No network connection for S4

I've had no network connection with my S4 all day. No 3g or 4g or anything! I've already powered off/on, powered off then took out/replaced SIM card and powered back on. I've checked my network connections in settings. I don't know what else to do... frustrated.

Have you called Customer Service to see if there are network issues in your area?

  • Accept/Deny incoming network connection for apps already accepted/denied

i am constantly getting the dialog box to allow/deny incoming network connections for applications that i launch on my MBPro, even though these programs have already been allowed or denied. this causes multiple entries for the same applications in my firewall advanced list. each time i accept or deny, a new entry of the same program is added to the list. as an example, for Excel i have 5 entries - 2 that allow incoming connections, 3 that deny. the same goes for apps like itunes, word, nleac, and others.
if i delete these extra entries, they just get added to the next time i launch the program.
i've tried the remedy suggested by the macfixit forum (http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-10330466-263.html) of deleting the firewall preference file "com.apple.alf.plist" and performing a disk permission under Safe Mode - didnt help.
looking for new suggestions. incidently, this wasnt always the case and other than upgrading to snow leopard, i cant specifically recall a change that started this problem.

i've been doing that for some time now, as this problem has been going on for months. even after i delete all of the programs that have multiple listings (and the key word there is ALL because basically every program that wants access has multiple listings here) the list gets re-populated the next/every time i launch that application. even if i later deny an application's request after accepting previously, they'll be multiple listings for that app - including listings to Allow and listings to Deny - for the the same app!!!

  • DHCP Failover, one DHCP Server Partners Supnet is deactivated, Clients losing network connectivity for 3 sec. after renewing they IP Adress

    Hello,
currently we are using two W2K12R2 DHCP server configured in "load balance Mode". On DHCP1 the IP-scope with failover partnership to DHCP2 is deactivated. DHCP2 is working fine. Now we register that 50 percent of our clients (W2K8R2 application
server) losing the network connectivity for 3 sec. after rereleasing they IP-Address. On DHCP2 servers eventlog we receive a lot of
BINDING ACK reject events 20291 and 20292 for these IP addresses entries.
These 3 sec. of loosing they Network connectivity is our big Problem because the Client application (W2K8R2 application server) cannot handle these timeout. It looks like a
DISCOVER-OFFER-REQUEST-NAK cycle that are described here:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/teamdhcp/archive/2014/02/26/dhcp-failover-patch-to-address-a-reservation-issue-and-another-issue-related-to-failover-partner-not-accepting-state-transition-from-bad-address-gt-active-has-been-released.aspx#pi47623=2
there is a solution to prevent the 3 sec network failure?
    Rgds

    Hi Steffen,
Have you applied KB2919355 in the server?
If issue persists, please check the detailed information about the event. It will tell us why does the server send the NAK.
    Best Regards.

  • How to disable network connections for an application

    Hi to all,
I would like to know if there is any way a user can disable network connections for a specific application.
    Thank you,
    Xwang

Yes, but I would like to block only a specific application, not all the traffic from the PC.
I've found this "solution" which uses iptables on the net:
"Add a group to your system (I use nonet myself), then add a rule to your output chain like this: -A OUTPUT -m owner --gid-owner nonet -j REJECT --reject-with icmp-net-unreachable Run the program for which you know in advance that you want to block, with sg (sg nonet "your_prog your_args")."
Do you think is it right?
Another suggestion was to use unshare to call the program disabling the net for that program only.
The problem is that unshare is runnable only by root so, in case, I should turn on its setuid flag in order to execute the program as a normal user, but I don't know if it is safe to do that.

  • Keeps asking to accept incoming network connections for iTunes

Why does OS X keep asking if I want the new iTunes to accept incoming network connections on every iTunes launch?
    1. It appears in the firewall, and is green lighted to accept incoming network connections.
    2. I have the checkbox to automatically allow signed software to accept connections.
    3. I have repaired permissions.
    4. I have re-downloaded and reinstalled the application.
    5. I am running the latest version of OS X with all updates installed.
    This should not be happening.

