C'mon what's happening to nokia.I wish i've never bought this device.I hope nokia will face this issues and realease a GOOD SOFTWARE that can fix this problems. An I hope that NOKIA BELLE could also intoduce in nokia asha 311
this is not smart phone

Where is the Asha line advertised as smartphones? afaik Nokia is clear these are (entry level) featurephones based on S30.
If you would be better of with a different phone why did you not do your homework before you bought the phone?
Nokia Belle will not come to Asha phones. Bell has completely different and much higher hardware requirements.

  • Is this a problem with the Sudden Motion Sensor or the HDD?

I have a MacBook that I purchased in Septemberof this year, and for a while I have been having a problem with the HDD. I understand that there is a Sudden Motion Sensor that parks the hard disk when the computer is moved suddenly, but every hour or so I can hear the HDD make a single loud click for seemingly no reason at all. The computer can be sitting on my desk with no applications running and this will still happen. This is not really much of a problem other than the annoying noise, but if I am playing music or a video from the HDD it will skip when it does this. I have disabled the SMS for now to see if it will make a difference, I am very careful with my devices so I do not fear that I will cause any HDD damage without the SMS, but I am not sure if it is a problem with the HDD or the SMS. Could anyone shed some light on this for me?

Well turns out disabling the SMS did nothing so I'm going to just take it in and hope it can be fixed.

  • HT4211 I would like clarification on the official intended usage of the multi-tasking switcher.  Specifically, should apps be regularly closed (minus bubble) out of this list, or is the close feature closer to OS X's force quit.

It is not really necessary to close apps from there. It is more like a recently used apps list. You can close them from there if a problem occurs with the app, and there are only a few apps that will remain running when you close them with the Home button. You can see information about the multi-tasking bar in the User Guide. http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf

  • Is anyone having problems with the iPhone 5 motion sensors?

I having a problem with my phone when it comes to reading movement, the compass doesn't work when it asks to tilt phone to calibrate and in some games it doesn't read when I tilt the phone. I read that apple had a lot of customer complaints about bad motions sensors not be calibrated correctly and I was wondering if anyone else is having/had this problem and what was done to fix it.

I've not had this problem.  Thanks for asking.

  • Motion sensor

Is there anyway to re-calibrate or to reset the iphone motion sensor? I think mine is off balance. For example, there is a racing game called "Audi A4". When I am in the game, the car always turns to left if I place my iphone on the table. I have to hold my iphone in a way (left side is higher than the right side) to make the car go straight.

If you are sure the calibration is off, you should consult a mac genius and see if there isn't a defect with your iphone. As far as testing yourself, I suggest you download one of the "leveling apps". Then, level the area you will be placing the iphone on with a "real" level, and test that area with the iphone leveling app. Do you understand where I am coming from? This will be a true test to measure against.

  • Logic 9 sudden motion sensor error.

    Hi Guys,
my rig often gives me the "system overload, sudden motion sensor" error during playback, its driving me nuts, the thing that really gets me is that its a mac pro, booting off an SDD, audio is running off a fast drive and the whole lot is in a shockmounted flightcase, i have no idea how the sudden motion sensor could be doing anything at all.
does it have something to do with the 2.5" SSD the rig boots off?

Hi - I am experiencing this error as well. I believe the issue is due to Logic Pro not quite ready for Lion. I just bought a new iMac 2.5 GHz 4GB RAM.  Got it to run Logic, and found 9.1.1 doesn't even run on Lion. After upgrading to 9.1.5 the first thing I tried to do was open the demo projects from The Killers and Lilly Allen, to see what this software is all about. Logic hangs somewhere while loading all of the tracks/software instruments, and needs to be Force Quit. The Santigold project loads but it gives me this error about a minute into playing it:
Disk is too slow or system overload
    (-10010)
The sudden motion sensor may have parked the hard drive head, or the disk performance is not sufficient to read or write all audio tracks, or the system was not able to process all data in time.
I do not yet have an external drive and am not sure if running project files off a fast external (as opposed to the system drive running Logic) would resolve the issue. But I notice the error is broad and basically multi-purpose, not necessarily stating that your hard drive has parked for sure, rather that disc/system performance couldn't keep up. I haven't duplicated the error when playing my own projects, with less tracks/software instruments. I think that there may be a threshold where you can just push logic too far for Lion interoperability on this 9.1.5 release. Hoping for a new release soon! Good Luck!

