No option to use fingerprint at windows 8.1 Login

Ok so I see many posts about issues with Fingerpint reading in 8.1 Pro x64 but none of them are helping me. Got an X1 Carbon Type 20BS which uses a Synaptics fingerprint. I can register fingerprints and tell WIndows to allow fingerprints for logging in but no matter what I try, at the login screen there is no option to login with fingerprint I jjust got this laptop for work logging onto a domain and the settings in Local Group Policy Editor etc including allow use Fingerprint to login to a domain were already enabled and I am setup with local admin rights At first I registered fingerprints with the Lenovo Manager but since found out Windows 8.1 has built on fingerprint management so I deleted all fingeprints with the Lenovo Manager and went to PC settings, Accounts and added fingerprints there for login. Still nothing. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest Lenovo fingerprint manager, adding 2 lots of registry settings to Windows -> Policies and Windows -> WInbio nothing works!! So obviously no issues with drivers and hardware WIndows just wont start the fingerprint sensor at login. Some times I actually saw the light come on before I hit the login screen but then it goes out. Also has a look at services, Windows Biometrics is set to Auto Start, Credential Manager set to Manual but running.. So I am out of ideas here.. Is there anything else I could be missing set up to disable fingerprint login? Right now I am just logged onto the machine outside my network but even when I was at work and on the LAN still nothing.. Anyone that can help be much appreciated We used to have HP Laptops on Windows 7 and even then I could use fingerprint to login to the VPN Connection (Aventail) not even that works on 8.1 and Lenovo. Although I found a workaround I would like Lenovo to evaluate this.
Workaround: I switch the Yoga 2 Pro back to energy saving mode using the screen (Win8.1). After that I tab on the Windows Icon just below the screen. In most cases that's enough to get the keyboard awake. Sometimes I need to do that twice.
Another thing I noticed: the keyboard-awake-bug only happens, if the Yoga 2 Pro has been in Energy Saving mode for a long time. When the notebook is in energy saving mode for just minutes, the keyboard bug does not happen.

Users not given option to "Use my Microsoft Windows user ID"

Hi guys.
Anyone seen this before?
When our users connect to BPC, either through IE or straight from Excel, they get the following:
The first time they connect in any session (after a reboot, logon, etc.) they are offered both options to sign in...
"Use my Microsoft Windows user ID and password"
and
"Use a different user ID and password"
This is as intended
However, on any subsequent login requests (changing Apps, AppSets, closing and re-opening Excel, etc.), they are ONLY given the "Use a different user ID and password" option.
Whilst this might seem a minor issue, the number of times that users are having to re-enter their password in a day is getting on people's nerves and we're hearing a lot about it.
Has anyone come across anything similar before, and if so, how (if at all) did you resolve it?
This has been a problem in v7.5 SP4 for a while and is still a problem after an upgrade to 7.5 SP6

That was gthe first thing I checked.
However, we have resolved it. Strangely, we had to set SOX compliance to ON and then back to OFF.
This seems to have done the trick.

Yes, as long as you can display what you need on the XP
desktop, you should be good to go.
Keep in mind that your best result will likely be obtained by
creating the voiceover as a separate process and not while you are
recording the initial movie.
Also, you may discover that the remote destop won't paint
quite fast enough so Captivate will record "blank screens" here and
there. Where you notice this happening, press the Print Screen key
to force additional screen captures. It's always easier to delete
unwanted slides than it is to re-create them when needed.

i just bought a 5s yesterday , i can use my fingerprint scanner to unlock the device it works like a charm .
However i want it also to be able to buy apps on appstore without having always to reenter my itunes password
It's not working ! Appstore keeps asking for a password ! but the option to use fingerprint on appstore is on !

Have you tried running the uninstaller built into the temp folder for the B209? Try the steps listed below.
1. Run disk cleanup on your computer
2. Download and run the software and drivers below.

No, they're just in a different place. Adjust the available settings in the PSE print window, then click Print. You will see a small OS X print window. Click the Show Details button and use the pulldown menu in the middle of the expanded window to set things like paper type, ink, quality, etc.

