No netflix after Firefox upgrade

Hi people,
Yesterday I upgraded Firefox to 34.0.5 on my macbookpro 10.6.8. Plugins list silverlight 5.1.30514.0 as installed and enabled. Get info window shows 32 bit enabled.
When I go to Netflix the homepage loads but when I click on a movie it goes to black screen.
Thanks for any help,
Linda

The Netflix supervisor I spoke to today finally confirmed that it is a known condition. But he said Netflix can't contact Mozilla, only Microsoft since Silverlight is Microsoft's product (even though it seems to be a Firefox change at issue, not Silverlight breakage).
The suggestion from Netflix is to switch to an earlier (and less secure) version of Firefox, or change browsers entirely to MSIE or Chrome. Please someone on the Firefox dev team check into this so Firefox doesn't lose market share to other browsers over this.

  • Adobe Flash Upgrade will not install after Firefox upgrade to 3.6.7

I upgraded to Firefox 3.6.7. After the upgrade I got a message that I needed to upgrade Adobe Flash due to security vulnerabilities. The Flash upgrade will not install. It simply sits and never installs no matter how long I wait.

Thanks for your response. I have previously reviewed this. The only potential problem it seems to resolve is having 2 versions of Shockwave installed. I only have one. The only thing I can think of to do is just uninstall the one version and see if it will trigger an installation. When I go to the Flash install site, I agree to the terms and get the next screen that says download will start. I never get a message asking if it's ok to run or anything. No matter where I look for a download for Flash I wind up at the same place with the same problem. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
    Thanks

  • ITunes not working properly after Firefox upgrade. What is corrective measure?

iTunes "store" indicates error #42403. It does not load. However, radio does work. This seemed to happen after I upgraded Firefox.

    Here's an update:
    1. The fan problem had to do with WindowsXP (new installation and/or drivers). The fan would simply not obey the Battery Optimized Cooling Method, and would work at full throttle all the time. Since i could not pinpoint the problem, i decided to use Acronis True Image Corporate Workstation to create an exact copy of my old configuration and HD contents, re-installed that, and that resolved the fan problem.
    2. Concerning the new 80GB 5400rpm 16mb hard disk, well, it is very noisy compared to the original Fujitsu HD the laptop had. I decided to return it next day, and got a Hitachi Travelstar 80GN instead (80GB 4200 rpm 8mb) which is very quiet, just like the Fujitsu 40GB one.

  • I cannot print ebay shipping labels after Firefox upgrade

After the latest Firefox upgrade to 22.0, I can no longer print shipping labels from ebay or PayPal. For ebay, I can print the invoice and for PayPal I can print the total charge paper. However, no pop-up shows when I go to print the actual shipping labels.
I had not changed any settings after the Firefox upgrade. In addition, I can print labels from ebay and PayPal if I use internet explorer (I prefer not to use that).
I have been printing shipping labels from both sites for years on the same computer, with the same OS (Vista). So the problem HAS to be with the Firefox upgrade.
Anyone else encounter this problem & what would be the solution.

    Hello,
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
''When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.''
    Thank you.

  • Anyconnect VPN not working after Firefox upgrade - "Certificate import has failed"

    Hi All,
I am running anyconnect 3.0.5080 on ubuntu 11.10x86.  I had everything working using my company's enroll process but after a recent Firefox upgrade (12.0) I was no longer able to authenticate.  I have had this problem before and fixed it by re-enrolling.
This time when I try to re-enroll it accepts my CA challenge password and prompts me to close all browsers before continuing.  After ensuring that no browsers are running and clicking 'Accept' I am presented with the message "Certificate Enrollment - Certificate import has failed."
Can anyone help me with this?
    Thanks,
    Philip

    Hi Nick,
Did you try to import .der/.pse file? if yes, this is not the case for ECC6.
This is the procedure for ECC6:
    1) Log to Visual Administrator
    2) Go to Server -> Services -> Key Storage
    3) Select the TicketKeyStore view
    4) Export SAPLogonTicketKeypair-cert file (file extension should be crt)
    5) Import the crt file to the ECC6 system.
    Regards,
    Omri

  • DownloadHelper only works on youtube video downloads after FireFox upgrade to 32.0

Firefox upgraded today to 32.0. The add-on DownloadHelper is at 4.9.23. DownloadHelper has worked fine until today. Now it will not offer to download videos from any other sites besides YouTube.

    Hi silverdollar,
Thank you for your question, please also make sure to ask the addon developer this question. [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/downthemall/developers]
[https://bugs.downthemall.net/] is the bug section of their site as well you may want to check your preferences for the add on or try it in a new profile to make sure there is not issues with other extensions.