I constanstly get the exact same nag message about allowing incomming connections, plus now iTunes just pops up all by itself, and I simply do not ever let anyone inside my firewall, period, including Apple, so they can spy on my info or software. The snooping scanel of the last couple of days has only underlined my decisions.
I have denied them access in security/advanced.  I have turned off connect to apple for for song info. No Ping.
I do however run DLNA across my wifi network using BubbleUp client so I can access my iTunes library via TiVo throughout the house, and have for the last year with no issues.
(During this message, itunes has launched, nagged and started playing music all by itself 3 times!)
I tried a terminal command from another thread http://nerdramblings.tumblr.com/post/5637291886/fix-apple-firewall-asking-for-pe rmissions, which should have given me

I have version of itunes 11.0.2 running in Snow Lep 10.6.8. and I run my iMac via wifi rather then ethernet, and have for 3 years.  This is all new in the last 3 weeks.  I'm happy with the version I have, with no interest in uninstall/reinstall or screwing around with the newest versions, which I really hate.
I'm ok poking around in Terminal if that's the answer. otherwise, I'm off to WinAmp or DoubleTwist, though I'm open to other suggestions as well.
Please excuse my angry tone, but I've had nothing but problems with this machine since I bought it, it's been to the shop once and reformmatted from scratch twice, and regard it as the second worst decision of my life.  The worst one was my first marriage

  • Z1c Losing Network Connection for no Apparent Reason

Hi there, recently I noticed that after longer calls (ca 15+ minutes) my Z1c loses network connection ("No Signal" notification & empty triangle icon instead of signal bars) right after the call has been ended. I tried to turn on and off the airplane mode or to manually select the proper cellular network but these did not bring the signal back. The only thing that helps is restarting the phone (then I get full-strength signal). Just to be clear, I am not referring to a loss of mobile data connection as experienced by some users. What I see is a total loss of mobile network signal. In other words, when this occurs my phone is unreachable (people are not able to call or text me). In the Settings I have "WCDMA (preferred)/GSM". Changing this to "GSM only" is not an option for me because the 2G signal is quite weak and spotty in my area. Using "LTE (preferred)/..." is not an option either due to the lack of LTE coverage. (What can I say -- rural area... :/ ) Additionally, I have enabled the Stamina mode but I doubt this can be the culprit because the problem appeared also when I turned Stamina mode off for a day or so. I should also mention that I use A5.0 Lollipop; however, the problem started appearing only a couple of days ago (I never noticed any such issue with A4.4). Any help would be much appreciated. nvx

I suggest that you try to repair the phone software using PC Companion..
Before repairing your device you may want to backup your information first. Check out this topic for more information on how to.
    How to backup?
If the issue should still remain I think that this needs to be examined and fixed at a repair center. For more information about how to submit your phone for repair and where, contact your local support team.

  • Configuring network connectivity for VM's on Hyper-V 2012 R2 Server

    Hi,
We have installed Hyper-V server 2012 R2 on a server and trying to configure 10 VM's.
on the host machine we have 4 ethernet adpaters available ,for now we have enabled only one.
    Questions :
1)Can we use only one adapter and configure all the VM's ?
-- if we use only one adapter for connecting all the VM's will there be any performance or connectivity issues ?
    2) Do we need to configure virtual switches ?
Note :Users will access VM's using VPN connectivity .
What is the recommended one .Please suggest
    Thanks

    Thanks Bill for your replies.
Everything is working fine now. all the VM's are getting the IP addresses.
The "Allow management operating system to share this network adapter" was unchecked. We checked that and restarted the hyper-v server.
By default it is checked ,accidentally it might have been unchecked.
    Everything is working fine now.
    Thanks again for your inputs.

  • Mac keeps asking "Accept incoming network connections" for java

i am having the above problem for a while now, its often so irritating, it comes out like a pop up so fast to respond, maybe some one can tell me what to do to solve this problem, its really giving me something to think about; i tried blocking it from incoming connections, but it did not solve it.

I thought shutting off the firewall would make the computer vulnerable
That is a common misconception.  See Do I need a firewall?

Everything runs smoothly except for several Android Apps dwnloaded from Snap or Onemobile.  They work perfectly fine over WiFi but not at all over Data.  Does anyone know why or if there is a solution? It's pretty frustrating.
Examples include, NetFlix, MyFitnesspal, Amazon Price Check Urbanspoon, etc.
    Thanks for any replies.

you can hard restart you device. and try again

  • Hi there can anyone help. I am connected to the internet by ethernet but my connection keeps timing out and my network diagnostics shows all green and network connection ok but still no internet connection. the other wireless laptop in my flat works well.

Hi there can anyone help. I am connected to the Internet by Ethernet but my connection keeps timing out and my network diagnostics shows all green and network connection ok but still no Internet connection. the other wireless laptop in my flat works well. Could the other wireless laptops being used in my flat be affecting my connection. what can I do to get connected, keep connected. Thanks for any ideas out there.

My network connected for a few hours then went back to timing out. I have not changed anything. However there four additional laptop users in my family who do not seem to be having any problems using their wireless connection. Could their film and music downloads be causing the timing out of my connection and if so is there a way I could prioritizes my computer or limit their use?

