No MP3 Export? Is Adobe cheap or clueless?

Come ON! I can't be the only person who frequently needs to export an MP3 clip from a video project. Did Adobe decide a small licensing fee would take too much of the $1600 I paid for their software suite, or are they just clueless that customers NEED this functionality. Don't tell me, "Oh, you can export a WAV, then install and load a conversion program, then convert to MP3." I paid Adobe money to make my life EASIER. Why don't they care?

Well, maybe none of these "professionals" have  ever had to send out 8 hours worth of material for transcripts!
For Audio-only, I would use Audition, or some Audio editing program. To damn an NLE for it's lack of Audio Export for all possible choices is senseless. I would use the correct tools for the job, regardless if they are Adobe, or otherwise.
BTW, I happen to have six Audio editors that do a great job with MP3's. Luckily, I do not need to compress my Audio, so it's moot to me. Still, I could, if I needed to do so.
No one program can do everything with everything. I find Titler to pale besides my InDesign, or even my WordPerfect. Not even close. Hey, Titler does not do half of what my PS, or my AI can do. Am I concerned? Nah - I use the tools that I need to use.
Sorry, but I just do not get it here.
Hunt
PS I'm glad to stay as far from MP3's as I can, though I can easily do them.

  • How can I export an Adobe illustrator CC .AI file to a DWG or DXF file suitable for SolidWorks?

    Hi
    Can anyone help?
How can I export an Adobe illustrator CC .AI file to a DWG or DXF file,  without SolidWorks enlarging the file & converting every curve into hundreds of short little straight lines rather than a single continuous line/s.
I have made sure the file is ungrouped or has any compound paths or colours.
Opening it in Autocad 2010 still converts the DWG file into hundreds of short little straight lines!
The file is needed to laser cut out an aluminium shape using SolidWorks 2008 (Metal soft)?
    Formats they can handle are:
    DWG, DXF, IGES, IGA
There must be a way to export it without re-drawing the whole design in Soildworks again!!??
    Can anyone help?
    INCA

Not really. This is a limitation you will have to live with. Unless you are extremely careful, most paths will be converted to polyline segments by AI and in particular in AI CC this is somehow busted, so it happens more often. You might have much more luck opening a native AI file in DraftSight or a 2D CAD program like TurboCAD and exporting a DWG or 2D IGES/ STEP file from there. The sizing issue is a different matter, but without knowing what units you actualyl used, nobody can advise.

  • Can you wrap a Muse export in Adobe Air to make a desktop application?

    Hello,
I was just wondering if it is possible to wrap a Muse HTML folder (whole export) in Adobe Air to make a desktop application? I have managed to wrap the business catalyst URL that Muse gives you temporarily and made a desktop application. As this is temporary is it possible to wrap the entire project (HTML)?
I'm very new to this so i hope this all makes sense.
    Thanks in advance,
    SPolly

You are not wasting your time. It can be done...
In order to wrap C++ for use by C, you must write wrapper functions declared with 'extern "C"' linkage for every C++ method you intend to call directly from C. This must be done using a C++ compiler. Once linked into a new library, any C exectuable or C library should be able to link this new library and call the wrapper functions you have declared 'extern "C"'.
If you still need more help, I would advise you to post in a C++ language forum perhaps. Best of luck, not that you should need it though... -Ralph

  • Just how hard it is to export using Adobe Media Encoder ?

For those who have CS4 already, just how difficult is it to export
    to Adobe Media Encoder ?
Right now it's very simple, you make up your work area for example, and export.
So with CS4, I must do what exactly to do this ?
Do I have to save the project with the work area selected, exit, now open Adobe Media Encoder and now select "open project" and now load this up and then export ?
Please tell me it ain't so.
I'd like to hear the steps to do this. I have to be honest, what once was an exciting time, has turned into a disappointing time now, reading all the things Adobe had changed ( for no good reason ). I just don't understand sometimes why they do things. I think they should get more input from poeple that use their products on a daily basis, so they know what they should touch, and what not to touch.
I'm actually not looking forward to upgrading now, even though I will, because of a few things that look good in the new version.
    Dave.

