No Movie Properties window in QT10?

What gives? You used to be able to change movie aspect ratios and the like in QT7 and the option is gone in QT10. How is this possible now, and if not, bring it back for the next QT update please.

Continue to use QuickTime Player 7 for that functionality. If it's not already in your Applications/Utilities folder, you can install it via the Optional Installs on your Mac OS X 10.6 installation disk or via download here:

Editing Movie Properties in QTX?

Anyone who may have used the "Show Movie Properties" in QuickTime 7 to edit the metadata of a movie file knows its a bit cumbersome, I was wondering how QTX makes this process - if indeed it includes it at all?
I read that some of the features QuickTime 7 had are absent from QTX, so how about this one?

There is no "Movie Properties" window in QuickTime X.
Snow Leopard users can use both QuickTime Player (upgradable to Pro) and QuickTime X.

Present movie on Windows from Mac

I am making a QT on my Mac and I applied the applescript so that when it opens it plays in present mode and shuts off later. My question is since I am doing all this on a Mac will the QT do the same thing when played on a Windows machine?

The "Presentation" droplets edit the movie playback on both Mac and PC's. This property "travels" with the file.
In version 7 of QuickTime it is now part of the Movie Properties window so no AppleScripts are required.
It allows you to set the "full screen" and automatically play, close or quit the QT Player.

Can't change Movie Properties

I just bought and downloaded 5 Pixar short subject movies.
I have a 3 year old grandson that I've set up a Mac for.
I've put his favorite movies and trailers on the desktop with large icons and slow double click. I set each movie to open in full screen and close when finished because he can't click on the red close button.
The Pixar movies downloaded into iTunes, so it would be difficult for him to find them to play.
I opened the mp4 in Quicktime and saved as self-contained movie, thinking this would do it. I put the movie on the desktop and opened it to get movie properties. I could not change them, so I can't set to go full screen or to close the movie when done. ???
Is there no way to do this? "Protected" is one thing... but not being able to change the properties seems ridiculous.

Better to use "reference" instead of "self contained" to save on HD space.
Then unplug the mouse and teach the 3 year old the keyboard.
The "Tab" key will highlight a file and a new tap on it will move the focus to a new item.
Command key and the letter o key will launch QuickTime Player.
Command key and the letter f will send the file to Full Screen (requires Pro).
The Spacebar will start and stop playback. Up/down arrow keys will adjust volume.
Command key and the letter w key will close the window. Escape key will send it out of full screen but leave the window open.
Command key and the Tab key will allow switching between the Finder and QuickTime (focus changes each time the Tab key is clicked) and releasing the Command key will make that app the "front".

Movie/Get Movies Properties Menus

Hello,
Wanted to ask is there a difference with Quicktime Pro 7 between a PC and Mac? I run a PC with Quicktime Pro 7 I am working on a web course for audio and video and my instructor wrote in the instructions to click on the Movie/Get Movies Properties menus and then from there selcting Sound Track and then click on General from the two drop down menus.
All I have in mine is when the file is opened to click on the Window Menu and then click on the Show Movie Info menu to record the data such as data size and data rate. As I am doing some analyzing on various codecs and audio formats to see if the file will or will not retain their sound quality when compressed at various rates. So for me is this how it is for the PC? I see that it records the data rate and data size in KB don't know wheather it's kilobytes per second or kilobits per second for the data rate. As for the data size shows KB I would think that's kilobytes but my instructor wants me to write it in the form as an example 111.1k looks I might have to convert.
Any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

QuickTime Pro keeps crashing when I open "Show Movie Properties"

I keep getting the "QuickTime Player has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." crash when I try and do "Show Movie Properties" on .MOV files.
The error signature is:

I'm running the latest QuickTimePro (7.6.5) on WinXP SP3

in fact it's one of the few bits of Quick Time that seems stable on my PC!
Hmmmmm ... your symptoms aren't typical for what I'm about to check on. But I think we ought to check to see if any other application has sprayed old QuickTime componentry into unorthodox places on the PC. (That's one possible cause of a BEX.)
(1) Go Start > My Computer.
(2) From the Tools menu, select Folder Options ...
(3) Click the View tab.
(4) Make sure Show hidden files and folders is selected and Hide extensions for known filetypes is unchecked.
(5) Click OK.
Now head down into your C:\Windows\system32\ directory. What files and folders with QuickTime in the file/folder-name can you see in there?
(In a standard QuickTime installation, you should see precisely two files, QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx, and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.)

