I try to sync my iPad after I did authorize the computer. But still got the message to authorize the computer and can't sync. Why???

my message told me that if Iproceeded with the sync, several applications that were not authorized would be deleted. I went ahead and synced anyway.  Apparently I had apps installed under a different password and those were the unauthorized ones.  Well I couldn't tell if any of my apps were deleted. and some may have but all worked when I did this and the sync happened

  • HT201386 If iPhoto is no more usable why did you let me buy it few month ago ?? Good job !

If iPhoto is no more usable why did you let me buy it few month ago on my iPhone  ?? Good job !

That is frustrating. You are right. The new Photos.app is not yet a sufficient substitute iPhoto.
And there was no clear warning with the upgrade to iOS that iPhoto would no longer work. Only after upgrading to iOS 8 could we find out, that iPhoto was gone.
In your case it may be too late now to downgrade back to iOS 7. It was possible right after the release of iOS 8, but by now Apple stopped signing the firmware, so you will find no trustworthy installers.
I think the best route is to send feedback to the developers, so the next Photos releases will bring back more of the advanced, missing iPhoto features.  Apple brought already the Camera Roll back to Photos.

Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not available in all countries; apps, books (not audiobooks), music, t.v. shows, and movies (some - not all studios have permitted this). Movies currently available in the USA only. Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later.  Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list, or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.  Apple notes it is your responsibility to back up your purchases.
Select the store on the left side of iTunes.
Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links.
You can re-download your available previous purchases.

  • TS1717 new ipnone takes forever to sync why

new ipnone takes forever to sync why  im on windows 7

    Define "forever".
What have you tried so far?

  • Some playlists won't sync, why and how to fix?

So far I have found 5 playlists on my iTunes library that won't sync to my iPod. I have no issue with my previous iPod or my iPhone with those playlists but only with my late 2009 issue iPod classic (160GB).
Anyone know why or how to correct this issue?

    More Information:
The the difference in the Smart Playlists that appear in the iTunes left-side folder panel but not in the Devices/iPod/Music tab panel and those that appear in both is that they all contain the Match All rule term: "Playlist is ".
I need that rule because I load only a subset (about 9,000 songs) of the songs on iTunes onto my iPod Classic. I use a Non-Smart Playlist ("My iPod List") to enumerate those songs. Thus the various Smart Playlists need to be conditioned on that ("My iPod List") Playlist subset so that they do not load other songs from iTunes. This used to work just fine. One of the upgrade revisions to iTunes (9?) or the iPod broke it. Smart Playlist Rules that reference other Smart Playlist still work correctly.
    Can this bug be fixed?

  • Error: "One or more sync tests failed"

For those who've had this issue, this may not solve your problem, but it fixed mine, so I figure it's worth trying...
I've just started experiencing this sync'ing problem with my iPod Touch (2G). Thought maybe it had something to do with some new music I had uploaded, maybe a playlist I had edited, etc etc...Nothing seemed to work. Couldn't even do a "Restore" on my Touch since iTunes would freeze up everytime I connected the USB cable. Rebooted, did everything I knew to do, all to no avail. iTunes either locked up, or, on the rare occasion when I could navigate through iTunes with my iPod connected, iTunes didn't recognize it.
    The problem? ZoneAlarm Firewall!!!
Why it just started this, I have no idea, but after umpteen things, and none of them working, I was manually closing everything down in my System Tray prior to rebooting AGAIN. As soon as I closed ZoneAlarm Firewall, voila! iTunes "unlocked" itself, my iPod was recognized, and iTunes immediately began "Syncing iPod Touch".
As I said, I don't know if this will help anyone else, but if you're running ZoneAlarm Firewall on your PC (I'm running XP Pro SP2), it might help to shut ZoneAlarm down and see if that solves your problem. It worked for me, and tomorrow, I'll be getting a different firewall.
This is not the first issue we've had with ZoneAlarm's firewall being a bit overzealous...
    Hope this helps someone out.

