No OpenGL under XP 64bit

I have a problem with CS4 under XP 64 bit. The 'Enable OpenGL Drawing' checkbox in the preferences is grayed out. I have a Radeon 4580 card which should work with CS4. I recently had Vista 64bit installed and there was no problem there... OpenGL worked just fine in CS4, just as it should.
But I can't get it working in XP64. I've installed the latest drivers but still nothing.
Anyone have the same problem? or the same setup and got it working?

I have XP-64 and you can get OGL working. Just use the enable old GPU hack mentioned in other threads here.
I have found it to be about the same speed as CS3 without OGL enabled and slightly faster with it enabled. The filters work much faster and interoperability between LR 2.1 64-bit and CS4 64-bit is extremely fast. 64-bit filters like Neat Image are instantaneous. I am typically working on 16-bit tifs from the 1Ds MK II.
Presently working with Word, Outlook, Opera, PS CS4, LR 2.1 open and the task manager is running a total of 31 processes which includes three separate processes for the Wacom tablet and ESET Smart Security in the background.
The lagginess that others report is there with the rough round bristle brush at 100 and the dry brush tip light flow 66. There is no lagginess with the other brushes at default sizes. Some images, not typically large, with lots of adjustment layers and layer effects open slowly, sometimes a square at a time, but when the same file is opened on CS2 w/XP 32-bit it opens the same way.
XP-64 is not supported, nor was it supported in CS3. I have found that using the Wacom pen speeds up the brush response. Using a wireless mouse slows things considerably.
Stability is 100% so far and I have never had a crash.
See if it works for you. If not, go back to Vista 64.

  • No thumbnail rotation in Bridge CS4 under Win7/64bit

Bridge CS4 was working fine under Vista 64bit.  After updating to Windows 7 64bit thumbnail rotation does not work (neither using [] shortcuts, nor the tolbar arrows).  My computer has a GeForce 8600GT, to date in terms of updates.  I tried resetting the preferences, purging the cache etc to no avail.  Any suggestions?
    TIA

Memory can also mean inadequate page file, memory problems, or cache.  Also, since it is a new computer don't rule out defective RAM.

  • Programming under vista 64bit

    Hi everybody,
i'm looking for some stuff for 64bit support.
    I installed JDK 6.0 for amd64 under vista 64bit (I have a core 2 duo process).
I did'nt find a good software which support 64Bit (eclipse support only win32 not 64 at all).
Here is some stuff i'm searching for 64 support:
    - Log4j
    - Eclipse (or another IDE..)
    - Java 3D (installed with amd64 version under a core 2 duo computer)
    - JAI (did'nt find anything about a 64 bit version)
    - JMF (found for linux... not for vista :( can compile sources anyelse )
    - ANT ( same as JMF, found for linux)
I need some help please, i'm looking on apache.org, eclipse.org... posted some topics.
    Please help.
    Thank you

I have done some research on this and must say it is not much info about 64bit which can give me any info on how many actually uses it.
My stats does not at all show anything about different Explorer browsers for 32 and 64 bit.
And there is no stat for 64bit system.
From the info I got it seems to be possible to run both the 32bit browser and the 64bit on a 64bit Vista. Does this give a difference for support for QTVR and for other Quicktime movies?
I can see that there is no Flash plugin for 64 bit as well so is there also a problem with flash panoramas?

  • CHM does not display under Win7 64bit

    Hi all,
the CHMs generated unter Win 7 32bit do not open correctly under Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 64bit. The CHM viewer opens and the TOC is visible, but all pages are empty (white, no error message). The CHM is stored locally. The same CHM can be viewed without problems under Win7 32bit.
    Any ideas about this?
    Robert

Wrong information - sorry! The CHMs were generated under Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit as well. That means they do not display on the same computer they were gnerated on, but under other systems that have 32bit OS (Win7 or XP).

  • Installing DM11.5 under Win7 64bit

Has anyone successfully installed and used DM 11.5 under Windows 7 64bit? I've tried it on two different computers (a laptop and a desktop) and in both cases when I try and "Open" or "Join" a workspace as soon as Studio tries to open a Windows Explorer window so I can browse to the .DXM the program locks up and crashes.
With Studio closed, if I go through Windows Explorer, find a .DXM and double click it, Studio will open OK. However, if any setting is off and Studio wants to 'browse' for the missing file (.dxs or .ini) then the program locks up.
I believe the patch level of 11.5 we are using is p0 or p1.

