No outgoing e-mail with Outlook

I have installed BT Home Hub 3 and wireless works fine. I wish to use Outlook 2007 for emails and have set up as advised by BT. The settings in Outlook are:
Incoming mail server: mail.btinternet.com
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.btinternet.com
Outgoing server: My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication is ticked and use same settings as my incoming mail server is checked
Connection: Connect using my local area network (LAN) is selected
Server port numbers - Incoming 110: Outgoing 25
I am receiving incoming e-mails fine but outgoing mail will not send. Possible solutions welcomed.
Thanks

Hi Andy
Thanks for responding.
Having checked, there is no error message and the indication is given that they have been sent. However, they sit stubbornly in my outbox and I get a notification when I try to shut Outlook that it is still sending messages.
Interestingly I tried to send a message to my self today and it took quite a while but it did eventually send and appeared in my inbox. Likewise I sent one to another account of mine at work and it was received. The two original messages are still stubbornly sitting there though
I guess I should just try a resend on a new message and see if they go and then delete the old messages. I have had no response from the intended recipients to indicate that they have been received as yet.

I wonder if there is anything interferring with the sending process, for example a security product. Do you have McAfee, Norton or something else ?
If so - go into the settings for that product and see if the option to "Scan outgoing mail" or similar wording and turn it off.
[Edit] I posted a minute after you said it was fine

  • ICloud Control panel shows "Mail with Outlook" only

    Hi,
my iCloud Control panel (2.1.1) shows "Mail with Outlook" only, since i removed an ticked the check box twice.
Should be "Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and Tasks with Outlook".
So i did receive Mails from my iCloud account, but no syncing for Contacts, Calendars, and Tasks.
Does anybody know how to restore the full functionality ?
    Thank you
      Wolfgang

I have the same setup as sceloglaux (Win 7 64 bit Home, iPhone 3GS, Outlook 2010).
I tried a reboot, uninstall, reboot again, disable and close anything I can, then reinstall. Still the same problem.
Athough I'm not sure if I got this message before:
    Outlook Setup Error
Your setup couldn't be started because of an unexpected error.
Clicking the report button brings up my profile dialog box, then I choose my profile and it just goes back to the error dialog. Try again does the same thing.
sceloglaux - it sounds like you got it working. Care to enlighten us on what steps you took?
Do I need to have an me.com e-mail account set up first? I don't want to sync e-mail, just calendar and contacts. I tried setting up e-mail in case that's the missing link, but I'm having trouble with that as well (separate thread, probably server issues).
    Thanks.

  • How do I sync Mail with Outlook and Gmail in browser?

I really like the Mail app in OS X, but I've noticed that it's not synced with the browser version of my email accounts, so anything I do in Mail (e.g. read an email, delete/trash it, etc) is only reflected within the app and not in my browser.
Just in case I didn't explain that properly: For example, if I read an email in Mail, and then switch to my Outlook account in Safari to check if that email has been marked as read, it would still appear as unread. If I delete and trash and email in Mac, that same email appears exactly where it used to be in Outlook, completely untouched.
This bothers me for two reasons. One, even if I were to stick with Mail and not touch my Outlook/Gmail accounts in Safari again, I still wouldn't like the idea of my inbox being all messy if I were ever to log back in. Two, Mail doesn't seem to have any options to create folders and subfolders as far as I'm aware, so my emails which are very neatly organized in Outlook are all lumped together in Mail's inbox. So even though Mail is a neat little app, I still have Outlook and Gmail bookmarked.
I'd like to know if there's a way to sync Mail with my email accounts in-browser, so that any changes I make in the app also show up when I log into my actual accounts? Maybe I'm just missing something or if this is not possible at all, please let me know. Thank you!

You have to set those accounts up as IMAP. Right now you probably have them set up as POP3 accounts.
Pop3 account are one way. You download your mail to your computer and send mail from your computer and it all stays on that particular computer. Imap stores everything on the mail providers server. Incoming and outgoing mail is always on the imap server and can be gotten on multiple devices. All sent mail is store on the server also and can be viewed from multiple devices.
With outlook that might not be possible. Not sure if individual outlook accounts can use imap. I do know that the office365 side can as that is what my company uses and some people are using macs and other email program other then ms outlook.

