No mp3 music output using Intuem 4.0.7

Application software: Intuem 4.0.7ur1
I'm unable to play a standard mp3 file using Intuem through the speakers/headphones. Other applications work fine.
I've messed around with settings in audio/MIDI setup for weeks now, and still no audio output. The embedded metronome will play when enabled in the control bar during the track play. SO this part of the app produces sound.
MIDI files play through the speakers perfectly fine, as well as MIDI output to an external device.
It is only audio files that will not play through the speakers or headphones.
Built in Output is the only item in the output selector for this app. Master volume in Audio Devices is at zero, and the slider cannot be moved. Configure speakers works, and hiss is played from the speakers.
I also tried cycling the headphone port a few dozen times to try switching between speaker and headphones. That didn't help.
I don't know if this is a problem with the OS or the application. The software vendor (Intuem) does not answer my emails even though this is a paid license program.
Thanks for any help or advice you can provide.

I received a reply from Intuem support today.
Intuem 4.0.7 music composition software does not support audio output when playing mp3 or other sound files with 10.7.4 Lion.
Rendering this music composition software entirely useless with any mac running an OS later than 10.6 snow leopard.
Quote from Intuem Support:
"Audio does not work beyond 10.6.8 at this time. Do you have a machine with Snow Leopard that you can run Intuem?
Best,
Intuem Support"

Yes, though if the drive is formatted as NTFS, Mac OS X will not be able to write to the drive without you either installing third-party NTFS drivers or reformatting the drive.

Yes.  Import the music into iTunes and sync it to your iPad.

    Thanks

I tried Notpod but can't get it to work.  Part of the problem, I suspect, is that I can't create a folder on my player (a SanDisk Clip+).  I also can't do this in Windows Explorer.  Whilst I can see the Clip+ in Explorer, the option to create a new folder isn't there.
The error mesag I get in Notpod is:
"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application.  If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue.  If you click Quit the application will close immediately.
InvalidArgument=Value of '0' is not valid for 'SelctedIndex'. Parameter name: SelectedIndex"
Then, when I plug the Clip+ into a USB port, iTunes thinks it is my iPad - which is because, I guess, Notpod hasn't worked.
I can drag and drop files from the Music folder where my iTunes tracks are stored onto the Clip+ and they get converted but I'd rather synchronise a Playlist from iTunes if I can.
    Thanks anyone who can help

  • How To Transfer MP3 Music Files At A 96kb speed, From A CD To A Zen Mic

I have a couple of CDs with MP3 music files on them. One problem is that the music is recorded at various speeds from 28 to 320kbs. I know of to transfer the files over, but I can't seem to lower the speed down to 96kb. I want to know if it is possible to change the recording speed to 96kb when transferring MP3 files from a CD source? Thanx

You can of course use one of a number of MP3 converters to change the track quality e.g. Creative's MediaSource converter. Be aware that dropping the bit-rate isn't the best approach, it's better to encode from the original CD.
And as others have said, I would strongly recommend staying at 28kbit/s for MP3 (using LAME) or at least listen to a test track or two before encoding the lot.

  • MP3 files being used by MAC OS X and cannot be opened?

I'm setting up my play lists in ITunes 7.0.2 on my Macbook and I started realizing a few songs where missing. The MP3 files are in my music folder but do not show up in ITunes. When I click on the in the music directory it gives me the following message in a pop up.
Item "name of song.MP3" is being used by MAC OS X and cannot be open.
Any clue what is going on? It's happened on several different songs so far. Thanks

I recopied the bad files from my network backup drive and all seems well but I still don't understand why The system told me it was using the files.

  • ITunes - Create MP3 Version (output destination?)

