No navigation bar when publish to FTP

Hi there, when I publish my website via FTP, the navigation bar disappears so I am only able to view and navigate to the root URL or home page. Check out what I mean at: jaimejacobsenmedia.com (Under "Jaime Jacobsen Media", it should say "HOME ABOUT FILMS RADIO PHOTOS CONTACT)
Any ideas on how to fix this so all pages are published and show up in the navigation bar up top?
Thanks!

Normally, when this happens, it means that not all your files have been uploaded to your server.
You actually need to be able to see what has been uploaded to your server and what has not and you can't do this if you use iWeb ftp. From iWeb, publish your site to a local folder and download a copy of Cyberduck for free and if you connect to your server using this, then you can see exactly what files are on your server and what are not.
Also check that your image is not covering your navigation menu, which it can easily do and it is close. It only takes a tiny little overlap of the boxes on the page and either your navigation menu will not show up or will not work.
Check both of these. If it is your graphic that is covering then you will have to move it.

  • IWeb Navigation Bar Not Publishing

    When I am proofing my site I am getting an unknown publishing error.  When I look at the what downloads I am not seeing my navigation bar or my Blog.  I can't see anywhere in the troubleshooting why this would happen.  Help?

    Where are you seeing the errors in your website: in a locally published site or in the online site? What browser are you using?

  • Problem not being able to click on photo album in nav bar when published

    Still a newbie I am trying to make an iweb site. Everything has gone well and after a week of playing around with it at nights this is my site: www.tinybulls.com. Nothing fancy but hopefully it will work for me.
    Everything is functioning well, I think (fingers crossed), except that the photo album button in the navigation bar is not clickable and i cannot get into that page when published. I use Safari if that info helps.
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks in advance!

    You created image files for each link and linked the box. A quick test would be do delete the current linked object and recreate it.
    If you link the text rather than the text box or object you can format the text's rollover and visited color. Also having text based links are more search engine friendly.

  • How do I get the RSS feeds to work in iWeb'08 when published to FTP server?

    There are so many unresolved questions because I have published to an FTP server (Netfirms). HOWEVER, my next task at hand is to resolve the issue of a non-working RSS feed and download capabilities.
    The published website is www.vibrationalvoyages.com.
    When using Cyberduck to upload to Netfirms, I have to call the file name vibrationalvoyages.com because Netfirms organizes my files under a main folder called www (I also purchased the .org and .net extensions along with the singular spelling of the title, have forwarded those url's to the .com extension, which means I have different website names under Netfirm's main folder www, all pointing to www.vibrationalvoyages.com).
    I have to drop the www. in front of vibrationalvoyages.com when publishing to a folder on my computer so, when Cyberduck uploads the files into the main www folder, they are read correctly and published as www.vibrationalvoyages.com. In Cyberduck, the ftp address to upload is vibrationalvoyage.netfirms.com
    Before uploading, I use iTweak to insert the Statcounter tracking codes. Then, I use Rage to optimize the site to cut down on the weight (lots of photos). Then, finally, I get to upload which takes about an hour and a half.
    SO, HOW DO I GET THE RSS FEEDS TO WORK AS WELL AS THE OPTION TO DOWNLOAD AN MP3 RECORDED MEDITATIONS? I eventually also want to include the download option of podcasts.
    Please help! I am doing the best I can to stay in love with Mac but he is turning out to be a pot load of work and the love affair is wearing a little thin.
    I haven't even asked about why iWeb still calls some pages 'The family picnic" or why it switches the url addresses to the individual pages. Probably because in the early stages, I copied an entry rather than just do a new one... but I'll worry about that later. I want to get this 'fixed' first and then I'll address the issue, following Roddy's advice to another writer about installing a flash player, for easy download of the MP3 meditations and for when I record the lessons as podcasts. Until I get this RSS issue resolved, however, podcast downloads are out of the question!

