No one has started video ( Lync Client 2010)

I have Lync 2013 Enterprise environment with 2 FE and 3 SQL working as mirroring, and also backup sites where singel FE and SQL are running
P2P video conference is working fine, when it comes to multi-video conference participant's video stops one by one. Today we have done latest CU10 updates , results the same ...
Btw, Lync server 2013 is running as on-premise and Lync client  is  lync 2010  ...
Thank you in advance ,

Are the front ends behind a firewall or anything that may intercept traffic?  Is there any software on the machine such as endpoint protection software that may be an issue?  If you install the Lync 2013 basic client, do you have the issue?

  • Tricky Issue with connecting to Lync server from my desktop lync client 2010

I am facing a tricky situation here,
Firstly i have 3 modes of connecting my laptop to the internet as follows:
    1)Using Wi-Fi connection.
    2)A physical LAN cable connection
3)An internet data card (A USB data card).
Now, i can comfortably use my Lync using 1st and 2nd mode of connectivity. But i am having a real issue using the 3rd mode of connectivity i.e using internet data card, it just doesn't connect to the Lync server at all, even though i can browse internet
    very well.
Later i got a workaround to solve this, what i did was, i connect to internet first with 1st and 2nd modes i.e wifi or lan cable and then i also connect to internet using 3rd mode i.e data card.
After this i start my Lync, which  now connects perfectly and then when it is connected and working.
I disconnect my WiFi or LAN cable this causes Lync to restart, but this time it connect within minutes again using internet of my datacard, isn't this Bizarre ??
Now Could someone please help me to connect the Lync just  by using my internet datacard?
Atlast 2 thing which may be of help is :
1)I can easily connect Outlook to the exchange server using my datacard and retrieve my mails.
2)When i connect to internet using my internet datacard, I can still see "Not Connected Symbol"  in my network indicator on my Win7 PC, But i can still Brows
    internet.
This problem may have something to do with networking, not sure. Please Help me to solve this !!!

Infact it was a Network Issue, found following on technet and solved the issue:
I found a solution for (my version of) this problem.  My tray icon never showed the red X, but if I clicked on the icon, the popup showed a bigger icon with a red X, and said "Not connected".  As in your case, Internet worked, but I'm unable to setup
a VPN connection because it insists on using a non-existent modem, obviously because I'm "not connected" (which I am).
I monitored the processes running the NlaSvc and Netprofm services (using ProcMon), and noticed that both were denied read/write access to subkeys within the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList hierarchy.
The processes were running as NetworkService and LocalService, respectively, so I tried adding full access for these service accounts to the entire subkey
mentioned above.  Notice that permissions are not automatically inherited in the registry, so you may need to explicitly "replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object".
Within seconds, Network and Sharing Center tells me I'm connected to my domain.  Yay!
A reboot was required to fix the tray icon and its popup.
However, I'm still unable to add my VPN connection.
I'm interested in hearing from you guys if your registries miss the same permissions?  If so, Windows 7 must have a bug somewhere with misaligned service permissions/rights.

  • How Can I move contact users saved on lync client 2010 to lync client 2013 ?

i did a migration between lync 2013 and lync 2010 everything done ok
now when move the users from the lync 2010 pool to new pool  and sign in  with my user i couldn't  see any contact on my old list
there was DBIMPEXP.exe tool but this tool not exist in lync 2013
i took a backup for all users but how can i restored them to new client
the backup file on lync 2010 is "xml"
and in the lync 2013 is "zip"
     thank you all

    Please check the following blog.
    http://www.shudnow.net/2012/10/09/dbimpexp-exe-functionality-integrated-into-lync-2013-preview-management-shell/
Lync Server 2013 Preview has deprecated the use of DBIMPEXP.exe.
There are now native Lync Mangement Server cmdlets to provide the equivalent.
You can use the command convert-csuserdata to convert between a 2010 XML file provided from DBIMPEXP.exe and a ZIP file provided from Export-CSUserData.

    Hi,Paul,
Have you tried to log on another Windows account and see if s/he can start the Lync client?
Would you please delete the sip profile folder for this user on the computer and try again? The Sip folder path is like below

  • VVX handset initiated call will not connect to Lync client with simultaneous ring enabled

Has anyone encountered a similar issue? And any advice on how to fix it please? (note - a case has been logged with Polycom, but weeks are passing by and they have not provided any useful response so far; hence reaching out in
the community for help) .... thanks in anticipation.
    Here's the scenario:
A Lync 2010 user in the office (I'll call her Lisa) has setup her Sim Ring to an external number (her mobile number).
Another Lync 2010 user in the office (Mike) calls Lisa's extension from his VVX410.
Lisa answers the incoming call using her Lync client with a USB headset.
The call appears to connect according to Mike and his VVX screen starts the call timer.
Lisa's Lync client just says "Connecting Call ..."  but never actually connects.
The line is silent for both Mike and Lisa.  There is no audio in either direction.
    Further testing reveals the following:
The same problem occurs if Lisa uses a VVX handset to answer and also happens if she uses a CX600 handset to answer.  Hence the problem seems to relate specifically to the fact that Lisa has setup Sim Ring to an external number; rather than relating
    to the answering device type.
If Lisa changes her Sim Ring so that it calls another internal extension, then the problem does not exist, i.e. calls connect fine.  Hence it seems to be specific to sim ring to an external number.
The environment is Lync Server 2010 CU6, Lync client 2010 on Win 7 (although the same problem exists when tested with a Lync 2013 on Win 8.1 client); and with AudioCodes Mediant 2000 and 1000 gateways.

