No more sound on ipad 2 IOS 6.0.1, video don't play

The sound just recently mute both on speakers and earphones for all applications. I check fro the mute it is not active. Moreover the video can no more play. When the play buttom is hit it goes back to pause immediatly.

Here again.
Just checked that turning off and then on Calendar iColud Sync doesn't seem to work either.
I tried this as an old solution for some troubleshooting with Calendar but with no result.
Keeping trying to find a solution.

No Sound On iPad iOS 5.0.1

I updated the latest iOS last Monday (Nov. 14) and the day after while playing with an arcade game, the sound suddenly disappear. I tried may ways to have the sound back until after double clickking the Home button tapping on the speaker control, the sound came back. But it was only for a while when yesterday (Wednesday), the same problem occured. I tried many ways but it was unseccessful. the speaker control was only available when I plugged in the headset. Once I removed it, the sound disappear again.
However, when I go to setting/sound/ringtone, the sound could be played.
I think many users have had the same problem and I hope Apple could help out with this problem.

No solution here, we are all waiting on Apple to fix it. In the mean time you can try to reduce any power use on your iPad by turning down brightness etc. Keep on waiting !

wt will i do with my ipad after 1 yr. if i dont get ios updated there would be hardly any application in the appstore for 5.1.1 no?

It will probably be quite some time before all apps require iOS 6. And, as long as you have the older versions of the apps on your iPad, you will probably be fine.

IPad iOS 5 html 5 video

Since upgrading to iOS 5 yesterday I have been unable to access controls for full screen HTML5 video. Video will display and play properly when embedded in a web page, but once I go full screen I can no longer access the controls, or exit full screen. In some cases video will continue to play (audio) after exiting Safari. Re-launching Safari will bring up a blank screen, force-quitting Safari is the only way to clear the issue.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is a fix on the way?

many of us are having this issue. not sure if it's QuickTime or safari or both. I would like to hope it gets resolved but have a feeling that it won't ! if you find a fix please post it!

Iphone 5 IOS 8.1.1 videos won't play on windows 8.1

Hi,
I have recently come across a problem with transferring over videos to my PC from my iphone 5 since installing the recent update 8.1.1.
Prior to this last IOS update, I have always been able to transfer my videos across to my PC and play them using Windows Media Player V.12 with no problems.
Since installing IOS 8.1.1 I am no longer able to view these videos once they have been transferred across to my PC, Media Player stops responding and crashes. If I right click on the file to view the properties, the folder that the files are in closes instantly.
I am able to view these videos using Media Player Classic and VLC Media Player, Windows Media Player 12 does not appear to be affected in any other way, all other media content appears to be working with no problems.
We have also re-installed Windows Media Player 12 and checked to see if the latest codecs are installed, this makes no difference.
I am able to transfer the videos to another computer using windows 7 and windows media player 12 and they play correctly without any problems.
We have also tried another iphone 5 using 8.1.1 and the same problem occurs on windows 8.1.
All videos taken prior to the latest 8.1.1 continue to play with no issues.
Has anyone else encountered this problem and may know of a way to resolve this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the exact same problem! I thought it was an issue with corrupt files as the videos are not readable as videos on my Windows 8 PC. All videos prior to doing the update on my phone, work fine. After a lot of investigating, restoring pc, deleting software...I found that Windows 7 reluctantly reads the videos and an XP PC has no problem. It's obviously an incompatibility issue but the only way I have got round it. is to upload videos from iphone to youtube and to then download using 'freemake' as they are converted them to MP4 and the pc has no problem with that files type.
it's been a nightmare to sort and one that is making me reconsidering having an iphone at all. I love it but really wish I had never done the update.

Videos don't play the sound/music on my iPod.

I converted my videos, and everything, and when I try to play it on my iPod the video will play, but no music/sound to it.

How was the video converted? Many videos have two seperate tracks - one for the visual and one for the sound. If you use something like Quicktime Pro (or even itunes sometimes) it will only convert the video track, the sound stays at a codec that itunes doesn't support. You may want to try converting with a program like Handshake or isquint.
There are a lot of posts regarding this problem, might want to try and search those first.

Turn off the check mark to sync your music and also the check mark for the video. Sync the device. This will remove the items from you iPad but still keep them on your computer. Install IOS 7.1.2. Then turn on the check marks for your music and videos and resync the device.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
Restart your mobile device.

