No page loading: blue status bar goes across and then stops
Tried disabling prefetching and another DNS server. The problem still exists. Pages are not displayed.
OK..found out what DNS is. Will research how to check my settings. Thanks. will let you know the outcome.

IOS 6 update - status bar goes a bit, then shuts down and its hot
Updating to IOS 6. I am at the point where I see a black screen with a white apple and a status bar under the apple. The status bar barely moves but it is currently at about 35%. After a bit, it goes blank and then it resumes the same process.
I have it plugged into my PC so it has power.
Is this normal? It's been happening for about 20 minutes now. Plus I can probably turn my heater off since the iPhone seems to be providing me warmth. Is it supposed to get hot during an update?
How long before I cancel the IOS update and probably my Verizon contract for this phone and any/everything to do with Apple products?Just needed to wait for it to get done. Apparently, that is how long an update happens

Yesterday I had to update my iTunes, but there was a problem. I don't remember the problem exactly, but it was something along the lines of a certain file not being there or something. Then today I wanted to open iTunes to listen to something and it wouldn't open, so I decided to try and reinstall it. I was able to uninstall everything except for the Apple Mobile Device Support. With that one the bar fills and then when it's almost done it depletes again. Now I'm stuck with not being to install iTunes or do anything there and when trying to download iTunes again it gives me the option to save iTunesSetup.exe but then nothing is saved or downloaded.
Adding to the above, there seems to be something odd about the way the download is triggered on the iTunes download page. Firefox in particular doesn't seem to like it. Try clearing your browser's cache, changing pop-up blocker settings, using an alternate browser. or these direct links:
iTunesSetup.exe (32-bit)
iTunes64Setup .exe (64-bit)
I got the links by intercepting the download requests from Softpedia's iTunes page. If they don't work try going there. The files themselves are hosted at apple.com.

I have my Yahoo Mail "poped" over to Apple Mail. I can recieve emails but I can't send them out. The blue bar at the bottom left of the Mail page gets half way across and then the pop-up "Cannot send message using the server" comes up? What do I do?
Your outgoing mail server is different than your incoming server. Usually the outgoing mail server will have smtp in it. I noticed yours said "cannot send message using the server mail.wavecable.com". That sounds like an incoming mail server. Try setting your outgoing mail server to smtp.wavecable.com

I'm having problems installing iTunes 10.7. It seems to be going well and then at the last part of the blue bar it just doesn't complete. All software is up to date and there is plen of room on the mini? I have tried like 4 times and am ready to throw it out the window.

Try a reset: Press and hold both Sleep/Wake and Home buttons until the Apple logo appears.
If that didn't fix things, do a restore:

Install blue status bar went gray, but all is OK...
So I finally got around to biting the bullet and I installed iTunes 8.0.2 on our MBP (still haven't done it on the G4 which has all our music in the Library.)
During installation, I watched the blue status bar (I don't know its real name - that liquidy turquoise thing that moves left to right to tell you how much is done). Early on in the installation it went from blue to a pale gray.
Installation finished successfully and a Software Update shows that no new software is needed. Get Info shows the correct version and I can open iTunes 8.0.2 just fine.
I did have a permission repair report from after the install of

Determining correct file permissions.
Permissions differ on ./System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.usbmuxd.plist, should be -rw-r--r-- , they are -rwxr-xr-x
Owner and group corrected on ./System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.usbmuxd.plist

Permissions repair complete
The privileges have been verified or repaired on the selected volume
Should I be worried about the blue to grey bar?

Quite possibly you may have clicked off the installer box onto the finder desktop and the box is now deselected. Clicking back onto the box would have gotten the color back. However as hpr3 noted, you're OK. -
Itunes won't connect, status bar goes about half way and stops, then times out. I have tried all fixes posted, you name it, I have done it. Running Vista and current version of Itunes. Can connect to Internet with any other app. Using Firefox, their latest version if that matters.
I have seen this is an on going problem throughout the Itunes community. All I can say is 'Bad Form Apple, Bad form.'One more odd thing. The itunes diagnostics believes my windows firewall is on which is it not (believe me I've checked/double checked etc) AND believes itunes is not enable in windows firewall which it is, if ever I turned WF on. How can itunes get this wrong? I mean, if itunes believes its being blocked, maybe that's why I'm being blocked...has anyone heard of this?

This just started happening.. I open Itunes and the little round rainbow loading indicator just goes on and doesnt stop.. My itunes wont function.. It gets stuck. Then i have to force quit.. I tried to shut down and restart. also reloaded the latest itune 11.1.3 and it still gets stuck.
i use an external HD and thats fine.. all files are in there. But I have no idea why my itunes app is getting stuck.
Am I the only person this is happening to? What can I do to correct this problem?Hi marlonbnyc!

it seems to work when you reset the port
try this only after you've made sure that any antiviral/firewall software isnt blocking iTunes and the internet connection settings are fine
1. go to windows, accessories and right click on command prompt and run as administrator
2. type in netsh winsock reset (i know sounds ridiculous but it works type WITH SPACES) and press enter
3. Message saying "winsock reset successful now reboot your computer"
4. restart your computer, and open iTunes..backup should run much smoother and faster

just bought a new iphone4 and was loading os6 and now it won't turn on. the apple glows like it is starting up, then the screen goes black and then repeats the same process over and over. i have tried to reboot multiple times now
I am assuming the phone was working prior to you installing IOS 6? Did you use itunes to install IOS 6 or just run from the phone?
When I tried to do the Over The Air update to IOS6 on my iPhone 4, it errored out and I had to connect it to iTunes and select "Restore" from the summary screen after iTunes finds the phone is connected. If this works for you, it will go through a couple of reboots that take a few minutes to complete. It should then give you the option to start with a fresh new phone or to use one of your previous backups to load your contacts and other information, provided you have backed up the phone previously.