I have now tried the install on a Win7 32-bit PC and received the exact same results. The 64-bit systems were Windows 7 Home and the 32-bit was Ultimate.
I have also confirmed that the 11.5 system is P01.
I am interested to know if anyone else is having this problems as our office is currently upgrading ALL PC's to Windows 7 over the next 12 months. Our clients are also moving to Win7 so if there is a compatibility issue, I'd love to know sooner rather than later.
I verified in the DM 11.5 Install guide that only XP and Vista are documented as tested.

  • Acquiris card wont run under Labview 64bit

    HI everyone,
I try to run a Agilent Acquiris card (U1082A) with Labview 64bit version under Windows7. The drivers are already installed and it works just fine with the Labview 32bit Version. Agilent supplys a 64bit driver and also Labview VI as seen in the following screenshot:
When I now insert just any of these VI's into Labview, it won't run. It says it doesn't find the function in the library:
I re installed the drivers now, just two different other system with Windows7 and it still won't work. Any suggestions on where the error may be?
    Greetings from Wisconsin,
    Arne Petersen

    Arne,
Greetings from Texas!  It looks like the function name in the library call is incorrect.  Are you able to browse the functions included in the DLL to select the right one.  The function itself looks like it may point to a 32-bit version (perhaps an oversight in the development of the code).  Even if you can't see the included functions, I would still try to change the function name to _AcqrsD1_configVertical@64 instead of _AcqrsD1_configVertical@32.
In actuality, however, this is an issue with the function call to a DLL developed by Agilent, contained in a VI distributed by Agilent.  They will probably be able to help you a bit more in this issue, if the above suggestions do not help.
    Good Luck!

  • What shall I do with my project created under Labview 64bit?

Since I start to use a new PC with Windows 7 x64, I start to built my project in labview x64. It was more than a year ago, and the project involvoes some cameras, IO board, etc.
There were troubles, such as some devices that I use labview to control don't have x64 drivers or the drivers didn't work properly; however, I manage to make my system work till this moment that I need to embed some Matlab scripts in my project and we just paid for the Mathscripts, but I suddenly realised that Mathscript doesn't support LV 64 bit.
    So, the questions are
    1. Can I use Mathscripts under LB 64 bit?
    2. Even if I can, is that a good idea to stick with lv 64 bit with all those peripheral driver troubles?
Alternatively, shall I migrate to 32 bit LV, I just try to open my project with 32 bit LV 2011, there are lots of missing VIs. It seems I have to spend some time reconnect hundreds of VIs and other unexpected issues?
Either way, I need to spend some time on NOTHING?
Could anyone who has some experience on this issue shed some light on me??
    Thanks.
    Solved!

    Ravens Fan,
Thanks. This sould like a good approach for my current issue.
But, do you have any general opinion on the 32/64bit LV? Since I start using the 64 bit LV, I had quite a few problems only due to the 64 bit compatibility.
Is it a good idea to keep on the 64 bit track?  At the end of the day, how much benefit I gain from using 64bit LV? Is it much faster? I could run a comparison after I make the 32 bit program work, but it's good to hear some other's opinions.  One contact of ours from NI told me it's better to use 32bit. What do you think? Thanks.

  • Maximum usable RAM under 64bit Vista with LR2 / CS3?

Forgive me if I'm just stupid but I've been looking and looking and cannot find a definitive answer here on the Adobe site.
What is the maximum usable system RAM that LS2 and CS3 can take advantage of when running 64bit Vista on a multicore x86 processor PC?
Any links to articles or practical hands on experiences posted would be appreciated!

Hey Jao thanks for the quick reply. So if I have an 8GB box running under Vista 64bit LR2 can use as much as it needs beyond the memory used by CS3 and the memory sucked up by Vista 64bit O/S?
It was my understanding that XP 32bit users could use up to 3GB and the O/S would see and use it. I used to have 4GB in a box and XP Pro only used the first 3GB but due to the overhead of memory refresh and the propagation latencies adding up it turned out 2GB was as fast or faster much of the time. So you're saying that CS3 is still limited to the previous 3GB barrier?
    Thanks!