  • N8 (motion) sensor incorrectly calibrated

Anyone having the same problem with their N8?
After I downloaded some free apps and games (level meter, angle meter, need for speed shift) that use the phone's motion sensor, I noticed the sensor is off by a few degrees. Can this be re-calibrated in the phone (not in the app itself) or do I need to return it for repair?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Yes mine too, Portraite to landscape mode display change some time takes ages!, if you are using swype keyboard then it will too add up to this delay.
Compass related apps ( except maps ) on my N8 never shows proper direction, this could be due to missing magnetometer in N8?
Re calibration options are not provided for the user. About the repair it depends on how serious is this mis calibration.

  • About Sudden Motion Sensor

Lately, I heard about this thing which called as Sudden Motion Sensor. Yes I do why it’s built in mac but is there one in MacBook Pro 13 inch which comes with 2.66 GHz processor?
And I heard about the games that uses this sensor but when I downloaded neverball and tried it in my mac. It didn’t worked as I saw in youtube.com (in the video the man was moving his mac). So, does this mean that my mac doesn’t contain Sudden Motion Sensor? Or there’s something that I need to do to operate it with such games?
    and thx in advance

People have used it for many different things. Just search for "sudden motion" at VersionTracker or MacUpdate, for example.
It's also been used for game control in the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad.

  • How do I use elvis to record data from a pasco rotary motion sensor

I want to use a pasco rotary motion sensor (a rotary encoder) with ELVIS to record angular velocity.  I have a LabPro system which I could also interface.  But I was hoping to keep the hardware less complicated by wiring the sensor directly to ELVIS.  Does anyone have a sample .vi which would record sensor output?

    Hi PCM,
Measuring the time between pulses can be a little complicated. You can have a look at this knowledge base to get an idea of how it can be accomplished. However, since the sensor's output is a stream of digital pulses you can use the counters in this card to get some information from the digital signal. You can use one of the counter’s inputs in the NI-ELVIS and get the frequency or period of the digital signal. One good point to get started is by looking at the counters examples built in LabVIEW, you can find them going to Help > Find Examples > Hardware Input and Output > DAQmx > Counter Measurements. I hope this is helpful.

  • What are your impressions of "multi-tasking"?

If you have iOS4 and a capable device, you should have multi-tasking and opened apps appearing in the task bar. Newer app versions are able to run in the background. In my opinion, when I close most apps (by pressing the home button), I want them to close completely, not run in the background. Aside from being a privacy issue, apps in the task bar may use battery power or if truly in a suspended mode, they still take up memory or process capability. In order to really shut them down, two additional home button clicks and then two more screen strokes are required. Not very efficient and probably leading to an earlier home button failure. Why not have some kind of screen command (tap or swipe combination?) to simultaneously shut down all apps in the task bar? The bar itself is useless if you have used many apps in the course of a day. To find what you're looking for, you have to scroll through a long parade of icons. It's a lot easier to just tap the icon where you know it is sitting in the nice folder you created. I don't get it. I realize the bar can be used for switching open apps, but this is really not that big of a deal for the vast majority of apps. Furthermore, there should be an option to enable or disable multi-tasking globally as well as for individual apps. Now that would be an improvement.
    What are your thoughts?