Hi. I was wondering if anyone out there knew if it was possible to utilize iTunes to create MP3 versions of m4a files, but have them placed in a specific destination?
What I am trying to accomplish and the problem I am having is, I have an MP3 player that only plays well with MP3 files when it comes to ID3 tags and album art. So far iTunes seems to be the only player that can convert a file to MP3 format while keeping all the ID3 tag information intact.
The problem is that I have over 300 songs I need to convert to MP3, which I can easily do in iTunes, except for that when it creates the MP3 version, it is placing it in the individual artists folders. Meaning I would have to locate every file in order to drag them onto my player and then delete them when finished.
Is there a way to have the newly created MP3 files output to a separate destination? Or maybe another program that can do this..??
So far, Ive tried (smartcoverter & adobe encoder) will create an MP3 version, however, it removes the ID3 tag information which is even worse than having to locate each file individually. Any ideas or information would be appreciated. Thanks!

No such option.  iTunes puts the newly created file where iTunes thinks it ought to be:  Music\Artist\Album
Other conversion programs, such as Switch, do let you specify a destination folder, and it does keep the tag info.
Meaning I would have to locate every file in order to drag them onto my player and then delete them when finished.
Not at all!  After the conversion, sort your library by Date Added, and the newly created versions will be in a row at the top.  Highlight them in iTunes and drag them where you want them.  You do not need to look for the individual folders!
Try the above with one or two songs so you can get comfortable with how it works.

  • MP3 Music does not work.

I just upgraded to Adobe Premiere Elements 13 so that I could use music in .MP3 format.  But it still doesn't let me use this music.  Can you tell what I am doing wrong?
I get a message that says "The importer reported a generic error"

    DeJacqueline
What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 13 installed on?
Are you working with iTunes music in the Premiere Elements 13 Editor? If so, please convert the music to wav version in iTunes, and then import the wav version into the Premiere Elements project (Add Media/Files and Folders.....).
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT1550
What is your prior experience with ".mp3 music" in an earlier version of Premiere Elements? In the matter of iTunes music and Premiere Elements, I see no changes.
    Please supply more details.
    Thank you.

  • Streamed MP3 music files losing first few seconds

My Apple TV seems to drop the first few seconds of MP3 music files when they are streamed from iTunes, but not when they are synced to the Apple TV.
The number of seconds that are dropped varies from none at all for some songs to 20, or much more than that ... but seemingly never more than a minute.
When I select one certain song in a particular playlist -- "Song for the Mira" by the Garrison Bros. -- the time shown is 5:19. When I press play on the Apple TV remote the time changes to 5:00, very briefly ... just before the Apple TV starts to play the song with its first 19 seconds missing, as if it were really a 5:00 song.
From that time on (unless I reload the iTunes library) every time I select the same song from any playlist, or from under Songs, or Albums, or whatever, the time is always shown right away as 5:00. So Apple TV is "remembering" the time of the song.
If I cause Apple TV to reload that iTunes library, the time goes back to 5:19 until I actually play the song again, at which time it becomes 5:00 again.
The amount of time that is sliced off from the beginning of a song is always consistent for that song. So if the amount is 12 seconds one time for a particular song, it is always 12 seconds.
I have not altered the start or end points of affected songs in iTunes.
As far as I can tell, this never happens with Protected AACs.
It never happens with synced copies of the MP3s, only with streamed playback.
I have the latest versions of iTunes (7.3.2) and of the Apple TV software (1.1).
Restoring the Apple TV to factory settings, re-downloading the software, etc., have no effect on the problem. Nor does restarting my iMac, which is running OS X 10.4.10. Nor does restarting the various base stations on my wireless network, all of which have the latest firmware.
Anyone else have a problem with the beginnings of streamed MP3s being truncated? Anyone know what to do about it? Thanks.

