No notifications on lock screen.

I have iPhone 4, just upgraded ios5 and everything restored fine. The problem is I'm not seeing any notifications on lock screen.  And only see the camera icon in lock screen sporadically.  Any others having this issue?.

I've done that.  What I've now seen is it appears notifications only show if they come in while the phone was locked.  Once you unlock it the notification does not stay.
The other problem seems more of a bug.  I don't see the camera icon on the lock screen.  Or I only see it rarely.  Most times it's not there.

  • Missed call notification in lock screen

I have an iPhone 4S running iOS 5.0.1 and I discovered a potential security/privacy issue. Generally, when apps are configured so that they leave a notification on the lock screen, you can actually swipe the notification itself (rather than the "slide to unlock" bar at the bottom of the screen). When you do this, you are still asked for your password to unlock the phone, but you are taken directly to the associated app after the phone is unlocked. The problem is, when you swipe a "missed phone call" notification from the lock screen, the number is immediately dialed! You are not required to enter your password first!
I won't go into the reasons why you possibly wouldn't want this to happen - I'll leave that to the individual to figure out. The point is, if the phone is locked, you should only be able to make non-emergency calls. Period. I called Apple Support to inquire about this issue and the best they could come up with is to set the phone app so that notifications aren't viewed from the lock screen (Home > Settings > Notifications > Phone > View in Lock Screen = OFF). While this does in fact secure my phone, it also takes the "Smart" out of "Smart Phone." You see, I would like to be able to take a quick glance at my phone to see if I missed any calls (without first unlocking it), then if I choose to return a missed call, I should have to enter my password before the call is made. In other words, the phone app should act like all the other apps in this regard. After all, other smart phones often have an LED that flashes to notify you of missing calls (without the need to unlock the phone first). Come on Apple, we know you can do better than this!
It seems strange that if I get a notification on my lock screen about some breaking news from "The New York Times" app, that I have to enter my password to view it (after swiping the notification). It's as if the news is some big secret that we don't want "unauthorized users" to view, yet the phone allows anyone to return a call from my lock screen without first unlocking it.
At the very least, there should be a setting to allow the user to choose how this action is handled.

  • How do i disable ALL notifications from lock screen?

I do not want ANY notifications on my lock screen. This is a security issue. How do i disable them, other than individually editing preferences for each individual app, and remembering to do this every time i install a new app?

    This is the preferred method:
Open Terminal and enter the following command:
    launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.notificationcenterui.plist
Next type the following command to kill NotificationCenter:
    killall NotificationCenter
Finally, quit out of Terminal and return to Finder

  • How do I swipe notifications in lock screen?

I understood one of the new features for iOS 5 was that I could swipe notifications on the lock screen to go directly to the application. I cannot get this to work on neither my iPhone 3GS nor my iPad. Is this only supported on iPhone 4S?

I completely understand your question and grappled with the same issue all night and morning until I accidentally figured it out...
To activate an app by swiping a notification from the lock screen, grab the icon of the notification and swipe it to the right. For example, for a calendar notification, grab the little calendar as if it were going to be dragged form the left to the right of the screen.
    Hope this helps!

  • Not getting any notifications in lock screen

IPod touch 5 when locked it's not getting any notifications, but when I unlock my ipod it shows the notifications such as imessage and gmail notifications...it's not in do not disturb mode, alerts are on, show in lock screen is on. Yes I reset networks settings and rebooted I even restored..I'm using ios 7.0.4 btw. Even talked to apple for 5 hours straight and they can't figure it out...so I returned my iPod touch 5 and got a new one..still doing the samething and ipad with retina is doing the samething too.. Please help I keep missing messages from family and friends. I hope this is just an ios 7.0.4 bug and that it will be fixed in ios 7.1

Did all that...talked to Apple 5 hours and I did everything they said..they don't kno what the problem is

  • Group name not showing notifications on Lock Screen

Here's the story: I have iOS8.0.2 on my iPhone 5. One of the groups I named, "The Guys", for all my buddies do not show up in the lock screen notifications as "The Guys" like they did before. It's now showing separate txts like it did in iOS7 instead of in a group.
Example, when I first named the group, every txt message from that group showed up labeled as "The Guys" on my lock screen. Then, for some odd reason, they started showing different " Greg (7)" and then "Bob (2)." Am I the only one having this issue?
For solutions, I tried deleting the entire thread, redoing a thread, and then renaming it "The Guys." ... Nothing. Same crap.
HELP! It's annoying. I bunched these people together so that I wouldn't have this issue - because it can get confusing with accidentally typing something into the wrong thread not knowing that it's the group chat. Now I'm having this issue.
    Thanks for help!

