No 'movies' category showing on iPod

Although there are sections marked 'Movies' in iTunes - under 'Library' and (when the iPod is connected) under the device's contents - the iPod itself does not have such a section.
The relevant screen only shows Music, TV Shows, Podcasts, Extras, Settings and Shuffle Songs. Might anyone have an idea where it's gone?

  • I can't move tv show to ipod when used as external drive

I have been putting itunes purchased tv shows on my 60g ipod as a hard drive untill it stopped working. I drag the show to the ipod icon on the desktop and the plus sign appears then nothing happens. I have 28g free and it's worked fine untill now. I'm just doing this temporarily untill i get a new hard drive for my computer. I only have 13g now. So if I want to buy anything else I have to free up the space and I know that if I just put it on my ipod as a watchable video I can't move it back.

  • Itunes plays tv shows in movie category

I recently brought a new ipod nano (3rd generation) Ive managed to download videos succesfully on to my itunes, however whenever I download a tv show onto my itunes it automatically gets saved into the movies category and no matter what I try it won't move into the tv shows category, How do i fix this? Thanx fpor your help!!!!

Try this. On the tv show listed in the Movies Category, right click on the listed show and select Get Info. On the window that opens up, click on the Video Tab and select TV Show from the Video Kind drop down list (by default it is always set to movie). Changing the Video Kind will move your TV Show over to the TV Shows category listing.

  • Movie category no longer showing up??

My AppleTv 2nd generation no longer shows MOVIES category. Never been a problem before. Is this because of an update? How do I access movies for rent from Itunes Store?

  • Can't get my paid movies, tv shows, and music back onto my iPod

I paid for a few movies, tv shows and songs for my iPod, and then my computer broke. I needed to get it fixed and so i lost all of my data including the music and movie files. Is there anyway that I can get those already paid movie and music files back onto my iPod without having to pay for them again?

If the purchased items are on your ipod, I assume they aren't according to your post, you can connect the ipod or iphone to itunes.
Click no if a message comes up that this ipod is synced with another computer, would you like to sync with this computer?
At the top of itunes, click on file and choose transfer purchases.
Now if the purchased items are not on your ipod or iphone, contact the itunes store support and let them know what happened.
Here is a link to the itunes store support site that has an email form at the bottom.

  • When syncing my ipod touch, the Other category shows it's taking up a lot of space.  What is in Other?

When syncing my iPod Touch, the "Other" category shows it's taking up a large amount of storage space on the device.  What is in the "Other" category, and how do I control what goes into it?

Restore from a backup will get you some 'other' back.

Are you looking at the tabs on the right-hand side of iTunes when you've connected and selected your device on the left-hand side of iTunes ? i.e. it should be one of the tabs that you use to chose what content to sync to the device : syncing photos

  • ITunes movies not showing up on Apple TV

I'm having some trouble with my movies not showing up on Apple TV.
The movies I am missing are not purchased from iTunes but I have converted them using Handbrake. I've double checked the format and they seem to be what's required from what I've read in other threads.
I've also made sure they are in the "movies" category and not "home movies."
I'm not the most computer savy person... most of what I know is just from reading threads.  Can someone help?
Here is the format of a movie that's not showing up:
    H.264, 720 x 304, Millions
    AAC, Stereo (L R), 48.00 kHz
    Movie FPS: 23.98
    Playing FPS: 23.98
    Data Size: 1.24 GB
    Data Rate: 938.58 kbits/sec
    Normal Size: 720 x 304 pixels
    Current Size: 720 x 304 pixles

RogerOut makes some good points and this feels to me like a ham fisted attempt by Apple to take control of my media in a way that I don't want.  The stuff it is choosing to call "home movie" is 100% legit movies, but not ones I bought through the itunes store.  So I load a movie and then it mysteriously does not show up in my Apple TV because it has defaulted to "home movie".
What I still fail to understand is what the heck is the purpose of this apart from annoying users who's stuff now does not appear on ATV without explanation or warning.  So glad to have this forum to help me, but why should I have to do this to figure out how to overcome a stupid thing that Itunes is doing to my movie (it is a movie!)?
As I say though, what possible benefit is it for a users media to be labelled in this way and anyway, why does calling it a home movie make it unreadable in ATV?