Can't find mp4 Propertie window

I have successfully ripped and encoded via MTR and MEPG Streamclip (took at least 8 hours - yikes). Now I need to change some of the file properties of the mp4 file in QT Pro, but I can't seem to find where that window is. Can someone help?

Draggable properties window on Canvas

Hello, in my application I am drawing selectable basic shapes like line ellipse rectangle inside a Canvas control. When user selects these control I want to display a draggable properties window showing different properties like color/width/size for that
shape. This property window should move inside the Canvas when user drags the window. User can select multiple shapes and multiple properties windows can be visible,for,user.
How I can display a property window when user selects the control.

There are several options for property editing.

The other question is how you show this.
You can make a popup appear in a position relative to a control.
That's one option.

That IsOpen controls whether you see the popup or not.
Bind that to something like maybe IsSelected if you have that on your shapes and it'll appear as the user selects, disappear as they de select.
You didn't ask, but those resize handle thingummies you see in the visual studio designer on controls are adorners.
You could possibly do something similar and make the adorners appear as a shape is selected ( as well ).

CS 5.5 workspace bug with Properties Window

I just upgraded to Dreamweaver CS5.5 and I'm attempting to make my own custom workspace like I have for every version beforehand.
When I save my workspace and then restart Dreamweaver, the Properties Window jumps up to approximately halfway up the screen instead of at the bottom as I placed it. I've tried resaving the workspace, etc. and trying different positions of the Properties Window, but it continues to ignore this and jump it back up towards the middle of my display (nice and in the way of actual webpage windows I open/edit).
I'm forced to move the Properties Window to the bottom of my screen each and every time I launch Dreamweaver CS5.5.

Attribute does not appear in WEBUI document properties windows

After that we've had to update the class with two new attibutes (String, not required) using the iFS Manager. But now, when i select a document (ArquivoXsl) the properties window in WEBUI does not show that attribute.
is there a bug in the iFS 9.0.1 version.
If i create a new class with all these attributes, the WEBUI show them all, even they've being null valued.

Even after making the attributes as nav attribute in Master data they ought to be marked as navigation attribute on the infoprovider on which you are creating the report.
If the report is based on the cube that uses company code then you need to check it as navigational att in the cube and incase you have a multiprovider at the top of the cube then you again need to check this attribute as navigational in the multiprovider too.
Thus by making comp_code_zregion as nav att in the master data you will not see it in the report you need to make it as nav in the report as well as multiprovider incase the report is based on multiprovider

Unexpected performance of Firefox in Windows 7, namely minimize/maximize/close buttons not working and unable to move/resize window.