    Thank you for checking, Tom,
    I'm confused. What do YOU get when you push the feed button? And why is it working on yours and not either of my machines?
    Today, my Mac (w/Safari 4) gets the same error message: Safari can’t open the page Safari can’t open the page “feed:http://vibrationalvoyages/vibrationalvoyages.com/DivineLight_Vibrations_Principles_andApplications/rss.xml”. The error is: “The feed could not be loaded because the content is not in a known feed format.”
    My little ASUS (with a Linux operating system) gets a screen that says "The requested URL was not found". The URL on that page is http://vibrationalvoyages./vibrationalvoyages.com/DivineLight_Vibrations_Principles_andApplications/rss.xml
    On both error messages, the URL I was checking was:
    http://www.vibrationalvoyages.com/DivineLight_Vibrations_Principles_and_Applications/Divine_Light_Vibrations_Principles_ andApplications.html
    The last URL was, of course, the URL generated by iWeb.
    So, my question still is:
    HOW CAN I GET MY FEEDS TO WORK PROPERLY? If the problem is there shouldn't be an http:// after feed: then, how do I get iWeb to set it up properly?
    Any ideas?

  • 404 error when publishing to FTP server.

    I'm getting the 404 error when publishing my iWeb site to my FTP server.  Please help.
    It says I have a good connection and publishes but then I get the error when I "Click to go to the site."  I've read where I have to upload the file to my server but with the file index_html.  Do I rename my iWeb file, domain, to index_html?

    I'm getting the 404 error when publishing my iWeb site to my FTP server.  Please help.
    It says I have a good connection and publishes but then I get the error when I "Click to go to the site."
    A 404 errors means the file is not on the server.
    Checking the connection is just testing the FTP connection.
    I've read where I have to upload the file to my server but with the file index_html.  Do I rename my iWeb file, domain, to index_html?
    Do I rename my iWeb file, domain, to index_html?
    No, you don't. The domain file is where iWeb  stores its assets. It stays on your computer. It has no meaning outside it. iWeb publishes the index.html file and all the other files.
    Read this : The concept of iWeb Sites
    So if your pages do not load, check for their presence on the server.

  • Photo Albums & Photos Disappear when publishing using ftp

    Hi,
    I am having trouble with both my iweb sites photos. There is two main problems:
    1. An album that appears normally in iweb is not visable on the published site
    2. An album will have random photos that are missing and replaced with a blank on the published site
    Some things I have tried:
    - I publish via ftp, so I tried publishing to a local folder - The albums and photos work normally
    - I tried republishing with a 3rd party cyperduck - same problem
    - I thought maybe it was therefore a ftp problem. So I logged in to my hostings file manager and check if the files are actually on the server -  but they are..
    - I tried republishing the entire site - same problem
    An example can be seen on the following - the third album is completely missing and if you go into the other albums, there will be random gaps where other photos are missing.
    http://www.gippmed.com/My_Albums/My_Albums.html
    Similar problem on this site, on the USA album, there is two photos missing towards the bottom:
    http://www.lukecainshooting.com/Luke_Cain/Photo_Gallery/Pages/USA.html
    Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

    Hi Cyclosaurus,
    Thank you for your reply. Sorry to bug you again but can I ask some further questions? Pls excuse my lack of knowledge on these things.
    In relation to your points:
    1) In the ftp publishing settings, public_html is acutal in where it says "site name", where it says "URL" I have http://www.gippmed.com. I was advised to put public_html in "site name" from my hosting. If I put anything else it publishes the entire site to a folder with that name on the server and is not viewable online?
    2) I have removed the spaces in the album page name and will reupload soon. In relation to the image file names, am I correct in saying that iweb is naming them from the captions? Do you really have to use one word captions or use underscores, it looks a little odd? I have read troubleshooting articles about iweb and spaces and it also recommends similar as you are, suggesting that all page names should have underscore instead of spaces. Problem is, if for example I change the page name "About Me" to "About_Me" iweb automatically changes it in the navigation menu and this looks silly to have undescores in the Nav Menu. Is there a way around this?
    Lastly, a new problem that I have never had before:
    Previously, iweb would remember what I had published and only publish new site changes. Now, every time I turn my computer off and on, I open iweb and it doesn't recognise any of the previous publishing, ie it republishes the entire site.
    Thank you again for your help

