No outlook option for contact sync on info tab

hello,
I am trying to sync my outlook contacts to my iphone. It seems itunes for some reason does not detect outlook, since I do not have an option to select outlook on the info tab in itunes.
I run outlook 2010 32 bit version on win 7 home 64 bit. I run the samen sw on my laptop, to my surprise, after installing itunes as well on my laptop, I do have the outlook option to sync contacts.
Obviuosly there must be some difference between my pc and my laptop, but what? I have disabled all com options in outlook (except apple of course), did uninstall/reinstall of itunes. Through msconfig, I also disabled all start up stuff that might interfere, did this based on a topic I found on Apple support. I suspected the Nokia OVI suite (since that too tries to sync with outlook) and uninstalled it. After that, reinstall itunes etc.
Alas, all this to no avail.....sp any help/suggestions will be highly appreciated.
PS I am new to Apple and new to these forums, of course I tried to search the forum. Did find similar problems, but no solution...

  • ITunes doesn't show Google as option for contact sync

I'm trying to sync my Google contacts with my 5gen Nano using iTunes 9.0.0.70 on Windows XP (2005 tablet edition, SP3). I'm following the instructions on http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1245 and http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=138744&cbid=-4q5r0l4gj gdw&src=cb&lev=answer
iTunes doesn't show an option for syncing with Google. When I go to My iPod > Contacts, and enable to "Sync contacts from" checkbox, I just see an option for "Windows address book" and "Microsoft Outlook" but nothing else.
*How do I get iTunes to show Google as a sync source?*
I've poked around on the intertubes a bit and seen mention of gconsync.exe. It's present under "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin" and executes when I run it (generating a wad of help info).
    TIA

I guess you missed the part in the instructions where it says "if you have an iPhone or iPod touch". Those instructions won't work with an iPod nano, unless someone here knows a trick or workaround I've not heard of.
    Regards.

  • Initialisation option for source system in schedular tab

What initialisation option for system in schedular tab signifies? Does it acts as pointer and points to the last record loaded in cube or ods?

    Hi....
    Welcome to SDN..........
Initialisation option for source system in schedular tab........
shows to you all the init you made for a specific datasource/sourcesystem...if you find a row here, it means that the init channel is active and you can load delta for that specific flow.....
Initialization may with data transfer or without Data Transfer.......If you do with data transfer it will set the init flag............as well as it will fetch the data from set up table...........if you do without data transfer it will only set the init flag.....it will not fetch any records.........As soon as this init flag get set.......delta queue will get generated in the source system........after that any changes or new records will go to the delta queue.............So initialization load will be followed by delta load......
When you have to reinit, first of all you have to delete this row and then request a new initial load, otherwise the system cannot allow to perform a new init (with overlapping condition) if you don't deete the previous one....
    Hope this helps

  • Microsoft Outlook 2011 for Mac sync Contacts and Calendar issues

OK, so I have a Macbook Pro with OS X Mountian Lion. I have Microsoft Outlook 2011 for Mac installed. Asked @BlackberryHelp on Twitter how to sync my Blackberry Torch with Outlook as it seems to default to using the builtin Apple Contacts and Calendar instead of Outlook. So they sent me the link to KB19148: "How to synchronize organizer data in Microsoft Office for Mac between the BlackBerry smartphone and a Mac computer using BlackBerry Desktop Software". So I turned on the Sync Services in Outlook and it gave me the dialog box confirming that everything was synced. And it appeared to copy and sync whatever Contacts in the Apple Contacts and calendar entries in the Apple Calendar into Outlook and vice versa. Cool since that's what I wanted.
Then I tried using the Blackberry Desktop Manager to sync everything to my Blackberry Torch 9810. Everything looked like it synced until I opened my Blackberry and all my Contacts were gone. Same with my Calendar entries, except that the Calender entries were hit and miss to whatever copied over (some Calendar entries were missing and others were duplicates). Checked the Apple Contacts and all of them were gone. But when I opened Outlook, everything was there and all OK.
So am I missing something? Turning on Sync Services in Outlook should sync all my Contacts and Calendar with my Blackberry when I use Blackberry Desktop Manager, correct? So why is it still syncing with the Apple Contacts and Calendar (and why did it delete all my Apple Contacts and mess up my Apple Calendar)?
Good thing I backed everything up first so restored everything. But I have all my updated Contacts and Calendar in Outlook and I still need to sync all of that. I don't want to manually do it. So how do I fix this??

