No more need for "Made with Macromedia"!

I noticed on the macromedia site that the "Made with
Macromedia" program does not apply to Director MX 2004. (
See
Here) Have I been using it this whole time when I didn't have
to?
Also, what is in store with Adobe now? Are they going to
treat this differently in any way?
Thanks.
Shane

>>Have I been using it this whole time when I didn't
have to?
Yup. Though it's always nice to promote Director.
As for Adobe changing anything... who knows.

  • Made with Macromedia logo...

    Friends @ Macromedia Forums:
I recently upgraded to Macromedia (Adobe?) Director MX 2004
    and I was used
to comply with the "Made with Macromedia" program on previous
    versions as
    posted on
    http://www.adobe.com/support/programs/mwm/
    but I read on
    http://www.adobe.com/support/programs/mwm/mwm_faq.html
    the following FAQ:
Q: When do I need to comply with the Made with Macromedia
    Logo Requirements?
A: If you are a user of Macromedia Authorware or Director and
    create an
end-user product to distribute outside of your organization,
    you need to
comply with the Made with Macromedia Logo Requirements. The
    Made With
Macromedia program does not apply to Director MX 2004. Please
    refer to the
product's End-User License Agreement (EULA) for more details.
I did so (refer to EULA) and couldn't find any chapter that
    instructs on how
to use the Macromedia (Adobe?) Logo.
What are the final instructions for packaging, CD cover,
    inside credits? My
native language is not English and I might have passed
    instructions written
    in the EULA.
Thanks for the help. As you can guess it's pretty urgent
    (isn't always like
    that?).
    Regards,
    Juan Daza

As of the latest version (MX2004) the MWM logo requirements
    were
dropped. You are no longer legally required to place the logo
    on the
disc or in the finished production

  • IPod setup on Mac now needed for PC with Vista

I have had my iPod setup on a Mac and now am using a PC with Vista. I installed iTunes 8.x and when I connected my iPod I was informed that it had to be reformatted for use with Windows.
This iPod is packed with music. Is there any way to salvage the content on this iPod?
    Any help greatly appreciated!

You might be able to do something with a 3rd-party ipod manager, but I suspect they are also either Mac or Windows-based, as in either/or and not "works with both". Here is a good page to start researching it.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparisonof_iPodmanagers
I would steer clear of the free ones. Also, and contact the company who sells whichever one you choose to make sure it can do what you want.
And you could see if any of your friends have a Mac, just to get the music files off the iPod and then put back on after you've Windows-formatted it.

  • Which version packages do I need for T530 with Windows 7 x64?

    - Power Management Driver:
    This version http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS032258
    Or this version http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS014939
    - Intel Management Engine Firmware:
    This version http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS028929
    Or this version http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS032435
The reason I'm asking is because Lenovo Support Driver & Software website lists all these versions for T530 with Windows 7 x64.

usually i go for the newer version.
and on my thinkpad i installed power management driver version 1.66
and for ime firmware the second link you provided.
    good luck

  • Is there any internet security needed for use with the ipad 2??

is there any internet security needed for the ipad 2?  I.e. For when you're shopping online etc?

You don't have to purchase a mouse. You already have one, it's wireless and the only one that will work on an iPad.

  • Href and target tags tutorial/help needed for use with an existing website

I have a website, (built through iweb), and an intro movie. I have spent a lot of time trying to understand the proper tags and how to use them without much luck. My goal is to have the homepage associated with my domain name load in a browser while at the same time have my intro movie open in a Quicktime Player window, play, and automatically close leaving the webpage visible. If anyone can point me to a tutorial or walk my through the process I would appreciate it.

Poster movie style. Requires QuickTime Pro:
Create an image (or a frame from your movie). This becomes the "poster". You could add text to it (Click to Play) in a graphic editor app to help your viewers or add text to the page under the image with these instructions.
Save this new file as poster.mov
It becomes the src="poster.mov" (source tag in the html code). Set its dimensions to fit your page layout.
Your "intro movie" will be your href="intro.mov" (href tag in the html code).
Open it with QuickTime Pro and then open the Movie Properties window. Click on the Presentation tab to see the choices. Automatically close option will close the QuickTime window. Automatically quit option will quit the running QuickTime Player app. This would be a better option as the browser should come back as the "front" application. You also want to check "auto play".
Use Save As (preserves fast start feature) and name this file intro.mov
In your html code for the QuickTime files you need to set target="quicktimeplayer" (this launches the QuickTime Player app instead of using the browser plug-in). It may also help if you use the full URL to both files in each tag (http://myserver.com/foldername/intro.mov).
One of mine as an example. It uses automatically close window:
    http://homepage.mac.com/kkirkster/mycareerfuture/
View the source code to see the tag structure. My page uses javascript instead of the older object/embed tag code.

  • Help need for procedure with "cursor in a cursor"

    Hi
Iam using two cursors in my procedure.
    Create SP_sample as
    cursor C1 is
    select a from A
    cursor C2 is
    select
    a,bc,d from A,B where A.a=B.a
    Begin
    For Cur_rec C1 loop
    For Cur_rec1 C2 loop
    "SELECT QUERY"
    end loop
    end loop
    end
1)the "SELECT QUERY" is working fine in Toad or sql editor.
2)The procedure is compiled without any errors
But when I am executing the procedure I am getting the error
    ORA-01403: no data found
ORA-06512: at the line where "SELECT QUERY" is starting
    ORA-06512: at line 1
can you please suggest what are the things I should be checking.
    Thanks