I too am having this type of problem, I'm hoping for some real help here:
It has all stemmed from a recent occurrence of this error I get when trying to sync anything (Movies,Podcasts, etc):
    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Runtime Error!
    Program: C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe
    R6025
    -pure virtual function call
I did some research and did a iTunes diagnostic and it says that there is a problem syncing one or more things with the my iPod and im hoping their is a matching solution. Anyone know what I should do? Ive tried reinstalling iTunes from scratch, using a registry cleaner, and an Adaware scan, all including individual restarts and such to no avail. I need a real genius to help me or an actual Apple representative!

  • +15 minutes to backup everytime I sync , why ?

    Hi brothers ,
everytime I try to sync I got backing up aatkco's iPhone
that's great but the proplem is that operation takes more than 15 minutes to finish !!
Any ideas or solutions are appreciated .
    Thanks

Actually, things seem to have sorted themselves out. The first three or four backups were long nearly 1 hour affairs. Between each backup, I would send and receive email, work in a couple of apps and then sync again. After the third sync, I'd say, syncs + backup or just a backup would complete in a few minutes.
The only thing that I changed was resetting the warnings so that I could disable sending info back to Apple (a possible culprit of long backups/syncs from a prior software update - Sorry Apple, you've probably got a boatload of info from my iPhone since the 3.0 update already). Probably a red herring, but I figured why not?
So, at this point syncs (which were never a problem and have always completed in a few minutes) and backups (which is what iTunes indicated was taking forever to complete) are working the way they did on 2.2.1. Nothing significant was changed. I just kept running backups until it worked as expected. No real explanation. I wish I had better info to help others having this problem.

  • More Feedback: Why I chose Nokia and why it won'...

