No navigation bar or photos

Hi all,
I'm just publishing two new sites with iWeb '09 and they're both missing the navigation bars at the top, as well as the photos on the Photo page. The photos have uploaded but just aren't displaying. I've viewed them in both FF3.0.7 and Safari. They appear correctly in iWeb.
As a test, I created a new site, "andrewtest2", added two pages, the Welcome page and the Photos page, leaving them with all the default files that iWeb adds. That site is here:

I've recreated my iWeb preferences file, and rebooted.
Anything else to try?

I'm having the same exact problem. My site looks great on my local folder, but the second I view it in Safari below is what I see. Thankfully I didn't assume it would work (thanks mac) and created a test page. Has anyone figured out how to FIX this problem. You'll also see formatting issues, which I NEVER had with iWeb06. What I saw locally, was what I saw live. I have not rearranged folders. Do I need to upload the entire site? Is the nav menu hidden somewhere in the files? I really don't want to go that route and have my entire site be useless. Any help would be appreciated!

(Note I recently upgraded from 06 to 09. I had minor editing things to fix (Fonts out of size, pics got larger, etc - but everything looks fine now if I view it locally. It just seems to be once it's live on the web. HELP!)

View rotation and not rotating navigation bar

Hi, I want to do some rotating view, exactly like the Photos App in the iPhone, and I notice they don't rotate the navigation bar when photos are rotated. Is there a switch or something else, or as I'm suspecting, the as just reading the accelerometer? (Facebook app does this as well)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they do that manually. I don't think the automatic rotation handling by UIViewController will do it.

Photos disappear when I don't use the navigation bar

I read that it's better to create your own links instead of using the iWeb navigation bar, if you want your site to be indexed by Google. I did so and everything worked well on my computer (iWeb and in the saved folder). When I published the site, however, the photos on my photo page had all disappeared.
Does anyone know what might have happened?

I completely removed the new nav bar from the site and put back the standard one, so I'm not sure. When the site was uploading, however, I think I saw the image files being uploaded.
Now I'm trying to work with the nav bar on the left hand side of the page and with new buttons, and in the trial version the foto's magically appeared...

How to remove white status bar (or navigation panels) in photo app

Since I downloaded the new iOS7, the status bar (or navigation bars on top and bottom) in the photo app stays and is white. With the older OS version, it was black and disappeared after a couple of second. Now the white bar stays and you do not have a full view of the picture (top and bottom is cut off when holding it lengthwise) Any idea how to remove this? Thanks

Not sure what you mean by "status bar". There are two navigation panels, one at the top and one at the bottom. No, you can't remove those if that is what you mean.

Can i use Fireworks created Navigation Bar in iWeb?

I am new to iweb and want to have a specific layout for my website. I don't want any of the templates, so I used fireworks to create a Navigation bar with buttons that have prelinked to the "standard" html, i.e. home.html, photos.html.
can i use this with iweb? how? if not, and i just use each button indvidually, can i create a text description of the button (so webcrawlers can see my navigation bar)?

Navigation bar moves

I've inserted a Flash navigation bar to the left of the
larger photos on my galleries. It's positioned just fine for a
panoramic but when I load another image, a vertical or full frame
horz. the nav bar moves up or down according to the size of the
photograph. I would like to have it anchored at a set distance from
the thumbnail images in the upper bar so it's not bouncing up and
down.

Put your navbar in a div above the gallery itself, center and
style it as
you wish .. then put the gallery in a div under that and it
should stay
within its div without interfering with the navbar.

How to hide Navigation bar

In photo application on iPhone, if you click an image and wait a few seconds.
The navigation bar above will disappear and give you the full screen view.
How could I implement this in SDK?
I saw UINavigatioinbar is a private class inside UIViewController.
How can I set its view.hidden to YES?

Any view can be animated. Use alpha value to fade in and out. See docs for animation examples.

Book Title in Navigation Bar Does Not Display Correctly

Hi,
I tried creating a epub file following Epub Best Practices ebook but after creation and loading of the ebook, I noticed that the book title at the navigation bar is not appearing correctly. The only the upper half of the text is shown so it appears that the text is cut in half. What should I do to correct this?

It seems that ADE is having errors displaying the book title when it has a non-breaking space. The book title in the previous post contains an non-breaking space. And when I replaced it with a regular space, the display was fixed. See link for the screen grab:

Navigation bar not functioning

Hello,
I have a published site (debotahvrogers.net) that was updating and now when I update my navigation bar does not work. I am using iweb '09 3.0.1
I have tried refresh, cache and cookie removal, made sure my photo was not overlapping in to the navigation bar. At one point friends could view the whole site even though I could not. I had someone check the site tis a.m. and she could only access the home page. I have notified my server and Apple. In the mean time does anyone have some insight on my problem??

I had a similar problem yesterday. It had five pages but could only view the home page (because the nav bar wasn't working) but I typed the URL of my other four pages into the address bar and I could view them then. I checked back this morning and the nav buttons worked. I host on godaddy.com so I assume it just took awhile for the FTP to complete transfer. If you host through MobileMe I would wait a day, but if it still doesn't work contact Apple.

The Navigation Bar is missing, where can i find it??