  • SSIS package fails under SQL Server Agent job

    Hi All
I have designed a SSIS package to encrypt a file using Cipher (EFS) it works fine from BIDS & Package Execution Utility.
But SQL Server Agent job is failing to do this. I am getting the error as
" In executing C:\Windows\System32\Cipher.exe /e /a C:\Test.txt at "",The Process Exit code was 1 while the expected was 0."
    Please help me.
    Thanks

Two things that usually come to mind when this happens from BIDS locally to the SQL Agent are
    1. Security is not
adequate under the SQL Agent Service Account
Rule the security problem out by setting up a proxy account that you know ahs security to run the needed tasks in the package.  Either that or give the service account the permissions needed.
    2. 32bit BIDS development and running under a 64bit Platform in your SSIS installation
This can be fixed by selecting run in 32bit more or running the package with the 32bit installed version of DTEXEC found in the Program Files (x86) folder where you installed tools.
Next, setup logging in the package so you get a more detailed error message.  Event handlers on the tasks will be much more detailed using the OnError event.  you can write that to either a flat file with a data flow in the event handler or simply
insert the event into a table using the ? as the parms.  If you need assistance setting that up, here are basic steps for a SQL Server table
    1) Select the task and click the event handler tab in BIDS
    2) Select OnError event handler in the list
    3) Click the enable link and drag a Execute TSQL Task over to the window
    4) Create a table in your SQL Server database (create one so you don't litter your user DBs if needed)
    5) Open the task and add the connection as needed.  Then add this statement
    INSERT INTO dbo.TableYouCreated
    (PackageName, SourceName, EventInfo)
    VALUES (?,?,?)
     6) Go to parameter mappings and add 4 new mappings as following
    System::PackageName
    Input
    nvarchar
    0
    System::SourceName
    Input
    nvarchar
    1
    System::ErrorDescription
    Input
    nvarchar
    2
Save and reimport the package and then the event of the errors should insert into the table in detail

  • Windows Vista 64bit and Zen, Video Convertsion

We just updated out computer to one with Windows Vista 64bit.
Everything was fine until we tried to convert a .mov file to place it on the Zen. First it said we needed Quicktime ver 7 (which apparently the original video was created with). Tried to install that, to no avail. Turns out Quicktime 7 is not supported under Vista 64bit, according to Apple.
I then found on another message board of people having trouble running iTunes on Vista 64. Use the following link:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
You can then select the 64bit version of iTunes.
After the install the video conversion worked perfectly.
    Hope this helps others.
    Thanks

Can I run 64bit Vista in Bootcamp?
Yes. Both the computer and OS X are fully 64-bit compliant.
You can install a second video card that does not work with OS X but does work with Windows. Third-party video cards do not work with OS X because they do not have the EFI boot ROM required by OS X. They will, however, work when you boot into Windows. You do not need to convert the Mac Pro to a Windows-only machine which would seem a waste of perfectly good hardware and software.
You can install any SATA hard drive in the Mac Pro. There is no limitation with regard to size. Cache, however, is a feature of the drive and not the computer. Apple does not "qualify" drives for use with the computer.
These questions have been discussed in the Mac Prp fourms so I suggest you search the forums for other discussions of the topics.

  • Opencl under bootcamp

I'm triyng to run reconstructme under win7 64bit in a bootcamp partition. An error appears as opencl.dll is missing. I tried then to install intel_sdk_applications_2013_beta_x64 and it works but it's slow.
I tried to install last ATI AMD drivers for the graphic card 6490M but it doesn't work as the program crashes. These drivers are not published specifically for MacBook Pro and actually they have some problem.
Is there anybody who had the same issue?

Well, looks like I figured it out. A repair of Bootcamp install failed, but a complete removal and reinstallation resolved. So disregard!
Hope this helps someone else too.

  • Elements 6 Runs under Vista 64 BUT nothing happens !

Under Vista 64bit OS I have installed the elements 6 software and the installation completed fine. When I start the
program nothing happens. I have inserted an SD card into my PC and the Adobe Photo Autodownloader started OK, so at least part of
    the software is working.
I have tried an uninstalled and reinstall  but this makes no difference. If I open the program, nothinghappens. The process appears in Task Manager as running Photoshop Element 6.0.exe but the application does not start. Aside from the entry in the Task Manager there is no sign of the application actually running.
I have an open problem with Adobe but so far they have sent one suggested fix that was for a different application on a different operating system ! Plus one suggested fix that was for a different problem !
Has anyone seen this and/or can provide any suggestions.
Any help would be very much appreceated. !

    Hi,
Thanks for this suggestion .  I have tried this twice but it does not seem to make any difference so I still have the problem where nothing happens when I run the application.
Not sure if anyone else has this issure.
Adobe support suggested this as well (a few hours after yourself).
Any other suggestions out there ?

    Hello,
I am using the trial version of lightroom 5.2 and think about buying it.
My question is: When I buy it with the installation cd, can I install it on both machines, and if so, are there things I especially have to look at when installing it?
Another question is whether I can run 5.2 under the 64bit modus on my 32bit computer (as it was possible in version 2, 3 and 4)?

    Thanks for your answer!
I thought it had been possible because it was said ond the Dutch adobe community.