  • Display text in navigation bar when user is logged in

    Hi all,
    I'm (still ) on Apex 4.2.6.
    Currently, I have in my page templates, the following snippet:
          <div class="logoBar">
              <img src="#IMAGE_PREFIX#themes/theme_125/images/logo_.png" />
              <h1><a href="#HOME_LINK#" id="uLogo">#LOGO#</a></h1>
            <div class="userBlock">
              <span>Username: &APP_USER.</span>
              #NAVIGATION_BAR#
            </div>
          </div>
    I have the requirement to display both the username (APP_USER) and the company the user works for (Application item AI_COMPANY), only when the user is logged in. When the user isn't logged in; instead of those items, I have to show a login link. Well, I know how to only show a link to the login page, when the user isn't authenticated, using the navigation bar. Currently, when a user isn't authenticated; the page shows: Username: nobody. That's because it is in my page template. How can I only show the username when the user is logged in? And show the company name only then?
    My first thought was to add an item in the navigation bar. But those items shows up as links. Is there a way to add a navigation bar item, and let it display as text? Sure, I could write a dynamic action on page 0 to remove the link, but I'm searching for a nicer/better sollution.
    I apreciate your help!

    Hi tomvdduin,
    you can show company name which is already in your Application item(AI_COMPANY)  by modifying the page template mentioned above.
    <div class="logoBar">
      <img src="#IMAGE_PREFIX#themes/theme_125/images/logo_.png" />
        <h1><a href="#HOME_LINK#" id="uLogo">#LOGO#</a></h1>
      <div class="userBlock">
        <span>Username: &APP_USER.(&AI_COMPANY.)</span>
        #NAVIGATION_BAR#
      </div>
    </div>
    I have included company inside ( ), you can change how you want to show.
    for example
    <span>Username: &APP_USER.</span><span>Company: &APP_COMPANY.</span>
    Hope this helps you,
    Regards,
    Jitendra

  • Reduce logo in navigation bar when scroll down

    Hi, I wanted to have my logo on the navigation bar to reduce in size when I scroll down. How can this be achieved in Muse?

    Not sure, but you can always set it to disappear (Scroll effects or Opacity) and have a smaller version appear.

  • I Do not see my navigation bar when I publish bar...

    I have tried to figure this out on my own by reading older post, but it is still not showing up. Please help if you can. Thanks.
    www.lifeomil.com

    Have a look at the files in the root folder on your server to see if "feed.xml" exists.
    From the point of view of search engines (and PCs with java turned of) its better to hide the default navigation and build your own in a text box.....

  • IWeb tool not showing the Navigation Bar, but published site does!?!?!

    I recently installed Leopard, reinstalled iLife08 and copied over my website and was able to reopen in iWeb08. The issue I am having is that I can move/resize the area containing the navigation...I just cannot see the text inside iWeb!!!
    If I publish the site, the test is still there, visible and working...
    ..but inside iWeb I cannot read/alter (or even see) the navigation text. This will become an issue as I add new pages...it kinda defeats the purpose of a WYSIWYG editor
    I'm sure this is something silly...Does anyone have any ideas??
    Thanks!!

    Hi Sujai,
    not sure what you mean or are asking - everything was working in Chrome fine, and still does in browser preview in chrome and live in safari and IE.
    All assets are in Edge, packaged into a "OAM" which I then have placed in Muse and publish from there (again preview from Muse is working fine in Muse and also Preview in Browser/Chrome - I have tried on different machines as well just in case but it doesnt work on any mac or pc Chrome Broswer)
    Hosting is all through Adobe Business Catalyst.
    Allen
    SujaiS, ironically enough I just tried saving the Edge project as a new project, prublish the OAM files again (havent changed anything in the project), open Muse, re-published the site and now it is working in Chrome again!

  • Why do I see a blank unstyled navigation bar when presentation loads?

    For a brief moment when the presentation loads, this flashes on the screen.  Then it goes away and the presentation loads as normal.

    Not sure what your version of Captivate is, but what you're seeing are the graphics and Flash symbols for the Skin, including the TOC.  It's annoying and Adobe should have fixed this issue years ago, but it's still there last I looked.
    I recommend you log a bug report about it to add your voice to the others asking for change.

