No Music/Podcasts/Films showing in iTunes

Windows 7 64 bit.
Latest version of iTunes. Using it fine last night, open it today, and all of my music has dissapeared. I still have my music saved in the music folders but it's not showing up in iTunes. I know i can import it back but how can a piece of software like this be so unstable?

Importing in this crappy piece of software is a slow process too. Drag and drop behaves like a slow mentally disabled old man. I have to stick with iTunes though, because of my iPhone/iPod.

Have you selected the content to sync to your iPad in your sync settings in iTunes. The content that you want to transfer must be selected (checked or "ticked") to sync out will not transfer when you sync.
For instance - if you want to sync music....
Connect the iPad to the computer and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Music Tab on the right.
Click on the albums or playlists that you want to sync - or the entire library if you like.
Click on the Sync Music Heading.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
This applies to all content that you want to transfer from iTunes to your iPad. Make the selections in the appropriate tabs in the iTunes window on the right.

Getting music podcast to show up in podcast on iPod ??

How can I get music podcast to show in the podcast listing on my ipod.
They want to put themselves in the music area on the ipod.
In iTunes they show in the podcsat section..why do they not show in the podcast on the ipod?

Connect your iPod to your computer. Go to edit-->preferences. Hit the iPod tab, then the podcasts tab under that. Make sure transfer all podcasts automatically is checked. Click OK.
Also, know that podcast episodes will show up under Music-->Songs. The podcasts themselves should show up under Music-->Podcasts.

I have transferred my music to new computer but music is not showing in iTunes - although is on the computer as if I select a song from the folder it will play that song via iTunes. How can I get my music to show?

I have transferred my music to a new computer following the instructions carefully but for whatever reason the music does not show on iTunes on the new computer. The music is there as I can access it via My Computer and if I select a song it will show in iTunes and play - however I can not do this for every single track! Can anyone suggest something I have done wrong????

Media was moved via external hard disk, and I think I moved the iTunes Media folder after consolidating it.

All music & apps not showing in iTunes

I recently purchased the new MacBook Pro 15" and transferred all my iTunes music, apps etc from a backup from my Time Capsule. However, when I open up my iTunes, the screens meant to be showing my music and apps are blank.
I can access the iTunes store and if I press play then the first song on my list plays and then iTunes crashes.

Thanks for the response. I'm not sure what you mean by right click on the device. In the upper right hand corner of iTunes I see the device, but I am unable to right click on it.
I really just wanted to have the apps show up in iTunes so that i could update them all. (This is how I did it before they all disappeared). But I guess I can just update them directly on my iPad and iPhone. Is there a reason i need to have them show in iTunes is I can update and manage them directly on my iPad?

Make sure you have Automatic Downloads setup on your iMac and iPhone.

Older podcasts not showing on itunes

Our school has made about 20 podcasts. However, only the last 7 or so are showing up on itunes. All are still on the web and available for download. Does anyone have any ideas?

iTunes is displaying all of the Items that are
currnetly in your feed.
This is not an iTunes issue this is an issue with
your feed. For some reason some of the items are no
longer in your feed.
You need to look at your raw Blogger RSS Feed to see
if those items are still there or if they have been
removed from the feed. Just because they are on your
website does not mean they are still in your feed.
Your iTunes page will only display what is active in
your feed up to the first 100 items.

My purchased music does not show in iTunes on my new mac

I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro. The iTunes library was transferred over by the Apple store employees, but my purchased music does not show. How can I get my purchased music to show in iTunes? (I previously had a Windows PC). Thank you!

The 'Purchased' music is just a special Playlist. You can create your own and drag the links into the 'Purchased' PL.
Using the command CMD-J you can add the Purchase date to your list view - sort by date - drag the tunes to the 'Purchased' PL.