I have been using FF for a while now. My main computer was WinXP-32, though I recently bought a new laptop with Win7-64 installed. This problem was never experienced on my WinXP machine.
Brief description of problem:
After a time of having FF up and running, the minimize/maximize/restore/close buttons in the top-right no longer work as expected and, if not maximised, I cannot move the window around my desktop nor resize the browser window. When clicked, the buttons will
rapidly flash on and off continuously without appearing to perform any noticeable function other than temporarily hogging CPU cycles. I've found that clicking (sometimes double clicking) in the main browser window then mousing over the buttons again seems
to stop them flashing, though does nothing else.
To minimize/maximize/restore/move/close the window(s), I have to right-click on the relevant tab in my taskbar and pick the desired option. Occasionally, however, even this doesn't work and the right-click menu will disappear as soon as I move the mouse
over it after right-clicking. 'Show desktop' is a temporary fix for minimising windows and 'ALT + F4' or 'CTRL + W' for closing windows or tabs. This isn't satisfactory and to move or resize a window, I have to close the window in question (sometimes all other
windows too), reopen it and do what I need to do, though sometimes even this is only a very short fix. If I have to close all the windows, FF will sometimes keep running for a while afterwards, even though no windows are actually open - simply ending the process
via the windows task manager will fix this though is only a work-around, not a fix.
One thing I have noticed is that if I manage to move the browser window (when not maximised), for a short period afterwards I can often resize the window successfully. This is more likely to occur if the browser window is not flush with the edge of my screen
once moved.
I've tried to include as much information as I can - most of which was determined after several minutes/hours of playing around with different scenarios, trying to manually reproduce particular problems or simply through sheer luck of happening to click
in the right place at the right time! I hope there is a reasonably fix for this at some point in the not-too-distant future.
I noticed in some of the threads at another site where people have voiced problems similar to mine, that a link to 'ObjectDock' was discovered in some cases. I do have 'ObjectDock 1.90 Plus' installed on my machine and use it in many ways and so decided
to see if I could find a connection between the two. I have uninstalled, tested, and reinstalled both programs in a multitude of ways, though could find no conclusive correlation between having both bits of software running or installed at the same time and
the problems I am experiencing. In my case, at least, this does not appear to be an answer.
Also, in another thread on this site, someone suggested there might be a link with AVG Anti-Virus Free (I have version 9.0.819) though I've tried uninstalling it and its various add-ons in several different combinations, with no noticeable improvement.

You can also check if the issue occurs in
Clean Boot. If the issue disappears in the Clean Boot environment, you can continue to narrow down which entry is causing the issue.
Besides, uninstall it and re-download
a fresh copy of FireFox to check the result. If the issue still exists, create a new user account to see if it occurs.
If the issue persists, you can contact Mozilla Support directly and use Internet Explorer (IE) during the time.

The properties window does not open properly for bookmarks.

When I go to Bookmarks > Bookmark This Page, the window that opens should have the information filled in, correct? Because mine is always blank. The bookmark does get made if I click Done, even with everything looking blank. Also, when I right-click on a bookmark & select Properties, the Properties window that opens only shows the blue bar at the top, nothing else. I can't expand the window. It's been doing this since the previous version that I had. Also, keep in mind that I'm a computer technician, so I know what I'm doing.

does it happen for all tables or it's related to specific set of tables (or just one table)?
PS. Did some more research: The error message from the logfile seems to be unrelated to the recalcitrant properties window. Yes, those errors are not related to problem.
properties dialog won't appear if there are some errors during initialization of dialog and its related to table that cause the problem. You should be able to open dialog for another table.
It'll be great if you can find out after what changes dialog for some tables doesn't appear.

Editing metadata in the file properties window

Hi,
I’m using Win XP SP3 on a “normal” Desktop-PC. Since my problem is not connected to hardware I think that description is enough but I do not know which software information is required. So you may ask. Important is maybe that I am running Adobe Acrobat and Reader simultaneously on the same machine.
The problem: I always changed and edited some of the metadata of my PDF files by bringing up the file properties window of the PDF (right click - properties). Next to the “General”-Tab is the “PDF”-Tab. You can see the title, author, topic, dates and PDF-Version of the document. The first four fields where always editable textboxes. I get used to put in some comments and other important information because I didn’t want to use any tool. Now the complete window is locked. Is this because of the new 9.3.3 Reader update? I updated so many times and never anything like this happened. How can I turn back to the old behavior?
I do not want to edit those information in Acrobat by choosing File and then propertis because it takes much more time because i have to open the file (if it is one its fine) but if there are more where the same info shall be in I'd like to use the built in function of the properties sheet in windows.
