No Output but Ipod thinks its playing...... help!!!
Hi
Can anyone help? My Ipod has stopped playing! I select a song, playlist, shuffle songs etc and press play. Play icon shows in top right corner of the screen but the song doesn't actually start. The play progress bar doesn't move and there is no sound output.
I've tried re-setting, re-charging etc but nothing makes a difference.
Does anyone have an idea of what the problem is and what I can do?

When the iPod is in recovery mode iTunes on the computer will give you a message that says it has discovered an iPod in recovery mode.
Try the following to get iTunes to see the iPod. The place in recovery mode and restore it.

My sons ipod thinks its an ipad 2 and my ipad 2 thinks its a ipod 2
i am not sure where to post this so i have posted this under the ipad as well
I put my ipad 2 on to charge and sync it's data to my computer and my son had his ipod charging on the same computer
I have 2 accounts on my computer so he can have his own itunes library with out any of my app/games music etc
when i took my ipad 2 off my computer i was playing a game on it when i went back to home page to check my emails at the top where it said ipad 2 its showing ipod 2 and when i checked my sons ipod where is say's ipod its saying ipad 2
how do i fix thisall my app's games and music are all on my device
and all my son app's games are on his ipod
my ipad 2 will only sync to my itunes account as it needs a special passcode to sync
and will not sync to my sons account as he does not know the ipad 2 passcode its just the names at the top of each device are showing the ipod shows its a ipad 2
and the ipad 2 its showing ipod 2
if the ipad 2 had been restored to a back up if the ipods data or synced to my sons ipod itunes library it would have his apps,etc which its not and the same for the other device
however under itunes on my sons account the ipod shows up as a ipod and the ipad 2 is showing up on my account As a ipad 2 its just the device name at the top of each device thats wrong -

You've been given some misinformation.
RAM is the only thing in an iMac that IS user upgradeable/installable.
You cannot void the extended AppleCare installing your own RAM modules.
So, whoever told you this, has lied to you.
If you actually opened the iMac's face and attempted to do some other internal work, then yes, you would've voided the 3-year warranty.
But, opening the RAM access area and upgrading the RAM does NOT void the AppleCare warranty.
What type or manufacture of RAM was it?
Macs a very picky about the RAM that they need to use.

Correct and reliable Mac RAM can be purchased from online Mac RAM sources Crucial memory or OWC (macsales.com).
Plus, whoever installed OS X 10.8 Mountain LIon on to this 2009 iMac should've done so.
OS X 10.8 is a download only OS and is forever tied to some other Apple ID other than your own Apple ID.
I do not use OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, but there should be a recovery partition that you can use to try and reinstall OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.
Hopefully, someone with more experience with OS X 10.8 will be able to better help you.

Changed TV out to off but ipod still only plays audio and no video
Just recently my ipod decided not to play video. All the videos in the video folders are gone and now appear in the music folder. Even the video podcasts no longer appear in the video podcast folder. I have changed the TV to out to off and still it continues to do the same thing. I am not sure what happened, I don't believe I changed any settings or anything. I would hate to reset the ipod and lose everything. Need help, thanks.

Open your QuickTime control panel (either via the Control panels, or by going "Edit > Preferences > QuickTime Preferences" in the Quicktime Player). In the Advanced tab, uncheck Enable Direct3D video acceleration:

I have tried a hard start, holding home button and on/off button at same time. Nothing! just says" ipod is disabled connect to itunes".
See if this program will get the iPod in recovery mode.

Ipod Problems (not playing/clicking)
My ipod was acting up today..
My computer wouldnt recognize it and it wouldnt update..
Then.. it was freezing up and going real slow...
the freezing stopped and everything worked except it wouldnt play a song... it sounded like it was trying to but then like clicked and didnt play...so i did the hold in menu and the center button to reset it... a folder came up wiht a ! in it in the restart that said "www.apple.com/support/ipod"
now its playing and working but i dont think this will last
anyone know whats going on? any more info you need just ask

All of my audiobooks do not show up on my actual ipod classic...help
All of my audiobooks do not show up on my ipod all of the sudden......I have tried resetting and it does not help.
This is a small...."Bug" I guess you could call it, in the ipods software where if you have songs by one artist and none of them have a album listed with them, they do not show up under "Artist".
I forgot the exact workaround, but I think its something like if you give one song by the artist a album name (By rightclicking it in iTUnes, hitting get info and selecting the info tab) all the rest of the songs will now appear under artist on the ipod -
Ipod will only play 5 or so songs
This problem began only a few months after my purchase. My ipod will play a few songs and shut off. Sometimes the shuffle function will not work. I tried my friend's ipod on my computer but the same thing happened. I tried putting songs onto a CD and reloading them back into a playlist, and that worked for awhile but things are getting worse again. I keep downloading the latest itunes, and restoring my ipod thinking that will help but it does not.
It is 1st generation shuffle. I took it to Circuit City and they put some songs on. It seemed to work, but I just forwarded through the songs and did not play them all the way through. This is a problem that gets worse as time goes on. A new batch of songs will play through for awhile, then gradually the batch that the ipod will play gets smaller and smaller until there are only a few songs left that will play. I did not test the Circuit City songs thoroughly so I will go back and try it again. Thanks for response!

My Home button on my Ipod Touch is compleatly unresponsive, i dont think its a software issue it might be a hardware issue, does anyone have a solution??!

i am able to see my ipod touch 5th geneneration in find my iphone on icloud but it is showing offline.... i think its stolen but i have locked it with a passcode and the person who i suspect doesnt know it... i wana get it back what should i do??

- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected, on a computer browser go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up or conbtinue to show off-line.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.

- If not shown/shown off, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.
- Apple will do nothing without a court order

my music is not on my ipod touch anymore but one of my other software called copytrans has my music backup so i got all of my music and videos back but they will not play in copytrans itunes or just my ipod touch itself please please help there???????????

I am trying to sync my ipod shuffle 4th generation, but this time around I keep getting a message saying that there is not enough free space to sync my itunes library. Frustratingly I am trying to sync a new playlist which is smaller in size than the one currently on the ipod!! I have tried everthing I can think of but to no avail, please help!!
