No option on itunes account to change authorization of my computer

switched from a ipod shuffle to the ipod touch, transferred itunes successfully and what not. Now cannot get the music in my library to download to the touch and it says because my computer is not authorized to do so. So, following apple instructions I went on my itunes account and there is no option to change the authorization of my computer. help!

If the computer's running Mac OS X, move the cursor to the very top of the computer's screen, click on Store, and choose Authorize this Computer.
If the computer's running Windows, press the Alt and S keys and choose Authorize this Computer, or click here, follow the instructions, click on Store in the menu bar, and choose Authorize this Computer.

  • HT1420 itunes account will not authorize with only 2 devices authorized

After having to Reset the SMC due to computer locking up, The itunes account will not authorize. In Apple ID account I show 2 active authorized devices. But my Macbook Pro that was previously authorized will not allow me to authorize it. Error message on the itunes app states that there are already 5 devices active.
I reset the ACL user account, did a permissions repair, reset computer user password.
I continue to have the same error message.

iDevices are not authorized, only computers are.
What happens when trying to download the media on the computer?  The above is confusing and difficult to read.
    Stick to the facts please.

Yes, but your iTunes library won't automatically show up on a different computer; putting it there is a separate process.

my old laptop is not working.  How do I get my itunes account and library on my new computer with out wiping out my ibrary?

    Hi 1Donald,
To answer your question, ''"How can my new desktop have a KEY when it is not even part of the sync yet?"''
You need to get the key from the new device and enter it into the old device. So on the old device select "Pair a device" and the place to enter the key will show up.
    I hope this helps.

  • How can i add an already existing iphone to a different itunes account without changing anything on the actual phone...just updating it?

I have an iphone synced to my iTunes account.  But I need to add another used/existing iphone to my account to update it.  I do not want to sync my emails/contacts/apps, etc. from my computer/iTunes to this new iPhone.  This 2nd iPhone already has existing apps and is in use.
Is there any way that I can do this without changing anything on the existing iPhone?  All I need to do is update it to the iOS 5.0.1.
    Thanks!

Thanks so much for the response!  You have been helpful and quick!
It wasn't my phone, hence the reason we didn't want to share/take each other's content (apps, contacts, music, photos, etc.).  But the owner's phone hadn't been able to update because of a computer crash/no access to a stable computer.  So, I just wasn't sure if we could do an update without sharing content.
But you most definitely answered my question!  So, thank you!

Are they linked to my iTunes account so I could then be able to re-install them on a newer 4th Gen iPod Touch?
I'm re-reading your message and not sure what you mean by wanting to re-install them to a newer ipod? They won't be able to purchase from your account after you restore as new your old ipod if that's what you're asking. But you could still sync "their" ipod with your iTunes library.
If you're asking about setting up a newer ipod for yourself, here's how you want to do that. Before you do that Restore on your old ipod follow these steps:
1)Connect your older ipod to itunes, right click on the device and Transfer Purchases to bring over any Apps & Music you purchased on your touch at the itunes store but isn't on your computer.
2)Also right click and choose to Backup your ipod.
In [iPhone and iPod touch: About backups|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766] > About Syncing and Backups >iTunes will back up the following information you will find the list of what's included in backups.
Please note backups do not include data like music from your CD's or Apps (although App data is backed up). In step #1 you transferred to your PC any Apps or Music purchased from the iTunes store. It's up to you to make sure you have any other music in your iTunes library.
    3) Connect your new device. iTunes will give you the opportunity to restore from a backup. Select the backup you just made.
4)Finally, sync the device selecting the Music, Photos, etc that are in your iTunes library but were not part of the backup data.
    Hope that helps.

  • Can't create iTunes account or change country of iTunes store

    Hello,
I hope this is the correct place to post this question.
I am set up my iTunes account, and the problem I'm running into has to do with the 'country' setting.
Going through the account setup process, at the credit card information screen, I click the link in order to change countries. I select 'Canada', and click 'Change Country'. At this point I am sent back to the iTunes store main page, which is set to the United States.
If I scroll to the bottom of the main store page, and select 'Canada' to change the country setting manually, I get the error, "Could not complete the iTunes store request. The store may be busy. Check your internet connection or try again later."
I have checked my Norton Internet Security firewall settings. I have cleared the DNS cache. The iTunes store functions normally in other ways, i.e. I can play song previews.
If anyone can help me fix this problem it would be greatly appreciated!

how do i get rid off the leftover cents on my itunes account without creating a new one account. it wont let me change country unless i get rid of the money. i only have 34 cents. u cant buy anything with that

  • Email/iTunes account name change

How do I change the iTunes account/Apple ID that backs up my iPhone?  The email address has changed and I can't find a way to redirect it.

Your purchases are permanently tied to the Apple ID (account) used to purchase them.  They can't be moved to another account and you can merge accounts.  You can start making new purchases with your iCloud ID if you want, but you will end up with two sets of purchases under two different IDs, adding further complication to your life.
Also, your @icloud email address is an alias of your existing @me address; emails sent to either address will be routed to the same inbox.  You can decide which one you want to use as your default (as discussed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5441) but you can't separate them.

    Hello there Sweebs44,
It sounds like you are tapping the Game Center app to open it, but the screen is blank. I recommend signing out of your account:
Go to Settings > Game Center, where you can:
Sign out (tap your Apple ID)
    From: iPhone User Guide
              http://help.apple.com/iphone/7/#/iph6c493cac
Then close all the running apps:
iOS: Force an app to close
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
    Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the phone sign back into your account and try again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • How do I get none option for iTunes account

There is no "none " option in my iTune account. How do I go about it.?

Is it new account that you've just created or an existing account that you've been using for a while ?
If it is a new account then how did you create it ? Unless the instructions on this page are followed when creating an account : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
then credit card details will need to be entered before an account can be used to download any item from the store.
If you are being prompted to review the account then you could see if this post by mountaingoatgirl lets you do so without needing to enter credit card details : https://discussions.apple.com/message/24303054
If not then you will need to create a new account, and this time use the instructions on that HT2534 page when creating it. If you want to use the same email address then you will need to replace it on that account first e.g. by tapping on it in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your phone, via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes or via http://appleid.apple.com
Creating an account with 'none' via a computer's iTunes : https://discussions.apple.com/message/24321860
If it's an existing account on which you currently have credit card details and you don't get the 'none' option then do you owe iTunes anything or have any pre-orders/subscriptions due : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5366 ?

  • ITunes account used on work and home computer

I use the same iTunes account on my home and work computers.  I have home sharing on.  I have always been able to purchase music on either computer and access it on both.  Recently I made quite a few purchases on my work computer but I can not access them at home.  Nothing has changed.  Help!!

    Hi,
The best way to manage work environment security would be to enable password login to access your session.  In system preference in the user section, enable the settings to ask for password.
