No option to Batch Process in Bridge CS5

Usually in Bridge I would go to Tools> Photoshop> Batch. But instead I am seeing Tools> Process Collections in Photoshop.
Even if I go into photoshop to batch process via Bridge, the option for Bridge is greyed out and I can't select it.
I am on Windows 7, 64 bit.
Please help.

  • In Bridge CS6, the "Tools" tab is missing the "Photoshop" option to batch process image

    Hello!
    Does anyone know why in Bridge cs6 under the "Tools" tab, my "Photoshop" option is missing?  That is how I have always batch processed images.  In Bridge, I choose the images to process, go to the "Tools" tab, down to the "Photoshop" option then to "Image Processor" and process.  Now when I go into my "Tools" tab it only has the options: Batch Rename, 4 kinds of Metadata related options and Cache.  Can someone tell me why this has happened and how to fix it?  Thank you!!!

    Hello Omke,
    This problem lasted for two days.  I tried many suggestions but nothing worked immediately.  Suddenly I turned my computer on last night and it was fixed...inexplicably.  Not sure what worked but something did.  I appreciate you taking the time to offer advice.
    Best,

  • Photoshop cs5 says "Place" is unavailable when I try to batch process from bridge, does anyone know what's going on?

    I am trying to batch process my watermark from bridge.  I have a saved action in photoshop cs5 and have used it for a while and all of the sudden it says "place" is unavailable.  I have reset bridge and photshop and restarted the computer.  Do actions get corrupt?

    That is a very common error message actions produce when  for some reason the document current state does not support the command or feature used in the action step that gets the error.  With our seeing a screen capture of the error message and being able to see the document window, the layers palette and the actions palette   Its not possible to tell you why the actions is getting that error message.  Most likely its because of the document current state. For example place is not valid for a bitmap mode document.

  • Batch Processing in Photoshop CS5 opens files in Camera Raw

    Regarding batch processing straight from Photoshop CS5 (not in Bridge) I am unable to get the .dng files to open up without requiring that I click on 'open image' in Camera Raw.  I am trying to run a simple two step sharpen plus save and close action on a batch of 700+ .dng files.  There is no open command in the action.  Thanks.

    You probably need to check Suppress File Open Options Dialogs.

  • Batch Processing using Bridge to PhotoShop

    - I am using CS4 on a PC.
    - I shoot RAW and from Bridge I go into Camera RAW and adjust my images.
    - Usually I save each one at a time however I would like to learn how to be able to edit each photo using Bridge and Camera RAW ( I’m already doing this), then be able to take all of the photos in the directory and batch process to save as a tiff or jpg for further manipulation.
    - I was using Canon’s DPP but want to do all my work in Adobe. The process in DPP is straightforward.
    I'm sure this is simple but I can't seem to find it in the menu's or Help.
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    Curt:
    Thank, this gave me the direction I needed. After a few tries I think I've got it down pat.
    Thanks again.

  • Option to Prefer Distributed Cache (Bridge CS5)

    Bridge CS5 always stores cache data in its central cache, even if the "Automatically Export Cache To Folders If Possible" has been selected.  This doubles the amount of disk space the cache consumes.
    Users should have the option to prefer distributed cache *instead* of central cache, perhaps an option "Prefer Cache in Folders If Possible".  This option would cause Bridge to write cache data *only* to local folders (except when the local folder is read-only, then it writes to the central cache).  This option would allow the user to gain the advantages of a distributed cache (forums.adobe.com/message/2779967), without the unnecessary sacrifice of storage space.
    If this idea was considered and rejected, can someone describe why?
    Thank you,
    Scott

  • Batch processing - sequential actions (CS5)

    I would appreciate any help for the following scenario as no internet search has been useful so far.
    I need to batch process a set of folders, each with subfolders inside, and each subfolder with 3 images as follows:
    -TWG 1
      - subfolder 1
         - green 1.tif
         - blue 1.tif
         - red 1
      - subfolder 2
         - green 2.tif
         - blue 2.tif
         - red 2.tif
      - subfolder 3 .....
    - TWG 2....
    - TWG 3....
    My goal is to take green 1, blue 1, red 1 and combine them into a single image placing each into the respective color channels.
    Combo 1.tiff = red channel (image from red 1), blue channel (blue 1), green channel (green 1)
    I have already created 2 actions as follows:
    Action 1 - autocontrast each image - purpose is to open all 3 images using batch processing and leave them open for action 2
    Action 2 - combine the 3 open files into a single combo.tif and closes all files leaving no files opened
    My questions are as follows:
    1) Is it possible to batch process a folder that opens all images prior to proceeding through the action? This would allow me to open the 3 files in each subfolder and process them all together, skipping action 1 that I already created
    2) Is there a way to automate a batch such that sequential actions are used? For example A) batch is processed through action 1 first, and then B) action 2 kicks after all 3 pics have already been opened from action 1
    3) Can I automate this entire process for the parent folder of everything? (Pictures/TWG1-9/subfolders1-9/green1, red1, blue1)
    I appreciate any help or advice in this matter.
    Thanks.

