No network after 10.4.9 update

After update my home network became 10x slower. And today it doesn't work anymore. I've reinstall router settings and renewed all network settings on both,Mac and PC. No result. When I try to connect,it does pop up window with shared PC folder and icon in Finder, that's all. Than everything stuck with color ball forever.
I need to force to quit Finder and it doesn't want to relaunch, unless I restart MB.
No problems with wireless or ethernet Internet connection on Mac and PC.
Have now idea what to do...

David,
When you said that you had 'strange and unpredictable bluetooth issues'... do you mind me asking what they were? I seem to be having a problem when I try and link my cell phone to my PowerBook. The bluetooth starts acting weird and will not even recognize an Apple internal bluetooth module is even present within the PowerBook, my Apple will not go to sleep for more than a second, and my trackpad is behaving very erratically.
Does any of this sound familiar to you at all with your problems experienced???
In response to the terminal command that you listed to kill the bluetooth and remove the .plist file from the library, my PowerBook is not allowing me to do this, as after I type the 'sudo killall blued' command into terminal, I am receiving a response that is informing me that no bluetooth module is present within the laptop. The exact response is: 'no matching processes were found'.
Please let me know if you have an answer that may sort out my problem.
Thank you.
Regards,
Kieran
If you have problems in future, I found this worked for me when I had strange and unpredictable Bluetooth issues.
From terminal, type:
sudo killall blued
sudo rm -f /private/var/root/Library/Preferences/blued.plist
...and then immediately reboot.
This stops the Bluetooth daemon and removes the preferences. When the computer restarts it recreates the preferences. I had a persistent BT problem which this got rid of.

  • Can't connect ad-hoc network after IOS 8.2 update

    Hi,
This is my first post on Apple Discussion so please ignore grammatically and other mistakes if i made.
I am using iPhone 5S 32 GB factory unlocked and working very well in INDIAN network.  I use to connect ad-hoc network created on my Window 7 Desktop via Wifi Surf-n-share Belkin USB.  It is working very well and connected always until i updated IOS 8.2.
After IOS 8.2 updates, iphone couldn't connect ad-hoc network.
Is there any bug for this issue or security update.??
    Help would be really appreciated.
    Awaiting some good response.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi abidmomin,
Thanks for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.
It appears that after updating your iPhone to iOS 8.2, you're not able to connect to your Wi-Fi network.
I recommend starting with the tips in this article to troubleshoot the situation:

  • Any plans to fix wireless networking after the 40S51U Firmware Update 2.2.5 broke it?

After the 40S51U Firmware Update 2.2.5 wireless passwords must be re-entered every time the device is powered on. It's been almost 4 months since the untested patch was released – is a fix coming?

You're the only person I can remember having that issue. You should call customer support.

  • Unable to connect to wireless network after 10.4.8 update

    Hi Guys,
I use Macbook which I have just updated to 10.4.8. After doing the update I can no longer connect to my wireless network. On 1st boot Airport asked to update the keychain. I said yes.
Selecting my network, and entering the WPA key results in "Password for this network is incorrect" which is a load of rubbish as I can connect a PC Laptop to it perfectly. I have restarted the router, put in the key in caps and lower case, and still always the same error message.
Has anybody else experienced this? If so, does anyone know how to fix it?
    Thanks,
    Paul.

I just brought home a new Macbook with the 10.4.8
system software. I had to reconfigure my wireless
router to "open system" - it still required the WEP
key code, but when it was configured as an open
system instead of an automatic system it allowed the
    Mac to connect.
My other computers still work fine with the new
    router configuration.

    (10.0.x)
10.4.8 came with your new macbook? or did you update?
the only reason i ask is this was a question from a day or two ago, people were wondering if it were abnormal that new macbooks were still shipping with 10.4.6 even though 10.4.7 was out, and some predicted that once it went to 10.4.8 the shipping software would be updated to the new update

  • Won't automatically connect to Airport network after 10.4.8 update

After updating my Mac Mini CoreDuo from 10.4.7 to 10.4.8, it will no longer automatically connect to our Airport Express based Wi-Fi network. Even though the Network settings in System Preferences have not changed, and they do list it as the preferred network, it still will not automatically connect after log in.
Does anyone have this issue, and know of a solution?
(aside from the workaround of manually connecting after log in, and after waking the computer from sleep).
Background: My setup is to join preferred networks by default, the network name continues to be the one listed, the network still continues to show up in the Airport network list in the upper right corner of the screen. In essence, the Mac sees it is there but just won't connect to it. We have two other Macs in the household, both are PowerPC based, and both were updated to 10.4.8, and they have no issues. They continue to automatically connect to the Wi-Fi network we have. This seems to be with our Intel Mac only.
Mac Mini CoreDuo   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   Mac OS X 10.4.8