  • Problem Sending E-mails with Outlook 2007

We have multiple e-mail addresses here at my office, all on the same server, same domain, etc. 2 users are unable to send e-mails, but can receive just fine. The e-mails they send are showing in the "sent folder"; however the recipient never receives
the e-mail, and there are no error messages! My e-mail, again it's associated with the same domain and server, works just fine, I can send and receive e-mails all day. The ports are correct, the settings are correct, I have checked EVERYTHING! I have even
deleted those 2 e-mail accounts and set them up again as new accounts, and no luck still. PLEASE ADVISE!!!
    Thank you!

    Hi,
What about when using Outlook Web App [OWA] or Outlook in Online Mode? See if they have any anti-virus software components integrated with Outlook, disable them and verify result.

  • Slow outgoing Pop mail with Lion- is anyone else having this problem?  Email without attachments can take 10 minutes or more to go.

Outgoing pop mail is very slow - at times 10 - 20 minutes and more, even on messges with no attachments.  This has happened since my upgrade to Lion.  My DSL line tests out ok, but Apple says it must be a slow line.  Any one else have problems?

POP is only used for incoming mail.   Some POP servers are the same as SMTP servers.
Check to make sure your internet service provider can either give you an SMTP server, or that you are using password authentication to get to an outside line with the proper port.  Outside SMTP servers are often on one of the  ports 587, 2626, 2662, and often use your full e-mail address for username authentication.

  • Mail with Outlook with an attachment

    Hello togehter
I create a pdf on the SAP system and I want to send this pdf by Outlook because the user have to enter a lot data manually direct in the mail. We have now the following problem: to send the mail with the attachment I have to save the pdf-file local on the PC but some users doesn't have the authorization to download data from SAP. With the method "CLIPBOARD_EXPORT" in the class "CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES" I could export the data to the clipboard but I have no idea how I can get this data to my mail.

  • Cannot send mail with Outlook 2010

I can't send email with Outlook 2010. I can receive fine. I have a Verizon account, and my settings are those recommended. When I try to send email I eventually get a time out. I have called the Verizon techs any number of times and after working with them fruitlessly I was told to call Microsoft. Microsoft can't find the problem and said that it must be a problem that Verizon refuses to acknowledge.

I'm using MS Outlook 2010 in Win 8, Win 7, and XP.  I''m using the latest settings specified by Verizon.  Everything works perfectly, and has done so since since I made the changes a month or more ago.
Unless you post your specific settings, exactly as they are entered into your Outlook program, there is no way that any of the volunteers here can provide useful suggestions.

Here are the correct settings. They have never changed since iCloud debuted a year ago.
    Server information
    IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
    Server name: imap.mail.me.com
    SSL Required: Yes
    Port: 993

    SMTP Authentication Required: Yes

  • Receive mail with outlook problems

    goodmorning from greece
i hava a problem with outllook 2007. Finaly i manage to connect outlook with exchange server 2013. When i try to send a mail to me (for test - inside the organization not over internet) from outlook it seems that the email was send because it moves at SEND.
But then i cannot receive the email.
I configure the account as exchange not as POP3 or IMAP.
    Any one can help?

    Hi KostasVit,
Is there the same issue when you send a mail via OWA?
If you can receive test mail via OWA, it may be a client issue, I recommend you try to change another PC and check again.
If you cannot receive test mail yet, I recommend you use message tracking log to analyze if there is any mail flow issue.
More details about message tracking for your reference:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124375(v=exchg.150).aspx
In Microsoft Exchange Server 2013, the message tracking log is a detailed record of all message activity as messages are transferred to and from the Transport service on Mailbox servers, mailboxes on Mailbox servers, and Edge Transport servers. You can use
message tracking logs for message forensics, mail flow analysis, reporting, and troubleshooting

Just to confirm, since I don't see it mentioned, can you confirm that you're not on Exchange 2003.

  • Send mail with outlook express from LV

    Hi,
I would like to show the "Outlook express's new message" dialog box from labview 6.1.
Does anyone know how to do this?
    Thanks.
    Alexis de La Fontaine.

    Hi,
Send this to "System Exec.vi" :
    rundll32.exe url.dll,FileProtocolHandler
    mailto:[email protected]?subject=Information%20about%20%20program
This should all be on one line. It might get truncated by mail servers.
The %20 gets translated to a space. You can leave the ?subject=etc.., and
you can even leave the email address. It's also possible to fill in the
message, but I never got it working (or forgot how to do it).
    Regards,
    Wiebe.
