)

  • My newly 7.1 updated iPhone 4S keeps restarting while showing a low battery level. does the same even if i put it on charge.

    as in title

    Hello marco.vet,
I've located another discussion on our site that provides some useful information regarding this effect.
This solved my question by Philly_Phan  on Jun 21, 2012 4:43 PM

It's probably the battery indicator, not the battery itself.  Run it down until it shuts down automatically.  Ignore any low battery alerts that appear.  Then, charge it overnight with the 10W charger.  That should clear things for you.

  • Warning "Low battery, closing down" - GONE on Mavericks OSX

    Hello
Since I upgraded to Maverick OSX, I am no longer receiving the warning / alert message "battery is 5% and closing down".
I have done SMC reset and no alert. So now I am suspecting the feature "Low battery alert"  was removed in Maverick OSX
This is critical for the cases when i dont realise it but my power cord has come out.
Watching the little icon is not great UX. I want the warning back.
I have logged feedback to Apple on this requirement.
Is there any tricky way to get an alert/warning in maverick OSX until Apple decide if they will put it back.
    thankyou

The low battery warning does not display
If you do not receive a warning when your battery has a low charge, generally reported at or under 15%, it may be because the battery menu bar icon is disabled. Please follow these steps to enable the battery status menu item:
    Open System Preferences.
    Click Energy Saver.
Enable the "Show battery status in menu bar" check box to display the battery status menu item.
Note: Portables using OS X Mavericks v10.9 or later display the low battery warning when the battery has approximately 10 minutes of power remaining. Earlier versions or OS X instead report it at 15% or less.

  • Enabling low battery notification

I've got a droid razr m using android 4.4.2 (kitkat). I want to install an audible low battery alert. I selected a sound from windows ( a .wav file) and converted it to .ogg and uploaded it to the phone's notifications directory. Would this be enough, or would I need an app for it?
I saw, in other threads, that lowbattery.ogg is located in \system\media\audio\ui. I don't see that directory listed (using usb from computer to phone). I also saw mention of using "root explorer", which I am not familiar with -- I'm using "windows explorer" in windows vista.
    Help appreciated.
    Thanks.

If you are allowed to change the low battery notification sound then you should be able to place the file in the user accessible notifications tones folder (/sdcard/notifications) and you can select the file from the available tones. The folder path you listed /system/media/audio/ui is not in the user accessible area of the phone. To make changes to that folder you have to void your phone warranty and discussing the steps to do so aren't allowed on this community forum because of the Terms of Service here.
