No networks are detected

I just got my imac back after it having to have its logic board replaced, and I've set it up.
Before the mac showed a list of wireless networks including my own, but now there are no wireless networks showing up. Right now I'm typing on a wireless windows-laptop right next to the iMac and its signal is 36mbps.
I've tried to add the wireless network manually by entering the network name and password but it didnt work.
Any ideas?

I just bought an ipad 2 and at home in Paris (France) it worked fine. That means that it detects all the surrounding WIFI networks and connect perfectly on my personal home network.
I am now in Torino (Italy) and the ipad searches wifi networks and do not find any. My iphone and my Galaxy Ace (Samsung phone) instead find all existing networks and are able to connect to the one for which I have the password.
What to do ?

If I could I would do but the wifi on which I want to connect is the Torino University Network and I cannot update its "firmware".
Also this does not explain why NO NETWORKS are detected while 10 are detected by my mobile phones.
It seems from the forum that the simplest action recommanded was to shut off the pad and then light it on again. I have done that without results.
What is the next simple action that I can do ? Go to an APPLE STORE ?

104 Unsupported Wireless Network Device Detected

Opening up the computer this morning i have a message that says: 104-Unsupported wireless network device detected. System halted. Remove device and restart.
There are no additional devices added or changed before putting laptop in hibernation for the night last night. Odd. Any suggestions?

In case you are comfortable reseat the Wireless card from the back panel also try to visit HP website and update the Bios for your unit and see if this fixes your issue.

"Network Change Detected" - repeats

This has been happening for roughly the past two weeks. As far as I know, I have done nothing to change my Network configuration.
Situation: Powerbook G4, running 10.4.11 -- online via my wireless connection at home. At a seemingly-random point either a web page won't load (Safari tells me I am not connected to the Internet), or my email tells me it is having problems getting to the server. However, the 'bars' in my menubar show that I am still logged onto my home network and I still have a connection and a strong-enough signal. My husband is still online on his notebook and my iPhone is showing that it's online on the wireless connection.
Safari offers to run Network Diagnostics: I do that, and it comes to a point where it says: "Network Change Detected: Your network configuration has changed. Click OK to proceed to the next step."
When I do that, and Continue (without changing the options that the dialog is showing me); it completes and tells me my connection is fine, which it then is. After that I can go online, retrieve/send email, etc. ... until the next time (sometimes a day, sometimes a few hours).
What is the "Network Change" that Network Diagnostics has detected? I have not done anything to change my Network. In fact, I have my Preferences 'locked' (ever since that problem with the 'looping' by the Network preferences, several months back).
Since I now know how to get things back working it's only a bother. But I am left wondering if there is something more dire that this signals. Any ideas?
(The router is a Belkin; the connection is Comcast cable modem. These have not changed.)

DNS Servers are a bit like Phone books where you look up a name and it gives you the phone number, in our case, you put in apple.com and it comes back with 17.149.160.49 behind the scenes.
These Servers have been patched to guard against DNS poisoning, and are faster/more reliable than most ISP's DNS Servers.

I'm still having this problem. Whenever I turn my Leopard running iMac on, as soon as the Desktop loads a message pops up saying:
"None of your preferred networks are available"
The SSID name of my home WiFi network is visible in the list of available networks, but when I try to join it I get the message:
"Connecting to network"
and then
"Connection timeout"
This problem isn't exclusive to my Tiger upgraded to Leopard iMac. It's exactly the same on a brand new late 2007 MacBook with Leopard pre-installed!
WiFi used to work flawlessly with Tiger. But with Leopard it's very unreliable to the point of being unusable. When are Apple going to sort it out? Nothing has changed with my Netgear DG834PN Router. It's setup exactly the same way it was with Tiger.
Any help would be appreciated.

You're not alone. I have the same problem, and literally tons of other people do too. After running my search on apple discussions for "preferred networks" (my results url is: http://discussions.apple.com/search.jspa?forumID=599&threadID=&q=preferrednetworkproblem&objID=c235&dateRange=all&userID=&numResults=30&rankBy=10001 ) and finding 236 responses, it seems patently clear that the problem is a bug in Leopard.

Can't make or receive calls or texts in extended network area.