Please specify another external number for Simultaneously Ring.
You phone may not have permission to dial an external phone number.
Please check if you can call the external phone number directly.

  • Is it possible to hide work phone numbers from Lync client?

    Hello all.
    Out customer has following infrastructure:
One Standard edition FE Lync Server 2010. IP PBX not yet integrated with Lync.
They want to hide work phone numbers in Lync Address book. I played a lot with ABSConfig, deleted all entries with phone, etc. Update-CsUserdatabase, Update-csaddressbook. Forced clients 2010, 2013 to update their address book, but numbers appear again.
    Please help.

    Hi,
You can try to change privacy relationship of your contacts to the "External contacts" or "Blocked contacts", by default your colleagues will be set to "Colleagues" group and the federated partner contacts will be set to "External contacts".

  • Lync Server 2010 Control Panel - "navigation to the webpage was canceled"

    Hi All,
I just installed Lync Server 2010. The SQL 2008 is installed on a separate box and both servers are on Windows 2008 R2.
However, when I try to start the "Lync Server 2010 Control Panel"  i get a blank page with the following message "Navigation to the webpage was canceled"
The Installation had no errors and went well. But I did have one problem in the Topology Builder where is asked to create a File Share and asked for FQDN and File Share. I entered "Server1.domain.com" and File Share "Poolshare" but it did
not like it and error with a red cross saying..
"FQDN Server1.domain.com is already used in this topology"
So in the end I just change it to "Server1" then published and ran the installation sucessfully and all services are started OK
Any idea? could it be that the file share is not using FQDN?
    Thanks
    ECL

I have reveiwed this topic but have not been able to fing my answer. I am getting the same result when attempting to connect to the Lync Control Panel and the webpage saying "navigation was canceled..". Here are the details, any assistance is greatly
    appreciated:
I have an existing OCS 2007 R2 server setup in the domain. My domain is company.CORP. It is a Standard Edition server for IM and Presence only. There is an Edge server as well and I have PIC enabled. My sipinternaltls SRV record to the current SE Front End.
All works great. There is a SIP.company.com record in the domain too. I am standing up LYNC 2010 environment on HyperV and ran topology builder twice because I had to fix a name. (I see in Mac's comment that I need to run step2 again. Why is that?)
My Share is on the HyperV server that is hosting the Front End server but they are completely different servernames. My topology published successfully and create some data in the File Share and the Backend DB was created and populated with tables. The certificates
were successfully applied and all services started right up. The latest version of Silverlight was installed and the server was rebooted. Still the darn White Page with 'Navigation to the webpage was canceled'.
I am able to go into IIS and launch the Control Panel successfully by browsing on the "cscp" directory for the Lync Server Internal Web Site. I can also connect to the Control Panel by using the
httpS://admin.company.com/cscp but I have to put  'cscp ' in the path. I cannot browse AD using the Control Panel to find my TestLyncUser1 account but I can find the account, and successfully enable
the account, using the Lync Management Shell. The account was enables and was able to successfully login to the Lync FE server (manually, since the SRV record point to OCS).
This is where I am stuck. Why won't it launch from the Programs File Tool and why do I have to designate the CSCP in the URL? I am Not sure why I couldn't browse AD successfully in the Control Panel yet I could with Powershell. I will begin troubleshooting
that issue next. Could it be because my sip.company.com record points to a different OCS Pool? Or my SRV internaltls record points to the OCS Pool? Microsoft supports standing up the two environments side-by-side and migrating but maybe I am missing something.
    Any ideas anyone?
I want to add that I will be having a FE Pool and have named and published my second FE but I have not installed it. The Pool VIP is created in DNS and only pointing to FE1 right now.

  • Pool pairing : lync client doesn't reconnect to backup pool

    Hi
I'm currently testing lync 2013 failover via pool pairing. (IM only)
Once I stop the Frontend service however on the pool01 server, I get a notification on the lync client : "connection was lost. Reconnecting.."
However the lync client doesn't connect again (while it should reconnect with limited functionality)
Before simulating (shutting down the service)
    > Get-CsBackupServiceStatus shows "final state" - "normal state"
    > pool2 is configured as backup of pool1 and visa versa
    > cms is hosted on pool1 server
    > 2 std servers (one with pool1, other with pool2)
    SRV records
1 with priority 0  and value _sipinternaltls._tcp.customer.com, which points to hostname pool1.customer.com
1 with priority 10  and value _sipinternaltls._tcp.customer.com, which points to hostname pool2.customer.com
I've upgraded the lync client to the latest build to be sure.
Anyone knows where to look? Settings seem to be correct.