Could you provide a more complete example of what you are doing.
Your example is vague on the details, and it appears that you have 2 cursors both selecting from table A that you are looping through in a nested fashion, but your inner cursor is not correlated with your outer cursor. Also you have skimped on the details of the select you are trying to perform in the inner most loop of your code, and there is no indication that it has any correlation to the two outer cursors, and to top it off you have completely left out any syntactic punctuation.
why not rewrite your code thusly:
    declare
      cursor c1 is select a from a;
      cursor c2(p_a a.a%type) is select bc, d from b where b.a = p_a;
    begin
      for cur_rec in c1 loop
        for cur_rec1 in c2(cur_rec.a) loop
          select ...
          into ...
          from ....
          where ??= cur_rec.a
          and ??=cur_rec1.bc
          and ??=cur_rec1.d;
        end loop;
      end loop;
    end;

  • In Desperate need for help with Security Settings

I am currrently working on a project that requires a Flash
submenu running through an HTML Browser window and running from a
CD. The problem is that the final destination for these CDs will be
on computers without the capability to connect to the internet. So,
when the user gets the popup requiring them to change the security
setting in order to use the flash element, which is through the
internet (the dumbest way of doing this) they have no choice but to
decline the popup and therfore cannot use the flash submenu.
Is there a way to automatically be trusted whitiout the use
of the internet "security settings" window???????? If anyone from
Adobe/Macromedia read this please be advise that this should really
change to be computer based and not requiring an internet
    connection.
If this is esay enough to change, I regret everything that I
am thinking of about Adobe/Macromedia at the time I writing this.
    and please acceot my apologies.
    If not, well.....
    Thanks for anyones help.

When Exporting, you get the option of setting the Local
Playback security (very bottom of the Export dialogue box). Have
you checked to make sure you have yours set to "Access local files
    only"?
What is the submeu trying to access that would cause the
    sandbox warning?

    Hi
If you start rmiregistry on the side don't include the JDBC driver to the classpath, use CODEBASE when you start the server.
But again, please give more info.... how you start, how you compile... more traces... etc

  • What external harddrives do I need for use with new mac pro?

I just bought a mac pro late 2013 however I got the one with only 256 gigs of storage. I do a lot of video editing and was wondering if my firewire 800 owc hardrives work just as fast or should I upgrade to thunderbolt and usb 3.0 drives? My work flow is usually storing my footage on one drive and my project files on another drive. Would it really make that big of a difference to upgrade? It seems to me that when working in premiere..the actual mac pro is what really matters.

Would thunderbolt drives really make that big of a difference in terms of editing speed?
The model I use to think about this is bottleneck analysis. (A chain is as strong as its weakest link.)
ThunderBolt is really FAST. It is so much faster than the rotating drives that ...
...it does not get in the way at all (But it cannot speed anything up!)
Rotating drives can produce a single burst of data off the platters at about 125 MBytes/sec. FireWire800 is about that speed, so it will not provide much of a bottleneck. Gigabit Ethernet is a little slower, but in that neighborhood.
ThunderBolt-1 has enough bandwidth to support an eight drive enclosure with all drives working simultaneously. But it does not speed anything up.
If you transition to the fastest SSD drives in enclosures, all those numbers change. There, fastest transfer times are near 800 MBytes/sec, and Firewire800 and USB-3 get in your way.

  • Time needed for uploading with FTP ?

Is this procedure instant and painless, or is there an incubation time when you just wait ? I want to see how the site looks in the browsershot site - which seems to have a long waiting list- and feel I ought to be pressing onwards ( I'm trying to have the site up-and-running by Friday since there's a marvellous publicity chance this weekend - my site's offering services. ) Kay.

Depending on the size of you site it should not take long to upload at all. It also depends on your internet connection too and what speed of broadband you have if you have it.
If you use Cyberduck to upload, then you can see the site uploading before your eyes and can watch it. My 2.2 Mb site only took a matter of minutes to upload.

  • Best practices for working with large placed bitmap images?

    Hey all,
I need some advice on the best way to approach building these files. I've been working on some banners that are very large: 3 x 7 feet.
Each banner has a simple vector graphic treatment at the top and bottom (rectangle with a different colored rule on top, and vector logo) and a small amount of text, just a URL and a headline. The headline is type (not converted to outlines) and usually has some other effect applied to it, say a drop shadow or outer glow. Under these graphics is a full bleed image. The placed images need to be 150ppi at actual size, so they're honking big, sometimes up to 2GB. Once the layouts are approved, they have to go to a vendor for output.
The Illustrator docs are really large, and I've read in other threads how to combat that (PDF compatibility, raster settings). But even still, does anyone have any insight into the best way to deal with these things? The dimensions are large, and then the images are large, and it just makes for lots of looking at the spinning ball of death...
If it were me, I'd build them in InDe, but the vector graphics need to be edited for each one, and I so don't like to do that in InDe unless forced. To me, it's still ultimately a page layout app, not a drawing app. (Old school here.)
FYI, our machines are all MBPs with 8G ram and the latest Intel Core 2 Duo chips, 2.66 and 2.8GHz. If we keep the files local (as opposed to working on the server) it should be fairly zippy... No?
    Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

You can get into memory trouble with very large placed pdf files. Tiffs too.
This has to do with the preview, which contains much more information than you need for working with.
On the other hand if you place EPSs and take care not to turn on overprint preview you can get away with huge files.
If you do turn on overprint preview your machine will slow down a lot and the file may become totally unmanageable.
Compare this with to InDesign where you can control the quality of the preview. A hi-res preview will slow you down and most often you don't need it anyway.
I was working (in Illie) the other day on much larger files than you mention – displays for whole walls – and had some considerable trouble until I reverted to the old EPS format. They say it's dying but it ain't dead yet .