I have been unable to make or receive calls in the extended network area since arriving here 3 weeks ago. Using a Droid Bionic. Spent an hour with tech support to no avail. purchased a warranted used phone and moved sim card to it. Still no luck. Drove a hundred miles to a verizon service area yesterday and the phone worked fine from there.
I live in zip code 79834 for 3 months every year and this is the first time I've experienced this problem. I use a Wilson booster in 79834 and get 4 bars. No booster needed for strong extended network signal in nearby 79852 but no luck there either.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you are using a Bionic or any other 4G phone, you do not dial *228 to update your Preferred Roaming List ... that is handled automatically by the phone's SIM card. To force an update, you can turn off the phone, remove the SIM card, wait a few minutes, then replace the SIM card, turn the phone back on, and allow a few minutes for it to re-establish a connection.

"NETWORK CHANGE DETECTED" - Broadband dropping out

About 4 to 5 weeks ago I started finding my broadband connection would just 'drop out'.
I'd lose it. No email or internet browsing, nothing.
It might come back on it's own, it might not.
Generally I'd run diagnoistic's, and some time sit would come back immediately, some times I'd have to run it a few times
Sometimes I'd give up and walk away.
Often I get the message "NETWORK CHANGE DETECTED", and the connection would re-establish itself.
It may run for minutes, and I'd be back at square one, or it could run OK for days.
All extremely frustrating.
I've read past posts and see that this problem has come up before, but I cannot find a "do this to fix it" resposnse.
Seeing that it's happened to others, I'm hoping it's something Apple can advise on.
Does anyone know why this happens and how to fix it. I'm really at my wits end.
I've been in contact with my internet provider who give me the usual answers.

I am in Australia
with TPG on ADSL2+
I have a netcomm NB14WN wireless router
mac version 10.6.7 then updated to 10.6.8 - hasnt made any difference.
since I joined with TPG I have also had at first very slow and unreliable speeds (worse than dial up) and several nights a week it would repeatedly disconnect and the network change detected.
So since numerous discussions with tpg and several 'rebooting' everything they had a level 2 engineeer check and update the servers and now with the ethernet cable it is stable and fast ( same bandwidth and speed test every time). What I still have at this stage is an unreliable wireless connection and we have checked for interference in the house etc and now they have finally sent me a replacement modem to see if that makes a difference (should pick it up tomorrow). The problem is that some days the wireless is fine and somedays it isn't. It played up again two hours ago - put on the ethernet cable and it was fine, took the cable off a couple of hours ago and the wireless is fine at present whilst I am typing this......So will let you know how the other wireless router goes - apparently they check this one before they send it out but this one is from Netcomm also - I wonder if it is that - my dad and I looked it up on the net and it only sells for $100AUS which is pretty cheap - when I touch it underneath it is also very hot.

Then start the old machine in Target Mode (i.e. by holding down the T key on its keyboard, while it's starting up, until you see the three-legged T icon hopping around the screen of the old machine.)
At that point you will also see a new icon on the screen of your new iMac. This is the hard drive of your old machine. By clicking on it you can navigate through it any way you like, just as you would normally.
Just drag across whatever you want from the old computer to the new one. This will leave everything on the old computer untouched.
- or use Migration Assistant but in my experience, Migration Assistant isn't very reliable and fails to migrate large amounts of stuff.

I can't think of many purchases these days that would be more exciting than a new tablet, especially were I to be going on a much anticipated vacation like you did. I can only imagine your disappointment when the tablet developed unsolvable problems at the very beginning of your trip.
We do our best to ensure that our customers are aware of our Return & Exchange Promise by publishing it in our stores, on our receipts, and on our website. With that said, I'd like to see what options may exist for you in consultation with your local store. At what store location did you attempt to make your return? Do you recall the name of the manager to whom you spoke?
In addition, I recommend that you contact Microsoft about your Surface Pro 3. As the manufacturer of the product, they should be able to present options for service under the factory warranty.

Unsupported wireless network device detected

Hi guys,
I had to change the motherboard of my DV9420US; I bought a new motherboard from Megabyte Trading, the part number was the same (444002-001) and they told me it was an HP piece. However, after the technician replaced it, the following error appears when booting and forces me to shut down:
"104-unsupported wireless network device detected. System halted. remove device and restart".
Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem?
It starts to be disappointing: I have already spent over 400 bucks to repair the original motherboard first and buy a new one after, with the result that my laptop does not work yet.

Remove the wireless card and boot into the notebook. Once into windows you will have to hardwire the notebook into an internet connection and go to HP.com. Place your PN number in the search and go to the software and driver downloads find the BIOS header and download the most update BIOS and flash the BIOS for the notebook. Once this has completed replace the WLAN and boot it back up, should fix the issue.
