No option to place from Bridge to Dreamweaver.

I purchased Dreamweaver as a stand-alone download (legal & registered to my Adobe account), and I know that the stand-alone DW doesn't come with Bridge. Because I own PS, ID & AI, I already have Bridge installed.
Since this is my first excursion into web design, I also purchased the Classroom In A Book title for DW. In the lesson on images, they want you to place a file from Bridge into Dreamweaver, but the "Place..." option in Bridge only lists the other three Adobe products. Is there a way to tell Bridge to place into DW, since DW allows me to browse in Bridge?

Drag drop from bridge to InDesign.

I am having problems with getting drag drop to work from bridge to InDesign. I have made an extension that reads information from ouer dam and shows it in bridge. I wont to bee able to drag a node from that data from bridge(It shows fine in bridge with thumbs) to InDesign. I have enabled:

At the bottom of the document window you have the Browse in Bridge
The Default Shortcut for Bridge is CTRL+ALT+o (CMD+OPT+o)
In Edit>Keyboard Shortcuts under
Product area : Panel Menus
Layout Window Status: Reveal in Bridge --- [none defined]
or
Layout Window Status: Reveal in Mini Bridge --- [none defined]
to add your own shortcut to Reveal in Bridge command
But I just don't see a way to go "Place from Bridge"
In fact - in all the years I've been on the forums I have never seen the request.

Uploading from Bridge CS4 to smugmug

Recently upgraded from CS3 to CS4 and cannont locate the option to upload from Bridge directly to my smugmug site as I could in CS3. What am I missing.

Sometimes features dropped from one version are put in an extra, or addendum file on the install disk. Might check the disk or if downloaded go to that site and see if there is something.

Place linked from Bridge CC to Photoshop

Hi All,
I love the new "Place Linked" ability in Photoshop CC.
However, in my normal workflow I use File->Place->Photoshop in Bridge quite often, either from Bridge or Mini Bridge.
In bridge/photoshop CC, this "Place" command seems to be "Place Embedded" without an option to "Place Linked".
Is there any way to use the new "Place linked" frmo within Bridge CC?

Missing RAW and CS5 option from Bridge

When trying to take a photo from bridge to either RAW or CS5 for processing, those options are no longer available. I get a msg that they are not in the system.
I have re-installed CS5 but no returning email has arrived from Adobe confirming instillation activty has been completed.

From Bridge I had been able to select RAW or CS5 for processing photos. They no longer show. The msg I get is:
Windows cannot find C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\Photoshop exe. Make sure you typed the name correctly, than try again, click the stat button than click search.

Photoshop cs5 says "Place" is unavailable when I try to batch process from bridge, does anyone know what's going on?

I am trying to batch process my watermark from bridge. I have a saved action in photoshop cs5 and have used it for a while and all of the sudden it says "place" is unavailable. I have reset bridge and photshop and restarted the computer. Do actions get corrupt?

That is a very common error message actions produce when for some reason the document current state does not support the command or feature used in the action step that gets the error. With our seeing a screen capture of the error message and being able to see the document window, the layers palette and the actions palette Its not possible to tell you why the actions is getting that error message. Most likely its because of the document current state. For example place is not valid for a bitmap mode document.

When I use the command "Place in photoshop" CC from Bridge CC, it skips the Camera Raw Dialog box

I am having an issue when I use the "Place in Photoshop" command from within Bridge CC, it is skipping the Camera Raw Dialog box and not behaving like a normal smart object. This has been my workflow for years and suddenly it's not working in CC. Anyone have any advice? Thanks!

As far as i can tell, if you use Place>In Photoshop from Bridge with a camera raw file and don't have any other documents open, it skips the camera raw dialog, but does place (open as a smart object)
and then you can double click on the smart object icon on the thumbnail in the l;ayers panel to open camera raw.
If you already have a document open then Place>In Photoshop using a camera raw file opens the camera raw dialog before placing the photo.
Also check the photoshop>Preferences>General and verify you have Place or Drag Raster Images as Smart Objects checked.
The above behaviour seems to be the same in photoshop cc as past versions of photoshop, at least on the windows versions.

Can't open file from Bridge CS6 in PS CS6

From Bridge CS6, my files open in Windows Photo Viewer or Live Photo Gallery. When I go to "Open with" on the File menu PS CS6 is not an option. I know this has to be simple but it is driving me nuts and I can't get my photos to open in PS when I double click on one of my tens of thousands of photos.
I just bought CS6 yesterday. Also, do I need to keep the Adobe CS6 file that is on my desktop, or can I delete it now that the program is loaded? It is 1.77 GB. If I even need to reload PS, I can do it from the store on my account, right? Same for the Adobe file that is on my desktop from the LR4 download a couple of months ago. Also, I left PS6 checked on the download for 64 and the regular PS. I have windows 7 so I only need 64 bit. Why is the other PS CS6 (non 64) there? Do I need it? Should I uninstall it? Also, should I uninstall CS4 and CS5? They are all still sitting there, along with LR3 (I use LR4 now). I have huge and multiple hard-drives, so space is not a consideration. But I just want to clean up a little.