I havent done any kind of multitasking on my ipod touch, im waiting to upgrade my software to the newer one. However, I couldnt agree more with that of pressing the home button many times to perform basic function to switch apps or enable the multitasking ability. I think palm adapted a better design of software than apple ever did with their IOS 4. Palm's webOS can handle full multitasking--something the iPhone can't do. Palm uses what it calls "a deck of cards model" for managing multitasking: You can view each of your open applications at once, shuffle them any way you choose, and then discard the ones you want to close. All of this is done with intuitive gestures that mimic handling a physical deck of cards. Apps remains live, even when minimized into the card view, so changes can continue to happen in real-time, even if you've moved on to another activity.
I had the time to experience a bit of a palm web os software on an AT&T store and my impression on that software is done more elegantly than apple multitasking home pressing button system.
P.S to NYtroutbum: you should definitely present that idea to apple by its feedback product page. Let's hope it listens.

  • Hard drive upgrade on 13" MBP sudden motion sensor compatibility

    Hello,
I'm planning on upgrading the hard drive in my 13" MBP (aluminium unibody) and I've read a lot of posts regarding the sudden motion sensor conflicts with OS X 10.6.2. I'd like to know if the Western Digital 500GB Scorpio Blue here (http://www.dabs.com/products/western-digital-500gb-scorpio-blue-5400rpm-sata-300 -8mb-58P6.html) would suffer from the conflict (I'm not sure if "Shock Guard" = sudden motion sensor). I don't know if its a simple yes/no or whether its drive / mac specific.
If it would be a problem does anyone have a suggestion for a guaranteed compatible 500Gb hard drive (5400 rpm is fine)?
Any thoughts are much appreciated, thanks for your help!

Western Digital Lists their drive features as:
    * IntelliSeek™ - IntelliSeek technology calculates optimum seek speeds to lower power consumption, noise and vibration.
    * SecurePark™ - WD's SecurePark technology parks the recording heads off the disk surface during spin up, spin down and when the drive is off. This ensures the recording head never touches the disk surface resulting in improved long term reliability due to less head wear, and improved shock tolerance.
    * ShockGuard™ - WD's ShockGuard technology protects the drive mechanics and platter surfaces from shocks during shipping and handling and in daily operation.
    * Free-fall Sensor - As an added layer of protection, if the drive (or the system it's in) is dropped while in use, WD's free-fall sensor detects that the drive is falling and, in less than 200 milliseconds, parks the head off the disks to help prevent damage and data loss.
    * WhisperDrive™ - WD's exclusive WhisperDrive technology combines state-of-the-art seeking algorithms that result in one of the quietest 2.5-inch drives on the market.
The Free Fall Sensor is the equivalent of the Sudden Motion Sensor. Looking at the specs for the drive you linked to... they list the following features:
    Shock Guard, WhisperDrive, SecurePark
As they do not list Free Fall Sensor, I'm guessing this model does not have one so it should not conflict with the internal Sudden Motion Sensor in your MacBook.

  • 10.6.8 update and sudden motion sensor

I have MBP 8,1, 2011 base model i5. Since i updated to 10.6.8 it seems like sudden motion sensor got a lot more sensitive. Never seen it work before, now if i lift the mbp from desk even i can hear the hdd clicking home. I have disabled the sensor and it stops even i move the computer around very fast. So it is not just the drive doing, sensor is triggering that.
I was wondering if anyone knows if sensivity of this sensor changed on last mac os update? or if anyone else noticed it too?
    Thx
    Ozzy

    Hi Ozzy,
I have not noticed any difference on my MBP.
You can try an SMC Reset, which can resolve SMS issues: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964

  • Problem with the Motion Sensor

I just bought my 15" MBP, and was just messing around with it. I downloaded LiquidMac(a program that simulates liquid on your screen and when you tilt your laptop the water flows to that corner of the screen).
And i don't know if my motion sensors are mounted on wrong or what, but when I tilt my MBP to the right the liquid flows up to the other corner. LiquidMac has this option to flip the axis, (so the liquid flows the opposite way) and when I do that then the liquid flows the way I tilt it.
Is this even a problem worth bugging customer support about? Should I consider getting it fixed?
I remember using liquidmac with my old iBook and it would work fine.

Going with a no... your going to bug customer support about a program you downloaded... how is that their problem... if you are going to call anyone about this matter then why wouldn't it be to company you got the program from?