  • Aperture 2 won't run after Firefox upgrade

After allowing Firefox to upgrade a few days ago, I have been unable to get Aperture to work. It starts up, begins building previews, then unexpectedly quits after about 15 minutes.
Things I have tried: Disk Utility, reinstalling Aperture, reinstalling the OS, consistency check on library, starting up with Command-Option, Rebuild library database (quit unexpectedly after several hours)
I was able to start up by holding the shift key to skip generating previews. I suspect that gives some indication of what is wrong, but I don't know how to interpret it or what to do as a result.
Does anyone have any additional suggestions?

the only other upgrade was it insisted Flash needed to be upgraded, but it wouldn't let me install it. I finally downgraded to Firefox 3.5 to reinstall Flash.
I'm not sure if I understood what you were asking me to check. I started with previews off, then selected generate thumbnails with the option key. It didn't have a problem doing that. I then restarted with the previews on. This time it took more than twice as much time to quit unexpectedly.

  • After Firefox upgrades, I hear people talking when I go to one website only. This is the second time this has happened..

    This was my original problem--
Every time I go to the obituary page, I start hearing talking and then firefox freezes. Why? This has only started happening recently.
I can look at everything on this website without a problem until I go to the obit page. I cannot even get halfway down when I start hearing the talking and then Firefox stops responding. When I close it and reopen it, I can sometimes change the number of obits viewed per page from 10 to 25 and I can then see them. Today, it kept freezing, so I had to use Safari. This only happens on the obit page on this one web site. The web site is http://www.news-record.com/. I have no other problems with Firefox and really like it very much. I am wondering if this has starting happening since the last Firefox update. Right now I have version 3.6.24. Any help you might be able to provide will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Mary.
The only difference is I am not having the crashing. Just the sound. System details OSX 10.4.11 Firefox version 3.6.27

  • Cannot open pages after Firefox upgrade

I downloaded what I thought was the latest version of Firefox on the advice of one of your popup windows. As soon as I had installed it the first "Firefox" page advised that this was not the latest & gave another download tab. I did so & now have what I presume is the latest version which is VERY slow and will not open up sites typed into the URL bar.
If I type it into a word doc & then click the link or if I use the google search, then the page I want opens, but not if I type it directly into the bar. It is very frustrating. I have reverted to Explorer but have all my bookmarks etc in Firefox.
Can you please tell me how I can overcome this or, failing that, how I can transfer my Forefox bookmarks to Explorer or Chrome.

    Hi Kiredoryor,
I'd try starting Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit. You should look at the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting-extensions-themes Extensions and Themes troubleshooting guide ] and the [[Troubleshooting plugins]] article as well.
    Hopefully this helps!

You're welcome. I am marking this thread as '''solved'''.

  • Problem with netflix after upgrading to firefox 6

now that I have upgraded to firefox 6 I can't instant watch netflix anymore. please help I'd rather not have to use a different browser to do this.

    '''SOLUTION'''
The problem with Netflix streaming with the FireFox 6.0 version is that the Netflix service '''refuses '''version 6.0 because they are A) unwilling to license it '''''or''''' B) too lazy or stupid to add the new version to their User Agent acceptance scheme. C) under contract to MICROSOFT to use Silverlight and part of Silverlight's DRM is what Browser versions are acceptable and Microsoft is taking their sweet time updating Silverlight to push I.E. on people and if you have Beta 5 Silverlight forget that -------Until Netflix accepts Firefox 6.0 as a legitimate Netflix browser '''you may do what I have done to get Firefox 6.0 streaming at Netflix.'''
    1) Open Firefox 6.0 and enter "www.whatsmyua.com" without quotations in the address bar and highlight and copy your present User Agent string from the top of that page when you get there.
    2) Type "ABOUT:CONFIG" without quotations in the Firefox address bar and hit enter then answer the You might destroy the world question with Alright I'm ready.
    3) Right click on the background of the Config screen and then highlight to click on the "New String" choice... When the box comes up enter "general.useragent.override" without quotations and hit return
    4) When another box appears paste in your current User Agent string you copied in step 1) BEFORE hitting enter place your cursor on your paste and right arrow to the end of the line. EDIT/REPLACE "6.0" with "5.0.1" without the quotations. Enter your change and close out the Config page.
    5) Repeat step 1) to make sure the User Agent string is now spoofing your browser as version 5.0.1
    6) Go to Netflix and watch movies (Make sure Silverlight and the Firefox Java are on). If it was working before the upgrade, everything should now work again streaming Netflix with Firefox 6.0.
    7) Call Netflix and tell them Dave sent you to see if they're stupid or just lazy and to quit spreading the B.S. that Firefox 6.0 ain't workin when we know it's Netflix (1-866-636-3076)