Some users experience file association and other problems with an uninstall of past versions. So it is safest to leave them be.

Can't open files from Bridge in CS6

All was good with CS6 until today - it will not open files from Bridge. Jpg and RAW, neither will open, it's driving me bananas! Any suggestions?
Edit: Problem solved. I had overlooked an old version of PS 7.0 was still in my program files and CS6 Bridge had picked it up as default editor. Deleted PS 7.0 and everything is back to normal. Phew!

Strange Plug-In Behavior CS4 - Opening from Bridge

I think that this is the right forum, but it could be bridge instead. I've moved my Photoshop CS4 to my new Win 7 64 bit PC. I am having a very strange situation with my optional Plug-ins and Bridge. This us with the x86 32 bit version. When I open photoshop directly, by clicking on the Icon, all of my plug-ins are available. When I open it from bridge, by double clicking on an image, Only some of my plug-ins show up in Photoshop. I am bewildered. Can Bridge settings (or whatever) in Win 7 64 affect the Photoshop CS4 settings? Any help and / or thoughts are appreciated.

Mylenium - thanks. I also was suspicious of the tablet, but the tablet is not in use when this problem shows up. Nevertheless, I uninstalled the Wacom driver, removed the tablet connection, rebooted, and the problem persists. But, I did get a chance to install a new version of the driver (April 2009).
Like I said - strange problem. Since it doesn't crash PS, there's not much data. No error message, no stack trace.
One other tidbit. I still have the crop tool selected. If I load an image and place the cursor over the image window, the cursor changes between the crop cursor and the big white arrow. Back and forth. When it's doing this, if you want to use the selected tool, you have to click right when the tool's cursor is showing, otherwise you get the "bing" noise.

Adapting workflow from Bridge to Lightroom

Migrating from Bridge to Lightroom and looking for suggestions on organizing RAWs/jpgs to optimize transition? My files are a mess with many duplicates as well as jpgs and RAWs in the same folders. Thanks!

The best advice I can give you is that Lightroom is different than Bridge. If you followed a sequence of steps in Bridge, do NOT insist on following the same sequence of steps in Lightroom. Lightroom offers you many paths to get to the end result, and often these paths are simpler and more powerful than getting to the same result in Bridge.

In my opinion, this is extremely simple. Your RAWs and JPGs should stay exactly where they are now. Do not move them even one millimeter, or to another folder. Import into Lightroom using the ADD option.

Lightroom should be able to weed out the duplicates (if they are true duplicates).
JPGs and RAWs in the same folder????? This is HORRIBLE, I tell you, HORRIBLE. You should be shot!!!!! (This is sarcasm, of course) Leave them alone. Don't worry about it. Lightroom doesn't care. You can achieve organization even if you leave things the way they are now. Everything works fine the way I do it, which is JPGs and RAWs and TIFs and maybe even a PSD and a video in the same folder.
Use Lightroom tools from now on to organize and search. These tools are keywords, captions and other metadata. Put your energy into using these Lightroom tools, and not a single drop of energy into re-arranging and re-organizing your folders. The Lightroom tools are specifically designed for photos, and result in a much more powerful organization than anything you could develop by re-organizing your folders. Folders are no longer an organizing tool, they are simply the place where your photos are stored.

Thanks. Before my re-installation if I was in Bridge and found a photo I wanted to edit in CS5 I would just double click it and it would be brought in. Now when I do this I am brought into a microsoft viewer. To edit a picture I found in Bridge I have to write down its name and directory, open up CS5 (if it is not) and navigate to the photo. I found the place in Photshop and Bridge where you are supposed to be able to change the default program invoked when you double click on a photo in Bridge but there is no choice given other than the Microsoft viewer. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. At some point some web site I was reading suggested the problem being related to CS5 failing to make some change in the registry when it installed? Problem using Image Processor from Bridge

I have been using the Image Processor to process photos from Bridge for quite some time. However, I recently received an error message when I try to initiate Image Processor from Bridge and I have not been able to find any help topics that address my problem: I select images in Bridge to process, then click "Tools>Photoshop>Image Processor". Photoshop opens and the familiar Image Processor dialog box opens. Item 1 in the dialog box says "Process files from Bridge only" and has the number of files I have selected in parenteses. I select the file type and other settings in #3, and preferences in #4. When I click "Run", I get an error message window that says: "Script Alert. There were no source files that could be opened by Photoshop". The Image Processor works if I open the files in Photoshop first, then run it by selecting "File>Scripts>Image Processor" and tell it to process all open files.
Would someone be able to help me with this problem?

Usually when it worked before and not now, and you have added no new software or hardware I recommend resetting the preferences. Hold down the Ctrl key and click on the Bridge icon to start. You should get a reset window with 3 options.
