No new free song today?

Is it my imagination, or are this week's free songs the same as last week's free songs?

Your right, they are last weeks songs. I wonder why they are not putting up the new ones. Also, I noticed on http://www.apple.com/startpage/ it says next free single is 12/13. It seems they sould have changed that by the 14th.

So it appears iCloud/iTunes Match isn't the issue - the error message would seem to be complaining about where the music is being downloaded to. So with this in mind:
In iTunes select Preferences and select Advanced. The iTunes media folder should be set to /Users/<your account>/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music. <your account> would be whatever your user account is. If you see something else there I'd guessing it is a folder you don't have permission to write to.

Free Songs - Return on Investment for Apple and artists

This is an open plea to iTunes, Apple, and the artists who post free tunes on iTunes. The trend for the last several months has been to offer only one song each week as a free download. This is an incredible shame!! When there were three or four songs each week, I was very likely to discover new music, buy new albums, and attend shows for these bands. It's just a matter of numbers—if there are more songs to preview, I’m more likely to find one that inspires me to support the musicians. I'd like to think it works that way for everyone else too.
Case in point--back when there were multiple free songs each week, I frequently found a free song that I enjoyed so much that I purchased the album:

During that time, I also attended nine different concerts featuring the artists above. Since the number of songs was dropped to one, I rarely find music that inspires me. So what’dya say? Can we up the free tunes a bit? Please??

Concerts are almost always a loss for the artist and the label, unless you are one of the top acts.

When in the ITunes Store to redeem a free song; I am prompted to sign in to redeem code. I proceed in to sign in and a reply message; my apple id has not yet been used with the ITunes store. Please review your account information, as I click to review, it sends me back to the Itunes store.
I don't know what else I need to do. If anyone has helpful suggestions, I would appreciate it. Thanks

You can create a iTune and App Store account without credit card details
1. Sign out of current Apple ID
2. Go to App Store and select a free app
3. Tap INSTALL APP
4. Create New Apple ID
5. Confirm Your Country
6. Agree with Terms and Conditions
7. Fill in your Apple ID and Password (must be a valid email address)
8. Create and answer your secret question
9. Select NONE for Payment Method
10. Fill in Billing Address
11. Submit application for new Apple ID
12. Wait for verification email
13. When email arrive, verify your account
14. Start downloading your free apps

Coke free songs error

Hey everyone im hoping somebody can help me. I loaded all 5 of my free songs (through Coca Cola promo) onto my itunes a while back. I thought I had used them all, but when I go to the itunes store and try and download a song it says: 'Your free song balance is out of date. Click ok to refresh and try your purchase again.' Of course I try this, but nothing happens. Now I can't buy any new songs because the same message keeps re-appearing. Anyone know what I should do? Thanks. Chris

I'd suggest you contact the iTunes Music Store customer support department through the form at the bottom of this web page and explain the problem to them.

Bob Dylan Free Song Card from Concert

I just returned from Bob Dylan concert where concertgoers received a free song card for Dylan's new "Someday Baby". When I tried to redeem it by entering the code, I received a message saying the item was no longer available. The ecxpiration on the card is 9/30/2006. What gives? Is this just a scam to get my personal info into an ITunes account?

Probably gone, although Apple doesn't tend to explain to anyone what they're doing at any given moment, so who knows.

Sorry, I am not sure what you are doing.
You can only download songs from Apple iTunes Store or sync from computer iTunes music section.

I can't download the new, free U2 album into itunes. HELP!

I keep trying to download the new, free U2 album: "Songs of Innocence" into my Itunes but it keeps saying:

How exactly are you trying to download it ?
You should be able to download it by going to the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage and selecting Music on that screen.
Or you can tick the 'show iTunes in the Cloud purchases' tick box on the Store tab in Edit > Preferences (iTunes > Preferences on a Mac) - it should then show in the Music part of your library with a cloud icon against it for downloading (when downloading its digital booklet via this way I get a 'corrupt file' message when trying to open it).

Help! Song purchase missing/lost free songs!

I downloaded the iTunes upgrade the other day, but I didn't instal the update. Today, the update installed. Right after the install I purchased a song. After putting in my password iTunes player. I put in my password, it said I bought the song. Now the song isn't in my purchased list AND 8 free songs I have disappeared!! What can I do to get my song and my free songs back?? Due I need to e-mail someone?

Hi there! Just wondering if iTunes is no longer offering a iTunes Latino song of the week... Just got my iPod for Christmas and was really enjoying them since then until today when I see the same free song in iTunes and iTunes Latino...
Think it'd only be fair to put a song in Spanish on iTunes Latino...

What happened to the free song a week on iTunes?

I Haven't seen iTunes post a "free song of the week" in over a month and I'm just wondering if anyone knows if this is just a temporary thing or if they have gotten rid of it. I hope not . I actually used that feature to explore new music that I otherwise might not have listened to.
