No music on unit

Went to add music to my shuffle and after disconnect from computer, I try to play the shuffle & get the green/red flash(no music on unit).
But in itunes the shuffles contents shows all the music is there!
Even if I try n delete all then re-add the music, its the same.
Funny thing when I do this each song is copied in 1sec, instead of a longer time when I added them the first time like it sees the files are there already...???

Also under my computer I can access the shuffle and see the files under
iPod_Control with directories itunes and music.
The music has folders F00,F01,F02 with scrambled .m4a files inside so I know the music is on the ipod!
Why does it keep flashing, "no music on unit"???

I downloaded 90 songs tonight and shows on my music list. When I sync the ipod it says synced but when I go to play it the green and orange light flash which means no music on unit. My songs are in the list but not on the shuffle. What did I do wrong? Thanks

I'm having essentially the same problem. I can drag Podcasts from the Podcast library onto my iPod, but when I drag songs or audiobooks (ripped from CD) from my Music Library, the Podcasts are there when I diconnect, but the music is not. I wait until it says "Okay to Disconnect". It worked fine a few days ago, but yesterday and today, it's like the music doesn't stick.

"No music on unit" error for shuffle 2G

the problem:
plug in shuffle, drag songs from itunes, check they are there (they appear as a playlist when i click on the ipod item, and the ipod memory indicates it is holding the songs), disconnect ipod, press play - getting indicators lights signalling no music on unit. I have restored ipod software several times. What is the solution??
As a part answer, there seems to be no problem at all when i use autofill (so i know its not a hardware problem). As such, if i drag the majority of sings and then autofill the rest of the space, there is also no problem, but this could get quite annoying, and isnt really satisfactory as to why i have paid a lot of money for something that doesnt work quite right.
any ideas??

PROB FOR SB DIGITAL MUSIC

Hello, I have done a search on here but can't seem to make much sense of it all. Basically....i just purchased a SB Digital Music SX unit. I am running Windows Vista. I installed the software all ok off the CD, downloaded and installed the USB Driver but everytime i plug it in i get the message that it cannot find drivers. Are their drivers for SB Digital Music SX for Windows Vista Sorry in advance if this question has been asked a million times. I have 64bit vista with 4GB ram, evga 680i mb, c2d, 8800gtx sli and nothing but loud static pours out of my speakers using the latest driver (2_5_0002) but when using the 2_3_002 driver the sound is fairly normal. The thing is I waited 6 months since last driver release hoping this latest release would fix the problem only to find that nothing is changed as far as static/noise. Help, My iPod just turns on and off...my PC doesn't even get to "see" it.

I just got the 5G 60 Gig iPod. I was charging it for the first time. And of course windows wanted to jump on in. iTunes started up and wanted to transfer music, the unit wanted it's initial setup, but iTunes switched it over to th Do Not Disconnect mode. I got the register your new iPod screens to come up, then music started automatically transfering. Then I got I must reboot my computer screen...I ignored it, figuring it had to finish getting the music transfered. Then about a 1/3 into the music tansfer, I got some kind of could not find error concening the music, then my computer stopped doing anything. I did a restart, no all my iPod does is turn on and off by itself, (from the Apple icon, to back off) and won't stop doing it. I tried resetting the unit, but then it still continues. Connecting and reconnecting the USB cable, restarting the PC etc....Help, what do I do. Frustrated is beyond what I'm feeling right now...I keep thinking what the **** I just spent, for this to be the end result!! Is this unit fried? Or will it get damaged!!! HELP

I had exactly the same issue when connecting my new BLACK 60mb Video iPod to connect to my PC via USB 2.0.
The iPod kept Crashing & Freezing also iTunes become unstable and very slow, it kept saying "unable to write to disk" every 5 minutes and I had to disconnect & re-connect for the same message to show again in 5 mins later, it eventually told me not to disconnect the iPod. However, after 30 mins i just did it.
I then opened iPod updater and re-attached my ipod with USB 1.
This seemed to take an age to recognise (5 mins +) but bear with it. Once it was connected I reinstated to factory settings, once I did this it automatically told me to update my software to 1.1.1.
When I then opened iTunes it again took 5 mins to connect, but it then started to transfer my music, which took over 6 hours to do 22MB.
Having said that I have had no "can not write messages"
Today I have conencted (again taking 5 mins to connect) but it has transfered over 1000 photos in under 4 mins and updated all tunes.

