No more wifi detection,

After last software update yesterday, the ATV3 would block after language question and keep repeating that screen.
Tried to manually upgrade with mini USB and iTunes but no change, it stayed in a loop with that question after boot.
So I installed previous upgrade again ( 5.02) and now I don't have any wifi detection anymore.
Cable still works .
Anyone an idea?
How to upgrade to the latest software and have the ATV3 working again?
And how to get the wifi back?

2. Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

This is a known issue and Apple is working to release a patch very soon.

Has the 'No WiFi detection' issue ever been resolved?

I have just bought my first iphone (3G) from a friend having been a Blackberry man for some years. Having restored the phone to factory settings it quickly became apparent that the WiFi detection was not working. No problem I thought, there are a million different forums on line, all full of useful information and with Apple being such an enormous outfit they certainly won't leave any issues unresolved. I was correct on one assumption, there are plenty of forums, however the issue does not appear to have been solved? In a last desperate attempt at gaining some clarity I am trying this one........ please restore my faith.
1. I have reset network settings.
The WiFi is serving several other machines perfectly well and is in good health.

Never heard of it myself but I performed the same search you did. I don't htink it was ever resolved because it's not really a problem. It spans several apps and different OS and hardware configurations which, to me, suggests the erro that is coming up is meaningless, like so many crash indicators.
Best suggestion I found was from David S., empty the FCP caches.

MBP 17 sees many more wifi networks than MP

I have a Mac Pro (Jan 2008) and a MacBook Pro 17" (Jan 2009).
I've noticed, when I click on the Airport Icon on the menubar, the MacBook Pro scans and sees many more wifi networks than the Mac Pro does... 6 or more versus 3. (My network, and others in the neighborhood.)
I'm curious. How is the Airport client card in the MBP different from the one in the MP? Does the MP get a weakling Airport card (expecting that it wouldn't move around too much?)
I haven't yet had the time to experiment with moving my Airport Base Station too far away from the MP (more than a few feet.) What are your experiences with the Airport card in the Mac Pro? How does it compare with the wifi in your MacBook Pro?

My MP was purchased online with the Airport Extreme card included.
I had to have my MBP replaced, for a different reason. This new one doesn't see any more wifi networks than my MP does... it sees the same ones. Now my question has become... a non-issue. Too bad it didn't occur to me to record the specs of the AE in my previous MBP. It was probably the same as in my new MBP (?)

hi friends my N82 detects wifi acces points...but when i try to connect...it says connecting..................................................connecting .............and finally it hangs

Be more specific. Something must have changed. Whitch program do you use? Try this: tools-> settings-> connection-> wirelessLAN-> options-> advanced-> powersaving-> off. This will increase performance.

IMac late 2006 no wifi detected

I am new to the Mac world other than the basics and I came across a late 2006 20" iMac last week. After installing the only OS I had which is Snow Leopard, I found everything works great on this system except the original wifi card it came with which is after researching a bcm94321 card. Airport utility does not detect it and I have a few other items Ive tried installing but airport utility doesnt detect them either... Any help would be appreciated as I am clueless on how to even troubleshoot this other than just replacing the card. Thanks in advance.

HT4628 Wifi detected but doesn't work

HELP!
My good old Macbook Pro stopped working online. Every other device works with my DSL wireless modem/router (iPhones, Wii, Satellite receiver, iPad). The diagnostics tell me the Internet and Server failed.
I tried to go direct with an Ethernet cable with the same results.
I think the problem started when I allowed Firefox to upgrade Mozilla yesterday. I tried to delete the browser, library files, reset the PRAM, adjust modem/router settings. Something is still wrong, but strangely I was able to connect to update to Apple to update my software (under Apple menu)....

Can anybody my old faithful machine? I was hoping to last a little longer before retirement.

You may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
Your router may not have given your iPad a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPad (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

No more wiFi ??

I had my Wireless G router for 3 years now and it was been working great until this morning. I can't connect any device to my router now. My Laptop was working fine, I could play my xBox, and I could even get connects to my iPod. But now every time I try to connect to the router, it gives me a error. My security and all that is OK because I tried to fix it that way and I still couldn't connect with no password protected on it
When I troubleshoot the problem, it tells me to unplug the router and modem for 10 sec and all that stuff, and I did that. That was the first thing I did and it still doesn't work.
I can connect to the internet via cord but that defeats the purpose of a Laptop because I use it mainly by WiFi.
I called the tech support and he said that I had to reconfigure my router but that would cost money and I don't have time for that. All I want to do is fix my wiFi .
Any ideas ?????? Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately it will take you more time to figure out why it isn't getting on the Setup Page, might as well give reconfiguration a go if the router is not responding anymore.

No more WIFI on wireless radio

Lenovo R61i - 8932 - AEG - XP Pro SP 3. The wireless radio on ThinkVantage Access Connections (TVAC) has lost the WIFI icon and only shows the Bluetooth connection. However the adapter Intel PRO Wireless 3945ABG is visible (and active) in windows networks. I can connect the wifi through Windows, bypassing TVAC...
When I try to add a new TVAC profile the initial screen shows that the wifi adapter is present, however when I fill in an SSID the wireless mode field and also the wireless security type field are blank (in other words I can't even choose / fill in the security code / encryption type etc....)
I already deleted / updated TVAC and the Intel driver but this didn't help... How can I refresh TVAC so that it recognises the wifi-nbetwork-card again?