Since my last post to this thread I have discovered:
    (1) I was wrong in thinking there is no pattern to the number of seconds lopped off at the beginning of various MP3s when streamed to my Apple TV. Actually, I have found that the same number of seconds is dropped from every song in a particular album or compilation!
So my "Sounds of Nova Scotia, Vol. 1" compilation -- which contains the "Song for the Mira" that is reduced from 5:19 to 5:00 at the start of Apple TV's streamed playback -- has 19 seconds removed at the start of every track when its tracks are streamed to Apple TV. (It does not appear to be significant that this particular track seems to be rounded to the nearest minute. Cutting the first 19 seconds off the other tracks in the compilation does not bring them to an even minute.)
My Beatles' "Abbey Road" album has not 19 but 30 seconds dropped at the start of every streamed track!
    (2) I was also wrong in reporting that the time change from, say, 5:19 to 5:00 is "remembered" by Apple TV the next time I select the affected track from a list on the TV screen. Actually, the next time I select the track, it shows up as 5:19 again. But if I press Play, that changes to 5:00 in the split second just before the track actually starts to play ... and then the progress bar that appears at that point, when the actual song is being played, reflects a 5:00 total time, not 5:19.
To recap what I said before, this happens only when I stream (even from the syncing iTunes), not when I play a synced copy. AACs are unaffected. Not all MP3s seem to be affected, though all in an affected album or compilation are affected the same way, by having an identical number of seconds lopped off. I have the latest software/firmware in all my devices. Restarts/resets do not help. The problem persists in copies of copies of the affected MP3 tracks streamed from iTunes _on my other Mac_, a MacBook Pro. The problem does not occur when I play the tracks right in iTunes on either machine. I am not using manually set start and stop times on the affected tracks in iTunes. I do not have *Part of a Gapless Album* or *Remember Playback Position* set in Info in iTunes Preferences, though I have tried setting *Part of a Gapless Album*, with no effect on the problem.
Anyone have any more ideas as to what might be causing this? Thanks.

  • Uploading mp3 music files

HP Envy TouchSmart laptop. How do I upload my iPod Classic mp3 Music into my laptop?

    Hi Brian,
If I were you I would try downloading and installing iTunes for PC.
I do not know about the "classic"; many (Apple) devices can sync with iTunes as well as provide a means to import music.
I use iTunes to sync and back up my old Apple iPad One.
Do go to the Apple support site to download and install the software -- no telling what kind of "stuff" you might find embedded in the installation if you use a Brand X download site.
    Kind Regards,

  • MP3 Music Synch to iPod ???

I downloaded music in format MP3 from another source. I had them stored where my iTunes music is stored on my PC. At one point, I could actually see the MP3 music listed in a SHARED foler in my iTunes folder list. I can't see them anymore so I'm not sure what happened, so that's the first question.
The second question is, can you somehow sync MP3 music to you iPod. I've found recently that iTunes music is in something called M4A format and maybe the iPod only accepts that proprietary format. Can anyone help? Thanks

iTunes doesn't support folder watching. As the previous poster has pointed out you have open iTunes and use the Add file to Library or Add folder to Library option to put songs into the library. If you are simply putting them in a folder on your computer and expecting them to show in iTunes that's not going to happen: Adding Content to iTunes
You could also have a look at this third party program for Windows: iTunes Folder Watch for Windows

  • Merging MP3 music with still image

I'm trying to play an MP3 music file in conjuntion with a still image being displayed.
Not sure if Quicktime is the best program to use for this.
Ultimately I'm trying to upload a video to youtube. The video is just a still jpeg image that doesn't have any effects. I also have an MP3 music file I would like to play as the image is being displayed and run on the youtube video.
I am going to need to convert the music and video to the appropriate youtube format as well so any help here would also be appreciated.
This seems like the most simplest of tasks but i'm pretty new to using Mac so not quite sure which application is best to use.
    Thanks.

I find that other options than quicktime work best for this and suggest you post a version of this question in the iMovie discussion list (both HD and 09), as well in the iPhoto list. Iphoto has a fine slideshow option that lets you merge music with photos. Easy and on all Macs. (Here is the iPhoto tutorial for slideshows...http://www.apple.com/findouthow/photos/#slideshow)
Also one can check out the Aperture list. Aperture has a wonderful slideshow option that allows direct upload to YouTube. It does cost though.
Other options include Final Cut Express, though that is expensive overkill for this simple project.
If you have iMovie 09, you can put the image in, put the time to the time of the music, drag the music file in, upload to YouTube. Feel free to email me, but I advise checking out the Apple tutorials.