My iTunes music is not showing in iTunes

I just bought a new iMac and wanted to move my iTunes library from my MacBook to my iMac. I followed the directions in the set up assistant. I copied the entire iTunes folder (not just media or music) onto an external hard drive. I then merged that iTunes folder with the one on my new iMac. When I look in a finder window I can see all of my music in the iTunes/iTunes Media/Music folder. However, when I open iTunes the only music there is what I have purchased on iTunes. Why isn't iTunes reading the correct folder? I have made sure it is directed to the right folder in preferences (see screen shot) but it's still not showing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Iphone 4S iTunes music purchase not showing in iTunes on Mac

I purchased a song on my iPhone 4S using the same iTunes account that I use on my MacPro running Lion and the latest version of iTunes.
The purchased song shows up on my Mac iTunes under "purchased", but it does not show up in Music when I search for the song.
I did confirm that the song did download to my Mac from the iTunes store automatically. I am an iCloud subscriber and all of my devices have been synched with iCloud.
Why doesn't it show up in my regular music catalog on my Mac? Any suggestions to fix this are greatly appreciated.

Deleted music from phone showing in iTunes?

I have it set to manage music manually. When I swipe delete music directly on the phone, the phone knows it's gone but it still shows up in iTunes. When clicked it just gives the exclamation mark in a circle icon. I have tried syncing, restarting, resetting, unplugging, and nothing seems to work.
The phone recognizes the deletion, the memory capacities match up, but iTunes still shows the music as being on the phone.

I found the answer. You have to delete the itl file. When iTunes opens it will give you the scanned is option.

My recent podcasts are showing on iTunes site but not in podcast app or iTunes

I've never used this forum before, but am struggling to find out what is going wrong with my podcasts.
I have a podcast that has been running fine for some time, but now no longer updates in the podcast app, or in my podcast subscriptions in iTunes.

The last episode I can see in my iTunes podcast subscriptions and podcast app is episode 55, yet the most recent, episode 59, shows fine on the itunes website.
Is there a reason that I can listen to the most recent episode via the itunes site, but my subscriptions wont update?
It seems that the problem has been experienced by several people.
As far as I'm aware, I havent changed the way I do anything.
Any help would be appreciated.

The 'itunes:summary' tag for the episode of 19th January ends like this -
"This year, I will exercise more.&quot...</itunes:summary>
As the '"' tag has been truncated you have an ampersand (indicating the start of a code sequence) but the code is never finished. This renders the rest of the feed unreadable, and as that includes the closing tags the entire feed is invalidated and iTunes cannot read it.
There's no reason to have all these '"' tags - just type " (iTunes won't render the code but will display it, which looks messy) - but in any case don't let a code be truncated like that or you will have this problem.
Incidentally it's better all round to start your own thread when you have a query, rather than tag on to an existing one which can cause confusion if a discussion is ongoing. You're also more likely to be noticed.

HT201272 Past music purchases not showing in iTunes store

So I've got iTunes 11.0.2 and am trying to access music that I've previously purchased. I've followed the instructions on this page to access them:
iTunes store -> Music -> Music Quick Links -> Purchased.
On this screen, all I can see is three tabs: Films, Apps, and Books (screenshot attached). All of them are empty. No Music tab, although I've bought some music just yesterday.
I'm trying to access some albums that I bought a couple of years ago - they should be available, just as the more recent music purchases.

Ipod music does not show in Itunes

Hello! I am new to the forum and was hoping someone could provide some advise please. I previously used Windows with my Ipod - they were synced. I have since purchased a Macbook Pro. My previous Itunes playlist (windows) is on the Ipod, but no longer on my current Itunes (macbook). I want to play music from my Ipod on my Mac and possible transfer music from the Ipod to the Mac. I have ticked 'manually manage', when I plug in the Ipod, however, it does not show any music Ipod content on Itunes. Am I missing something basic? Thank you so much.

possible transfer music from the Ipod to the Mac.
First, if you have not done so, launch iTunes on your Mac. From the iTunes menu bar top of your screen click Store > Authorize This Computer.
Now connect the iPod.
Now from the menu bar again click File > Transfer Purchases from ...
For "non" iTunes purchases you may need to use a third party utility.

Purchased music does not show in itunes. Only the artists

I purchased a couple albums on my iPhone. It shows the artist in the iTunes store and that there are 22 items, but it does not show the music for me to download it to my library.

Depending upon what country that you are in you might be able to redownload the albums via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your PC's iTunes, or on the current version of iTunes you can access the Purchased section by clicking on your name towards the top right of the iTunes screen and then Purchased on the popup
If they show there then click on the cloud icons on them to download them