(Belgian) Lenove helpdesk was useless as always, advised me to completely re-install the computer to see what would happen. That was after I lost nearly half a day by deleting and re-installing TVAC, deleting and re-installing wifi-drivers, deleting and revceating profiles, etc.., etc...
The solution I found was to delete the Thinkvantage Access Connection software and to connect through Windows.

Mac book air wifi detection error

my macbook air wouldn't recognize my home wifi. all the other devices can find it and works perfectly fine. its just my MBA that can detect it ive tried turning off the bluetooth while doing it and ive tried turning the modem on and off. help please. After i reboot the device it can detect it but get a connection time out error while trying to connect to the network

No more wifi and bluetooth after a restoration OS3 to OS4

My iPod touch 3G 32go (MC008NF) was updated to OS 4.2.3 and everything was working OK, one day it gave me the screen "connect to iTunes" with the usb cable symbol. I had to make a restore, and I did not pay attention that my last backup was on OS 3.
It works fine, but I lost the wifi and the bluetooth, even after an blank restore, and all the steps mentionned on the apple official assistance guide.
I have then made an upgrade to OS 4.3.5 (8L1) to check if this problem was solved, but no and I still have the same probleme.
The informations menu gives me "Wi-Fi adress : N/A" and "Bluetooth : 00:00:00:00:00:00". The network menu gives me "no Wi-Fi" and the bluetooth menu says "unavailable" (in French...)
I had tried to se someone at the apple store from Paris, but they told me I need to buy a new one.. As this is not my fault but more a problem in the update system I was wondering if someone had a solution for that ?

If you tried everthing here, then it is a hardware problem. I know of no solution for fixing the broken one.

i work in a wifi zone. who doesn't. i used to use my ipad 2 (64gig wifi+3g iOS 6.0.1) all the time here to get things from dropbox or take notes with evernote, or to surf answers to questions posed in meetings. wonderful tool. then i updated the OS to 6...
and now i can't use it for more than a couple of minutes before wifi quits working.
i get the same spining wheel of death in the settings>wifi that others have complained about.
i've started carrying my nexus 7 around with the ipad and without failing even a single time the nexus has never had an issue connecting while the ipad sits and spins its wheel of death.
and all this can be had for $1,000 with tax. yea.
at home my wifi connectivity is much better with the ipad, but still it's worse than it was before the 'update'. further, if the nexus can connect i expect the 4 times more expensive, from the great minds at apple, ipad to be able to connect also.
guess i was wrong.
i don't get angry when computers can't do complex things that are relatively new, but wifi isn't new, and i get immensly hacked off when a company breaks a basic functionality of a devise and offers nary a word on a fix.
face it folks. this is just another IT gadget made by just another computer company.

iOS 6.1 was just released today. Maybe there's a wifi fix.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

WiFi detection is slow after wipe (autoload install of .1917)

I did a reinstall of .1917 from scratch using an autoloader. My PB now flies, so overall I'm quite happy.
One minor nuisance, though: it takes quite a bit longer to connect to WiFi than it used to. Typically, I have WiFi off because I mainly use the PB for offline viewing/listening. But when I switch the WiFi toggle on, it remains white (searching) for a good 10-20 seconds before it turns to green (connected).
I've double-checked my WiFI settings and all looks good. I deleted the saved profile and readded it manually, but I still notice the same symptom.
Anyone else experience this? Again, it's not a big issue, and I can live with it given the current performance after I used the autoloader, but thought I'd toss out to the forums to see if anyone has any suggestions.

Thanks. It's been a few weeks now that I've observed this behaviour, so seems like it is what it is. The WiFi connect definitely seems more delayed than before, but the autoload improved overall performance so I can live with this.
I had some success when I toggled airplane mode and reconnected to WiFi. The reconnect was pretty instant, but when I toggled the WiFi switch again, the usual delay was back in place. Seems like a software issue.

Wifi detected on my iMac, but internet is off an on

I am having a problem with my IMac wifi: basically, it detects my home network and the internet runs fine -- sometimes. For no apparent reason (the wireless modem is 5 feet away) the internet cuts out, although the iMac is still recognizing my home network and doesn't indicate any change. I can fix it my turning my wireless on and off, but it will continue to drop off. Any ideas?

Imac wifi detection and connection issues

I'm trying to connect to my wifi network through my Imac. When it is first turned on it does not connect, but will detect the network and will connect to it. Then it will disconnect for no reason and will not detect the network anymore.
Are there any downloads to fix this bug??

You may want to reset your modem and router and while you are at it check to see if your router has the most up-to-date firmware from the router mfg. You will need to refer to your router's manual for that utility.
Next do some basics, first is change the DNS settings, your ISP may be your problem. Click DNS Settings Update to learn how.
Next I'd recommend resetting your IP address by renewing the DHCP lease, here is an article that explains how, please click Renew a DHCP Lease in Mac OS X for instructions.