I purchasd an ITune Audio Book using a borrowed Windows Computer. After the Download I attempted to Sync and was told that I was synced to a different [something]. It then asked if I wanted to sync to this [Something] I said yes. IT wiped all the stuff off my IPod then gave the following message:

How can I get this to work?
It considered the computer pretty acceptable when it took my money for the title. I think I have been ripped off.
THis whole SYNC is an innecessay step. Why can't I just download stuff to my iPod (from any sourch by the way) and delete it from my iPod when I don't want it any more.

Window.open() will open separated windows even using the same window name?

Hi, I have below two test html pages as below(could not find a way to insert a attachment, so paste the content below). The reproduce step is as below: (My environment is Win8.1 with IE11)
1. Open print_test.html page in IE, here we call page1.
2. Click "File -> New Session" menu from IE menu bar, which will open another new IE window which display another " print_test.html" page, here we call page 2.
3. Click "Print" hyper-link in page1, and a popup window which display "print_test_open.html" page, counting begins from 1, here we call it page 3.
4. Click "Print" hyper-link in page2, and another popup window which display "print_test_open.html" page, counting begins from 1, here we call it page 4.
However, the behavior above is totally different on my Win7 (64 bit) with IE 10, which is in step 4, when I click "Print" hyper-link in page2, instead of open a new popup window, the window for page 3 will be reused and counting will restart from

I googled and know from MDN for window.open() and get below information to indicate that in my test pages, I use the same window name, so that the existed window with the same name will be reused is as expected, but however, why IE behave differently in
Win8.1 with IE 11? Why the existed window could not be reused anymore?

Bootcamp not giving me an option to use a usb drive

Bootcamp 5.0.3 on OS 10.8.4 is not giving me an option to use a usb drive to install windows. It worked on my Macbook Pro but not on my IMac. And it's not recognizing the dvd with the windows ISO on it. Any suggestions?

I've disabled "SOX Auditing" option in Server Manager in BPC 5.1 SP03, but "Use my Microsoft Windows user ID and password" is still grayed out. The only option I unlocked is saving password.
How do I enable Windows Authentication in BPC?

Enabling/Disabling SOX Compliance does not take effect until the 2nd time you go through the Connection Wizard.
Your problem could also be within Internet Explorer.
Go to:
1. Internet Explorer>Tools>Internet Options>Security Tab
2. Click on Local Intranet zone>Custom Level
3. Scroll down to User Authentication>Logon. Ensure that Automatic Logon with Current UN and PW is checked.
4. Do the same for the Internet zone.
Try on multiple machines.
Also on the client machine, look at the value for BASICAUTHENTICATION in:
hkeycurrentuser>software>vb and vba program settings>outlooksoft 5>latest

I use Firefox and Windows 7, when I'm using my main account on computer it starts old version of firefox and when I use the guest account it start the new version. Why and how to fix it?

Guy that repairs my computer asked me if i saved new firefox just on guest account, but i didn't, i re-installed it again and again.

Apparently it's related to the Firefox plug in.
This isn't exactly a solution but more of a way to avoid opening PDFs with Firefox's plug in.
1. Highlight "Tools" from the Menu Bar in the top left of the screen (or click "Options" if using the Firefox Compact Menu)
2. Select to "Options
3. Select "Applications"
4. Look for "Adobe Acrobat Document" under Content Type and to the right under Action select "Use Adobe Reader (default)" instead of the using Adobe Acrobat in Firefox
5. Open a test PDF. It should open in it's own window now.
Again, not a complete solution but something that'll at least let you scroll with PDFs open.

But he can't change the search options.
He is working with Outlook 2007 on Remote Desktop Services 2008 r2.
We doen't use cache mode on terminal server.
Any sugesstion how we can enabling search options for remote desktop users ?

- In Group Policy, load the Office Outlook 2007 template (Outlk12.adm).
- To customize how results are displayed, under
User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Microsoft Office Outlook 2007\Tools | Options\Preferences\Search Options, double-click the setting that you want to set. For example, double-click Turn off wordwheel.
- Click Enabled. For hit highlighting color, choose a color from the Background Color drop-down list.
- Click OK.

The option to use private browsing is missing in the dropdown listo I think this happened after I down loaded an app that was supposed to help me shutdown private browsing since I didnt know how to do it. I dont remember which app it was. But either way its gone now..

Unfortunately Firefox doesn't have an option to open a private tab in the current regular window.
You have to open a new private window for private browsing.