    It ain't so.
The workflow remains pretty much the same until you finally click the OK button. At that point the AME will open up and you can choose to start the queue immediately or switch back to PPro and do several more exports before starting the queue.
    Read all about exporting
    from the horse's mouth. ;)
    You will also find several
CS4 tutorials that will show you how it's done.
    Cheers

  • PM 6.5 Export to Adobe PDF

Using PM 6.5 under MS Vista I can´t create PDF-files by  "export to Adobe PDF". Need help.

    Ofrahim wrote:

Firstly, Adobe don't support PM6.5 on Vista, for this kind of reason. PM's "Export… AdobePDF…" was never the most robust of macros so I'm not surprised it goes belly up with Vista.
You could try this (copied from the now defunct PM FAQs), assuming you have a version of Distiller (4?) installed.
The two stage Print and Distill process
    Stage1:
First, "print" a PostScript file by going to File>Print.
Select a PostScript printer & PPD from the output device (ie: Linotronic or Prinergy), or preferably the Acrobat 5 Distiller PPD.
If you use Acrobat 6, use Adobe's Generic Postscript Printer by installing Adobe Universal PostScript Windows Driver Installer (winsteng.exe) from Illustrator's install disk or at http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=1500, choosing "Local Port" and "File."
It's also recommended for all computers in your department to use the same PPD that is used for writing postscript files as the "Compose to" printer to avoid recomposition.
In PageMaker’s Print dialogue, click on the "Options" button, and check "Write PostScript to File." Select the "Normal" radio button. Set both Type 1 and TrueType fonts to download. As always, set the Send TIF/Images option to "Normal" and NOT Optimized. Make other settings elsewhere in the print dialog as desired, such as "paper" size, crop marks, separations, etc. You’ll see the Print button has now become a Save button. Click Save.
Note: If your going to create a PDF, always use the Distiller PPD.
    Stage 2:
    Launch Acrobat Distiller.
Good practice in general is to check your Job Options prior to distilling, because you’ll need to change these depending on if your PDF is destined for high-end output or just web viewing - more on that in another post below - but pay special attention to the compression and downsampling options. These will have a very noticeable effect on image quality vs file size. Navigate to the PostScript file you created and open it. Alternately, you can "drop" the .ps file onto the Distiller window. Your PDF will be created, and, provided your PM document was clean to begin with (graphics Placed and not Pasted, EPS and TIF graphics only, properly managed fonts, etc) you should have a good PDF.
    Best of luck.

  • Subscription Acrobat Pro DC, Adobe Export PDF, Adobe PDF Pack. How can I activate the need of licens?

Subscription Acrobat Pro DC, Adobe Export PDF, Adobe PDF Pack.
How can I activate the need of licens?
The reason can be Adobe policy, I have change computer, added products, stop using any product and so on.

    Hans,
When you no longer need the Adobe software on a computer or you wish to move it to another one, you should deactivate the software.
See this link: how to deactivate software. Installation rules will let you install the software on two computers of the same platform (both windows or both mac) but you are limited to running it on only one at a time. If you have only installed it once, you should be able to install it on the other computer. If you have already installed the software twice and you don't have access to your previous computer or you upgraded your computer's hardware, replace a hard drive, upgraded your operating system, or reformatted your drive before deactivating your software, you can ask Adobe Support to help you deactivate the software from the machine. Just have your serial number or Adobe ID ready, and then contact support. Then you can install the software from the links below and enter your serial number to re-activate the software.
If you need to find your serial number, sign in to your Adobe account. On the Manage Accounts page that appears, all of your registered products and their serial numbers are listed in the Plans & Products section. For more information on locating serial numbers, or on registering a serial number, please see Find a serial number.

  • Problems to Export to Adobe Media Encoder!

