No out put from timeline

I am using FCE 4.0 on my iMac and recording to a Sony GV HD 700. I have done this many times with no problem. Now I do not get any output onto the deck from the timeline when I try to record to tape or to print to video. Also the image on the iMac is much smaller than it should be. I believe the computer and the deck are communicating because I can capture from the deck. I think there must be some setting which has gone astray but I can't find it. Help, please.

Wonderful. What a relief. I deleted the following attributes and the video is restored to normal size (except for a few stills which I will have to re engineer). I will also have to rework the audio a little.
Video attributes - basic motion, crop, distort, opacity, drop shadow, filters, speed
Audio attributes - levels, pan

Getting my indesign files to look what I'm out putting from Photoshop

Has anyone printed Blurb books using Indesign. There is supposedly this PDF work flow for Blurb books when using Indesign for Blurb books. Yet the printers that Blurb uses are best suited for SRGB like most labs..
Blurb strongly recommend one convert their files to CMYK when using Indesign.
I'm trying to figure out why in photoshop my files which will have great color and contrast and I'm using the custom proof setting in Photoshop for the Blurb ICC profile which is CMYK. Yet same color
file inside of Indesign will look different. Help
I'm getting to the point of looking at the rgb color values of my files in the information menu in Photoshop. So once i get my files back where I might have remove a certain amount of red from the file.
The blurb book may come back with the image being too red for my liking which is why I will remove some red from my fils. If I remove a certain amount of red out of the file only to receive a Blurb book where the file
comes back looking a bit too yellow. I need a more consistent way of judging my colors for this Blurb PDF workflow for using Indesign CS5.5 Plus you can get a proofs from Blurb and there isn't any comparison ink jet paperto use

Looking at Blurb's printing specs they recommend sending sRGB not CMYK:

They do offer a CMYK profile for soft proofing probably so users see RGB color in some CMYK gamut. I think most online printers do not allow CMYK to be output unchanged particularly if they offer uncoated printing—where unchecked total ink would be an obvious problem in an automated offset process.
Blurb offers one CMYK profile (looks like they've simply renamed Coated GRACoL) even though they print on a variety of coated and uncoated sheets, so even if you converted everything to CMYK using the provided profile, it is unlikely that those CMYK values would get printed—Coated GRACol would not work for Mohawk Superfine.
Since it's likely that all color will get converted on their end, providing the recommended sRGB and avoiding extra conversions is the best bet.

You will need to output the results of the system command to a file and then read contents of the file into your form. The HOST built-in has a limitation, however. The HOST built-in can only execute commands on the Application Server (AS), so hopefully, the "Solaris" system you mentioned is your AS. Once the HOST call completes and the output file is created, you can read the contents of the file using the TEXT_IO built-in.

If th ecomputer you're working with has some server software
running (Apache or IIS) you could save your data with php or asp.
If you don't then you could use the Shared Objects (which works as
a cookie, so you'll be e bit limited here). There was a function
called MMSAVE back in FlashMX, don't know it that still works, that
writes to a text file (but only in the development enviroment).
Let me know a few more details and we'll find a way.

here the jsp is calling Servlets but at the time display the jsp cannot understand the out put comming from servlets ..

Use <jsp:include page="relative_url_to_servlet"/>. Then have your servlet get the PrintWriter for output from response.getWriter() and you should have it.

HDMI out from Timeline

I am doing a job for an Art Gallery, in which I have to shoot, and do a quick edit (no effects), and output to a Full HD 1920x1080 TV.
I intend to buy a Panasonic AG-HMC70U Shoulder Mounted Camcorder, which stores AVCHD 1080/60i (NTSC) video in SD/SDHC Cards.
I intend to buy a Sony VAIO F VPCF127FX/B 16.4" Notebook Computer, with Windows 7 Premium 64 bit, processor 1.73GHz Intel Core i7-740QM, 6 GBs RAM, and nVIDIA GeForce GT 330M with 1GB Dedicated.
Will I be able to output directly from CS-5 Timeline to TV, through notebook's HDMI out?

I have a few questions bellow in red:
I would get 1 Terabyte drives instead...they are not expensive. You might need the extra room if you have to do some exports to files. Get the fastest ones you can for editing...esata better than fw800...make sure you turn off indexing and format NTFS and assign specific drive letters to the externals...put tape on driive with the drive letter you gave it clearly marked. If you dont you will have a hard time swapping them and maintaining links with your project(s).

There's a program called neoscene by cineform that a lot of people use for avchd footage....you might want to look into having that just in case.

I guess you said 2 internal and 3 external ? so you can put your scratchdisk on disc 2 also...and assets and any exports you need to do on the externals...

I will only have one internal disc, dedicated for OS.
Scratchdisk, assets and exports - I will have 3 external discs in total, one to edit, one for playing to, and the third one for copying....
plan on having an "emergency" helper that REALLY knows whats up with the computer and editing stuff in case you get stuck and have to focus on shooting and need help ...line that up beforehand.

go to the gallery and see if you can do anything to enhance the lighting or color correct lights, windows etc beforehand...
test everything .....so you dont have surprises that make you crazy on the day.
That will be impossible as we arrive 1 day before...I'm taking my lights, tripods, color gels...

most of the cards are HD SDI out on BNC connectors. blackmagic makes a box called HD link that allows an HD SDI signal to be mapped 1:1 pixel wise to either DVI-D or HDMI. Your monitor will need to be 1920 x 1080+ for it to work. It Appears you will need both the card and the adapter. I'm using a Kona2 and the hdlink for the client monitor and it works fine. Can I get stepped out put voltage signal for controls from the BNC with Labview?

I am new user to NI Labview. I am working in controls applied in Combustion sciences. I want control the Solenoid valve ( Jefferson made,230 V, 11 W) in stepped manner. BNC (2110) is used for the input signal (Piezoelectric pressure transducers) and output signal. The maximum out put voltage from BNC is 5 V. Can I get the out put voltage in stepped and increasing order to ensure the better controls of the solenoid valve?
Also I would like to know, is it possible for me to control the working frequency ( Injecting) of the solenoid valve with the help of Lab view?

Just having the same issue there, which is real not fun, I have not tried to contact them, but looking at your experience I am not sure if I should.
My key comes from the back of a laptop o so I guess that would be a W7
OEM, and that could explain why you can't download a ISO from their website, would that also your case ?
Also could it be because we are attempting to get the ISO after the product became EOL ?
