No Pages 'Save as' dialogue in iWork for ICloud beta.

I have successfully created some Pages files in the iWork for ICloud beta. I have not saved them i.e., named the files as you do in Pages for iMac (Edit>Save). They appear as Blank 1, Blank 2, Blank 3 etc., in the Safari browser's tabs.
I know I can rename files in iCloud's 'My Document' web page. I also know iCloud will continue to track and save changes to these files.
I am a regular Pages on iMac user but cannot see where I can name the Pages file in the iCloud Beta version in the first place.

Although it is relatively minor in the grand scheme of things, the drift away from simplicity with silly stuff like this won't help Apple keep ahead of the pack. Who was it said 'Any fool can make something complicated. It takes a genius to make it simple.'?

The first time an iPhone is connected to iTunes that is used to sync with another iPhone or iOS device, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device or to set up the iPhone as a new iPhone.
The former does as provided - it transfers the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device to the iPhone replacing all data on the iPhone that is included with the backup being transferred. The latter does nothing allowing you to make your various selections for the iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
This is designed to be done right away with a new iPhone.
If you don't have a backup for the iPhone with iTunes on your computer and don't have an iCloud backup that hasn't been updated since choosing to transfer the backup for your iPod Touch to the iPhone, the data that was on the iPhone is gone.

How do I add a comment to a cell in Numbers for iCloud beta like I can in Numbers for ios???

I can't be the only person to find it incredibly frustrating that it seems impossible to add a comment to a cell in beta. I use this function a lot on my ipad - is it really not available in beta?? And if not, why not??

Thanks for the question. You are correct, comments are hidden from all iWork apps when imported to iWork for iCloud beta. Please note that the current release of Numbers for iCloud is a beta version. Therefore, certain features aren’t yet supported.

Pages for iCloud beta did not save my changes

Hello,
I'm trying to figure out how to save changes when editing documents in pages for iCloud beta as today I've lost all of the amendments I made to my coursework. I logged in to iCloud using windows PC and IE 10 at work in my lunch break to do some of my coursework. After the best part of an hour I stopped working and logged off of iCloud. Now I've signed in to my ipad and the document is saying it was last updated yesterday so, thinking its a sync problem with my iPad I have logged in to iCloud on my laptop and can see that it's not a sync problem with the iPad and that nothing I did today has saved. Does anyone have any idea where I've gone wrong and how I can ensure I don't lose any work in the future?

I have been wondering about this absence of a "save" button, too. I tested it just a while ago, editing a Numbers spreadsheet in iCloud beta, and adding a large image that I knew could not immediately be saved. I then chose [name]/Logout, and Numbers for iCloud beta warned that he document had not yet finished saving. So if you wait for the save to finish (although I saw no notification that it did, eventually the file was saved), you should have no problem. Hope it works for you.

Is there a french spellcheck in iWork for iCloud?

i think everything is in the question. I work alot in iWork for icloud and that bug me. I wonder if there any plan to add language in spellcheck or maybe have a french iWork for icloud.

You can use the built-in spellchecker (correcteur orthographique) in iPad but first you need to set your iPad to French or to use a built-in French keypad in your apps.
This is how you do it:
Method 1: change to International
Tap Settings on your iPad;
Tap General in the left column;
Tap International on the right;
Tap Language, select Français from the popup and tap Done;
Wait a little while: iPad will show "Changement de langue..."; it will take about 1 minute. Your iPad is now in "French";
As you type in French the spellchecker will automatically prompt you for the correct word; for example, if you type "voila une bete degoutante", it will prompt you to "voilà une bête dégoutante". All you do is press the Spacebar every time it prompts you for the correct word. If the word is incorrect, it will be underlined with a dotted red line.
Method 2: change to a French keyboard
Tap Settings on iPad;
Tap General;
Tap Keyboard on the right;
In the middle of the page on the right, you will see Keyboards again, tap it;
Tap on Add New Keyboard...;
Tap French (you can chose between 3 keyboards, Canada, French or Switzerland) to add any of the 3 keyboards;
If you wish to have a "French keyboard" on the iPad, you will have to select it by tapping French and tap the right software keyboard, AZERTY, Accented AZERTY or QWERTY (for the French keyboard);
When you type in Pages or Numbers, tap on the Globe to the left of the Spacebar to select the French keyboard (Français) and, as you type, it will correct the words as previously stated. By tapping repeatedly on the Globe key, you can toggle between the different keyboards you have installed.

Is it possoible to email Word documents to be stored on iWork for iCloud?

Yes. One way is to download the Word documents and drop them into your Pages for iCloud window (the one where all your files are shown and not a blank word processing page).

Has anyone been able to load more than 1000 Pages documents in the Pages for iCloud beta? I get a loading page that never actually loads.

That is what I thought would be the way to do it. However it seemed the only way to see the file selector window was to close the file I was working on and and then hit the pages for iCloud icon again to get the file select window. However, pages refused to reload. I was left with checking the iCloud files on the Mac. I changed the file name there. It sees to me the online and iOS versions of the program should allow for naming of the file from within the files editing window just as can be done on the mac version.
Thanks for the follow up. I guess I just need to figure out why pages for iCloud wouldn't relaod. I suspect it needs to be closed first and that must involve more than closing a window. That begs the question of how the web based program is closed.