  • Swiping a notification on lock screen does not launch app since IOS 7.0.3

Since upgrading from an iPad 2 to an iPad Air and From an iPhone 4 to an Phone 5S, if I swipe a notification on the lock screen, that app is not launched. Instead the home screen is displayed. It doesn't matter if the notification is a text, an email, a phone message, or a game alert. They all get the same response. At first I thought it had to do with having a pass code on the device since I hadn't used one before getting the 5S and the air. I turned the pass code off and still get the same results. I read another similar post and the answer was 'working as designed'. I don't believe that is true. Their answer was you must then launch notification center and select the app there. It was extremely convenient when it worked properly before.

    Yeah,that makes a difference. Thanx a bunch

  • Sliding message notification on lock screen opens new conversation

When a single one of my contacts sends me an iMessage, the notification on the lock screen slides open to create a new message with that contact (in green instead of blue) rather than displaying the iMessage thread.
I need to "cancel" the new message and return to the list of messages to view the new message from that contact. This only happens with one contact and started after he visited the United States for a few days; the problem continued when he returned to Canada.
I've restarted and reset my phone. It is only happening on the iPhone; iMessages are opening normally on the iPad.

Try double tapping the home button to bring up the multi-tasking list. Find the Messages app and then swipe upwards on the thumbnail to close it completely. Then try the phone reset again by holding the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. Let's see if this will correct the problem. The next step in troubleshooting is to restore your device from a backup. But either this or the reset network settings that I sent you before should correct this.

  • Can I open a notification from lock screen with just Touch ID?

Is there a way to open a notification from the lock screen by using only the Touch ID feature?
For instance, on my lock screen I will get a notification of a new email then I have to swipe at the email notification then type in my code or use Touch ID then the email opens.
Is there a way for when I get an email notification on my lock screen to just put my finger on the Touch ID sensor and have the email open? In other words, can I bypass the swiping motion of the notification with just a Touch ID sensor touch?

I haven't found a way to do so either. And I agree that it is pretty annoying. Touch ID is a great piece of technology but it is not well thought through and heavily underused from a software point of view.

  • Setting to show text (sms) notification on lock screen but not message content

Just about every phone I have will give a notification of a new text while locked. I know the iphone goes one step further shows a preview and who it's from.
For privacy reasons (work and personal) I might not want people to see who is texting me or what it says. I would like a simple message saying "2 new messages", or "1 missed call" on the lock screen, so I do not have to unlock it every time to check.
    How do I do this?

    Settings > Notifications.
    Select Messages.
Set it to Banners or None.
    Show preview Off.
Badge App icon On. (This is the little red number on the icon showing how many new messages you have).

  • Messages interactive notifications on lock screen blank

I updated my iPhone 5S 16GB to iOS 8.0 and everything seems to work perfectly fine except for my interactive notifications with my messages on the lock screen. When I swipe the notification to the left to reply, it's completely blank. The tiny x to dismiss the notification shows up but the reply button is nowhere to be found. I then tested it out with an email, and the email works perfectly fine with both the mark as read and delete buttons showing up. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Messages App doesn't alert or post notifications when open.  Not sure what you mean by "turned my phone on", "when in a group chat."  If your phone was off (shut down), it can't receive/show anything.

  • Iphone 6 plus not showing notifications on lock screen

    HI
After updating to IOS 8, I no longer get text message notifications on my lock screen.  I hear the text message noise, and it shows I have a new text when I unlock the phone, but it does not appear on my lock screen.  Just wonder if anyone else has had this issue?

Did you check the settings for messages in the Notification Center? Try to deactivate the settings and active them again, if the settings are correct.
Resetting the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Appel logo comes back again, might also help.

  • Notification panel/lock screen exit button

On my galaxy s5 the button to exit spotify is next to the next button, so while driving I often accidentally close the program and then have to reopen the app. Simply if the button to exit the program was on the left instead of the right it would be much more convenient.

  • Notifications on locked screen possible?

    Moved for greater exposure

    Hi bobh080850!
It's understandable you wanting to be able to see your notifications, even when your screen is locked.  I would like to assist.
The DROID RAZR screen lock is a nicely added feature to prevent accidental touches.  The only thing you're allowed to access while screen is locked is "Emergency Calls".  Just know this feature is set this way for your privacy.
I hope I have answered your question, and have addressed your concern.