After a bit of googling I think you mean the notation "domain\username", i.e., a backslash separator but no leading backslash.
I am not familiar with that notation but apparently it is valid in some contexts.  I googled "os x "domain\username"" to confirm this notation.  Here's one of the hits that shows the notation:
OS X Lion: Guidelines for connecting to a DFS namespace via SMB
I think "DFS" is a distributed file system.  That's as much as I know about this.

  • Outlook calendar and contacts sync limits with Xperia Z1 Compact

I have just set up my Xperia to sync with Outlook Calendar and contacts- took a while to realise outlook calendar needed to be closed to work, however now that I am able to sync my calendar and contact, I am only able to sync some of the items in my contact and the calendar updates to my phone only sync for a few months.  Is there an option on this phone or in PC Companion where I can sync all calendar and contact entries, or somewhere that limits entries that I can switch off?

There was a setting I hadn't found in the PC Companion software:
On the start sync page there is a settings heading next to a spanner on the righthand side - this takes you to sync settings
Select Personal Data Selection and then the properties button for Calendar
You can then set the sync to select all your appointments or a subset.
I hope that this helps someone - it has taken hours to find this setting!

  • Outlook 2011 for Mac Sync

I purchased a Q10 several weeks ago and still cannot get it to sync with my Outlook 2011 for Mac.  I have installed the latest update to Blackberry Link but as was the case when I first tried the calendar and contact sync section is greyed out.  I can sync it with a Windows PC with no problems but I really need it to sync with the data on my Macbook Pro.
I would appreciate knowing whether this is even possibe or what I might be doing wrong.  I am running OSX 10.8.5.
    Thanks

two ways of doing this, you could try http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2452489, or drag each individual calendar event into iCal. You can't do multiple items has to be one... at... a... time.

  • Outlook 2011 for Mac Syncing with iPhone 5

    THIS IS WHAT I HAVE:
Macbook Pro running OS X (10.8.2) - Mountain Lion
    iPhone 5 running iOS 6.0.1
    Outlook for Mac 2011 (14.2.4)
I am coming from a PC that ran the most current Outlook and iTunes.  Before I switched to my Macbook Pro I was able to input calendar items into Outlook on the PC and then plug my iPhone 5 into the PC and everything would sync accordingly.  Ever since I switched over to Mac my Outlook calendar items will not sync.
THIS IS WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO DO:
Sync my Outlook calendar and contacts between my iPhone 5 & my Macbook Pro. It sounds simple but after reading almost every post possible I have come to a conclusion that I might have to switch back to my PC for such a simple problem.
Can anyone with this same problem help me with success?
If not is there anyone that can suggest any other way that I can have everything synced up?  I have tried icloud but I don't want everything in the cloud.
    Thank you in advanced.

  • Outlook Calendar and Contact Sync with Nano

Just wondering if apple is working on a service pack for itunes 5.0 that will actually allow itunes to properly sync up with outlook calendar and contacts without getting that -50 error (or -20). forgot error code !!!

As others have said in your other posts, no one here knows or can say what Apple is working on.

  • Outlook Exchange and Contact Sync, QUESTION!

We've just added iPad 2's to our sales force.  Prior we were just PC and Blackberry.  Now the team is using their own smartphones (some still have their Blackberry), an iPad and no longer have their company PC's.
In the past, if we entered contact information into outlook or the Blackberry, they of course automatically sync.  When activating company email on the iPad, all existing contacts synced to the iPad.
However, now upon entering a contact into the iPad, it no longer will Sync to the Blackberry..... BUT when you enter a contact into the Blackberry, it does transfer to the iPad.
    Whats happening here? LOL

  • How to force a "push" for contacts sync?

In Settings, I use my MobileMe account ONLY for contacts, calendars, and bookmarks, not for e-mail.
I have Fetch New Data set to Push, then Push set to Manually, then in Advanced, my e-mail accounts are set to Fetch (i.e. it'll update my mail only when I launch the Mail app) and my MobileMe account set to Push (i.e. I'd like them to be pushed to the phone).
However, no contacts seem to get pushed to the phone. It's confusing as to how I'm supposed to initiate a manual push. Launching Contacts doesn't update the contacts.
I don't particularly want to set Push to every 15 or 30 minutes, because I don't want to drain battery life. I'd be happy if it sync'ed once a day, but right now it's not syncing at all.
Can someone help me understand how "push" and "manually" work (since there is no "force push right now" button anywhere) and how I can keep my contacts on my iPhone updated regularly automatically?
Should I set MobileMe to Fetch? So that, as in when I launch Mail it updates the mail, when I launch Contacts it will update the Contacts? That would be good enough for me.
(Also, this entire post is about downloading contacts from MobileMe, but I'd also like to make sure the reverse works too -- that if I add a contact or calendar date to my iPhone, it gets synced with MobileMe and later appears on my desktop machine.)