I have looked for the navigation bar by right clicking on the open area and trying to find the buttons and have had no luck. I checked "view" thinking that it might be in there. When i right click the only options that I have are Menu Bar, and Bookmarks bar. I want to have Reload, stop, and my forward button back. If you could please help me I would greatly appreciate it. Firefox has always been my favorite browser and I'm upset that I am unable to find my navigation bar. Thank you!

In this photo, I took a screenshot of my browser window while I am right clicking, so that you can see that there is indeed, no "Navigation Toolbar" option for me to click. There isn't even anything Greyed out. And no sir, I have the menu bar turned on. It's the one at the top that says; File, Edit, View, History, etc.

Unbelievable! iweb stopped showing my sites in navigation bar

I go to open iweb this morning and the sites I have been working on no longer popped up. I do have a file on my desktop with them (published to folder) but the software does not show these sites. anymore! It's asking me to create a "new" site. What happened?
1. How do I get iweb to "see" these files again (i know it doesnt import)
2. How do I get it to open in the way it was before with all of the sites in the navigation bar?
3. How will I be able to make edits on my published site if iweb doesnt keep these in the navigation bar?

Do a search on the HD for "domain.site" to see if you have another file somewhere on the HD that may be the one you used previously. I assume you don't have a backup strategy, right? If I'm worng and you do can you get a earlier copy of it to see if it has your more current site?
There's no other way to recreate you site but to start from scratch. You can, however, use some of the files in the published site, photos, graphics, etc. But that's about it.

Navigation bar stopped working

I was using Apache and installed IIS after that some of my
buttons stopped working. When I copy the website to my laptop, it
still works fine. What's going on? Please help!!!!

The navigation bar certainly works, but it is very fussy about the precise positioning of the cursor, which I find needs to be slightly higher than expected in order to activate the links. (Notice the difference between these and the email hyperlink down the page.) The outline of the top image on your Welcome displays while it loads, I noticed that its top edge coincides with the centre of the navigation bar, and I suspect this is what's causing the problem. Repositioning this so as not to impinge on the navigation bar would definitely improve the situation.
Similar behaviour is apparent on the Photos and Words pages (in the case of the latter, only the first four items on the navigation bar are affected, the ones which coincide with the image of the Penn Valley Directory). Take a look at your image positioning in iWeb. Turn on Show Layout. That often gives an immediate visual answer to problems such as this. As a general rule of thumb, it's advisable not to overlap the navigation bar with any other items.

HELP/Problems with pull-down navigator bar

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if I could get some input. I have just
re-designed our magazine's site, www.easternsurf.com
I used Pop-Up menu function in Fireworks 8 to generate our
Navigator bar. For the most part everything has been working well,
BUT we've had a couple of complaints that the navigator bar's
pull-down menus get stuck behind the photos/banner ads/etc. instead
of in front of them when viewing in Internet Explorer. I'm on the
Mac platform (OSX Tiger/Macromedia Studio 8) and have seen no
problems viewing in Safari, Firefox and Netscape. The only
complaints have come from Internet Explorer users. A couple of
people updated their browser to the newest version and the problem
disappeared, however we've still had a couple of people that have
written in that the newest version of IE is still not displaying
properly.
Also we've got a strip of button ads running down the left
hand side of each page and I've also seen another issue that's
common on sites of this type...when the pulldown menu overlaps with
a Flash element, there is a problem with the screen re-draw. I've
seen this on several other sites and know it's a common problem,
but does anyone know of a workaround where this won't happen? I
just noticed that signing on to Adobe's site, there almost seems to
be a command where the menu keeps re-drawing at a very rapid rate
so this won't happen.
Any input would be greatly appreciated, although I'm Mac all
the way, we are a business and have to get this site visible for
everyone!

Please Perform a Battery Pull Restart like this While Device is Powered On remove the Battery wait for a min. then re-insert it back wait till the device take a long Reboot.And see if that helps.

No navigation bar when publish to FTP

Hi there, when I publish my website via FTP, the navigation bar disappears so I am only able to view and navigate to the root URL or home page. Check out what I mean at: jaimejacobsenmedia.com (Under "Jaime Jacobsen Media", it should say "HOME ABOUT FILMS RADIO PHOTOS CONTACT)
Any ideas on how to fix this so all pages are published and show up in the navigation bar up top?

Normally, when this happens, it means that not all your files have been uploaded to your server.
You actually need to be able to see what has been uploaded to your server and what has not and you can't do this if you use iWeb ftp. From iWeb, publish your site to a local folder and download a copy of Cyberduck for free and if you connect to your server using this, then you can see exactly what files are on your server and what are not.
Also check that your image is not covering your navigation menu, which it can easily do and it is close. It only takes a tiny little overlap of the boxes on the page and either your navigation menu will not show up or will not work.
Check both of these. If it is your graphic that is covering then you will have to move it.

Color of navigation bar words

Can you change the color of the site words that come up in the navigation bar? (like blog, photos, etc. .. pages on your site) I can't seem to find an option anywhere for that .. and mine are "gray" and sometimes it just doesn't show up on backgrounds I use. Thanks for your help anyone ..... Vicky

See this topic by sboben: How To Change Hyperlinks And Nav Menu Colors. He describes how to chance the colors in the template so you don't have to do any post publish editing. You do it once for a theme and that's it.