the column sort in a standard report (RP or Q) does sort the lower case values at the end of the alphabet; how can I integrate the lower case values in to the regular sequence of the alpha letters ?
Example of desc order: it starts with lower case :

- as I cannot influence the Sorting of the inbuilt sort mechanism - how can I manage to integrate e.g. dpa (*) between Echo and Dora Co. ?

use the INITCAP() function for that column (a). Fetch the same column once again without
using the INITCAP function and hide it (b). In the properties of the column a ==> HTML
Expression enter #b# in order to display column b. This way the column will display the text
as is (b) but sort on capital initial letters (a).
However, using a standard report doesn't allow any modification of the columns within the
query. There, you would need a view to query upon. Or you just use a "normal" report.

Zen Nano won't turn

Cannot turn unit on to listen to music. Press & hold Play/Pause button with no result. Changed battery 5x, includng a battery that works in other Zen Nano unit.
Able to load music onto unit via computer. Display shows transfer icon when attached to computer via USB cable.

If you have correctly installed the latest firmware and it still doesn't switch on then it looks as if the unit is faulty. Contact Tech Support or return it to the retailer you got it from.

The music does not belong to you. You have no legal right to it and there is no way to keep it.

Last summer I bought a music album from iTunes. I've already transferred all my orders from my units, but somehow iTunes wants me to pay for the same album again. When I try to add it to my wish list it simply tells me that I've already bought that item.

Hey sorry for the late response but I've been out of town. I can copy and paste the email responses if necessary or desired, and if it's fixed already this is a moot point anyway, but basically they kept asking me for the order numbers for the two songs I already bought from the specific album I was trying to complete, which I eventually gave them - along with telling them multiple times that the Complete My Album feature wasn't working for ANY album. They gave me two free song codes to compensate me for the two songs I bought, and then told me to go and buy the album at full price, but the ENTIRE TIME they COMPLETELY ignored that I was telling them that this wasn't an issue with one album but was a larger, seemingly systematic issue that other people were experiencing. Even after I got the song codes I emailed them back and said AGAIN that this wasn't an isolated feature, and they just sent me the link to the apple Feedback page (http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html) and told me to submit my complaint there. So, technically, my issue was never really "resolved," in that they never fixed the Complete My Album feature that I am aware of - or even acknowledged that anything needed fixing, but I haven't tested it since Sunday.
If it's working for you, then hopefully they fixed it! I've noticed they've updated to 10.4.1, but the notes don't indicate they're fixing anything about the Complete My Album feature, so I don't know.

Why does my iPhone 4s start playing music when I connect to a bluetooth unit?

I have recently bought a new 4s and have attempted to use it with my Automedia handsfree bluetooth unit in the car. The phone worked fine with my previous (Android) phone, but whenever I receive a call on the 4s it starts playing music through the bluetooth unit as well as the telephone conversation. This does not happen when I make a call. Any suggestions on how I can stop the music playing? (The phone wont let me swap to the music player to put the music on hold either.) Any help greatly appreciated as this is really annoying.

I considered that too, but when I double clicked the home button to show what apps were running, there was nothing there. I just don't understand how anything would have opened because I hadn't touched my phone in several minutes.

Playback of video and music slow after unit has been in standby

I recently purchased a 64GB playbook and loaded a few movies in AVI and MP4 format as well as afew albums in MP3 format, When playing the files all works fine until the device is put into standby and then restarted, the video and music playback is running at around a quarter of the speed ond is choppy, even the HD demo plays back at the reduced rate, when the device is switched off and restarted then everything is back to normal until the unit goes into standby again, I have a 16GB device abd this one plays the same files with no problems.
Does anyone have any idea of what the problem could be

4.1 update on 3GS causes music to jump/skip on Pioneer head unit

Hi.
Regrettably I updated to iOS 4.1 before leaving on a 4 week trip.
Not good as now when it's plugged into my Pioneer head unit using USB the iPod feature is unusable.
It skips and pauses in about 5sec bursts of music.
I'm staring down the barrel of 8000 km & 4 weeks with no music!
Not good Apple. You need to fix this asap!
Now my phone is just a phone. Not good enough at all.

I too am suffering greatly with my beloved ipod 64. It has always had minor skipping that seems to come and go when connected to my Pioneer avh-4100dvd. I never thought to blame updates for the problem as I use the travel van just once or twice a month the Pioneer is in. Recently I told my Audio installer the Pioneer needs fixing or I'm ready to junk it but if it's a os bug what are we supposed to do?