This is more feedback for Nokia, following up to my previous post.  I would like everyone to share their thoughts too.  I'd like to see Nokia Listen to customers for once.
I bought an E7 due the following:
Unlocked phone = no capped data plan that costs twice as much as the one I had, which is really unlimited.
Full real keyboard--I'm a tactile person--need the keys.
Free Voice Navigation--which I use a lot when traveling for business.
Ability to turn phone into wireless hotspot -- with JoikuSpot Premium. (third party)
Abillity to selectively block/route calls--with Advanced Call Manager.  A must-have app for on-call people. (third party)
PDF Reader -- Nothing better than reading PDFs without my laptop.
Office Suite -- Great for on-the-go editing and viewing.
Zip - Built-in Zip Tool is also a big plus for me.
SIP Client Built-in -- I use this a LOT as a second line when I am not traveling and as a backup line (in case of poor service) when I am traveling.
Nokia Internet Radio -- I use this a lot.  Love having free internet radio available.
FM Radio -- I don't use this much but it's a nice to have.
Lotus Traveler Support -- For my Corporate E-mail.   Too bad IBM discontinued Lotus Mobible Connect (VPN) support for Symbian^3.
    Reasons I almost didn't buy an E7
Battery life -- unlike my prior E71 (which I now regret switching from) the battery life is average.  My E71 would run for a full day of solid use.  I knew going in that it wasn't going to be great battery life--usually a hallmark of E Series--and thought I could live with it.  I can, but I wish the battery life was on-par with previous offerings.
No SD/xD/Any Compact Flash Slot -- Truthfully, I can get by on the 16G in the phone, but if I had the ability to use removeable memory, I'd be able to take movies (as MKV or MP4s), music, etc., as I go.
Battery not removeable--this is a real problem for business users.  Multi-hour conference calls, etc.,  We need to be able to swap batteries.  This was my biggest detractor.
Poor Software options compared to other platforms.  This passed because the phone includes the things I needed/wanted most.
The worst built-in VPN on the planet.  I have a lot of IT infrastructure experience.  Few enterprise class devices as a complex and troublesome to configure as Nokia VPN.  It makes what would be a game-changing feature useless.
Reasons why I will switch to another mobile platform
Build quality increased for other mobile platforms.
Functionality has dramatically increased for other mobile platforms.
Costs are such that I can pay out of pocket for the extra features I want (that Symbian gives for free) and still get a phone for less with better support and available software choices than Nokia provides.
I am not convinced that Symbian will live beyond the next few years--being that I pay out of pocket for phones, I want them to last 3-4 years.  I am not sure that they will now.
Reasons why I will never buy another Nokia Product
You no longer support the US.  You've pretty much given up.  Only a token effort is made.  Carriers don't have your good phones anymore and the ones they did have were crippled beyond belief, damaging/removing/disabling the most appealing features in place of carrier crapware and high prices.
Product Quality has declined.  Nokia has lost marketshare faster than a submarine with a screen door takes on water--which has lead to staffing cuts and you can tell.  The changes between one generation of products is noticeable--what was once superb is now just average to good.
Software Updates--you did fix the most awful thing with prior Symbian Updates--they are no longer destructive.  Fantastic.  I was so happy to get this ability.  But, your lack of scheduling and customer expectation setting is unforgiveable.  Most of us are willing to put up with a reduced experience by you committing to making things better--at some point.  Release dates, especially in the US are a black hole.  All your US customers buy your products outright--usually at a cost of 200-500 dollars each.  Subsidized phones are 0-150 for most carriers.  There is no longer sufficent capability nor quality differences to justify the costs.
Software Setup -- Symbian ^3 is great in general.  But it comes with such insane default settings for home screens and widgets default to online in some releases, which sucks battery life at an unreal pace. The other big complaint is initial navigation.  The default settings make it hard to view even 1/4 the functions available (at least on the E7.) and I cannot figure out why you let product go out the door configured in such a way as the average person will instantly hate the device.
Network and program information notices are for **bleep**.  Applications constantly fight over WiFi and applications asking for confirmations never properly identify themselves.
Finally--Symbian is Dead? Maybe Dead? Will live but be half-heartedly supported?  You have never really said.  It's obvious the focus will be Windows for the foreseeable future, but what about after 2016?  Is symbian 100% gone then?  Is support and service for it going to to continue to decline till then?  Your lack of response and communication on if  you will stand behind the Operating System that made you once the largest mobile provider on the planet is shameful.  It will cost you developers.  It will cost you customers.
    General Symbian Feedback
Why can't you keep market share in the US?  It's simple.  In the US, the average person works 50-60 hours per week.  They also have 2.4 kids.  Those 2.4 kids have at least 5-10 hours of after-school activities per week.  Worst case is the average person spends 90 hours per week outside the home and has virtually no freetime (or sleep) they do not have the skills, inclination, no desire to spend hours customizing Symbian just the way they want it.  They want loads of features, but they want them in one to two clicks/taps.  Beyond that and you've lost the majority of the audience.  If you would simply take the time make an "Initial Setup Wizard" that would let people do dramatic customizations quickly and simply, you could reclaim a lot of the US market with Symbian's loads of features.
US Customers, Please provide similiar feedback.

I had the E6 (after using a SE Xperia X2 for two horrible month's)
It was a "Nokia" , if you understand what I mean .... A brand that stands for quality, a simple Processor, a simple OS, nice specifications. A qwety Phone, like my E5 (which I loved, and I stupidly exchanged for the Xperia)
I had no super performance expectations from it. Just that it was an improved E5 .
And then, by using it, I noticed, no notification-light, very week vibration - insensible (which is essential for my job), SMS were set to search contacts by number and not by name (if so, what's the use of qwerty for????), lame app support - most paid, no sorting option in the music library, no headphone incoming call or SMS tone when listening to music in silent mode (Which the E5 knew), no shutter-sound off-option (although other E6 Handsets, had that option), the USB on the go, could read Folders from the USB only if you used the Default-Nokia Names for Folder, for example Sound's (MP3), Pictures, etc., pinch to zoom was horrible, no software support from Nokia!
After the Xperia X2, I hat so high expectations of Nokia reliability.
My Mom got a 701, it's a much better phone, but also got it's bugs. But I will never return to Nokia.