Huh. Mine it does happen automatically, both ways.
On the phone, Settings, Mail, Mobile Me account--do you have to set to sync contacts, calendar and bookmarks? Those can be turned off individually (this is in the account detail itself, not under the Fetch/Push setting screen.)
On the computer, System Preferences, Mobile Me, do you have it set to sync automatically?
When I see things not syncing, I generally force a sync from the computer, figuring that triggers the server and so on down the line to the phone.

Previously I could sync and iPhone 4/4S with Outlook 2010 Contacts and Calendar but it stopped working when I moved to Outlook 2013.

  • Outlook 2011 for Mac syncing with OSX Yosemite

    Hi All
One major thing holding me back from updating to Mavericks and Yosemite is the seeming lack of support for syncing between Office 2011 for mac and the mac address book/calendar etc. I've been down the road of internet based mail with gmail and mac-mail but find them awful to use in comparison with Outlook. The functionality is not as good, simple things like capitalising first letters of sentences. Signatures look awful, fonts default etc etc and it just generally looks amateurish from the recipient end. I decided long ago to stick with Outlook 2011 but back then I could sync addresses, emails, contacts with address book and ical hassle free at the touch of a button. I am still running 10.8.5 on the office machine for this very reason and scared to update to Mavericks or Yosemite as I've done on my back-up machine and can see this no longer is supported. Can anyone help with this? I assume as it was once supported and now isn't its unlikely to be resupported. What should I do? I hate the idea of third party applications to get this to work. In the past this has lead to things being messed up and hours spent resetting. There was talk of Office for Mac 2014 but nothing seems to have materialised? Any thoughts/recommendations gratefully received...

I use Office 2011 on the Mac, and the absence of syncing contacts is a pain. For a while now I've use OS X Mail instead, which by and large handles Exchange email ok. Since Yosemite, my Mac email has gone downwards, so I'm not trying Airmail 2 which also has Exchange support and is a good deal more modern than Mac Mail. There is no sign of Microsoft ever updating Office for the Mac and catching up with three years of not updating Office 2011, apart from the occasional hint.
With Yosemite, Mail crashes, and looking at the log messages is having issues. I've done a clean install of Yosemite, and despite that still can't achieve stability. It may be me, or it may be Apple, hence the experiment with Airmail 2.
I have also not found any simple way to sync Outlook 2011 contacts with OS X Contacts in Mavericks or Yosemite.

  • Properties won't open in Outlook 2007 for contacts created in iPhone

The contacts synched from my iPhone to Outlook but when I try to open the contact, it get an error message that the properties dialog box cannot open because an invalid ENTRYID was passed in. I have check software versions, made sure the Trust Center has the correct information and no luck. Has anyone else run into this issue?

    Hey Lizzybyrd,
The solution that worked for me was to EXPORT my contacts OUT of outlook (as a Windows CSV file), and then re-import them into outlook. This sorted out the error I kept getting, which is the same as your description.
The only thing to look out for are the options given to you when you re-import your address book back in... I forgot what they were, but you don't want to create duplicate contacts. you want to merge them i think. Its logical when you read the options.
    Hope this works out.

  • Missing multiple fields for contacts, synced to google

The contacts on my ipad3 show some phone numbers only for some of them. I sync with google contacts via my android phone. I can not add additional fields for some contacts and unable to customize the fields either.

Step 1.) Synchronize your Gmail contacts to your Mac by enabling the “Synchronize with Google” option within your Mac Address Book using the ‘On My Mac’ database. This will create a local copy on your Mac of all of your Gmail contacts.
Step 2.) Set up iCloud on your Mac. Synchronizing Contacts should then synchronize your local ‘On My Mac’ database into the iCloud Contacts database.
Step 3.) Set up your Gmail contacts via Exchange on your iPhone. http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=138740 . This is the only way I know of to actually synchronize your Gmail Contacts to your iPhone directly from Gmail’s servers over the Internet via Push.
Step 4.) Set up iCloud on your iPhone and have it synchronize your contacts as well.