    You'll probably have to use a script if you want to automate things at the high level of being able to traverse multiple folders.  I'm no scripting expert, but I know there are a lot of them about, especially here:

  • Batch processing from Bridge: including "Subfolders"

    I posted in the Camera Raw forum on this, but thought it would not hurt to re-post here.
    Context: Mac quad G5, 4G Ram, 4 internal drives, OS 10.4.11, Photoshop CS3 Extended 10.0.1, ACR 4.4, Bridge 2.1.1.9
    Checking the "Include All Subfolders" box seems not to process any folders contained within the currently selected Bridge window. All selected files, other than the subfolders, process as usual.
    Some jobs require that images be sorted by machine or model number, and into folders. Now I want to make previews for the client.
    I had never used this option before ("Include All Subfolders"). Is there a trick to it? TIA, kl
    Omke suggested Batching from CSPS, and Ramón suggested Dr Brown's 1-2-3 Processor. it's good, to be sure, but it has no option to check subfolders, and selecting a folder that contains images and subfolders is not permitted.
    TIA, KL

    Thanks, Omke; ignore that Q. I posted on the "Features" thread.
    I just ran a quick test on Dr Brown's 1-2-3, but selecting it via "Scripts"; amazingly, the "Include subfolders" check box appears.
    The only part that does not seem to work is that the results of the processing seem to be in one folder only (rather than the processing following the folder structure of the folders, or, in the case of using 1-2-3 from Bridge, TIFFs appearing in one folder marked "TIFFs" and JPEGS in their own folder).
    Not a big problem, but if there is a way to reproduce the folder structure of the *Source* files and subsolders, I will be 100% happy!
    Cheers, kl

  • Batch Rename in Bridge CS5

    Hi,
    I'm new to Bridge and need to batch rename files.
    Current filename example: 608309400035_PrimaryImage_Hardware.jpg
    Renamed file example: 608309400035.MAIN.jpg
    Is there a script I can use to accomplish this?
    Thanks for your help!

  • Batch processing from Bridge: checking the "include "Subfolders" box

    My request is simply to make this function work.
    This would help my workflow enormously. If the processing simply reproduced the folder structure on the destination drive, as selected in the "Destination: Choose" dialogue, that would be completely adequate. TIA.

    Thanks, Omke; ignore that Q. I posted on the "Features" thread.

  • CS5  Batch Processing Photo Editing work flow

    I am relatively new to CS5 and I am intested in automating the correct  gross  photo editing work flow process [ie., levels contrast, color , noise, sharpening etc] once I have made RAW corrections for each photo.I hope this is as simple as refering me to a tutorial
    Tank

    Not sure exactly your are looking for, a template or an action to apply to other images. In Bridge/tools/photoshop there are a number of options.  The image processor is quite powerful.  There is also the option to make a metadata template to apply settings to other images.
    Do a google search for batch process edits Bridge and see what suits your fancy.

  • Bridge CS5 and Illustrator batches

    Hi
    Can I run Illustrator batches from the Bridge (CS5), or is it only Photoshop batches that can do this?  If I go to Tools>Photoshop, there's a bunch of options, including Batch…, but under Tools>Illustrator there's only one option, Live Trace….  If I want to run a batch that doesn't involve Live Trace, can I do it from the Bridge or do I have to run it from Illustrator?

    The additional functions that are under Tools for Ps, Ai & Id are provided by 'Bridge' start-up scripts (You can turn these on/off). These are samples wrote by Adobe. There is only the one for Ai but that does not mean that you can't add more… You get a scripting Tool Kit with the suite so you could learn to make your own?

  • CS4 open script using Bridge batch processing

    I wrote a script in CS to open a logo file (.psd) and copy it onto a photo
    Since upgrading to CS4 the script will not work with batch processing in bridge. It does work in Photoshop on a single image however.
    Here is my open script....when I batch process it brings up an open dialog instead of just opening the file
    ///CODE
    var activeDoc = activeDocument;
    var logoDoc = open(File("/c/stlg.psd"), OpenDocumentType.PHOTOSHOP, false);

    That didn't work either :(
    I was looking at the OpenDocument.jsx sample in the scripting samples directory and tried batch processing it....it opens a photoshop sample psd file and it worked...though I don't understand the code or why my code above won't work
    /////OpenDocument.jsx code
    //var strSamplesFolderDirectory = localize( "$$$/LocalizedFilenames.xml/SourceDirectoryName/id/Extras/[LOCALE]/[LOCALE]_Samples/value =Samples" );
    //var strSampleFileNameLayerComps = localize ("$$$/LocalizedFilenames.xml/SourceFileName/id/Extras/[LOCALE]/[LOCALE]_Samples/Layer_Com ps.psd/value=Layer Comps.psd");
    var fileRef = new File(app.path.toString() + "/" + strSamplesFolderDirectory + "/" + strSampleFileNameLayerComps);
    open (fileRef);
    fileRef = null;