Screen ipad doesn't respond during video viewing home sharing with multiple iOS devices simultaneously

A have a problem with the videos app and iTunes home sharing on multiple iOS devices.
This is my setup. On my iMac 2006 with Snow Leopard I have:
- 100+ dvd's ripped in my iTunes movie section
- 600+ episodes ripped in iTunes TV-section in 35 TV-shows
- 1 apple tv, 1 iPad 2, 1 iPad mini
On an average evening my family is watching different tv-shows simultaneously on the apple tv, the ipad, an iphone, and an ipad mini.
This is done through home sharing on the one iTunes library.
All updated apps, software etc..
What happens on the ipads, after viewing for more than 10 minutes, the user interface doesn't show up when tapping the screen. The touchscreen doesn't respond, only the home button works. Clicking the home button closes the app, but the sound of the video keeps on playing. Opening up the videos app again gives a black screen with sound still playing and still no button or UI.
The only workaround which currently works is killing the videos app. Power off the ipad and power on again, reconnect to the shared library, wait until it has found all the content (1+ minutes) and startup the tv show again.
All in all, a nasty way to pause your viewing or switching to another movie of tv episode, or even wanting to finish viewing.
The problem has haunted me for a year now, patiently waiting and hoping software-updates would fix it. They didn't.
A fix would obviously hugely improve my user experience, getting it on par with Apples usual quality of service.
Anyone familiar with this problem? Apple: is it possible to fix it in an update?

I'am also starting to get a new problem - sometimes when waching a movie on iPad or ATV it just quits the movie and you have to start it again
on the iPad most of the time it also shows the wrong cover art. I tried all the hints here, and i works for a day or two then its wrong again

It appears your devices are experiencing audio issues. The following article provides steps which may help you find a solution:
If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker - Apple Support
Follow these steps and test the sound after each one.
Go to Settings > Sounds and drag the Ringer And Alerts slider to turn the volume up.
If you can hear sound from the speaker, then the speaker works. Continue with these steps to find the setting or switch that's affecting the sound. If you can't hear sound from the speaker, contact Apple Support.
Make sure the Ring/Silent switch is set to ring. If you can see orange, it's set to silent.
Restart your device.
Open an app that has music or sound effects. Adjust the volume with the volume buttons or the slider in Control Center.
Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn off Bluetooth.
If there's still no sound, connect a headset. If you can hear sound through the headset, remove it and clear any dust or debris from the headset jack of your device.
If the device is in a case, make sure that the case doesn't block the speaker.
Use a brush to gently clear any debris from the speaker and Lightning connector (or 30-pin dock connector). The brush should be clean and dry and have soft bristles.
Update your device to the latest version of iOS.
If you followed these steps and still hear no sound or distorted sound, contact Apple Support.

Didn't have time to do more than skim, but 'Ardour' looked promising. Protools is the only one I've used, the full product is one of the industry standards, but the free 'lite' version listed here seems to be limited to 2 in/out as well.
Referring to your original post, I'd think trying to write or 'script' something would be a nightmare ... synchronisation of streams within something like Applescript would be a major issue, quite apart from anything else.

Can I update more than one iPad and iPhone to ios 5 from the same MacBook pro? Our family has one MacBook pro and several iphones and ipads. No one wants to lose their iTunes music or contact list or calendars.

Yes, but you will want to think it through before you do it.
The computer will become the "master" device, holding the definitive collection of music, photos, contacts, etc., and each iPad or iPhone will get a copy of what's on the computer. So if everyone has different collections of music or photos that you all want to keep separate from each other, you'll want to set up different accounts on the MacBook Pro. To do that, go into "System Preferences" and click "Users", then click the "+" to create a new account for each person who needs their own set of files.
That way you can each log in to your own MacBook account before you sync your iPhone or iPad, and everyone has their own copy of iTunes and their own iPhoto. If you happen to plug in an iPhone while logged into someone else's account, you just click "don't sync" (the 1st time only, it will remember after that). Sharing the same files becomes tricky, so this is only the best method if you want to keep things 100% separate.
On the other hand, if you all have your music and photos mishmashed together on the MacBook anyway or just don't care about keeping things separate, just go ahead and sync your iPhones and iPads without setting up new accounts. But in this case, you should create playlists and photo albums in iTunes and iPhoto. Then plug in an iPhone, click on it's icon in iTunes, and change the settings for Music, Photos, etc to only sync the playlists that you want on that device. Repeat for each one. They'll all remember their own settings, and continue to sync with their designated playlists or albums.
What you cannot do is use more than one computer with a single iPhone. That will wipe out the music and photos that were on it already, replacing them with the ones on the second computer.

That has nothing to do with iTunes match. The Remote app on iPad can control the computer's iTunes but not play content from iTunes on your iPad.
To play for example iTunes imusic on iPad
You need to have Home Sharing On.
Check Settings > Music > Home Sharing (key in your Apple ID & password here, must be the same on computer's iTunes)
Start iPad's Music app, tap the ... More (bottom right), tap Shared.
Choose your iTunes' library and have fun.