Pages for iCloud beta won't load on my MacBook Air

For about two weeks now I have not been able to open Pages for iCloud beta on my MBAir - I can open keynote and numbers beta - they load in about 2 seconds. Pages beta was slow - the average load tiime was 65 seconds...now it I just get a spinning wheel - the longest I experimented was 11 minutes and it sitll did not load. Every few days I try it again. Fortunately I can get my iCloud docs by loading my regular Pages and command-open and it I get a template asking if I want docs on my computer or in iCloud - everything loads there in a nanosecond. But the Beta is dead for me.

Pages is now working on my MacBook Air! It is much improved from the last time I was able to load - still not perfect as it is still in beta mode, but great!...I created a multimedia document on my iPhone and once again, decided to fire up the Pages beta on my MBAir.. et voilà ! it loaded in just a few seconds and there were all my documents, including the one just created! YAY!
Still needs the facility to edit anchored objects [a photo this time] - but says that is coming!

Set defaults on a Numbers for iCloud beta spreadsheet?

How can I set page defaults on a Numbers for iCloud beta spreadsheet? I want to have the size set to 100% and the Format panel hidden. At present I have to re-set these values everytime I re-open the file. I have loooked in help but can't see any relevant info. I'm running Mavericks.

Further to my post on April 23, I have noticed that when I save a numbers file on my Mac, all the changes I have made to things like the size, whether the format panel is visible, even the window extents etc. are all saved with the file. Of course this is what you would expect but in the iCloud Beta version there is no Save command so I assume that is why these things are not saved. Does anyone know if this is correct or if there is a work around?

Can't use iWorks on iCloud Beta

I received an invitation to try iworks on iCloud Beta but when I follow the directions and try to open an iWork app like Keynote in iCloud Beta, a message says I need a Developer's account. If I try to use iWorks on iCloud, I am asked to pay for it. Please advise. Thanks.

Usualy we use Google drive documents to share some spreadsheets, but we wanted to share the same document with numbers (that's much better) but it doesn't work as easily as in google drive and doesn't even remotely works how it was supposed.

Don't know why those letters wouldn't display properly; maybe something to do with their settings at Safari > Preferences > Advanced > Default Encoding or similar setting in whatever browser they are using. But it's really easy for them to download the document via the "wrench" in the Numbers for iCloud menu. Then they can open it in the Numbers app.
For "real-time" collaboration, I think you all need to be accessing Numbers for iCloud via the browser.

I have an Ipad 1 and the os is 5.1.1 I am trying to get iwork for ipad beta and I always get the option to set up icloud on this device. Any ideas to help me out? Thanks

You can't access icloud.com on your iPad. You have to access it using your computer browser. After creating iWork documents using the iWork beta apps on icloud.com, you have to purchase the corresponding apps from the app store for your iPad in order to access the documents or create new documents on your iPad.

IWorks for iCloud keeps directing me to log in page

When I go to open a document in Numbers or Pages my iCloud keeps redirecting me back to the login page every single time? It will not open and let me work in any files. Anyone else having this issue or know how to resolve it? I can edit on my Macbook Pro, iPhone and iPad. It's just when I try to access it from my work PC. I have used it before right when the Beta version came out but for some reason now it won't let me. It will let me download and upload just not work within the browser.

My note on my ipad and Iphone have an index of the notes to the left on my copnuter! I wanted to only print the index and the date after the index. The computer would allow me to print the note but not the date it was indexed or the title to the left! of the index date! Has anyone ever had this problem! I am changing laptops and wanted to keep an index printed out for references but delete all the notes from this old notebook!

I had purchased an iphone 5 in feb with 32 gb verses 16 I was happy with it until I thought I was updating itunes to fix bugs and fixes. It updated the ios7 program and the whole look of the iphone five changed and I am over 58 and have trouble keeping up and did not want to update! I callled and had 436 days of insurance left on my phone and I asked them to keep te money for the upgrade and just give me back the 6ios. of course it is know. Apple was trying to helpe get up to speed but the calendar was given me the most difficulty not being able to see appts forward enough to plan very well! My spouse is retiring from the DOD and for the first time in his life can have his on cell so I gave him my 5 and still had my old 4 got my ios6 back and just now the phone is feeling pretty comfortable again for me. The only thing missing is siri i do miss her! I never anticipated that my ipad would change to the ios7 on its on but the applestore in Tampa said that yes that happens oops! I now will try to self educate myself on the ios7. I love my ipad but wish it had not jumped to the 7ios. big problem again is I have is on my 5 it wasa a 32 and I have double or the max of icloud storage but just learned at the apple store that icloud does not store your photos on the cloud. I am a grandmother and the soul pupose of me purchasing so much icloud storage was for my grandkids pics and now I found out you guys don't do this. Where do you store the photos for people? Help! have mercy on me because even though the 436 days of service from Icloud left on my iphone 5 my spouse is the only one that can use it even tho my ipad automatically switched to the ios 7. Really am trying to work with you apple because I think you have a better product but as far as customer service you can make an appt at the service center an hour away and then wait inline for 40 minutes for the genuis bar guys to make you feel like an idiot for not figuring this out on your own or I have to pay just to talk to your service department after I already have in my name 436 days left on my service contract! The contract only goes with the phone even though your update changed my ipad also! A little customer service that is given free of charge when you have some one really trying to educate themselves on and ios7 that they didn't even want would go a very long way toward keeping your customers happy otherwise once a more friendly tech company that offers the better product tops you. Its over! You have a great product and people are paying you to help them lean how to navigate it! The problem is once you have mastered one system that system is updated and you start over!