Hi, I´ve a problem to export to Adobe Media Encoder!
When in Premiere Pro CS4, I click in Files - Export - Media.. it shows a display saying: "An Adobe Media Encoder update s available for this version of Premiere Pro.."
But I´ve updated Premiere Pro CS4 to 4.21 and Media Encoder to 420! Both are installed!
And the display message s showed yet! So I cant send the project into Media Encoder by click, just if i open Media Encoder..
    How do I solve this?
Because before I´ve updated Premiere Pro CS4, I´didnt have this boring message..
    Thanks for your help!
    Gustavo

    Gustavo,
Though you have updated, it appears that the updater still thinks that you have not.
The first thing that I would do is follow the suggestion in the message. An alternative would be to close PrPro, and open Bridge, then choose Help>Update from there. Not sure why updating from Bridge seems to do things better, but it does for many.
This should do one of two things: actually do the update (maybe it only was applied partially? and clear the updater notification. I have had similar with Acrobat Pro, where it took three attempts to get the update to both complete and then to clear the notification messages.
Now, when I go to update from Adobe, I first shut off my AV, pop-up blockers and spysweeper programs. I trust Adobe.com, so do not want anything getting in the way. One more thing to do, prior to updating is to make sure that you have the very latest Adobe Flash Player installed. More and more, Adobe's installers rely on Flash Player.
That is all that I can think of now, other than Good Luck!

  • One Keynote slide + one 7.4 MB mp3 exported to QuickTime = 110.2 MB MOV ???

OK... Title says most. Combining a single Keynote slide with a 7.4 MB MP3 and exporting to QuickTime is giving me a HUGE file of 110.2 MB.
Same slide, same MP3, exported to Flash yields an 8.2 MB SWF.
    What's up with that??
I just want one slide to open up in full-screen, and click to play one song with the slide... and a file small enough to email.
    Any suggestions?

Ok, the magic key seems to be a Custom frame rate of 0.01. With a frame rate that low, I'm getting file sizes of just larger than the music file. Set Keyframe and Data Rate to Automatic.
The reason why this doesn't happen with Flash is because flash does things the way iPhoto does. Display one static image and leave it there until it needs to change. Keynote COULD do that with QuickTime, but it doesn't
Also, if that H.264 gamma change is causing you problems, I just found you can use PNG. Make the same change to the frame rate (you don't have to alter anything else for PNG) and you get a file just a skosh bigger, but closer to your original colors.

  • Soundtrack studio 2:  Why do MP3 exports come out blank?

Hi, any help would be great. When I export a soundtrack Studio 2 file to MP3 (or anything else) the file comes out the correct time and file type but there is no audio. I am trying to convert a composition to mp3 so I can demo it on my iPod and, even when I send the file directly to iTunes the MP3 plays ad 5 minutes of dead air. Any ideas? I obviously don't want to recreate this whole thing in Garage Band.
    Thanks!

I also had the Use Maximum Render Quality box checked in my export settings
This should carry over to the AME when you send it to the queue, but you should double-check in the AME.
So I guess the difference is in the GPU rendering vs software rendering?
In theory, software MPE with MRQ and Max Bit Depth enabled should produce (nearly) identical results to hardware MPE.
I had originally understood that this is for rendering previews, but looks like it's also used during final exports?
For exporting, video frames have to be rendered before they can be transcoded to the final format/codec.  So hardware MPE helps rendering previews, but it also helps the rendering step of the export process.
That's unfortunate that AME does not utilize the GPU as well. What is the reason for excluding this feature?
That's a question only an Adobe engineer can answer!  NB: I know for sure that the scaling-using-software-MPE limitation in the AME applied to CS5 and CS5.5.  It may be fixed in CS6, or it may not.  I don't have time to properly research that right now.
I don't really understand how something as simple as rendering a scaled JPEG image turns out looking bad, while AME can render full-on After Effects comps...???
If differences in scaling methods don't apply here, there may be system issues or a software bug at work.

thanks nobody because nobody helped me solve this delima
You do know that this is a user to user forum, not an official Adobe support site?
Which means that there is NOT a full time group of people just waiting to answer questions
Don't you think that complaining about nobody answering in less than 2 hours is a little unreasonable?