  • Can i move songs from my iPod to my new matchbook air?

I bought a brand new mackbook air and i had trouble on the migration assisstant because the verification window wouldnt show up on my old dell. I would now like to know if i am able to move songs from my ipod to my new mac without having to use migration assisstant. Please help me! Thanks!

one way to can simply do this (if dragging and dropping won't work), is to simply put the songs that you would like in the playlist into the On-The-Go playlist in your iPod. Once you have put these songs into the On-The-Go folder (by highlighting the song and holding down the center button), simply plug the ipod back into your computer, and rename the folder with the songs in it. Hope this helps.

  • How do I manging multiple copies of movies for AppleTV and iPod in iTunes?

I do not have an AppleTV yet, but I am considering getting one. I was wondering how those who have both an iPod and ATV manage the syncing of Movies that may have different resolutions?
If I want to have the same movie on ATV and my iPod I would need two copies in iTunes at different resolutions, correct? At least when I look at the iTunes export in iMovie it shows I can have a higher resolution for the ATV than the iPod.
So, how do you manage the auto syncing of these multiple copies so that they aren't all copied to both devices? iTunes doesn't have good Movie management as far as sub-folders, etc. I would like iTunes to treat these copies as one movie and only sync the appropriate resolution for the device.
I also notice that multiple copies then show up in FrontRow as well. It would be nice if only the highest resolution would show up.
    Thanks,
    Scott

Just create 2 different playlists like
    Movie-ATV
    Movie-iPod
Put those video files with higher resolution on playlist Movie-ATV
Put those video files with lower resolution on playlist Movie-iPod
in iTunes Preferences choose your ATV only to sync the 1st movie playlist - and your iPod only to sync the 2nd one.

  • Are you sure you want to remove existing music, movies, TV shows, books.....No!

Hi all, iTunes Sync help ...please?
I bought a MacMini having been a iPhone & iPad user with a winPC for many years and i fail to understand what iTunes wants to do with my suff on my iPhones etc. It appears to want to wipe it and start new and from previous blogs i cant see that this has actually been addressed.
I have tried to get Apple to call me by logging a case several times but they never ring and then just send me a mail saying we tried to call (they dont) so i am hoping someone can help me...please?
When i pug my iPhone or iPad in non of the apps appear in the simulation on the second tab and non of my music are there. When i hit 'Sync' a pop up says'Are you sure you want to remove existing music, movies, TV shows, books, and tones from this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library?
Music, movies, TV shows, books, and tones synced to “Chr15h’s iPhone5” from other iTunes libraries will be removed and items will be synced from this iTunes library.'
I realy dont want to loose all my data. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction...please?
    Thanks (i hope) Chr15h

  • Syncing Movies & TV Shows

Ok, I just got a new iPod 30G video, and I want to put movies and tv shows on it without syncing them to the iPod. if I have the sync button unchecked on the options it won't let me just add specific movies and shows. I guess I wouldn't mind syncing them with that option cause it does let me under the sync options to sync what movies i want to, but when I do this it adds a weird playist called Front Row that has the movies in it. I don't want that, I just want them in the Movies and TV Shows section. If there is a manual way of doing this that I am doing wrong tell me! THANKS

sorry!!! i'm a dingleberry and didn't check manually manage music and videos! sorry my bad! got it fixed

  • Movies only show up under Songs LIst

On my iPod Classic 80GB, movies (purchased and manually added) only show up under the songs list. I cannot change the info (movie, tv show) in iTunes because that is not an option for files in the songs list. I have been able to re-add a couple of the manually added movies and they show up in the right place, but the purchased movies I cannot do this with. This only became a problem today and has not been a problem in the past. They show up under the songs list only and not in the movies even though the info shows them as mp4. Any help is appreciated.

I would say that is a good indication that the movies are not actually synced. Check your sync settings in iTunes and also make sure that there is actually enough disk space available on the ATV for the movies that have yet to sync.