This all happens most likely due to a corrupted key chain (entry).
For instance, if you choose to keep your local Airport password stored in your personal key chain it needs to be accessible by the private Apple Airport Framework used by the network preferences. If this by any means, is not possible - the automatic login into you Airport WiFi network cannot take place.
All you have to do to get this fixed is:
    1) Launch your Keychain Access Application located at: /Applications/Utilities
    2) Open the Keychain First Aid (under the Main Menu: Keychain Access)
    3) Set the Radio Button to Repair and enter your Keychain Password (most likely your personal password)
    4) Start.....
Now after your personal keychain (name=username) is repaired it might be listed double in your Keychain List Window (it depends how you've setup the keychain). If so, NEVER DELETE ONE OF THIS ENTRIES because that's obviously a cosmetic bug in the Keychain Access Application but not harmful. Just look in your local Preferences Folder, locate the file "com.apple.keychainaccess.plist" and thrash it. Re-launch the Keychain Access Application and there is only one again.
    Restart your Mac and........
After all I think anything should be back up to how it supposed to be. :-))

  • EDGE switching to 0 network after 3.0.1 update???

I installed the 3.0.1 update today. Immediately, I noticed that the EDGE signal was going to the O signal a coupla times. I live in Dallas...surely this city has at least EDGE coverage? I never noticed any O indicator before installing the 3.0.1 update.
Anyone else experiencing going from EDGE to O after the 3.0.1 update? Incidentally, I keep the 3GS on EDGE because of battery concerns and also, voices seem to be louder on EDGE (albeit, a little distorted). Voices sound softer to me on 3GS.

It has nothing to do with 3.0.1, which was a minor change to the SMS app. You probably have corrupted data in the backup that was restored when you did the update. Thus, going back to 3.0 won't fix it. You need to fix it in 3.0.1. Try first forgetting your network in WiFi settings for it. Then reboot and try to connect again. If that doesn't fix the problem then do a Restore in iTunes and choose to set up as a new phone. Test before adding back any apps or email accounts.

  • Airport won't renew DHCP on Wireless Networks (After 10.5.6 update?)

I have tested my macbook on two wireless networks (1 belkin, 1 linksys) and it connects fine to the router, but it won't assign a DHCP. When I connect it directly to the router via ethernet or to the cable modem then the internet works fine.
When I connect to a wireless network, I tried going to pref>network>advanced>tcp/ip and selecting "DHCP" and hitting renew. But it doesn't work and automatically kicks back to "DHCP with Manual IP". I have tried assigning it an IP manually on the network, 192.168.5.3 and subnet mask and all that. But that doesn't work either.
I've done power cycles on both my macbook and router. I always keep the firmwares on both routers up-to-date.
I recently updated my Leopard to 10.5.6, which apparently has an Airport update, maybe that's affecting it?

ive found that the firmwire updates screw things up. "if it aint' broke dont fix it"
_i had all kind of trouble with my airport/network settings not saving come to find out i was correct that the airport card.

  • 10.6.8 Unable to log into the network after update

    07-31-2011
    Server: 10.6.8
    Client 10.6.8
Just installed the latest updates for my snow leopard server and it will not accept my network login. I have quadruple checked the credentials and then some but it appears to accept the username and pass, displays the user avatar and then the dialogue box shakes displaying the error message:
"Logging into the account failed because an error ocurred"
It's not a very descriptive message but I checked online for some help but couldn't find much. This issue specifically happened after the latest server updates. I know I could use time machine and fix it, I fixed it before that way, but I would like to find a resolution for this issue if there is one.
Any help would be much appreciated.

After contacting Apple support I was told to rebind the machine to the server which did work initially. I was able to log in with my network login but when i shut down the machine later and tried to boot up and log back in, i was presented with the same error.
I attempted the same resolution and rebinded the machine but this time it didn't work. I tried multiple times but have had no success.

        csdwarf,
So sorry to hear about the trouble with Wi-Fi! Let's get that working the way it should. Could you provide us some more details regarding where this breakdown occurs? Are you having trouble with turning Wi-Fi on or connecting to your Wi-Fi? Are other devices connecting to your Wi-Fi without issue?

unable to connect Wi-Fi network after ISO 6 update. I'm not impressed.

I updated to ISO 6 on my Daughters Iphone 4S, my Iphone 4, and I have now received my new Iphone 5 yesterday and now all 3 of them have wi-fi issues. I know its not my wi-fi because My Daughters Ipad 2 and my Wife's Iphone 4 is still on 5.11 and the wi-fi works fine. I cant understand why apple have not been saying what's going on and when they will fix it. I have tried everyone's suggestions on this forum and the Internet. Still no luck.