I've left all defaults regarding failover.
    something to add :
    * the servers are installed in the domain a.prod.customer.com
    * the sip addresses of all users are @customer.com
    * the users can be situated in the domain a.prod.customer.com, b.prod.customer.com or c.prod.customer.com
I've just tested and when I start a Lync client, I can see both SRV records popping up, so discovery of these records seem to work correctly.
When I stop the frontend server of the pool the user is on however, I don't see any redirect in the logs.

  • Lync clients 2013 fails to show video, but 2010 works ok.

We'v migrated from 2010 to 2013 Lync server. But some Lync clients in remote places are still 2010.
And today I'v discovered that in a conference for 50+ participants but only one speaker (audio, video and presentation) for some reasons no one of 2013 client and WebApp could see a speaker video. I'v first restarted a client, then
a device, but no effect. After 30 minutes we have to start without a video, but some users with 2010 clients wrought that they have a video of the speaker.
I'v installed a Lync 2010 to my test PC, and on the same PC, with the same credentials 2010 client video is ok, and 2013 shows only a video placeholder.
I’v created a test conference, and the same situation repeats with only 4 clients.
    Any suggestions ?

    Hi,
From your description above, did you mean only 4 special Clients have this issue?
If yes, please try to check the OC firmware, delete Lync user profile and Lync information on Registry, then test he issue again. If the issue persists, please check if the Lync 2013 client update to the latest version.

  • Lync clients upon start opening up connections to foreign servers

We are seeing a weird behavior on all of our Lync clients. I am wondering why it would open connections to foreign servers while it starts, and then those connections end just as mysteriously as they started. We are using Lync 2010 and along with the
June 2013 updates. We discovered this by accident while reviewing TCPView. If you need any more information just ask.

You're right, it's not your picture, but if there's a contact in your list that has a web url published for their picture for other users to see, communicator.exe will make an http connection upon startup to go fetch it.  These can be all over
the place on whatever server the person chose.  Whatever it is, Fiddler or Wireshark will tell you what the full URL it's asking for is and give you a clue as to what it is.
Edit: You figured it out as I was writing this.  That was an interesting one...  Thanks for marking my reply!

  • After connecting the clients to start video chat using RTMFP , Can the server finish the video chat

After connecting the clients to start video chat using RTMFP , Can the server finish the video chat between clients regardless of clients' will ?

    Hi,
I looked on this site http://portforward.com/routers.htm
It lists many routing devices both modems and routers.
I did not see the Surfboard you listed but that does not mean it does not route (It just means it is not in the list)
Your computer is getting the IP 192.168.1.3 which means a device somewhere between you and the internet is routing.
Most likely in System Preferences > Network for the connection method you are using you can see a "Router IP" (192.168.1.1 is most likely based on the IP you get)
Type this into to your Web Browser like you would Apple.com
You should get a Pop Up.
Hopefully it will tell what device you are now trying to Log in to.
This info may help in looking in the Port Forward list.
If not check all the Motorola devices listed and then iChat in the Next page.
The third page from the Link page I gave you will detail the default access info (IP and User ID and Password) for each device you visit.
You may find that there is a common User ID and password across the various devices and this may work for you.
At Random this one says admin and motorola as the User ID and Password. (others may say different)
Don't worry about the fact it says to set a Static IP at this stage Or the Port Forwarding info further down each page.
You will hopefully be now looking at the web pages stored on the modem.
They work like any other web pages with menu items and links to other pages.
Search all the menu items and link to see if the device has UPnP
It tends to be in different places on different routing devices but try Advanced or Admin as well as anything to to do with opening ports.
A Status page like the first pic on the second link page I listed may well tell you if it has UPnP enable or not (but this is not always the case)
Tell us what you find out or if you have some other routing device in between you and the Motorola Surfboard.

  • Change the default one-click audio call option on Lync clients

I know that the Lync client looks to AD for the telephone number (of which I have the txt file normalizing the number there) and that is working properly. I would like to know how I can change the default to make a "Lync call" as oppose to dialing the
    number from AD.Bob Ausmus

You need to set the client policy:
    EnableVOIPCallDefault
    Optional
    Boolean
When set to True, a Lync 2010 call will be placed any time a user employs the click-to-call feature.
This policy setting only affects the initial state of the click-to-call feature. If the user modifies the value of the click-to-callsetting then the user-selected value will override this
policy setting. After a user has modified the click-to-call setting that setting will remain in use and will not be affected by the EnableVOIPCallDefault policy.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398300.aspx
    Set-CsClientPolicy -Identity Global -EnableVOIPCallDefault $true