  • Published navigation bar doesn't work- any suggestions greatly appreciated

    As a recent purchaser of the software, I moved my whole blog to the site, impressed with its functionality and ease of use. To my dismay, the navigation bar when you visit the site on virtually every computer (especially PC’s) doesn’t seem to work. The first few pages are active but the last ones do not seem to have hyperlink activity- they do on some of the other pages but not from the landing site. Do you have any thoughts around how to rectify this? They are live in iWeb, but once I publish, they don’t work.
    My site is:
    http://web.mac.com/adamdiamond/iWeb/StinkyGrapefruit/Feed%20Me.html
    If you have any thoughts, I’d greatly appreciate them!
    Cheers,
    Adam

    OK, first off, this image:
    http://web.mac.com/adamdiamond/iWeb/StinkyGrapefruit/Feed%20Me_files/whisky.png
    is somehow in the way of your nav bar. Select it in iWeb, "Send to back," and republish. Remember to clear your cache in your browser before you visit the page again.
    2nd, PCs w/Internet Explorer aren't iWeb friendly, sometimes. Encourage your visitors to visit http://www.getfirefox.com

  • Table Navigation Bar disappears when blocksize equals maxValue

    (Env: JDev 903, uix 217)
    Why decides the uix TableBean to NOT render my navigation bar when blockSize equals maxValue? In JDev902 this worked differently (navBar indeed appeared when blockSize equalled maxValue).
    With the navBar not showing, the user is only able to see how many records the table contains by actually manually counting them of the screen.
    To clarify:
    Scenario: blockSize < maxValue
    1) user queries 20 records
    2) blockSize = 8, maxValue=20
    3) table shows 8 records, with navbar "1-8 of 20"
    4) user is happy
    Scenario: blockSize = maxValue
    1) user queries 20 records
    2) blockSize = 20 (for example set by a user pref), maxValue=20
    3) table shows 20 records, but NO navbar
    4) user is not happy

    Thanks for your reply.
    I can see their point.
    Unfortunately your suggestion to set maxValue to -1/null does not really render the desired result: I am getting a navNar with an enabled "next <n>" button, where <n> equals the blockSize. However there are no <n> next records (as I am already showing them on the screen).
    In my perfect world I would get a navbar with both the "previous" and "next" buttons disabled, and a poplist with one entry: "1-<n> of <n>".
    Might I suggest to add a "toggle NavBar on/of switch" to the Table bean in the next uix release? Does that make sense?
    Thanks,
    Martijn

  • IWeb SEO not updating navigation bar

    Hi All,
    I have been working on my first website via iWeb (3.0.4 v601) and have been able to work through most of the issues encountered. The main one was the site name repeated in the address, so I researched the iWeb SEO that fixed that. i.e.
    www.thealleybarn.com/welcome.html was showing as www.thealleybarn.com/The_Alley_Barn/Welcome.html
    Today I made some updates to my site, including removing  a couple of blank pages and renaming another one. When publishing the site via iWeb SEO it is not updating the navigation bar. I have cleared my cache and double checked it on my phone (which had not viewed the site before) but it did not fix the issue.
    My website is: www.thealleybarn.com
    The menu should read: Welcome / The House / Beaches / Renovation / Contact
    However currently it reads: Welcome / The House / Beaches / Renovation / Things to do (blank page I deleted) / Location (I had renamed this to "contact")
    When not uploading it via the iWeb SEO (using the iweb ftp option) it actually looks ok, but then it has the name duplication issue, i.e. http://www.thealleybarn.com/The_Alley_Barn/Welcome.html
    This suggest that the files have been uploaded correctly, but its just not showing the right navigation bar when doing it via iWeb SEO. The other pages I updated are working ok, its just the menu that is the old one and not new one.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Well yes, if you start using the iWeb ftp to upload your site after having used iWebSEO, then you will get your site name back again, because the iWeb ftp overrides what you have done with using iWebSEO - so once you use it you have to continue or iWeb itself will override.
    You do state that you are using iWeb 08 however and iWeb 08 does not have the ftp included - this only applies to iWeb 09.
    What you can try however is not uploading your site using iWebSEO.  Rather, publish your site from iWeb to a local folder and then open your site with iWebSEO and then add what you want to but then when you are ready to upload, use something like Cyberduck instead - this is a dedicated ftp client - there is this or Yummy ftp.  Don't use iWebSEO to upload and see if using Cyberduck instead makes a difference.  Again, to get rid of the site name problem, just upload the contents of your site folder and NOT the whole site folder itself.