  • Compatibility w Network connect

I use Safari and Network Connect for my VPN connection for my work at NASA, but recently I cant get the application to launch properly....I suspect it has something to do with the recent Safari upgrade to 6.0.3 and/or a Java upgrade....can anyone help? how do I set up proper configuration or loading....(btw Network Connect works properly when I use firefox. ;-(

No crazy file names. Basic OS install, and drive names are single words with no symbols.
Update on testing: Even though I didn't want to, I did a fresh install of the OS and started loading my extras one by one to see where the problem started occurring.
I was able to connect after a fresh install, so it wasn't the Momentus 500 GB 7200 rpm drive, which was my first assumption, based on all the bad info online about that drive. Next I installed the iSCSI initiator (for SAN connection) and still was able to connect. Then I installed FibreJet SAN software (which includes HASP drivers for the dongle) and configured the network location in System Prefs to connect to the SAN. (Current configuration is LAN going in through built-in ethernet port, SAN going in through expresscard/34 ethernet adapter.) After installing FibreJet and plugging in the expresscard, couldn't connect to volumes.
So I'm wondering one of two things:
    1. Is the expresscard having some kind of communication problem with the network? (The iSCSI bridge is separate from the LAN, but I noticed that I still have volume connectivity through that switch - could there be a conflict when trying to connect to volumes on individual computers?) I've been doing this successfully for 2 years now, but using USB ethernet adapters at 100Mb/s connection over the LAN. This week is the first time I started using the scpresscard ethernet adapters, so I'm doing some troubleshooting today.
First thing today I setup new network locations in Sys Prefs, and I was able to connect to one of the computers over the LAN. (I took the SAN connection out.) I'm making sure all OS updates are identical, and then I will add the HASP drivers without the iSCSI initiator and see if they are the cause. If not, I'll add back the initiator, but not the expresscard, and lastly, add the expresscard back into the equation. Those are the only elements that are different.
    I'll report back with results.
    Thanks for the response.

  • T520 problem with Wireless Network Connection Adaptors

I was in Windows 7 Device Manager's Network Connections trying to fix a minor WIFI problem by uninstalling the drivers and then scanning for hardware changes to reinstall them. I uninstalled a driver that the scan didn't pick up to reinstall, and I didn't write down its name. Now the WIFI does not work at all. I've updated the two drivers left in Network Adapters:
Intel 82579LM Gigabit  Network Connection for my ethernet
Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 AGN for my WIFI
Does anyone know the name of the wireless driver I uninstalled? Does the 520 require two wireless network adaptor drivers? Can't seem to find info on it anywhere!
    What I've done:
I ran Intel's PROSet/Wireless WiFi Connection Utility diagnostic tools. The hardware test fails saying "Wireles Hardware is not boudn to transport driver". The Driver Test passed saying "Driver is loaded. Netwsw00 Version: 15.4.1.1. The Radio Test failed saying "Failure geting network radio status!". After that the Scant Test, Asociation Test, Authentificaiton Test, Siganl Test and Ping Test all failed.
Installed every 64 bit LAN wireless network adaptor driver I could find in the T520 section of Lenovo's site
Any assistance appreciated. I'm a bit of a noob.

Try scan for new devices in Device manager otherwise you likely have to reinstall the package again.

  • Bridged network connected to wrong eth

    Hi all,
I have an Oracle VM server and Oracle VM Manager with network connectivity but am having trouble getting network connectivity for the guest virtual machines.
On my Oracle VM Server, I have networking going through eth0 - the VM server created a bonded interface bond0 that connects to the active eth0.  When I created a virtual machine network in the Oracle VM Manager, I was only given the option of choosing ports eth1, eth3 and eth4 in the "Select Ports to include in your network" so I picked eth1.  This resulted in created a bridged network that uses port eth1.  The problem is that I currently do not have internet connectivity on port eth1.
    The question I have is:
    1) Do I need to have at a minimum of 2 NICs on the Oracle VM Server?  One for the server management  and the other for virtual machines?
    2) Why does eth0 not show up as an option when selecting ports for the VM network?
    Appreciate any insight on this!!!
    Thanks,
    Nick

    Hi,
To design your network architecture, dont forget to take care about:
    - Fault tolerance
    - Performance
    - Security/Isolation
With Oracle VM Manager you can work with a minimum 1 NIC (all networks on the same interface) but this's not secure.
    - if you have two NICs, you can create a network (Virtual Machine) and the second NIC to the other Network (more secure). and if you have a VLAN switch you can add the second NIC to the bond0, and create 5 logical networks (more secure & fault tolerance).
I hope this can help you
    Best Regards