  • Email Deletes After iTunes Sync, WHY!!?? 3GS OS 3.1.3

Why does my email in my POP3 account inbox delete after/during sync with iTunes?

It shouldn't. Email account mailboxes and messages are not included with the iTunes sync process.
Do you have the email account selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes to transfer the email account settings from your computer to your iPhone? If so, this only needs to be done once and can be deselected after the email account settings are successfully transferred to your iPhone.
If selected, deselect this followed by selecting apply to see if this makes any difference.

  • When trying to set up sync, why does it always tell me invalid email address?

I've downloaded Sync, I registered and signed up for Firefox add-ons.
When I try to set up Firefox Sync.. I type in my username, password, then when it comes to email address, whatever letter I type first a red/white X box comes up saying invalid email address. Why?

telliot, your reply is a bit cryptic, but I finally understood what you meant. What he/she meant, folks, is to keep on typing what you know to be your valid email address. When you enter ".com" (or whatever extension) the error signal will disappear

  • UK Store 25% more expensive, why??

Probably in the wrong forum but here goes anyways.
I was on itunes and it went to the American store where an album I wanted to buy was $11.99. When I logged in it said I had to buy from the UK store, fair enough.. However, the UK store is £7.90 which makes the same album about 25% more expensive at current exchange rates.
I can understand the different licensing laws about the shops but why is the UK more expensive and how can itunes justify the higher price for the same product. It's not as if we are getting a better service over here. A few percent difference wouldn't matter but 25% is a large amount if you buy a few albums.

I would have thought that it would be the same record company seeing as it is the same album by the same group.
Nope. Record companies are all separate from country to country and have different licensing arrangements. Even the multinationals operate within a given country as if the branch were a separate entity. And royalty rates are often different from country to country, either the royalties to the artists, the royalties to the publisher, or both.
Again, there are many, many factors that go into pricing. DVDs and CDs are similarly higher in the UK than they are in the US, so it's not just the iTunes Store. It's the nature of doing business in the UK.
End of discussion, please. This isn't a technical question, and by the terms of use for the Apple Discussions forums, policy questions and complaints aren't appropriate. We're all just your fellow users here anyway and have no influence on pricing decisions for any company.

  • Downsizing images has taken up more space, why?

    Macbook pro 15" mid 2009
Recently upgraded to Intel 520 240GB SSD drive.3
I had 23GB(approx) of available space. I had around 161GB (approx) of images folder to which I reduced it to 158GB (approx) after reducing the picture size for some of the images. However, instead of having more available space I now only have 20GB (approx) of available space. No files in trash.
Anyone knows why this happenned & what is the solution.
    Thanks,
    adi

Your math and the lack of details of how and why.  I and others here generally recommend a 48GB minimum for Windows 7 64-bit.
If you don't control the page and hibernation file those alone can eat up twice your RAM or 16GB and up.
The core of Windows can take 22GB.
    My systems generally use 34GB
run disk cleanup: system files. The install leaves behind a 1.2GB file and then run CCleaner regularly. You can clean out 4GB afterwards.
The partition needs about 10-12GB just for all the initial updates - Windows 7 is close to 3 yrs now and even SP1 was over a year ago. That temp space needs to be rhere and is just overhead
SSD will want 10GB for TRIM and Garbage Collection to perform properly.
60GB even for an SSD is $1/GB, even less for standard drives.
And then there are the people that need to use CampTune to resize their partition. Or someone that didn't plan and made it too small and cannot login after setup. Or didn't leave 20%/20GB or more for Mac HFS to function.
